This restaurant has amazing food amazing and amazing staff. It is a very friendly environment and I totally recommend to anyone in the area.

Very nice food to Sit in or to take out. I’ve had a delivery before aswell and it’s been very Quick. Very helpful staff They even open the door for you on arrival. Highly recommended.

Food always delicious! Service in restaurant & delivery not good at all! All about bums on seats/taking orders in, regardless of how much the service suffers, its all about the money!! The Manager/Owner VERY unprofessional & out right RUDE!! :(

Perfect family meal. The waiting staff made so much fuss of our children and making sure they had food they enjoyed. Staff are very attentive but not overwhelming. 3 course meal with an alcoholic drink for my husband and I was incredibly reasonable. Will definitely be back asap!

The best Indian takeaway in Manningtree by far. Not many places offer saag masala - so I'm a life long customer!

We've eaten here quite a few times, and my daughter always has a "Korma" made without dairy as she has Intolerances.. this has never been a problem in the past and food has been very nice and we have returned on quite a few occasions.. To start we were given flat drinks as usual, missing the requested ice, as usual, which we asked to change.. This time when ordering the food, the staff walked off half way through (I assume to ask about the dairy free korma) and he never even came back for the rest of our order!!.. we then had to call someone else to add another thing on.. but that never even arrived in the end.. Our food came and the "korma" which we've had a variation of many times before here was more like a curry and when trying to explain that it's completely different to what she usually has there the staff walked off and started talking in their own language which I find rude around customers.. I got up and asked the staff member who has seen us there many times about the food, he laughed and started talking to other customers whilst I was still talking to him and turned his back on me and walked away..he then came over to the table, I explained again about the food and one of them said that whoever said it was possible lied?! (We have it made there fgs!) And the other one said yes it's a curry not a Korma and had it changed.. made a comment about a headache and laughed.. I was ready to leave but my kids didn't want to cause a scene.. I mean who even cares at this point, it was ridiculous.. The atmosphere was awful and awkward, we ate as quickly as possible and left.. the Customer service was infuriating today, it wasnt even about the food, that would have been easily rectified..it was how we were treated..and I would never return again. You spend hard earned money somewhere you expect a little bit of respect and common courtesy.. the foods not that amazing that I'd ever bother going back after that.

We ate here yesterday evening/night. First visit for me but came on recommendation of my friend that comes here often & she booked it & we all had a lovely evening. Food was absolutely delicious & excellent service. The young lads you have working for you are a credit to you ; polite ,friendly & helpful. I took home a ‘Doggy Bag ‘ which my husband enjoyed when I got home! Would recommend & will be booking for my husband & I on a future visit. Thank you

I went to Nirala tandoori Manningtree,it was a lovely night out I had a chicken tikka buna,it was nice and very tasty. Restaurant was that very busy and we had excellent service and we will go back again definitely.

Unfortunate experience. 1hr 57 min for delivery, after posting 60min delivery time when ordering. When called to ask for an update after an hour and a half, was told half an hour as they are really busy, without even knowing the address. Food was not what we ordered, a vindaloo, no heat or flavour. Called to speak to manager, but was told he was not available.

No issue with the food but, of late, delivery times have been shocking. it's now 9:30pm food ordered for 7:30 and still not here. Called them an hour ago and was told food had been sent and should be with us in 10 minutes and still no food. The last three orders from Nirala have been over an hour late. No calls, no messages to say it will be late - nothing. Shocking customer service. Used to be great delivery service but something has clearly changed, maybe greed. Just taking orders with no chance of being able to deliver them all. Won't be using them again.

Average food never any freebies for regular customers.. When you have no serious competition they become complacent and overpriced. Today I ordered a tikka masala and got a base korma sauce made to look like a tikka masala.... they must think your an idiot I used to live in London and I know a curry.....Nirala give Indian food a bad name.NEVER AGAIN

Deliveries are always on time, all drivers are friendly, and the food never disappoints. A great part of the Manningtree food community.

