Very tasty food and a good cosy place to sit with friends and family

Always good food and delivery was very quick!

Poppadoms were stale and couldn't eat them. Chicken was dry and tough and left most of it. Usually a good meal there but not tonight.

Amazing food, a gorgeous place, fast service,all staff care about each customer and are always so friendly and happy to help out family who can't decide what to eat. We love their recommendations and are served the tastiest dishes every time.

Came here for my fiances birthday. It was a Monday evening but still quite full. A nice vibe and the food was delicious! Would highly recommend ☆☆☆☆☆

Had the best Indian meal of all times here. The onion Bhajis are to die for and the best I’ve ever had. Plenty of meat in all the dishes we ordered. The staff were spot on too, never an empty drink and didn’t have to grab their attention for a top up. The owner was hands on too and had time to chat. I visited with friends who live in Berko, it’s a shame I’m in Devon as I’d definitely be back for more regularly.

Awful food. Awful service. Tired looking and dull. Overpriced with zero ambience. Very loud. No background music. There was a reason why I hadn’t been back since 2018 and nothing has changed. We pretty much left all our food and they didn’t even have the thought to check everything was ok. It was like they knew it was bad because we left it and didn’t want the criticism so didn’t ask. I can’t get over the fact that we just spent £200 on a meal for 4 and a child (no child’s dishes or smaller portions offered so my 8yo meal cost £20) for us to walk out feeling hungry. The amount of wasted food was unbearable to see but we couldn’t fathom eating it be used it was that bad. Never going again and would 100% never recommend anyone to try it either!

Food was amazing and very tasty, though not convinced on value for money. Portions were smaller and more expensive than others we buy from. Food took approx 1hr 40 mins to arrive on a Friday evening (I've had worse, but not ideal). Overall would order again as the food tasted great, but will generally stick with places cheaper places that have larger portions.

Fanatic food for takeaway, great paratha and lamb dhansak. Left my wallet there accidentally and was later phoned to tell me it was there (I hadn't realised it was lost) - says a lot about the great staff there.

Sunday lunch as always a great excuse to go to the fat Buddha when not working had a fantastic meal as always served by ash who was very attentive polite and friendly food was fantastic as normal very hard to beat in berko so give it a whirl you want be sorry see you again soon fat Buddha and ash and the team excellent service

I’ve always found this restaurant to be of high quality and the food always tastes good.

Pricier than most Indians but the Lamb Chennai was amazing and full of meat had no complaints at all with any of the food. Wasn’t particularly busy so disappointment was being left without drinks on two occasions. Only negative. Will definitely be back

Just dined here. Arrived at 7.30pm and didn’t get our starters delivered until 9.20pm. Shocking service, incredibly slow. Food adequate. And very pricey

As per normal can’t fault the food the service and the atmosphere is and always fantastic really can’t fault it have revived the Buddha a few times now so im not going to repeat myself all I can say is if your thinking of giving it a shot you won’t regret it yes it’s a tad dearer than your average curry house but the food is head and shoulders above the rest guaranteed I can name a few that are close to the same prices but nowhere near the standard of food or service nothing is to much trouble here for the staff always polite and charming especially NAJ who deserve a pat on the back for he’s fantastic customer service My only criticism is no hot towels and no chocolate with the bill

Seemingly has little consideration for neighbours. Elderly residence next door. Access often impeded by liveried vehicle or taxis.

Very nice again food excellent. Service very good too until the end when paying bill! Waited asked how much to put in (look at receipt it!!) I would of tipped when prompted but after he asked that put me off tipping. But again was good service untill that point...Will still go back as food very good

Ordered from the fat buddha multiple times and the dishes have always been of a really high quality. Delivery was a little late with was a shame but the dishes are very filling so it's okay.

Fabulous food and service, even with a large party such as ours. The waiter gave us helpful suggestions with our food choices and the staff were attentive and friendly. We will be back!

Korma and Masala were delicious. Could have been hotter when arrived , may have been party of a few deliveries, but overall very good!

The food was very poor. The butter chicken consisted of a thin sauce with a few lumps of chicken floating around. The duck balti was very fatty and had a vinegar taste. Won't order again.

I am a returning customer, due to their price hike, I must admit I have ordered from elsewhere however there were no comparison. To TFB, So here I am, my only criticism is the lamb was a wee on the tough side and £40 minimum order is on the steep side, Food wise ,excellent

Best takeaway Indian we’ve ever had. I had the chicken tikka Dansak, it was exceptional. The Brinjal Bhaji was next level.

Had the most delicious, freshly prepared meal tonight. I have some food allergies, and I was helped to choose some safe options which didn’t disappoint . Tender, tasty chicken and amazingly succulent butterfly prawns. Fabulous food - thank you.

My visit to this restaurant was an absolute delight! The food was really good with some different and unusual chef specials. The staff and owner were incredibly friendly and chatty. This restaurant goes above and beyond in providing both exceptional cuisine and heartwarming hospitality.

