never been here b4 .. the staff were really helpful , it was great to have some different foods to choose from ,so we ordered something different . cant fault anything . the quantity and quality was great . i loved both our curries . decor a bit drab but lovely food and staff . and believe me we know good food and we are very fussy .... Yesterday was Valentin day and we ordered food from here, but were very disappointed. Previously the food quality the taste of the dishes were excellent, but yesterday 14.02.2024 weren't excellent. The skin was left on the onion, we ordered dish with lamb meat and was with chicken was very oily🤮. One dish even they don't give for us! Very very disappointed! We will never again ordering food from here!☹️☹️👎👎👎

Consistently great food. Very good value for money anyway, and especially so on a Wednesday or Sunday when it’s 2 for 1 on mains. Highly recommend the Chicken Shashlik.

I have tried a few things from here now and it's all been great. We usually get the meal for two and have dishes from the chefs recommended items. Every one so far has been great. Lamb has always been tender and the chicken still moist and tasty Their rice's are lovely and they are great naans. Poppadoms are lovely too. Service is good and it's nice to see an open kitchen. I've never had to add seasoning to their food either which as an ex chef I really appreciate.

This was our first ever order from here. Got home and the order was wrong. All the curries were well below average. Needless to say we won't be going back.

This is the second time we have ordered from Indian View, and the meal was absolutely delicious. Everything was so freshly cooked and hot still by the time we got back to Walsham. I even had to call them to let them know how lovely it all was. Fantastic prices too , well done.

Very small portions. Lamb bhuna - half a container of runny soup type stuff with a few teeny cubes of meat it put me off. rice - okay Stuffed paratha - again small tasteless and was stuffed with nothing. Onion Bhajis - okay small portion I wanted to drive back to return it but another half hour round trip was prohibitive.

Absolutely love this place, I probably order from here at least every other week. The two for one deal they do is unrivalled anywhere else, and the quality of food is excellent. I'm pretty sure I've worked my way through the whole menu!

Nice but last takeaway rice was sloppy in water chicken was dry and burnt wasn't the same quality as it usually has been not impressed

I would like to say a big thank you for our meals they were superb the best Indian in Diss the service is excellent they will even cook your curry how you want it I don’t like mine to hot so they make it milder for me but not just for me for everyone thanks again Indian view

So much promise! Onion bhajis were really nicely cooked, lovely sauce, bhajis just lacked a little bit of salt. The special fried rice was the star of the show, absolutely beautiful, nice mix and amount of veg, chunky bits of egg and overall pretty perfect. The aloo gobi again pretty much spot on, nice flavour, nothing spectacular but good all the same. The garlic naan, let’s just say it’s so refreshing to have a garlic naan which actually tastes of garlic! This was really lovely, perfect flavour and exactly what it was supposed to be. Then came the chicken tikka dupiaza, which unfortunately just didn’t match the quality of the rest of the meal. Whilst the chicken tikka was moist, tender and lots of it, the sauce was the let down. It was an extremely thin, runny sauce, it needed thickening but the worst issue was how much it was over salted. Now I know I said the onion bhaji’s were lacking salt so some may read this as me being really picky and reasonable but I know my flavours and this dupiaza just wasn’t there tonight I’m afraid. This along with the really mushy over cooked peppers and the amount of cooked tomato, which made it seem more like a rogan josh or a bhuna this was just really disappointing compared with everything else. We all have off days, and I’m not going to slate the place for this. I’m open and honest, the rest of the meal was beautiful, it was ready when I arrived to collect, a great price and the guys in there were nice and friendly. If I’m in or around Diss for work again I won’t hesitate to give them another try.

The staff are grumpy but the food is very good although the portion size could be bigger... but it's a must visit !!

Love an Indian View takeaway night. We've always received lovely food with a decent ratio of meat to sauce, unlike some Indian takeaways. There is a wait sometimes, but it is worth it for hot food that has been freshly cooked in front of us!

Absolutely delicious, friendly staff and quick, efficient service! They make no issue of making a minor adjustment to something on the menu and the king prawns are out of this world! Can't recommend highly enough! Is also very good value for money if you make the most of the Sunday and Wednesday 2 for 1 offer, whilst still being reasonable on other days. Ordering one tonight and can't wait :)

I have just had a takeaway from Indian View, as a well seasoned traveller and connoisseur of Indian food, this was absolutely gorgeous. I ordered in advance and was told it would take 20 minutes, when I arrived 20 minutes later my meal was ready. Chicken Vindaloo was divine with just the right amount of spice, Butter chicken, spot on with all the sides I ordered also spot on. Not sure why some reviews critique the portion size as mine was as it should be. Well done and keep up the good work.

Brilliant traditional and fair priced delicious curries. I'm canny fussy when it comes to good tukka and Indian View dishes are some of the best ones around by miles.

Not a bad curry I suppose, I was hoping for better really after reading the reviews… I’ve eaten Indian food all around the world so nothing special about this place at all, but not bad. The tandoori chicken starter was not good at all, not cooked in a clay over I assume!

