Spice Lounge in Watford

This is the third time me and my friends have been here. Every time we have unreal service. All the workers are polite and lovely

Ordered a vegetable jalfrezi through Just Eat, and unfortunately, the vegetables were a mushy disappointment. I was expecting crisp, fresh veggies, but this missed the mark completely. It felt like a waste of money, and I won’t be ordering from here again. Even the bhajis lacked any redeeming quality.

Placed an order online, with a much appreciated 20% discount. The food arrived on time and piping hot. Order was perfect and so was the food. Every dish was exactly to pur taste and the portions were very generous. All in all a fabulous meal at a reasonable price. Thank you Spice Lounge. Update. I went India restaurant for butter chicken and owner kept winking at me kinda liked it but still I just wanted to eat my food which was butte chicken

Spice lounge was the nicest lamb curry, we ordered every week to treat ourselves, unfortunately that is no longer the case, I personally feel bad as I have recommended spice lounge to so many people. The lamb curry from spice lounge is now chewy and dry, it gives us bad upset stomachs, I don’t know what’s changed as the meat has always been so succulent, the last two orders the meat has been hard thin tasteless strips of meat that looks burnt in appearance Sad to see a restaurant go down hill in quality almost over night We won’t be ordering again 😕

The quality of the food is good but on the day the meal was kind of incorrectly made. The madras was not a madras, the cans of coke 3.50 each, the samosa not that great and also expensive. The service was great and the garlic rice delicious too eat as well as the pashwari nan. I won't come back because the main dish was a little disappointing and the meal was too expensive! For the quality of the meal he price was what I see as a overcharged also the chicken used was low quality so I could not finish my main.

I had the most amazing meal at a restaurant today—the best I've ever had! The food was incredibly delicious, with each bite bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was perfect, and the service was outstanding. It was a dining experience I'll never forget, and I can't wait to go back!

The staff here are beyond polite, respectful and couldn't do enough for you! The food was amazing and I'm more upset I'm only in the area for a few days as I live 4 hours away and would love to have this restaurant local to me!

Went to celebrate Manchester United Women winning the FA Cup after going to the game. Service was swift and thoroughly professional. Food was delicious and contained high quality ingredients. Large portions too. Washed down with two large bottles of chilled Indian larger. You might possibly find somewhere cheaper but very unlikely challenge this experience.

Service is good but the taste is really bad. Had a lot of expectations but really disappointed because of the food.

Ordered a bulk order for catering an event, the meat was amazing, great service and even opened early to allow us to collect when needed. Great price and amazing food including added extras. Would 100% recommend, everyone loved it, especially the seekh kebabs!

This will be the forst and last time i go in this restaurant .Way too Expensive and food cannot be worst than this.Chef has to buy a packet of salt after reminder by the staff.They have completely forgot to put salt in my Jalfrezii..And charged me £12 for Paneer Jalfrezi without any hesitation.The atmosphere was allright and gave nlce atmosphere to enjoy the meal.But the main concern and their negative sode is their food and expense..Never ever back to this place

Ordered a delivery, I ordered medium but way too spicy, I had half my chicken dish took out at least 6 chillies, ate 1 piece of chicken as too hot! My partner had a mild but couldn’t eat as too hot, my roti was undercooked!

Had a couple of takeaways from here and always been excellent so we thought we would try going in for a change and so pleased we did! Outstanding friendly service and amazing food as always, big portions and plenty left to take home and have the next day 😋 lovely and spicy and warm plates and piping hot food. Just try it you will love it.

A very well presented restaurant with excellent service and very good food. Clean white tablecloths and napkins and a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. I had a very good Chicken Tika Biryani and a Kingfisher Beer. Very enjoyable!. I will certainly eat here again. Recommended. Paul H.

First time came here orderd biryani which was disappointing i dont recomend this place had a bad experience did tell them i will give a bad reveiw and the guy said they dont care which clearly says alot

I've been here a few times, and tonight is no different! This time I ordered the Naga medium. Whilst eating and sweating, the taste was amazing! I polished everything off, and could easily have asked for seconds if I wasn't so full..... but the flavours were amazing! Great service and food as always! I hope this never changes, I love this place!

My daughter wanted a curry as she had her braces off and couldn’t have one for two years. She loved the chicken korma and the chicken bhuna was great too. Will come back!

Ate at this restaurant by chance when staying in Watford for a few weeks- so glad we did. Staff are incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Food is amazingly flavoursome. It was so good that we returned- even though there are many alternatives in the area. We were amazed that the staff remembered us and even gave us complimentary after dinner drinks. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was lovely.. it was late and the delivery driver was delightful kind and arrived on time (I was half asleep) he was cheerful told me food is great enjoy :) Food was hot and requests followed the prices are high but as a one off it was worth it :) worth it but due to price will wait for a while till nxt in the area. Lovely meal here last night with my partner. Went a bit later and they easily found us a table and the service was very quick and friendly. Food was lovely, we had a garlic naan and chicken jalfrezi and chicken Ceylon which were both lovely and just a little bit spicy! Would recommend and would go again.

