Ware Tandoori in East Hertfordshire

We have been regulars over the years, but obviously the Pandemic, halted visits. However our chosen Curry Takeaway is always The Ware Tandoori. Last night my wife had the Chicken Korma and i had the Chicken Jalfrani, superbly tasty complimented by a couple of onion Barjee's. Prompt delivery, really enjoyable meal

Went last week and food were very good. Service were very good

Had a takeaway tonight and was very disappointed. Mint sauce was watery and flavourless, chicken was dry, korma was synthetic tasting, sag paneer had no paneer and was cheddar.... First try after a recommendation, and sadly won't try again.

When taking our order it was so rushed . Food was OK just not a nice experience like it used to have a few years back sadly .

Our go to Curry house in Ware as a family always consistent with the std curry fayre, Korai chicken, damask, butter chicken, bhuna etc.. friendly service hence why we keep coming back!

When i was severely ill, i forgot to inform the restaurant to cancel a reservation. Not only did I give a valid reason, but I also apologised. The person who called me be very rude, telling me i have no responsibility and dont know how it works, they also told me never to call or come here again. How is this running a business with great customer service? I was going to reschedule the reservation for another day however due to the person's attitude they just lost business. Great recipe for success? I think not. Definitely a place to avoid. Oh and the person also called me a rat. Great level of professionalism isn't it? I am more than happy to invite this person to my workplace where we exercise professionalism, customer service, how to run a business that is dependent on being understanding, corteous, kind and helpful to cutomers. Maybe he can learn a thing or two.

My wife and I visited ware tandoori after finally dumping the kids with nan and grandad for the evening. We hadn’t been out for an Indian meal in so long and was worried because we don’t get out much we didn’t want to get our choice of restaurant wrong, ending up with a pants meal and ruin a rare child free evening. However we was both delighted, the service was great and the food was amazing. We both had a balti dish and oh my god it was beautiful. Served in a cast iron bowl and full of flavour and spice. Really pleased with our choice of restaurant. Hopefully we can come back soon Thanks

Eat in amazing, takeaway... not so good. Burnt naans, cold curry. Used to be the best in ware... I'm afraid, no more.

Had the pleasure in dining in and ordering takeaways from Ware Tandoori. It never disappoints. Food is great from the Tandoori, Bryani and Naan were delicious. Delivery were quick as well. Cooked nicely and spiced well.

Tasty meal and large portions, started with Lamb chat and main course Chicken Vindaloo

Went there for food on Friday evening and it was lovely. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Better than other local offerings and best Indian I have had in Herts. Garlic Naan is crispy but fluffy and Tandoori chicken is amazing. Large portions, & they have Kingfisher on draft.

After eating from this restaurant I was awoken by sharp pains in my stomach and rushed to A&E where I sat for 10 hours only to discover I had gotten food poisoning along with my grandfather I highly recommend not eating if you value your good health.

This is a restaurant that my wife and I have used many times, although not so much lately. We have always been very satisfied with the food and service. We visited early on Sunday evening and it was, as yet very quiet . We sat at the table and the young waiter brought the menu and drinks list and asked if we wanted to order drinks, before I had even had a chance to look at what was available, I said I wasn't ready to order so he went away. Within 2 minutes he came back and asked again. I told him I was ready to order food but not drinks so he went away and the man in charge came to take our order and I ordered wine at the same time. The young waiter brought the bottled asked if I want to taste it, I said I didn't so he poured it and filled my glass before my wife which I found odd. The food arrived and was very good. Our plates were cleared and that was it, nobody asked if we wanted dessert so after 1/2 an hour we decided to pay and leave. I know I could have asked for the dessert menu but we weren't that fussed but would probably have been tempted if it had been offered. The young waiter seemed to really have no idea and the older man was too busy with taking takeaway orders. Sorry but no tip and I would think twice about returning.

A real test of a restaurant is how they deal with an issue. Pleased to report that a small but important issue with our food was immediately attended to properly, politely and swiftly. It was exemplary service! Beyond that the food was excellent and reasonably priced. One can't ask for much more really! We'll very happily return the next time we're in the area.

The owner seemed sound and it was a nice enough venue. The waiter seemed to have a slight attitude; he was still professional, but just seemed off. No idea why. Good food nonetheless.