We ordered a curry online after a long journey back from Italy . It was ready as we arrived and we were served by a very polite and friendly man . The food was excellent and we all loved it . Thank you Fat Buddha highly recommend this restaurant. Just wish we lived closer.

Have to say this must be one of the best indian resturants I have ever eaten in. Simply superb. Great waiter, very knowledgeable and very cheeky which added to the experience. The food is mouthwatering good. The onion bhajis are the size of a cricket ball.

Food did not taste anything,Overpriced

I’ve been a few times but my mate said he’d not been and fancied a curry. To be fair, this time the food was great and not with any issues (and we have had some) really good quality meat and the naan bread was sensational. Happy to pay, still just figuring out in my head if £15 for main, £5 rice and £5 for naan is right?! That’s £25 for main meal 🤷‍♂️ seems high-ish but agree it is nice. Still won’t drag me away from Curry Garden up the road for price vs quality & value

We ordered food from here to be delivered to our house for the first time. It was fast delivery and the order was correct so we were very happy with that. But the food itself was not great. Bland food at extortionate prices We ordered 1 naan, 1 korma, 1 tikka masala and rice which cost over £50. It’s the most expensive takeaway food we have had! It’s seriously overpriced for what it is. The chicken korma was so bland - I actually prefer the one I buy from the supermarket. BUT they have the best coconut rice - it’s the BEST coconut rice we have ever had so 5/5 for coconut rice. Given how expensive it is for what it is we will not be ordering from here again which is a shame as we live in Berkhamsted and regularly order takeaways.

Came here for Mother’s Day. This restaurant is 45 minutes away from my home town by car and is worth the trip as the food is significantly higher in standard than similar in my local area. One small thing, the poppadoms are expensive as usually these are either free or about half the price overall, and we skipped the starters, the mains are about the same as everywhere else in Hertfordshire in price so definitely worthwhile. The service was friendly and kind despite being busy, and the restaurant is nicely decorated with a good atmosphere. This was a second visit in 2 years and would come Bach again.

Food was lovely except for my vegetable biryiani which was delivered with a lentil dal rather then a vegetable curry which I did not enjoy. Otherwise excellent.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the customer service I received from your restaurant. My order was delivered to me hours late, which was a huge inconvenience for my family. When I called to express my disappointment, the manager I spoke with was extremely rude, unhelpful and dismissive.

I like the food here and the choice of dishes. The service can vary at different times and not just because of it being busy. It's not a cheap place to eat and being in Berkhamsted doesn't help. This being said it won't stop me from eating there.

Food was very disappointing for the price. Onion starter lacked in flavour and masala didn't taste anything like the many I have had, the rice was also very overcooked and mushy. The staff however were very attentive so I can't fault them on that but overall very underwhelming.

Had a meal here a couple of days back. Must admit to being really Impressed restaurant was spotless, food presentation was spot on. Onto menu, wide choice. I had the chicken shashlik rice and Dahl. Really tasty and food sized portions. Not the cheapest, but the quality and quantity reflects the price Will be back soon!

Food arrived one and a half hours late and lukewarm. Having had an order cancelled by this restaurant on a New Year’s Eve a few years prior I hadn’t learnt my lesson. Won’t be ordering NYE curry from this place again.

Food was absoulutely lovely, just difficult to get into, but at least you know it hasn't spilt in transit. Very flavourful and tasty. The only thing I can say, is maybe the food containers could be labelled with what is in them, as some aren't easy to tell apart.

The food was late, again. It was also cold. We have tried this place twice now and not have a great experience both times.

After 3 visits I’ve decided it’s not for me. Overcooked meat, despicable cocktails & lukewarm beer is not a good night out.

We visited with 2 friends for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. There were a couple of large parties in so the restaurant was noisy, but apart from that the experience was excellent. The food was delicious - well presented and excellent quality. The servers were also knowledgeable and very friendly. We will definitely return.

Visited here with a friend. Had the lamb samosa and onion Bhaji to start, taste was average presentation was good. For main we had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Rogan, tase was good and presentation was good. In general ambiance was good, staff were lovely and food was good but it was a little too pricey for what it was. 4 stars good experience would recommend.

I found the setting and ambience to be better than the service or the quality of the food. Unfortunately when it came to the service we were given the wrong starter, the wrong wine and the wrong water. The mojito served tasted more like a mocktail. We were also not offered any complimentary drinks, wet wipes or mints which is normally standard practice when dining out in an Indian restaurant. The food was sub standard. Only the award winning chetinand lamb was to our satisfaction. Maybe they should shift their focus to the other dishes also. Not to mention there was only 6 bite sized pieces of chicken in our Buddha chicken curry. Our bill came to just short of £100 for two people and that's after sending one of the starters back which was the paneer as it was like eating rubber. Definetely will not be returning as this is obviously a case of style over substance!

Have had several takeaways and eaten in twice. When dining in service has been very slow to the point of complaint. Prices quite high and portion sizes quite small. Much better Indian restaurants in the area.