Great for vegans and vegetarians. If you tell them which you are, they will adapt the food for you… how good is that. Food is very good, service very good too. Would be great if they delivered, but this is a minor aspect :-)

The best Indian takeaway we have found. We actually travel further to use this one. Lovely fresh curries with great naan breads. Great view of the open kitchen. No fuss and frills just great curry.

Several times arranged a time to pick our food up ..like they say 40 mins we say no we give u an hour and wen we get there an hour later we still have a 10 min wait ..why ..?!

We’ve eaten from Indian View for a number of years and it is consistently great. Although we often take advantage of their promotional offers on Wednesdays and Sundays, we order on other nights too so I don’t understand why there are complaints about portion size. There’s always more than enough and cooked fresh to a high standard. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Having eaten Indian food from the age of 8, I can honestly say this is one of the best I have had, can't believe some of the reviews on here, rude staff, bad food, not from here I can assure you. We have a take away every Friday and have done for over a year now having tried all Indians in the local and surrounding areas even travelling into Norwich (Merchants Of Spice), this small take away knocks them all in to a cocked hat, can't recommend highly enough, keep doing what your doing Indian View, different class.

We decided to give them one final try after several oily and small portions using their “meal deal” we opted not to use the deal and paid full price. Well sadly we were again served with containers not even half full! The food was bland and everything tasted oily… The last time we went before this, my entire dish was full of chicken bone shards! I called to complain about our experience & I was shouted over and unable to explain as the owner/manager wouldn’t listen to me. I know of 6 other people who have had a similar experience & no longer go there. We have been using them regularly since they open, but the food has declined over time & sadly so has the service!

Lamb Rogan Josh was tough cubes of lamb in a tomato sauce without a single spiced flavour. Naan was completely burnt on one side and uncooked on the other and was soggy and stodgy, had to be thrown away. Tarka Daal was 90% oil and 10% lentil purée with strong flavour of uncooked garlic which was the only flavour to be had in all the dishes. Okra bhaji had two different textures of okra with again strong flavours of uncooked garlic. Ironically, okra was the most edible of them all. On complaining, we were told this is the way we cook, if you want Bangladeshi food you should go to Bangladesh. The guy on the phone was so rude and unapologetic. Surely, won’t go anywhere near this establishment. Avoid and run miles away if you don’t want massive disappointment and ruined evening. I’d have given 0 had I been able to. Dreadful

Against my better judgement I gave them a second chance, oh what a mistake..! Mixed grill terrible, potatoes inedible, overall the worst Indian I've had, I will be going to spice cottage or drive to Harleston to the Raj, never again, absolutely disgusting..!!

Really poor. Dried up/reheated potatoes, undercooked vegetables, seemed to be half portions of meat. Ruined my birthday meal. Will not be returning.

We only ever get a takeaway from here on Wednesday or Sunday evenings as they have a buy one get one free deal. The food is excellent quality and because of the deal cheaper than usual. About £30 for a meal for four including veg sides. I would buy the large size rice as these feed two and are only 50p more than the standard portions. The waiting time on Wednesdays and Sundays can drag on a bit, sometimes about 20 mins after the given time. I find it's worth it althoughit is worth phoning early and checking how long they say.They don't skimp on the portions at any time and are just as good when the deal is on. At full price this would be as good as any decent takeaway, at the offer price I haven't come across a better deal.

Good takeaway, open kitchen, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Personal favourites are Mass biran (fish), Rong puri, Naga masala, lamb Xacuti, and dal samba. Great paratha too. Very good with intolerances, and food allergies. Specifically gluten free, and dairy free.

As a family, we have had many a takeaway from Indian View. The food has been great and our pickup time has been sufficient. Today, they unfortunately had to loose our custom. The woman over the phone had told my Mother to hold on, which we did for 6 minutes until, what seemed like, the call was hung up. When we phoned back, my Mother explained that she had just waited when she was hung up on, to which the woman replied in a sarcastic tone that the phone would have simply cut out after that time. Explaining that we weren't happy about not being served (even though newer calls had been coming in and dealt with in the background) and acknowledging they were busy, yet we still shouldn't have been allowed to be cut off, the woman then came back to my Mother with "I will hang up on you!" Replying that we only wanted to order some food, the woman quickly took our order (with the likelihood of it not being written down by how fast she sped through our food) then only to be informed that we'd have to wait 2 hours! We are fully aware of the current situation, and that all takeaways have been having a difficult time. We'd like to support all that we can, however, not the Indian View. Not anymore. The two hour wait is absurd, and highly likely to have been made up out of anger and bitterness. I do not expect my Mother to be ignored and spoken to in such an aggressive manner at any time, especially not in her own home trying to order food. Great food, appalling service. Very disappointed.

Chicken was RAW! Pilau rice was like boiled rice and the cheese naan tasted like the cheese had been left out and rotten! First and last time I’ll be eating here!

The food is good and normally the service is too... But tonight after i have been sitting here waiting for over half an hour (after having rang through my order which i was told would be an hour..) waiting.... Just a little frustrated!!