We go generally weekly to this restaurant and have been doing so for years now. The quality of the food is always up to scratch, and the owner Ahmed, and his staff always do there best to please, it’s the only Indian restaurant I know, that actually serves you king prawns and a decent size as well.There are two Indian restaurants in Manningtree, and the Nirala is far superior in all departments. Look forward to seeing you next week.Well done all.

Was very busy which is always a good sign but service was a little slow but we'll worth the wait

We finally thought we’d give this restaurant a try after moving to the area last year. We have been missing out! We received a warm welcome and great service (friendly and professional). The restaurant is spotlessly clean. Nice linen tablecloths. Tables are nicely spaced. The log burner style gas fire kept the room nice and warm. The food was prepared in a timely fashion but not rushed. Food taste and quality was excellent. This was one of the nicest Indian meals we have had. When you for mild you get mild. When ask for heat you get heat. A nice venue with great food and well priced. Thanks for a great meal!

Great food and good value. Everything on a table of 9 came out hot and together. The staff were really helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend for a tasty meal. The inside might need a bit of modernising but it took nothing away from the lovely time we had.

Tried Nirala for the first time this evening for a takeaway, and it was a great first experience! Ordered online which was easy enough, email confirmation for the order, selected time I wanted to collect and it was ready when I walked in the door Person who served me was welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious, naan bread was a little small but couldn’t fault the whole meal, meat was tender and there was a good amount of spice! Will definitely be back!

Just picked order up, surprisingly order worng again, no curry, but 2 dishes I didn't order. Not worth going back to wait all night. They can't cope when busy.

Lack of competition always creates very average restaurants who have the arrogance to believe you don't know your Indian dishes..I recently ordered a chicken Jalfrezy which is a dry dish cooked quickly in the wok with fresh peppers onions and green chillies.What I received was a runny base curry with1 thinly slice of green pepper not the plural 2 green chilies with stewd onions.My message to the restaurant is stop mugging people off like they have never traveled outside of Manning tree and by the way the other Indian restaurant I think it's called The Mongul is even worse!!

Our favorite Indian in the area. Staff, service and food never disappoint!

First time here and we were impressed with the quality of the food. Onion bhajis were cooked well and served without loads of oil dripping off, prawn puri had an excellent flavour as did the moist chicken tikka. We also had the butter chicken and chicken palok (spinach and lentils) - very good. And the lime chutney was a nice surprise since many places don’t seem to bother with it these days. Service was friendly although they were busy with takeaways as well. We’ll certainly come back..

Rude and overcharged!! I ordered a biryani and the vegetable curry was just potatoes, no vegetables. When I queried this, I was told that if I wanted cauliflower in it that I should ask next time! Why? It’s a vegetable curry?! They were being cheap by using potatoes only. I’ve never heard such a ridiculous response. When we received the bill, it was just an amount so I asked for an itemised bill. They said they “don’t do that” even though it’s written out by hand. I asked again and he went off grudgingly to get one. Pictured is what I received with the corrections. I could not read it- it was initials and scribbles. I asked how was I supposed to read this and they pointed out what all the scribbles meant. I was saying again that I could not read it and he literally walked away from me while I was still talking. He’d clearly decided he had no more time for me and IGNORED a paying customer! We were overcharged for drinks and the amount was corrected a few times going from the first total of £67.70 down to £54.80…. about a £13 overcharge!!! The bill was paid and I told them I would never come back while he was walking away from me again! The two young waiters were very helpful and professional and I gave them a tip. I’ve honestly never been treated like that by restaurant staff/manager and if I could give 0/5 I would. Absolutely disgusting service and not impressed with the veg curry missing the veggies. I also feel the portions were small. Avoid Nirala Tandoori!!

