We thought to try this restaurant after seeing it had won an award for great food locally & wow, it was absolutely deserved. Beautiful, flavourful dishes at a good price too! Would recommend for anyone looking for a good Indian dinner in Hertford! ☺️

Where do I even start. Food . Amazing. Service. Outstanding. Staff. Excellent. I could not recommend this place enough! To begin, I loved the mango chutney sauce with the poppadoms. I , a lover of spice opted for the lamb nagari with naan , it was so yum ! The staff were very accommodating and good with recommendations so if you haven’t tried Indian food before don’t be afraid to give it a taste. The atmosphere was great with splendid music , not too loud. Great selection of drinks. Location is great , easy to get to. Everyone else eating was having a great time and seemed to also be enjoying their food. Thank you ! I’ll be back for sure!

Excellent curry with a vast amount of spices. Mr. Kobir Miah was a nice person. He suggested good food and the man called Taj was generous.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ginger Bar and Restaurant and I must say, it was an experience to remember. Firstly, the atmosphere walking in is super inviting. The lights set an ambiance, perfect tone for our evening. Secondly, the service was impeccable. The staff were so friendly and attentive. They gave us a couple of recommendations and it definitely did not fail to impress us! Finally, the food!! They have a wide variety of starters and meals but we couldn’t go wrong with a Chicken Tikka Biriyani, Onion Bhaji, Butter Chicken with some Naan. They were cooked to absolute perfection - tender, flavourful and presented beautifully. The tantalising tastes melting in my mouth every bite. We finished off with some dessert. I cannot recommend Ginger Bar and Restaurant highly enough and we can’t wait to go back and try more exquisite dishes. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place to be!!! Thank you so much for the amazing evening!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Was in Hertford for a little and came here based on a friend's recommendation. The wait (without a reservation) was shorter than expected. The service was OUTSTANDING! The server was so knowledgeable about every ingredient in every dish.The manager Kabir and his team was really kind and polite . Their recommendations were perfect. We had the biryani ,dip, Garlic nan , chicken tikka and a couple other dishes. All 10/10. Will be returning next time I'm in town for sure!

Home delivery curry full of large chunks of uncooked onion, what was supposed to be a jalfrezi was clearly a tikka chicken base with just a few uncooked chillies thrown into it and rushed out for delivery. Very disappointing.

It's a delicious curry, particularly the golden onion bhaji! They're always on time or early too.

Food tasted good, but yet again cold. When your paying for a takeaway please please transport with hot boxes, I don't have a microwave to reheat which made my first experience with this restaurant and just eat not a great one, most of it went in the bin, waste of money

This is my local and we love it here. The takeaways are always good and very hot. They are very consistent with their dishes and we even try different items which we don’t usually do with an Indian takeaway! We shall be coming for the Sunday Buffet soon!

We were here when it was quiet. The service was excellent and the food was both tasty and ample. Despite the fact that it is outside the centre, I would happily recommend coming here, it is far less busy, and the staff can be far more attentative being away from the busy town centre

Used to be a good place with good food and nice portions, now it’s a waste of money. It’s a puller down place, you order stg and they will give you maybe a few bits of about what you’ve ordered and tons of half cooked rice. Avoid! As soon as they know what you like, they will pull you down with the food. I live 70 meters from it and I won’t order anything from there ever again. This was about the 4th time they’ve pulled me down, not in a row but they are definitely playing around.

My boyfriend and I love Indian food and we can confidently say that this place has some of the best curries we’ve ever had! This time we had a chicken tikka masala and a chicken pasanda and both were excellent. One of many great meals we’ve had here and always good service :)

I’ll keep it short and sweet service was great and food was amazing overall an enjoyable night with my family. A restaurant to definitely to come back to, had a great time highly recommended.

The restaurant was not busy but the service was chaotic, First, we were asked for our drinks order before we were given a wine list. Then we ordered poppadoms, starters and mains but the starters arrived before the poppadoms! Food was at best average, on the bland side. Won't be going back. Also, staff were wearing their masks barely covering their mouths, never mind their noses!

Ordered for delivery at 19:30 and arrived 19:00 while we were putting the kids to bed. Quite annoying as it was getting cold by the time we were ready to eat. Also, one of the lamb dishes arrived as chicken…

Food is very standard with not much flavour. Not the most welcoming environment. Needs a new decor.