Experience: I've given a 2 star review for a negative experience last night, sadly, on Saturday 22nd April '23. I booked up at 8.20pm & went to treat my girlfriend who was looking to have something nice to help her get over a tough week. We've been before a number of times, because it is local to my girlfriend. The food was initially good and of a standard to be expected, but the bombay aloo were near cold (so I had to find a restaurant staff member away from our table to ask for the potatoes to be heated up sufficiently). We ordered poppadoms, starters, main courses and drinks. We noticed other customers taking their food remainders away in take-away containers, so asked for ours to be managed the same. But the waiter only boxed half of what I'd paid for, throwing the rest away! There were no hot flannels at the end to freshen up with either. Conclusion: I feel I have had to list this negative experience here. We left dissatisfied, discussing how we'd need to find another restaurant in the future to overcome this negative night and cost. The meal started ok with the starters, but things went down hill afterwards. Maybe they were short staffed, over-run with take aways and table bookings and struggled to keep a better standard to what we expected. It's such a shame it wasn't an enjoyable night!

We thought we would give this place a try for a takeaway but we will never go back. The curry was just a basic tomato sauce with no flavour. Friendly service but unfortunately below par food.

There was my work mate and I, it’s a Monday night and we are recommended to visit this restaurant, food was good but the stoney welcome was typical of many Old school Indian restaurants. Food was good and at 9 30 we were asked to leave, the bill arrived at the table and I made a comment about only two after eight chocolates, and the grumpy front of house man said, yes two , one for you and one for him. At 9 45 we are told to leave, what an attitude to have, no customer service just rudeness, normally give a tip, no chance here.

I booked a table for 2 for my birthday Sat January 7th .. was booked quite early that morning .. just after 5pm I received an email saying the reservation has been cancel with no explanation.. luckily was able to get a booking at another restaurant in nearby village.. .. I felt that ware tandoori lack empathy why take the booking if they are full should make you aware online when are booking it 👎

Great place with great food. Having halal dietary requirements, this place catered for my needs. All halal meat and food. Brilliant fresh food, delicious, and great recommendations from the staff who are both friendly and experienced.

Always a warm welcome excellent food and service

Have only had take aways from here and so I cannot comment on the service. The food however is always nicely cooked and arrives promptly.

Had our Christmas work party here. We had some reservations regarding the poor reviews but we're pleasantly surprised that they had improved. The service was ok, efficient but lacked the friendly touch. The food was quite good, the only thing letting it down was the saag paneer which was more like a cheesy spinach melt than the more typical dish we see of cubed paneer. Mixed grill was nice but lacked a needed kick to it. All in all, I wouldn't avoid the place but it just falls short of being a 'must visit' restaurant. There's still room for improvement.

Really enjoyed a fabulous meal, can't wait to come back.

Just had king prawn massala- was more like shrimp, rang to tell them and they didn’t care. Never use again

Order: chicken korai, chicken chilli masala, mushroom rice, pilau rice, naan and tandoori grilled meats. Ordered for collection and ready in 20 minutes. That’s good. Rice was standard, as was naan and tandoori meat, with a good curry it would be fine. However, the chicken korai was astonishingly bad. Heavily watered down, with copious huge slices of onion, tomato and pepper. It tasted as though it had been cooked for 20 minutes with no seasoning nor spices. There was no flavour whatsoever. I have been trained to cook curry and I wouldn’t serve this to a friend. I have had better chicken korai from a supermarket packet. Chicken chilli masala suffered the same review although slightly more flavour. Total meal cost: £32. Value: not worth it. Go elsewhere.

Visited last night, food was lovely however the waiters were useless. Delivery’s were prioritised over dining costumers and we had to wait over a hour to get served. In addition a loud group of drunk people came in half way shouting, swearing and screaming. Customers repeatedly asked the staff to either remove them or tell them to calm down however they wasn’t interested presumably due to the amount of money they was spending. We ended up having to intervene, completely ruining the atmosphere.

We went for one of the first sittings at 1800. The staff were welcoming and took our drink order quickly, which was good. But the staff were literally running up and down between the kitchen constantly, manoeuvring . Although we weren’t rushed to order or eat, we didn't understand the panic. Our order was taken in a rushed manner, With little attentiveness, and three wrong items were given to us. It was all rush rush rush, slap, bang and more rush. It didn't detract from the overall experience too much and the quality of the food - when we had the right order. The AirCon suddenly went onto full chill blast, and aimed directly to our table, and I did ask for it to be tuned down. The waiter did press some buttons but it made no difference. I was going to ask if I could be lent a coat, and wish I’d had a Coffee at this point rather than an Ice Cream!In fairness maybe they are understandably trying to recoup costs since lockdown and trying to squeeze a lot of people in, making use of the current government vouchers.

