The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

Really, really peed off this evening. We had a delivery as usual (which we pay extra for as we are in Chipperfield) and received poppadoms that were really past their best (not crispy at all) and we were missing the peshwari naan which pretty much ruined the meal. The other dishes were good/very good, but to be missing a naan was very annoying. We rang about it and were told it would be taken off the next order… however, I’m not inspired to make a return visit - especially since I would always have leftovers the following day - but, again, there will be no naan with it….

Good not up to usual quality, dishes were oily and salty. I expect it’s a one off and back to usual standard next time.

Friendly staff and a nice setting but above all superb food. This Restaurant offers dishes I have not seen before at any other Tandoori Not only that but these dishes are fantastic. I originate from West London which is packed with Tandoori Restaurants so have had many many dishes This one is up there with some of the best Try it you will not be disappointed. The person who recently posted a review about the kitchen, well it has a 5 star hygiene rating, funny that eh?

This is the best Indian in hitchin. The chef’s specials are incredible.

Totally disappointed! Ordered a lamb chop nihari the sauce was nice, but the chops were not trimmed, very boney and fatty, hardly any meat. Onion bhaji's were over cooked, hard and cold. Chicken tikka dhansak was supposed to have extra chilli's as requested there were none, and the nan bread was doughy and burnt, sag aloo was cold and tasted horrid. Have a feeling that it was all blasted in the microwave. Was looking forward to this meal and we had to bin the whole lot. £45 down the drain. Can't understand it, have eaten in the restuarant and it was lovely. Think you should give up doing deliveries as clearly not suitable as the restuarant dine in takes priority. Will never order again.

Great food and lots of chicken in our curry! We did have to wait almost an hour but I can accept that as the food was delicious

My first time eating here. Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and the food was great. It was a very chilled environment and the price of the food is very reasonable 👌 I will be back again I'm the future 😀

Not what it used to be. It's been a while since we've had something from here (because it was an especially bad one back then) and they used to do these massive crispy onion bhajis which are now replaced by some soggy flat miserable onion loaf things. The rest of the food was fine. Online ordering is very convenient

Excellent food. Reallly tasty.

The staff were incredibly friendly. We went on the day there was a harvest festival, so they only had one special meal. The staff explained what each item was and how to eat it. The food was amazing. Never had anything like it before. In aw with the kindness we received.

Tasty food and well priced. Masala Coke was a great non alcoholic drink to try.

First time try this restaurant. Welcome greeting by a nice staff, good impression at first place. After ordering, my dish served in a reasonable time even the restaurant is packed. Smell nice and fresh. Take a first bite, so delicious and it is fresh cook. Very enjoyable dinner (better eat with your fingers to enjoy it) 😜

Brilliant food and value for money with very polite and effective service. Chicken Mirchi is sublime with a real kick.
