We were visiting Norfolk for a few days over the bank Holiday weekend, most of the local eateries were closed or very busy, but we managed to get a table at the Duke of Delhi. What a find! Possibly one of the best Indian meals I have ever had. The service was great, the food exceptional and although pricier than most Indian restaurants, well worth the money. We will definitely revisit if in the area again

Just got home from the restaurant and what more can we say delightful surroundings, superb service and the most delicious food. We highly recommend this restaurant if you love Indian cuisine.

If you have any sense you would spend your money at Ali tandoori’s, they have ambience, good service and really nice Indian cuisine. This place was awful and we only booked for a birthday event based on google reviews after driving by recently. It was awful, service terrible and place needs a major refurb. We spent a lot of money, a very disappointing experience.

Tried out this restaurant tonight for the first time and ordered a takeaway. We had been looking for a good Indian restaurant as we had become disappointed with our former regular. We were not disappointed! The food was another level, so good and incredible quality, fresh, good portion sizes too! We will 100% be back. Highly recommended

From arrival to leaving, it was (as always) a fantastic experience. The staff are polite and courteous. The food is incredible. The price is right.

Always friendly, and great service, both takeaway and dining

Within walking distance of our AirBnB which was fab but also near for friends to join us too. We had amazing food but the only negative was how many times we were asked about ordering! Our friends had only just been seated when the first question was posed, we chatting so they hadn't even looked at the menus when the 2nd & 3rd questions came...when the popadoms were first served, "would you like to order?". Each time we said we would give a wave when we were ready, but they kept coming🫣 Several more times the question was posed, as the mound of popadoms were consumed & we chatted. It is no exaggeration that we were asked more than 12 times by different front of house staff if we wanted to order. It was becoming annoying. Funnily when we were ready to order they were not ready to write it down😆 Then we were plating our food & were asked if we were enjoying our meals...we all looked at one another amazed because none of us had had an opportunity to even get a fork to our mouths at that moment😏 However that slight grumble aside the meal was amazing & the left overs were enjoyed the following evening too 😃 Great value for money, definitely somewhere we would revisit👍🏻

I’ve been there many times excellent service excellent food make you feel very welcome. Never had to complain about anything even a complimentary drink from them when we leave. Excellent would recommend them to anybody.

I have been several times before, but this time I went with my husband, sister and brother in law. None of them had ever been before and I had told the. M how good it was. They were all very impressed with the staff who as always were very attentive, the food, which as always was delicious, but also the whole atmosphere, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

I was the first customer through the door at 5pm. Ordered chicken shashlik and boiled rice, the food appeared and looked good, but when i ate the first piece of chicken the taste was odd, so i tried a second piece and understood the chicken was badly undercooked, i complained they said the chef said the chicken was correct. They refused to really accept responsibility that i had eaten one whole piece of under cooked chicken and a bite from a second, i will know in a short while no doubt if i have got food poisoning… i pray i dont. I offered to pay for the drink and nan bread, but on reflection why should i pay for bad food and the potential of feeling ill later today, so i then refused to pay for the meal fullstop, they got very angry and insisted i pay. They dont care about customers or bad service, they just want your money and as much as they can grab. I have eaten before here, but i am shocked when they are in the wrong they dont really care and its all about money not the customer. Please dont use them ,they will only learn by effecting the pocket.. nothing else seems to matter.

We usually love getting a takeaway from here! The food tastes great & the service is amazing! Unfortunately, our most recent takeaway wasn't great. The chicken had that rubbery texture that so many other takeaway restaurants have. It was as though they'd changed the ingredients or had a different chef? My husband and I had quite a stomach ache after eating it. This never happened before. The breads were very small. It was quite off putting seeing the front of house staff member - walking around, clutching her stomach in pain during her shift. I worried she may have been unwell. I don't think it looks good for customers coming in to be greeted by someone who's in pain. What's happening here? Its usually such a great place to get an Indian takeaway from.

It has been several months since we had a meal here. Sadly we were disappointed as after the main meal we were pretty much left alone in the conservatory. No waiters checking if we wanted a dessert, more drinks or coffee. More recently we had a takeaway and it very disappointing. Upon collection they first brought out the wrong food then once home we discovered they did not provide enough poppadoms! The chicken slimy and whilst cooked it as only just cooked through and lacked taste. The quality of service and food has really reduced over the years and we are now very unlikely to return and cannot recommend any more.

Had a take away this evening . Food was extremely bland..think the chef had forgotten to use ANY spices at all! Very dissapointed

Takeaway but great food as always

we have always enjoyed takeaways from Duke of Delhi, however the food is even better when you eat in the restaurant, and the service is attentive but not intrusive. We are lucky enough to live so close...takeaways will be a thing of the past!

We come here once a year while staying at Dunston Hall and it's a true gem! 5 mins drive, amazing service, great atmosphere and lovely staff. Super attentive and welcoming. Food a great too....prawn puree is our favourite starter and doesn't disappoint. Love it here!

