Pure Spice in South Norfolk

As a family we ordered various dishes. One dish was a vegetarian korma for a strict vegetarian member of the family. Half way through the dish chicken was discovered! Too late and had to be spate out. Contacted the owner a number of times. He refused to apologise, refund money or do anything to rectify the dreadful experience.

Do not go near this place! Ordered a take away only to find lumps of chicken in veggie korma dish. Tried several times to speak to owner who wouldn't return calls. Spoke to him two weeks later and described situation. No apology and refused refund saying that he would give me another dish! Simply not good enough. The food that was edible was pretty poor too. If you're looking for a decent Indian try Dilraj in Loddon.

Very poor service both on line and on the phone. Waited over three hours for a takeaway to be delivered. No sense of apology or recompense. I will not use this takeaway again and I advise others not to either to avoid disappointment. Shame because the curry is very good and they are letting themselves down!!

Always good food, but it's best to order in advance by phone. Portion size? … well as often as not there's a full meal left for tomorrow, especially if you are trying to pretend you've still go a waist!

I cannot stress enough how helpful and understanding this takeaway have been regarding my daughters allergies- they are able to prepare me a dairy, egg, nut and coconut (yep coconut) free curry with no drama whatsoever; the latest time they actually CALLED US BACK to confirm a detail. They are wonderful and the food is delicious to boot, I feel so lucky this is my local. Thank you

Ordered a £40 meal from Pure Spice for delivery. 50 minutes later, the order arrived with items missing, although charged. After much debate, a replacement was organised. Another 30 minutes, the meal arrived, but still they still managed to get it wrong. Another phone call only to be told (at 10pm) that the driver has finished and they had no way of getting the meal to me. Asked for refund and was told they can not authorise a refund and that I need to speak to the owner. After repeated calls over the next week, told the owner will be in the next day, told me a note has been left for him, told he will be calling me and told that he is in Bangladesh and it is unknown when or if he will be back. The sheer arrogance of the staff on the calls was beyond shocking. As for the food, the quality was average. l would like to say it was poor, but even though the meal was incorrect, the small amount we tried was average. I will say that there are a lot better options that cover the area and use good quality meats and vegtables and provide a far more efficient service. In summary, average food, slow delivery and the worst customer service I have ever received to date. The only positive I can say about Pure Spice is the delivery driver was a nice person.

Good food! Sometimes a wait, but its worth it. Plan ahead and order via telephone !

Ordered a Chicken Rogan Josh and the Mrs ordered a Chicken Korma, both with rice and peshwari naan’s. They did taste nice but my partner and I were sick multiple times a few hours later. Probably should have checked the food hygiene rating before I ordered.

Have had food delivered by Pure Spice on many ocassions and whilst the food isn't the best, it is OK and the fact that they deliver means we often choose them - not any more! Ordered food for 2 at 6.15pm and asked for this to be delivered at 8pm - thought this was plenty of notice particularly for a small order (£28 though!) At 8.30pm my husband phoned to ask where our order was and he was told the driver had left 5 minutes ago - no apology given. Food still not arrived 30 mins later (it is a 15 min trip) so I called this time - without asking for my name or address I was told the food would be with us in 10 minutes (how could he possibly have known when he didn't know which order he was talking about - obviously a stock answer so be warned! He couldn't ID by phone number as we are ex-directory) , then another person came on the phone and I was told they didn't actually have an order for us, then the manager spoke to me and said the driver couldn't find our house (they take your phone number for this reason but they didn't call!). He then offered to deliver and charge us less (should obviously have been at no charge) and said it would be with us in 15 minutes - I queried how hot the food would be after all this time and he assured me it woukd be OK. I can't say if it was hot or not because it didn't turn up! Absolutely appalling and we will not be giving them our custom again!

We have used Pure Spice for about two years now and found their food to be of a good standard, however we will not be using them again. We called to order some food to be delivered and were told the wait would be 1 hour 20. I told them that we did not wish to place an order in that case. I was then told that they could deliver in an hour, so we placed our order. After an 1 hour 30 we called to check where our order was and we were told it would be another 20 minutes. We were very frustrated by the point. Eventually, 2 hours after ordering, our food arrived. When I complained I was offered money off our next order. As we won’t be using them again we declined this was pointless. Perhaps if they had offered a partial refund, or even called to explain the delay we would have seen some commitment to customer service. But they didn’t and didn’t seem to care about their poor customer service at all. We won’t use them again

Ordered food for collection and was told it would be twenty minutes. Turned up and it was apparent they had not started cooking it, they were in a complete muddle and far behind with orders. It was a forty minute wait for the food to be ready and a customer who had come in to place an order had his food in ten minutes while I was sitting waiting. I was told that the orders got muddled but this is totally not acceptable. I was given two free poppadoms but that in no way compensated for the errors and delay. If I had wanted poppadoms I would have included them in the original order. The vegetable curry with the biryani was mostly potato but overall the food was ok. To add insult to injury I was given an old £1 coin in my change. I will not return to this establishment.

Great takeaway - tasty dishes. Deliver to our door. Had a particularly good sag paneer this evening. Staff on phone and delivery guys always very friendly.

My sister found GLASS in her curry and a lady on the counter was reluctant to give a full refund. Luckily another member of staff was more responsible, but still a disappointing experience.

Yo era un cliente habitual hasta ahora! Deshecha la última orden, así me dijeron la correcta era 10 minutos 30 minutos más tarde llegó la otra buena pero se arruinó así nos dijeron que nos traerían otro orden pero son exstremly lleno, así sería de 1 hora y 30 minutos! ! Así que finalmente conseguimos nuestra comida el orden correcto sobre las 9. 15 después de ordenar que a las 6 de la tarde? !

We nearly always order a meal for two, very tasty not too expensive and they do local delivery! Next door is also a great kebab house if any of your party don't like Indian food.

Some dishes aren't bad (pathia, balti), but some are terrible (tikka masala). There's not a lot of choice around here so as long as you like what they do well you're OK!

Delivered every time and the lady call taker is lovely!!! Food is fab as well and always HOT, Loads better than `St Stephens' Michelle & Bill ~x~

We have never been here before, thought we would give it a try, wish I hadn't. The food was slow, we got home and both curries tasted like they had come in a ready meal, the rice was cold and naan bread soggy. Not exactly what I would of thought when I paid £25 for 2 curries, a rice and a naan bread.

We have had two takeaways from Pure Spice and both have surpassed our expectations. The place is pretty unpretentious but the food is really excellent and our experience has been consistently good. Recommended.

placed a order of around 30 for delivery and found 3 hairs in my lemon rice naan bread was cold phoned up to get told about recieving discount next time even after it had put me off my meal, Didnt even get offered a replacement instead went to the chinese 3 shops down stay clear 1st time using and never again.

Best Indian food in Norwich. Quality and tasty. Friendly and quick service. Everyone in Poringland lucky to have take away like this. I visited my family in Norwich and we thought give a try. If i go again definitely we know where to go.

This is our local Indian/ Bangladeshi take away and it is good food. The problem is the price. For a curry and rice it is around £10.00. Add bread and sides onto that and your talking over £50 for four people which is way too much for takeaway. I think others feel the same because it is never very busy. I am not ruled by price when buying something but it needs to be justified and I would rather use someone else and save money because although the food is good so are many others.

Nice hot meal with plenty of flavour, only used twice but happy to return for more

Phenomenal food, I've just finished a Meat Madras with Keema Rice and it was fantastic! Very friendly lady on the counter too.
