Ashoka in East Hertfordshire

ordered the same as last time. slight variation in flavour. was not a problem and still extremely tasty. delivered on time and piping hot. As before I will definitely order from here again.

My first time ordering from Ashoka and my delivery was accidentally delivered to the wrong address. I called the restaurant and explained that I haven’t received my order and they were very apologetic and re made my order fresh. The food was delicious and I will definitely be ordering again

Food was absolutely delicious and 15 minutes earlier excepted so that was fantastic! Hot, and the best Indian around by far!

Amazing food and arrived earlier than expected!

Nice curry and delivered within an hour of ordering. I like the fact the App gives you an idea of when it will arrive. We don’t get take-out often but using Just Eat makes it so easy.

Usually have excellent meals from Ashoka, not sure if they’ve got a new chef in but quality of the food was terrible, such a shame.

Great speed but chilli paneer barely cooked- inedible! Murgh masala and naan nice but perhaps the whole package wasn’t worth £21 inc. £3 delivery!

Food is delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Delivered very quickly. Excellent Indian takeaway. I'll be ordering again for sure

Not sure if the chef has changed, but the dupiaza had large chunks of onion and pepper in which didn't feel cooked through enough like a nice sweet deep cooked onion should for this dish and also seemed to have a watered down sauce which was not that tomato in flavour. The chicken tikka balti is now more spicy, which it wasn't the many times we've had it before and my girlfriend couldn't eat it. Bit of a shame since we've ordered from there quite a few times.

I used to order regularly from this company but they must have changed the chief, the curry was what I can only describe as tasteless with chicken that was the worse I’ve ever had.

Yet again another great takeaway from Ashoka. I don't believe there has been a single time in the years I have lived nearby that I have had one bad takeaway, late delivery or anything to moan about. A great tasty meal, delivered exactly on time, I mean to the minute... Friendly and helpful at all times and I really enjoy ordering and enjoying the food from Ashoka. I must come in to the restaurant at some point! Keep up the good work!!

Stale popadoms, onion bhaji raw and gooey in the middle and tough chicken. Very disappointing, will not be using them again

** INCOMPETENCE AT ITS VERY BEST - AVOID THIS RESTAURANT ** Ashoka restaurant has been our go-to for many years for our takeaway Indian, but recent experiences have left a sour taste. On multiple occasions, items were missing from orders, notably on Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, two occasions when reliability matters most. Upon reaching out to the restaurant about the recurring issue, their response lacked concern, merely promising to send the missing items—which arrived 20 minutes later, cold. While mistakes are forgivable, the consistent errors and indifferent attitude speak to a level of incompetence that's hard to overlook. It's has been impossible to have an stress-free meal from Ashoka, and as of today they lose a loyal customer.

Our go to Indian! Never fails us and always satisfying. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I know places get busy, but I do think they should let people know what sort of a wait time they are in for, we waited just over two hours for our food and it also was cold when it arrived when I called after an hour and a half of waiting I wasn't offered anything for my inconvenience not even an apology not really good enough in my opinion....

Second time we have use this restaurant both time we had to chase the order will not be using them again food ok but past caring as it was so late

The onion Bahjis are the best I have ever had!!!! First time ordered from them Saturday and again tonight 😂, they are huge, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside….they are a meal alone!! I live off the beaten track and have to walk a few hundred meters to the nearest rd, Ashoka now leave it in my car and text me when delivered 👌. Great service and friendly team, delivered five minutes earlier than stated!! Good communication.

Food hot and tasty, except the onion bhaji which were really thick and had uncooked onions/ batter in the middle. Usually they are thinner and tender. Other than that, food and service were good

normally they are pretty good but tonight we had to wait two and half hours. over one and half hour late

Oil and more oil. Two of the greasiest and blandest curries we’ve ever had delivered. The description of the Murgh Masala failed to mention the vast quantity of tomato being its main ingredient in addition to ghee. The chicken Bhuna didn’t deserve to be called a curry, it was chicken in a thick oily gravy with no hint of spice. So bland and tasteless. This was a curry? The small garlic and coriander naan was nice enough but could have done with more garlic. There was a decent amount of chicken in both dishes. The best thing was the Tarka Dahl which was tasty and nice and thick without being watered down like a lot of them.

An ok Indian although an essential item was missing and although we were offered it, it would have added another 30mins onto things and the food would have been cold. There are better places in Stortford.

The food certainly wasn't bad but the "crispy paneer" was soggy, the garlic, chilli chicken had mushrooms in it (not stated on the menu) and the naan was very small. In addition the Pilau rice had barely any spices in it and was more like boiled rice.

Usually great service. But unfortunately this time. The Chicken in the Madras was really dry. There was no salad with the chicken tikka (even though it was ordered) the paratha was really tasteless. On whole for an order costing over £45 it was very poor. Time to try a different restaurant!

Great tasting food and hot when delivered

Food was great. The wrap was enough tbh but the extra spices in the Rogon made it for me. Often a Rogon is tasty but has no kick, this one is fresh and spicy. Extra points for the Naan as it was also fresh and still had that doughy texture.

I ordered from here yesterday to have a schedule take away for WWE MONEY IN THE BANK I ORDERED CHICKEN KORMA / needs to have the chicken more softer bit to chewy Non-bread coconut mix / they could add a little bit more texture towards it Special fried rice, superb Mint sauce / wasn’t minty enough Papadum excellent
