Taste of Raj in South Norfolk

Will definitely recommend for everyone who wants to have a quality food and offcourse taste. Also for those who want to have halal foods, must visit and enjoy the taste. And a very good staff and Manager Rahman. Would love to see you people again and again.

We always order a takeaway. But it is rare that we get the correct order, there are always items missing and it spoils the meal. Too expensive to run back credit is offered but this is just bad service. Wont be having take away here anymore.

Best Indian restaurant. They cater for dairy free. The dairy free lamb korma was amazing! Highly recommend!

I usually sneak in here for cheeky ruby in the week if I’m on my own and can’t be bothered to cook. The dishes here are tasty and well portioned, bursting with flavour and not greasy like other curry houses.

Take away only. We are staying close by for a long weekend and found Taste of Raj. Easy ordering, good freindly service and great food. Nothing to complain about. Keep it up and see you again.

Staff were OK, just busy I think .. we would of liked starter but was put off by the fact all starters and main dishes come out together. It was a Saturday night, so understandably quite noisy. Ambiance was nice though .. a nice table for two out of the way, was very much appreciated. Food was very good, tasty and hot as it should be. Service was quick too.

We celebrated a 60th birthday alongside family and friends with a gorgeous banquet of numerous and flavoursome dishes from Taste of Raj. Each were enthusiastically enjoyed & remarked upon fondly. Such a friendly greeting always meets you on entry to this great restaurant. The same professionalism is applied on collection of a takeaway too. Highly recommended.

The food was excellent. Having been to many Indian restaurants I have found few that compete. Whilst everyone races about a couple of big names in Norwich I would choose the Taste of Raj any day. The service was great and attentive. The town is small so parking is usually pretty easy (often right outside the building). Not being able to order alcohol on site may seem a downside but there is no challenge on bringing your own so it's not a show stopper. If anything it makes you focus more on the food. This is in my top 3 for Indian food dine in. Don't miss out - give it a try. With regard to wheelchair access, it's an old building, has some narrow access and small steps inside so best to check with them in advance.

Most welcoming and friendly restaurant and staff. I have ordered 2 takeaways now so far and both have been out of this world good. My 12 year old daughter now likes curry thanks to this place. Small restaurant in Harleston. Service was a little slow as they were very busy. Food was nice. You can take your own alcohol as they do not have a licence to sell it.

Came here in the way back from Norwich, were very pleasantly surprised. Considering we stopped off at short notice they booked us straight in for a table for two and provided us with a very good and tasty curly at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended taste of raj

Very friendly and welcoming serving high quality Indian cuisine. Good choice of main dishes from a menu that's not too overpowering but plenty of distinction. Need to bring own alcoholic drinks but not issue with supporting service.

Tried this Indian for the first time Friday. The front of house gentleman was so friendly, helpful and polite. Clearly lots of people use the restaurant regularly as he spoken to many customers on first name terms. We ordered a takeaway and it was ready within 15 minutes. Cosy waiting area, even had a bar in waiting area. Food was lovely!!! We had two chicken dishes and the flavour was incredible! I'm a bit fussy with saagaloo but it was so tasty. Will be back and soon! Hopefully go for an in restaurant meal next time.

Went there last night fri 13th. My wife booked wrong day but they were great and found us a table. Service was top notch . Food was great . Couldn't fault anything . Will defo go back.

We are visiting friends in Strabroke and collected a take away, the food arrived right on time. My wife had a Chicken Biryani, veg sauce and we shared a Chana Sag side dish, I had the mixed starter followed by the Chicken Nepali and Nan bread. The starter was acceptable but the Chana Sag was excellent and the Chicken Nepali was very good ( do request a proper vindaloo if this is what is required). My only issue was the Nan, I ordered the garlic Nan online and I didn't check the receipt but it stated Cheese Nan, either way it didn't taste like a cheese Nan and it was quite small especially priced at £3.25. I make my own nans and these are very cheap to make, my local indian supply a nan bread twice the size for less money! Please do not let the nan issue put you off as the food is very good as is the service. The staff were also very friendly. Certainly worth a visit.

Visited with my brother, sister in law, nephew & mum for my 10 yr old nephew's birthday. From the time we entered to when we left they couldn't have been more welcoming. The food was lovely & hot. Didn't have to wait long for it to come once ordered. They fo have a small selection of English food if you don’t eat Indian food, which I don't but couldn't disappoint my nephew. They haven't sold alcohol here since reopening after lockdown but you can take your own. Your not allowed to take don't drink in as they do sell those. When we were leaving again the staff was very pleasant. I would definately recommend trying here.