Birthday meal this evening for 8 people. Service and food was excellent. Even had a free baileys and brandy offered at the end of the meal for everyone. Have used ginger many times over the years and highly recommend.

We have had a takeaway from Ginger four times now and enjoyed every single one. Ordering online is easy, delivery is prompt and the food is delicious. Some curries are better than others, but that may just be personal preference! The rice is always cooked perfectly, the naan bread is light and fresh, the onion bhajis and saag aloo are just lovely! We really enjoy our food from here and will continue to return in the future.

Two of the dishes, the lamb and Saag were devoid of flavour. Extremely bland. So disappointing for a Saturday night meal.

Went here for lunch, billed as a buffet, but it was more of a set meal that gets brought to your table. The food was good, as was the service, the price for this repast was also very fair.

Lovely food ,and staff so nice and friendly,will definitely be going back. However it was so cold in there I had to keep my coat on ,so won't be going back until spring .

Food is just okay nothing special. All curries had huge amounts of thick cut pieces of onion and hardly any meat. Delivery driver was very nice and food delivered on time but i wont order from here again.

Had a takeaway last night. Chicken very poor. Chewy and clearly been cooked a while before. Really did not enjoy this meal. Lukewarm when arrived

We have dined at the Ginger twice before and on both occasions had a good meal. This time we had a takeaway and were somewhat disappointed. Three of us had chicken Shaslic, which was very good and two of us had a side dish vegetable curry, which was not. I asked for my one Madras hot but it came the same as the other, very mild. And both curries were like a bowl of soup with one bit of potato, some onion and peas. Had we been dining in it would have gone back. As it is, with the number of high quality Indian restaurants in the area it is unlikely that we will rush back.

Really enjoyed our night there. One tiny thing is the lamb in the curry was a little tough but appart from that highly recommend. Overall the food was delicious and very good value.

Flavour of the Naga was good as was the rice dishes and saag aloo. However the chicken in the passanda tasted and had the texture of Turkey. It was tough which is surprising considering the delivery time. The food arrived 18 mins after ordering. The restaurant is a 3 minute drive away so a freshly cooked and packaged meal in 15mins that’s grossly over cooked? I think not!! Won’t be ordering again.

Great food! It's become our go to Indian restaurant in Hertford.

Delivery was very quick & early. A bit disappointed. Ordered the starter for 2 which was very small as were the samosas. The lamb pasanda was tasty but the lamb was a bit chewy. The Lamb Shatkora was OK but chicken not lamb & no discernable citrus taste.

Overall flavours were good but the chicken in both meals was very over cooked and tough

Booked a place, turned up, found the place closed, tried to ring, no answer. Then after a while one of the staff rang me saying they closed today without any regards to booking they are committed to. Jokes. Never will be there again. No wonder is empty every time I go there. No smoke without fire, this reckless behaviours and disregard to your customers says a lot.

The best Indian in Hertford by far Being based near Hertford North its not my closest but we'll worth it, either to travel or get a delivery I have deliveries most of the time and the food is always on time prepare with passion and quality. The worst curry I've ever had, infact the worst takeaway I've ever had. We were so sad. The chicken madras sauce was watery, once you got to it under a thick layer of oil. The chicken pieces were dry. Chana massala, saag aloo and samosas had no flavour.

First time I've tried Ginger and really liked it. I ordered my "usual" to compare and thought the food was better than others in the area. I'll be trying more dishes in the future

In all my over 70 years of eating fish and chips have I been wrong in that the main ingredient of this dish is FISH? When the meal came it looked good but cutting into it starting at the end there was only batter. Not surprisingly I ventured further into the middle of the supposed fish there was virtually just more batter and not even very nice batter. Did the Chef just photograph a fish and stick it inside to try to fool us and make sure there was something white there? My sister had the same dish and left hers'. I did finish my meal as It could have meant going for the rest of the day without eating. If this Chef did make this meal they should never be allowed in a Kitchen again. I do however wonder whether this is the Chain's instructions? Eating should be a nice experience including eating together and even if I had complained straight away would have upset a mood of four people and at best left me eating on my own while the others watched me Although the server was okay at the minimum she should have informed the manager who could at least have had the decency to come and grovel. I dont live local like my sister but people of Ware beWare of what they have done to our national dish.
