The Gandhi in Central Bedfordshire

We moved near to Sandy 4 years ago , we have tried all the local curry’s and have to say value for money and for consistent quality and flavour it’s can’t be beaten ! We use the Ghandi all the time and can say without doubt it’s the best local Indian food. Great service and ways warm and friendly. Well done to the team and the chefs !

Actually picked up a pre-ordered takeaway. Excellent Indian food. Good service. Food is not cold and staff are really pleasant.

Positive We really love this Restaurant. The food is very tasty. Reasonable price. Less oil. No unnecessary ingredients to feel bloated. And we love the simplicity..💕We have been coming again n again n we will go again as it feels home❤️ Can be improved: The portion size could be slightly bigger for most people even though it is the right size for me - as i don’t eat very big portions. Food was ok but very small portions, was very packed which made this harder for 2 wheelchair users, was charged a gratuity fee which I thought was unreasonable considering our visit there, will not be returning

We go regularly with friends and family. Bobby and all his staff are friendly, polite and will try and make you visit special. Food is excellent very tasty best curry ever. All this at a very reasonable price.

Superb food and lovely friendly staff, one of the best Indian meals ever. Never disapointed. Yes, there is a bit of a wait while your meal is fresh cooked for you, but its well worth it.

My wife and I ate again at The Ghandi in Sandy. As usual the food was delicious, the service was quick without being imposing and the price was excellent.

The prices here are the lowest in the area and consequently it is very busy for both eating in and takeouts. When we visited takeouts were 40 minute wait and eating in similar. Food good without being spectacular, but consistently cooked dishes at a reasonable price is no bad thing. Friendly service.

Cheapest ruby murry around and tastes better than all the rest

My second time at The Gandhi. It is such good value! Cost just over £20 for starter, main, naan, two drinks. Delicious and staff very friendly, feels a very welcoming, friendly, homely space. My new go-to for a curry.

Food is cheap and pretty nice, but the service over the phone and when you arrive is lacking.

Took a little while to get seated but it was a Saturday so expected , the staff were fantastic , helpful and approachable without being rushy . The food was the best I’ve had and hot well seasoned and plenty . Would definitely go back again .

Unfortunately I will have to put a low score on this Curry House. The toilet floor was soaking wet when advised the Manager, he ignored the issue and walked off. Also not the propieters fault, but there was a child running around uncontrollably which ruined our night.

This is the first time we have had a takeaway from this restaurant as we live in St Neots and this establishment is in Sandy.. not the other side of the world i know but St Neots have many Indian restraints, however my brother-in-law has used this place every weekend for years and swears by it.... so we thought we would give it a go.... and i'm so glad we did...... gorgeous food. piping hot. very friendly staff. large portions and priced very reasonably. we have found our new go too Indian takeaway / restaurant. just don't change!!!!!!!

Had a lovely meal here Beginning of July - we thought we would book a table as not been since Dec2019 - it did not disappoint I took quite some time looking at menu and we wasn’t rushed at all might have been different if restaurant had been busy but it was a Monday night - food was very tasty just the right amount - very reasonable prices - hardly any difference from 2.5 years ago - 2 starters / 3 mains / 1 peshwari naan -2 alcoholic drinks just under £40 you can’t go wrong

This place never disappoints friendly service and great food

Food is great, staff seemed a bit hostile last time we went but the time before last they were fine so probably just stressed. Portion sizes are perfect, they don't give you too much or too little! So cheap as well a party of four including alcoholic drinks and the bill was under £80... Literally can not go wrong for the price.

Fabulous food every time with friendly staff

As part of the continued Bedfordshire Curry Tour we were keen to try the Gandhi at Sandy after reading some of the reviews. The restaurant is pleasant and clean after you work out how to get in (its around the back only)! We ordered the obligatory poppadums and the usual onion bhajis for starters. The poppadums were fresh and crisp and the pickle tray very good. Unlike a lot of restaurants we have visited recently, the onion bhajis were freshly made rather than bought-in frozen ones. Tasty and filling. Main courses were fine, but nothing spectacular. Fairly middle of the road in terms of flavour and quality. The big positive of this restaurant is the price – it was one of the cheapest that we have visited ‘on tour’ and the mediocre curry could be forgiven due to its low cost. It was a pretty cheap night out and it was also good to see that drinks prices were not astronomical too. In summary, we wouldn’t return but those searching for a cheap, decent enough curry could do far worse. Sort of recommended… …maybe.

Just moved to the area and wanted a ruby . Great tasting curries and really good value . Will now be my local indian restaurant.

We have been several times to the Ghandi in sandy and have never been disappointed. The food is great and we always leave feeling very full. It is very reasonable and despite all the recent price increases everywhere they have not put anything up. The staff are very caring and friendly. Thank you for such a lovely meal.

Booked this on a recommendation whilst staying at Grafham Water caravan club site for a few nights. Lovely food, good service. Curry were hot where intended and spicy. Staff extremely friendly and very good value for money. Was actually surprised how low the prices were.

Food OK but the service for takeaways is TERRIBLE really slow and constantly being told we are bagging your up now. Apparently it takes ove 30 minutes to bag up food. Won't return

Eat there with my son liam every other week or so always found bobby and his staff can't do enough to make your dining experience as faultless as possible. Food is always beautifully cooked and presented, 5 stars from me

The food from here is absolutely wonderful.

It was my partners birthday and he can be quite fussy but the food in this place was amazing. My 14 Yr old had the lamb shank and it just fell off the bone. The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enuf for us. You'll find this place along the sandy High Street and parking on the opposite side. Will definitely visit again ☺️

Visited with friends and could not help but contrast our visit to our visit to a five star restaurant the day before. Little things, like the table not being cleared of empty bottles, redundant side plates, etc. meant the table space kept getting smaller as...

To start with we struggled to find the entrance. A very strange set up. Ordered a bottle of wine from the menu and incorrect wine arrived. It seemed a task to get several members of staff to understand what I had ordered. Popadoms came with...

Had dinner here with friends who live in Sandy and who created the menu's for them and have to say it's probably the best Indian food I have ever had. The food flavours were absolutely amazing and there were all clean plates including the fussy kids. The owner was extremely friendly and was obviously passionate about making sure his customers were happy with the food and the value of the food with us living in a different county was unbelievable each main dish was at least two or three pounds cheaper but again the quality and flavour was much better than I had previously had

We had a booking on a Friday night. While there were a few tables being served, the service was horrendous. We got to our table and were waiting for 10 mins before taking our drinks order. No menus were given or asked if we wanted...

The food was really tasty and the staff where very polite, but the portion was small but expensive and we all left hungry still. There was 4 tables in the restaurant but our service was very slow and the food took forever to come. If you have a small stomach and a big wage packet then go as the food did taste nice.

So I bought a chicken balti 3 weeks ago and I cannot express the pain I’ve felt. I had severe diarrhoea and sickness from it and 3 weeks later I still can’t eat much as it goes straight through me. I would NOT RECOMMEND, unless you want the poo’s for 3 weeks+ :( I never leave bad reviews either

Service slow I was there an hour before I got food, there was only maybe 13 other people there, looked at strangely when I asked for a glass of water. Food portions could do with been a bit bigger but they were fine. Food tasty.