My spouse and I order from Spice Lounge regularly and love it, and have also dined in from time to time. We're both vegetarian and love South Asian food, so we've tried most if not all of the curry houses in the Watford area - this one is our favourite by far. The makhani sauce in particular is amazing, and the food is consistently good and not too greasy, which is usually our issue. The flavours are good and nuanced, the Medium and Hot options are properly spicy, as someone who usually orders Hot at most places I find Medium is right for me here. A bit more expensive than some of the competition but well worth it to us, and the delivery portions are large enough that we often get 2 dinners for both of us if not more out of a £40 delivery order.

Clean small Indian restaurant in Watford town centre. Warm welcome and friendly service, average prices. Tasty food presented in a nice manner. Be careful if you choose moderate/mild spicy as it feels like hot for average European taste. Generous portions for mains, if you have a starter and 1-2 popadoms you’ll come out of there with a full belly. I’ll be visiting again, but order less food next time.

Everything was cooked perfectly, exactly as requested, and so delicious! Highly recommend the biryani's. Was a great dinner to celebrate my birthday.

I have made the oder online for delivery -chicken korma ,chicken tikka masala and paneer masala . All the dishes were sweet even chicken tikka masala and peneer masala ,not spicy but extremely sweet.It looked like one dish but with different names.I ate Indian food from different places and I love it but from SPICE LOUNGE all dishes tasted the same and they are very sweet.

Visiting Watford we found this little gem by chance and so glad we did. Food is flavoursome and beautifully served in decent portion size, by incredibly attentive yet unobtrusive staff. So good we returned a second ( and potentially a third) time during our short stay in Watford ! Classy and yet relaxed restaurant, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very welcoming staff ready to greet you and show you to your seats. Staff were so helpful and polite, the food was amazing. We can honestly say it is one of the best Indian meals we have ever had. Chicken tikka massala was think and so flavoursome. Chicken Jalfrezi was outstanding and the mushroom rice was the best with lots of fresh herbs and spices. Make sure you book a table ASAP you won't be disappointed.

We have used the spice lounge a lot for takeaways but this time we visited. The food is always good. They have a wide selection on the menu and plenty of options for vegetarians. The restaurant is not large, but nevertheless, we were not disrupted by the takeaway service. Something that sadly is often the case these days with all the various delivery companies lining up! the service was fast and attentive. The restaurant is close to church parking as while in theory you could park in the road, it's not much of a reality. We visited prior to going to the Palace Theatre and it is open early enough to do so, and it is only a short walk to the theatre. I recommend a visit!

Best Bangla food in Watford. I've tried the majority of the alternatives in the area, some highly rated. None come close to SL. Non obtrusive, efficient service and high quality, well spiced, generous portions. I can only guess the negative reviews are: 1) not based on food quality. 2) disgruntled competitors. 3) individuals who prefer style over substance (yes, these people exist unfortunately). Keep up the good work, this should be a local staple for anyone who likes a good curry.

Delicious food and great service. We had to leave suddenly due to a personal issue, the staff helped us pack our food into take out boxes and rush out quickly. We got to enjoy our food properly later and it was 10/10

Well the food is great on the weekends but not in the week must have a bad cook during the week watery and just don't stay together as a curry on the weekends Great texture not very happy if I phoned up by the time they sort it i would have cook something myself 😒

Warm tasteless overpriced and over cooked gristle. This is usually our go to takeaway and never usually fails. Tonight quite the reverse. Jalfrezi chicken and jalfrezi veg. Chicken dish had 1 dice sized pepper, padded out with onions. Vegetable jalfrezi had onions and 2 peas and 2 brown broad beans (?!). 2 green beans otherwise the cost of this dish for mainly onions is disgusting. 2 samosas which should be 3. Bhajis warm. This food is way too expensive to be warm and tasteless. Called to complain and I was challenged. Had to email photo. Was dealt by a man who questioned me. Was asked to send an email as proof to which he said he could see onions!! Gristle and overcooked food being returned and very reluctantly they're sending another chicken jalfrezi and bhaji dish which doesn't look like dog food. Driver has deliver twice to the wrong address. Glad to say we'll be going elsewhere now as I don't want to be challenged again. The search continues for a nice curry house with nice customer service.

The restaurant, Sea Fresh were extremely patronising and discriminatory towards me as a disabled person and after complaining to Just Eat they did absolutely nothing about it. I am sending recordings of the phone call to social media, ombudsmen and also papers and news stations who are interested in the story.