Nice enough Indian restaurant. They allowed you to bring your own alcohol and they provided the glasses. It was a Friday night and quite busy, so some of the service was a bit slow. I felt like I didn't have enough elbow room at the table. Some cubes of my "succulent lamb" were a bit chewy and although I chose a medium spicy dish I thought some of the flavours were a bit bland.

Extremely good experience here, visited twice whilst in the area. Food is top quality, but the staff really take the trophy. Customer service is excellent. Will definitely recommend and visit again!

Visiting the area for a couple of days and came across Taste of Raj on google after reading the reviews decided to go for a meal. Absolutely 1st class from the moment you walk through the door, hosting, service and food all faultless, and the best chicken tikka iv ever had.

Sorry to slate a business with a bad review but felt I had to in this instance. Myself and 5 friends went fishing for the week locally and thought we would treat ourselves to a nice curry on our last night. Googled local curry houses this one had fantastic reviews so placed our order and drove down to collect. Well I have to say and everyone agreed it was the worst curry any of us had ever had. It was like processed chicken in a tomato soup. We all had different dishes from Dhansak- chicken tikka balti- chicken vindaloo with the exception of a korma all looked and tasted the same with no trace of any spices. However the one star was for the Naan bread delish……

We were visiting the area and found this little gem of a very good Indian Restaurant. We are vegan and the staff catered for our diet very well. They were attentive, informative and really lovely. The curries we ordered were absolutely amazing for taste and authenticity and the prices were very reasonable. I throughly recommend Taste Of Raj and wish we lived nearer!

We had such a delicious meal here whilst on holiday in Suffolk. The waiters were so attentive and really reassuring when asked about dishes suitable for vegans! If I was local I’d definitely come back here for the delicious food, and the friendly service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really really disappointed this time we've always had such a pleasant experience this time the keema nann dident taste like a keema tasted like plainish mince in an undercooked nann , the lamb madras was very small 7 bits of meat very very disappointed has really put us off of coming here again such a disappointment as we've always enjoyed such lovely food here.

Visiting the area and ordered large selection of food! On time, piping hot and beautifully prepared. We all enjoyed every mouthful. 5 out of 5!

We probably get take away from here every other week and have done for the past three years since moving here. The quality of the food and the service never ceases to impress and is nothing short of outstanding. If you like spicy, try the Lamb Nepali with coconut rice; absolutely delicious. So delicious in fact that I have seldom ever ordered anything else.

Have been going here for many years and I can honestly say it is the best Indian restaurant that I have ever been to. The food is absolutely top notch whether you're after spicy or mild they've got a massive range of different dishes and sides. The staff are all incredibly friendly especially the manager.

First time back at the Taste of Raj since lockdown. Just as good as ever! Lovely service, they always remember you and greet you by name, and the food was excellent as always. So glad they have come through the pandemic and we can still make the trip to our favourite curry house - not our nearest, but definitely the best.

Visiting Harleston for a weekend from London. My partner and I have just had dinner at the Taste of Raj on their first night opening for inside dinning since the COVID lockdown restrictions were lifted and 10/10 would recommend. The staff are helpful and friendly, the service was brilliant (even when they are obviously busy) and the food was even better! If we were a local we would definitely become regular customers!.

Wow...Best curry I've had in a long while 😋 can't wait to move to the village to experience many more.

We are a regular customer here, but have to say that tonight was a bit of a disappointment regarding our order tonight. Spent £30 for just the two of us and we only live two miles from the restaurant. We were on time to pick up our takeaway, five minutes before they said, but when we got home, had to microwave the curry, as that was cold. Not impressed to be honest, a bit of a let down.

Been using The Taste of Raj for years, the food is always amazing!! Whether dining in or having a takeaway, it's always brilliant. Would HIGHLY recommend. Also, we MUST endeavour to support this fab food & these lovely staff during very difficult times.

Fancied a take away and heard good things so thought we'd give it a go. Meal for 4 ordered, not the cheapest.However whilst eating the Chicken Shashlick noticed it was raw,the chunks were big and didn't look like the usual charred, since then a night of illness followed.We contacted the restaurant by phone (didnt seem too bothered) then 2 emails without reply. So I thought let's put it out there! you need to check your meat if the chunks are big open them up. Il not be returning.

We got takeaway on the last night of a week’s stay in Harleston following a recommendation from some local folk in a coffee shop. It was superb - wonderfully tasty curries, piping hot and generous portions with plenty of good quality meat. If we lived locally, we would be in here all the time.
