The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

We have been coming here for a long time whilst pregnant to now my toddler sitting in a chair having dinner. The staff are amazing and always friendly. the food is always on time and tasty. the restaurant is clean and has the right ambience not too quite not too loud. perfect restaurant any day of the week.

So, I've been here a fair few times now, and honestly, it never disappoints. We booked a table on Saturday – it was quiet, sure, but the staff? Polite, courteous, the lot. Proper nice. I went for the chicken tikka masala, partner had the paneer pasanda – both, absolutely spot on. Delicious. Then, the owner pops over for a chat to make sure everything’s alright, and guess what? Turns out both our daughters are in the same year at school. Small world, eh? And to top it off, he gives us a complimentary drink and starts chatting about how they make their curries – which is right up my street because I love a bit of curry cooking myself. Said I could even pop by one day to see how it’s all done. Honestly, can't recommend it enough. It’s now our go-to in Huntingdon – top-notch curries, brilliant service, the works. Very rude, Waiter and swearing at my kids

Super Indian restaurant, which my wife, myself and our friends regularly visit for an evening meal. Large menu of dishes which are always nicely cooked. Excellent service from all staff. Very pleasant atmosphere in which to eat with friends

Lovely food and extra early so I didn’t have tip ready for driver, will make it up next time, please try and get Salmon back on the menu.

Quaint pub with a good selection of local ales and ciders.

Pre-ordered a take away for 8pm and the staff show up with it at 6:25pm. I showed him the order confirmation but his suggestion was to keep the order and microwave it. Eventually, he agreed to return at 8pm with a fresh order. However, it was clear that they had just returned with the same order heated up. Mistakes happen, I get that, but unfortunately, this was a bad decision from the restaurant that could have been handled better. This was our first time ordering from here but will be our last.

No longer the mayflower Indian restaurant, its under new management as a Bangladesh restaurant, wild ducks. Second night so a lot of learning on the job...... Food ok, tasty , with different foid offerings but rookie errors ie. Music to loud, Food not served at once, cold plates , lights very bright so lacking ambiance. However, staff welcomed feedback so hopefully improvements will take place . Pricing very reasonable in these inflationary times, sizzling wild duck and chicken Kathmandu particularly tasty. Will be back.

Curries are OK when a certain chef there bit hit n miss at other times

We only use Curry Cottage because its refreshing nowadays to actually find real spices are used such as Fennel seed, Cardamon pods and Cinnamon sticks etc. We have tried other Indian restaurants in Halstead, but have found their food quite bland in comparison.

It was our 1st time to eat in the restaurant and we had Ashok serve us. Overall everything was perfect, highly recommend the vindaloo 🔥