Five of us went recently and had the usual lovely meal we’ve come to expect from Raj and his team. My king prawn Ceylon with special fried rice, bhindi barji and keema naan was excellent and had been missed during lockdown !! A lovely night out and such good value with the Govt eat out discount ! Will return and obviously recommend.

Lovely meal with friends. It was quiet but it was a Thursday in early January. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, the best curry we’ve had in a long while. I requested a dish not on the menu, which was no problem. Another of our party wasn’t well and requested a dish made with a list of healing ingredients, again they accommodated us without issue. The portions were so large they let us take some home in boxes. The Balti dishes in particular were superb and so was the chilli and garlic naan, light, soft and fluffy. We will definitely be back. Visited ware tandoori last night, the food was absolutely lovely and we couldn’t fault it, but the waiter was awfully rude, he would put his hand up to stop you talking if you ordered something in the wrong order, drinks were just plonked in front of you, he would talk over you instead of saying excuse me if he wanted to talk, for that reason we won’t be going again

Absolutely fantastic experience and reasonably priced. Very generous portion sizes too. The staff are incredibly friendly and know exactly how to walk the fine line between professional and personal. The larger gentleman with the beard served us and I found him to be particularly endearing and he made our evening feel very special.

Friendly staff, good selection of food. The staff are helpful and talk to the kids, and try to help with ordering if needed. Went there for my daughter's birthday and we came out with goodie bags.

Lovely meal at short notice, two people easily and willingly accommodated.

I urge you to replace your waiter. He comes across as rude to customers and will not be returning which is a shame. The drinks were plonked on the table as if he had a grudge with us. When asking for the order he wanted the main dishes from all 4 of us first, then went round the table again for rice orders, then went round the table again for bread orders. Never seen anything like this. He then placed dirty plates on our table and had a look of distain.

Few of us dropped in to order a takeaway (for 6 people). Dishes were flavorsome, decent portions and decent meat used in the curries. Well worth a visit and if in the area again, would go back.

Good variety of food at reasonable prices, food comes out quickly. Great choice if drinks and friendly staff.

Excellent! Ordered so much we couldn't eat it all we had to take half of it home, and the prices are very good. I had the fish masala expecting it to be chunked into it but I was pleasently surprised when I got a whole fish. Very good service, definitely the best Indian restaurant I have been to!

Best food in Ware. We went in the other night with friends and had a great welcome as always. Had the mixed grill Balti which is new on the menu which was fabulous. We are back on Christmas Eve so looking forward to it.

In my humble opinion, simply the best curry house i have been to, super yum :-)

The food was good, but a tad on the expensive side. Me and some friends order a selection and got it to be delivered to us, and were expecting the 10% discount that applied to us, stated on the back of the menu, but when the time came and we had to pay the delivery man, we didn't get that 10% discount.

Old school traditional curry house. Good food and excellent service. The decor and outside is a little tired but is misleading and should not put you off giving this place a try.

Changed my usual dish and had a king prawn jalfrezi with special rice and bindhi barji ! Oh my what a lovely fiery meal but not too much having missed all the chillies. Wise decision. Chicken chat and sheek kebab for starters after the usual popadoms and such a great meal. Nice and quiet on a Thursday night so got the usual attentive service but not in your face. A couple of Cobras did the trick as well. Well done Raj and the lads as usual ! We'll be back !!

We love this place. We actually now live in Stevenage but still travel back here as the food is so good. Love the meals off the back of the menu - the Balti dishes are amazing! All the staff are friendly, food is always fantastic and served quickly, really recommend a visit!

Came here for a birthday meal and the staff were hugely accommodating. 16 of us and were happy shuffling tables around the restaurant to fit us in. Food was fantastic and will be back to the best curry house in Ware!

Raj and his team still come up with the best Indian around for miles. Been going here for 30 years and never had a bad meal. Just try their Sheek Kebab then King Prawn Ceylon, Special rice and Bindhi Bahji and you'll see what I mean ! To be recommended if you want a good night out with a couple of Cobra's to wash it all down.

Good service, right amount of heat in the food

Can't believe I have lived in Ware for years but have only just discovered this restaurant which serves the most delicious king prawn puri. I have now eaten here twice and each time the flavours have been fresh and mouthwateringly devine. This time I had duck haari, beautifully tender. Couldn't resist the prawn puri both starters shared. Followed by salmon tikka Masala with sides. Each mouthful was an awakening to my tastebuds. Can't wait to return