We were surprised when we visited on a sunday evening to get a buy 1 main meal get one free...what a bargain we thought!!!! not so. The meal sizes we received were half that expected for a meal at £7.95. What was even more disappointing is that the chutney tray had been that weakend it was like dipping into a tasteless mass. The half size meals that we purchased from the chef's selection were 70% onion and 30% meat an were tasteless. Not an indian spice to be tasted. My opinion, give it I miss

Indian View is an excellent restaurant. It consistently offers some of the best Indian food i have eaten (including India and East London) A first class take away competing well in terms of quality with restaurants. It is good value (not the cheapest but never over priced) The staff are always friendly and delighted to please. I have made several special requests which are never too much trouble ( combination of flavour naan for example). Everything is cooked fresh and you can watch it being cooked. A real gem in a small market town. ( This is a sixth visit, so not a one off)

Found this by chance tonight, on the way back home after watching the worse film in history. And needed a pick me up, picked a meal for two persons - Wow amazing, and wonderfully delicious. I would highly recommend this place, we will be back to see you again. Thankyou.

Family weekend staying near Diss over Easter and tried Indian View as it had the best reviews, but were really disappointed. Ordered for the family and told it would be 30 minutes. We allowed 10 extra minutes before arriving to collect and greeted by a polite man who listed the order for payment, but realised they had got the order wrong and missed off three mains. We were told it wouldn't be long, but ended up waiting for a further 20 minutes without any updates. When it finally arrived there was no apology and we were just sent on our way. We got the order home to find that some dishes were luke warm and the naans were soggy, so it evidently hadn't been kept heated while we waited, and they also didn't include the sag aloo dish we'd ordered. To top it off, the chicken pokora batter was soggy and oily.Overall, a really bad experience. If you want Indian takeaway in Diss, avoid Indian View and try one of the others instead, it simply can't be as bad.

Ordered at 6pm on a saturday night so not a long wait when I went to pick food up (I have had to wait a while in the past).Chicken Tikka Massala and Chicken Bhuna along with garlic naans food was hot and good portions, some places you get lots of sauce not much meat but not with this meal.Overall enjoyable and I like the fact that you can see the kitchen.

What a good idea to have a special offer of two for one main course on a Sunday. We decided to try since very busy during the day and this would enable us to have an inexpensive supper with no washing up.

Nice tasting, nice naan but that’s about it! Chicken was tough as old boots! I had some strange watery, oil based substance left on my plate quite a lot of it! Think this is the worst Indian I’ve ever had! We also wasn’t given enough rice for two. Won’t be going back. Have taken picture incase I’m ill cos it all looked a bit dodgy!

the best Indian takeaway in diss.

I ordered a take away for one last week on a Friday when it was v busy. I had to wait a while for my order which was fine. Was dissapointed when I got home as the tandoori chicken was dry and the pilau rice was of a poor quality very small grains and not much flavour. The prawn puri bread was under cooked thick and stodgy, the spicey popadoms were good. The price was reasonable but I did not enjoy my food. I will go back to my Usual take away in Diss.

Fantastic takeaway meal. Full of fresh chillis and spices the tandoori mixed grill was the best I have had for many years in fact everything was of the highest standard will certainly be our regular takeaway from now on. Pity they do not deliver.

Personal amable, siempre servicial con opción. Estupendo ver una cocina en acción sobre el mostrador, el menú es muy original con lo que cocinar todos los ingredientes frescos de las ver cocinar. Una gran lista de platos principales y gran langostinos.

Sólo para llevar, pero superior al de las otras casas de curry Diss. Mejor primero a fin de teléfono y conseguir una ranura para recoger comida - como puede estar muy concurrido, especialmente en las noches, dos veces por semana a mitad de precio.

I have been using the curry houses in Diss for years and now only go to Indian View. The food is so tasty and they have dishes that you cant get in other places. I love the fact that you can see the Chef cooking your takeaway. I appreciate that you may not get as much curry as you do in other takeaways (the carton is not full to the brim) but, I prefer quality over quantity. Try their specials, awesome!

I have had more take aways from here than I can count. The food is consistently good. It's cooked in an open kitchen which is always reassuring. Some Indian take aways can be a bit same-y, where there doesn't seem to be much distinction between the different dishes, but I don't find that here. I am particularly fond of the Chicken Dansak.

I decided on this place based on the trip advisor reviews and went for a take out on a Sunday evening.It was busy although I was stunned when the friendly young man taking the orders, answered my question about how long it would take... 40 mins! One starter, main and nan bread!I made good use of the time and went to fetch the wife's fish and chips instead of waiting.I was surprised when I returned and had the opportunity to take a good look at the open kitchen whilst I waited for service... It was disgusting! How on earth they have got a 5 star hygiene rating I do not know. The curry was underwhelming, the aubergine pakoras were oil soaked and the bread under cooked in places.The icing on the cake was awaking in the night with a poorly tummy. Not impressed, I cannot recommend.The local council should look at the food hygiene rating of this place again.
