The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

This is a great restaurant, excellent service and tasty food. The only hiccup is the table layout, if there is a large noisy group behind you it can be difficult to hold a conversation, Maybe Management could allocate the upstairs as a quieter room when they have large parties booked in.

A superb meal in all respects, and served with passion and justifiable pride in their produce! Knowledgeable people and eager to share the taste experience. We had as our mains Lamb Punjabi for the first time, and by way of a contrast, Paneer Tika Passanda. They were exceptional, and in my opinion, beyond compare! So very delicious and I would thoroughly recommend them. Thank you, and we'll done!

Two of our curries were luminous (clearly food colouring in droves) and sweeter than a £1 cheesecake with extra icing. I ate one spoonful and still felt rough. So bad i wrote my first Google review.

UPDATE. It’s been over a year since my last visit. Life has been busy. I’m pleased to say the food is still excellent. The king prawn puree was delicious as was the chicken Kazana. The naan was also very good. We washed it down with a lovely gavi ! Sal and his team delivered the normal excellent service you’d expect. Thanks again Nick Wow, we love The Drovers Arms ! Sal and his team there never fail to deliver. The food is always excellent as is the wine. The mussel starter is the best I’ve ever had. We live 12 miles away and it’s definitely worth the taxi ride. Worse take away I’ve ever received

Spot on...bit on the spicy side but was lovely!! Staff were very kind and explained what was what... Seemed popular with locals so that's gotta be a good sign The Vegetarian samosas were sublime Fantastic!

Worst experience ever!! Food was disgusting 🤮. Definitely wouldn’t recommend!!!

i ordered lamb biryani they gave me fried rice and one bowl vegetable curry, it looks like sambar. when i told them that it is not biryani, he said this how we make biryani later i came to know after a good conversation that they are from Bangladesh, basically you cant expect anything in Indian style..

Best place to get a curry in Luton! Staff is always polite, food is extremely tasty and very reasonable! Will return and highly recommend

Although they probably hate me now, I have nothing but appreciation for the staff and delivery drivers at the ruby. I got my order early like I always do, except this time they forgot my sauce. I called up the restaurant and they had the delivery driver sent out straight away to drop it off to me. Props to them

An absolute go to for a takeaway, the coconut rice is amazing, their naans are great too. Love it here

We have had many take-aways from Indian Ocean over the last few years, which are always great, but last night we visited the restaurant to eat-in for the first time. The restaurant is fairly small inside, which gives it a really cosy feel and a nice atmosphere. It's a family owned business and that sets a really lovely, friendly tone to the experience. We had one of the set meals, to try some of the other dishes which we don't normally order with our take-aways. Everything was really tasty and well made. I'd highly recommend the food from Indian Ocean (particularly the garlic chicken tikka, the chicken chilli masala and the chana rice - plus we loved the chilli lamb from the set meal), and if you're looking for a small, cosy, friendly restaurant to eat-in, then I am sure you'll love it here too.

Excellent Indian restaurant very good choice of dishes and wines, staff very polite and will cook you dishes not on menu if they are able to do, highly recommend a visit to this restaurant