Monday night curry and what a great restaurant. Friendly and prompt service with fantastic food. The menu had some great options, signature dishes and traditional classics. In terms of flavours, the food was excellent. Great evening - definitely worth a visit.

It's rare that the atmosphere has more spice than the food. This place is an insult to Indian cuisine. I ate here with 4 others. The atmosphere was great, the service was fine, and the food was pure diabetes. I am not sure how you make Butter Chicken taste like Gulab Jamun. That's probably the closest any of our food got to flavor. The food has probably never seen a proper masala base. Avoid if you like authentic Indian style food. Go here if you want a savory dessert. Parking is free though.

I absolutely love this place. Every time I come here, every aspect of the meal is perfect! This time I had three side dishes along with the people I was with and all of them were amazing as usual. For my main I had the vegetable korai and a peshwari naan, all of which were excellent as usual. There were some new staff (I haven't been for a while) and I'm pleased to say that the service was up to it's usual high standard. Can't wait to come back again....if only I lived closer!

Great food great value for money..

First night out for a meal in a while and this place made it worth it! Food was fantastic and plentiful and for a good price. Sat in the conservatory and it was lovely and warm and comfortable xx

Staff are kind and lovely and very hospitable. Ordered a takeout and unfortunately, a lot of the food was half warm half cold, which was a poor job of microwaving bits of curry and biriyani. The tandoori platter was gorgeous however but the curries, naan, rice weren’t flavourful at all. We had to warm up a lot of the stuff at home. I think next time, we’d eat inside the restaurant as that may be better than takeaway.

I'm so sorry to write this but the food was utterly shocking! The three of us went out for a birthday meal. One of the starters was cold in the middle and sent back, followed by my main meal which the chicken tasted off and was so hard, as were the potatoes in the sag aloo, and as for the tarka dahl, it was tasteless and powdery in texture. When I tasted my partners food, it tasted like a curried lime pickle!!! The chapati was rock solid...I mean come on guys, the night was utterly ruined, and by this stage we didn't want replacement dishes, just wanted to go home!! Service was great but there should have been more knocked off the bill. Utterly ruined our special evening that we were highly looking forward too, especially after these raving reviews.... The service is great, great atmosphere, but the food was absolutely not fit for consumption!!

Used to be really good but we've stopped going as the food is not as good. Everything is covered in a highly coloured sauce which has a different flavour, wondered if they have changed their cheff? Shame as used to love it here. Always great food and atmosphere 🙂

Overall worth a visit if you like Indian food, but maybe avoid Friday / Saturday night as it can get pretty busy, and the table service can suffer

The food tastes just devine. Flavour of the spices was amazing. The Deco is really nice. If your looking for good Indian food this is the place.

Food and service is always incredible. I give council however to ensure you pay by card as sterling has the ability to disappear within the walls of the Duke of Dheli

Thought we'd try this place due to awards and reviews. Food was decent for what it was but the "medium hot" balti was completely devoid of any spice heat at all, so misdescribed. We also felt some prices were on the high side, especially bhajis and beer. My reason for reviewing though is to make potential new customers aware of the (frankly unusual) 10% service charge. As far as I can see this isn't stated anywhere on the menu. I'd suggest either raising all prices by 10% or highlighting the service charge to give transparency in pricing to customers - only fair. Having said that - a nicely decorated, clean restaurant and helpful staff with good quality food.

Our favourite Indian. Service is always quick and friendly, the food is great, the portion sizes are massive! Loved the mixed tikka platter, chicken was so juicy!

Wife and I were on a mid week break and dropped in for dinner without booking. Whole experience was really good There is ample parking. The restaurant was busy, but after a few minutes were shown to a table. All the food was really nice. The chicken Dansak was in a rich source and the meat tender, while my wife's chicken dish was equally good, plus the portions were generous. Added to that the service was friendly and efficient. We have some good Indian restaurants where we live. The Duke of Delhi is up there with the best. We will certainty visit again if we are in the area. Can be recommended.

Unfortunately this is the only Indian in the area unless you fancy driving all the way into Norwich. I found it quite expensive and a bit bland. My wife said the Chicken Tikka was not cooked properly so she didn't eat it. I ordered a collection order and they said it would be 15 minutes so I left and 5 minutes before I arrived they were calling me asking how long I would be. No idea why but quite rude. Also normally you get free poppadoms with an Indian but it just seems you get the minimum on the order. Also they didn't listen t my requests for thick sauce and was runny like a soup. Also the pricing of the bahjis is to much it is not worth the money at all. Hopefully somewhere else will open up as I'm having to drive to Wymondham to get my Indian now which is a massive pain but much better and cheaper ( even costing the fuel)

Visited last night after reading reviews and were not disappointed. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive with a nice atmosphere and the food was delicious. Lamb dupiaza and lamb methi were both really tender and very tasty, but we would maybe ask for slightly spicier next time. The king prawn Bhuna was spot on; pretty spicy but full of flavour rather than burning my mouth! We will definitely be back.