Placed in the cold - seating . Not cosy . Drinks flat 1st and 2 time. No alcohol free option beer/ cider. Dreadful service . Nice balti only thing worth while. Not returning . Over priced too

Have had several takeaways and eatent in at the Nirala a few times..the restaurant has greatly improved the quality. The food tastes good, quantity is reasonable and prices also reasonable. Will always consider going to order takeaway at the Nirala before trying other Indian restaurants.

Visiting during the evening mid-week, the restaurant was empty which is always sad to see. However, using the available combo deals on the menu, we managed to have pappadom's, curry and naan for a very reasonable price. The food is full of flavour and there is plenty of choice.

Good food, great service, will definitely be using again

I’ve had lovely meals from here in the past but this time not good! Old and stale, even tried to save onion bhjai in air fryer and they just went even more rubbery! Never known that before? Lamb was old and I never touched the mint dip but when I went to clear it off the table in the morning it was stuck to the glass and a clear liquid had formed around the outside? Even through the plastic container? I opened the top and it was completely congealed🤯

We eat here fairly regularly and it’s always been very good…. But of late we suspect the chef has changed… it’s ok now but average rather than very good…. The last three visits have been just that….. time to give it a break we think.

We often go here for their banquet nights deal, excellent value for money! Customer service is fantastic, even held the door open to greet us! Food was great and they catered well to my child’s dietary requirements. Very friendly, attentive and hot tasty food! This is the best Indian in the area by a long mile in my opinion

We had to go to manningtree on Monday night so I assume that’s why this restaurant was completely empty. We got welcomed by the only waiter there and someone there, with his pants half way down his bottom was pretty vocal and it made us feel like in some pub or something even though it probably was the owner. Then the waiter came and wanted to take orders for drinks. Everytime he came he asked my husband “sir” but never asked me as if my husband was meant to talk for the both of us. I ordered coke and my husband wasn’t decided yet. The waiter came back and asked something, I didn’t hear what it was and as we were ready to order, I asked for chicken tikka etc.. but the waiter literally rolled eyes and repeated the question asking my husband what he wanted to drink and then he walked away. It really made me feel like I bothered him and only my husband was there. When asking about the food, again he just asked .. was everything ok sir?.. I’m usually not sensitive towards these things but felt like his behavior was very sexist and made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable and we agreed that if going back, we would order to takeaway. That said, my tikka masala, chicken balti, naan, rice and condiments were all amazing.

Brilliant tandoori experience, the very best tandoori I have had in a very long time, super recommend.

Got there at 7.30 by 9pm we had only had our starter with no sign of the main course arriving we left. When we were paying the bill they said they were very busy, there was only one occupied table in the restaurant!! However during...

Very slow delivery. Over 2 hours to arrive, despite being told 50 minutes when I ordered. When I chased after an hour and 30, I was told it was "on its way", clearly not the case as the delivery driver then told me there was a "problem with the kitchen" and that's why it was late. Food was hot and decent quality when it did finally arrive (at 9.45pm) Won't be ordering again for delivery.

Really disappointed with the delivery. We often order from here. Food is generally good but this is about the third time it’s taken at least 2 hours.

Yummy, tasty food, good portion sizes. We had quite a large order for 6 adults. All good was nice and fresh, hot and delivered within the hour. Were new to the area and its the 2nd time we have used this restaurant for a takeaway, all our family liked the flavours. We can't wait to book a table and dine in once covid rules allow. Nirla are one of three curry houses we have tried in the last 5 weeks and by far the best of the 3. Also a big thankyou to Nirla for the nice bottle of white wine.

Food is great but once again delivery is terrible. Went online placed order for delivery for 6:45pm. Except for it to be a little late but phoned at 7:20pm told it would be 20 minutes. 8:20pm phoned again told would be 20 minutes again. I would suggest if you live in Wrabness or any village outside of Manningtree, do not use their delivery service. They would be better off not to offer delivery as killing their reputation. 8:35pm eventually our meal has arrived. Now placing in the oven to reheat. How sad.

Best curry in manningtree. I have not yet eaten in, but the delivery is always on point. I have collected once and the venue does look attractive.
