Indian Diner in Southend-on-Sea

We will never be eating here ever again. Don't get me wrong the food is lovely. However last night we ordered out dinner. My misses takes her first bite and the chicken had a staple in it!!. Rung the restaurant didn't get a apology or offered a refund. We asked to speak to the manager and was told he wasn't there today but they will get him to call me. It is now the next morning and still no call. The staple peirced my misses tounge and cut her. Totally unacceptable they should of offered some sort of compensation or even a apology. Have been eating from here for years but never again now!!! Lost life long customers over their rudeness and incompetence to customer satisfaction.

Not had a curry from here for sometime but had one from there today and WOW..it was so nice 👌 100% sticking to this place fantastic flavour. When I finished I wanted more

Got a takeaway, my first proper Indian and it was amazing! 10/10 dinner

Ordered last night online but never received the 2nd approval email. Phoned up after 15 minutes to be told computer system not working. Ordered over the phone & told 30mins to collect the order. Duly arrived & paid. Was asked a few times for my name & told it would only be a few minutes. Just under an hour later finally given my order. Appreciate things can go wrong but very poorly handled. If you have an issue stop taking orders. When the customer arrives, don’t keep saying it will be a couple of minutes & then nothing for an hour. That will be my last order, very disappointing & could’ve been easily avoided. Their loss.

First time visiting this Indian restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed! We had the three course offer on a Tuesday, which was such good value for money! I had a chicken tikka starter, chicken balti main with pilau rice and a Naan to share with a friend. The portions were so generous that we had to bring some home to enjoy the next day! Everything was delicious, and I’ve already recommended this to many people following our visit.

Meal nice , service good but it was a Tuesday and they have a good deal on for £15.95, however, when it came to paying because we hadn’t said at the start we were there for the deal we didn’t quality for it. I feel a good establishment would mention as they seated us that they had a deal on tonight. Anyway we over paid because they wouldn’t budge. For this alone I’d probably sack off going again. Doesn’t say on website that you have to state you’re there for a set deal or anywhere in the restaurant itself. Very disappointing. All about profits I feel now after tonight.

Don’t normally leave reviews but had to leave one for this place tonight, the food was amazing ! We had take away, meat samosas they was hand made and delicious, chicken tikka was juicy and perfectly cooked and the korma and jalfrazi was just as delicious really good quality food throughly enjoyed our dinner tonight

Disappointing takeaway! Lacking flavour and although chicken was not tough is was watery as if cooked from frozen. Mushroom rice also bland

We ordered at 6.30pm. It got to around 8pm and we still had no food- we called and were cut off multiple times, but eventually told it would be 5mins. It then got to 8.30 and the driver arrived and said she had the wrong bag, then drove off. We called again and cancelled the order in the end. Another driver then turned up with our order and we sent them away.

We have always purchased from here over the last few years, the last few deliveries have rather been wrong or items missing, or the food has not been up to their normal standards, tonight we ordered at 6.30, driver turns up at 8.30 even though at 7.50 I called them and they told me 5 mins!!! when she arrived at the door she said I have have the wrong order and then left again, service and food has gone downhill and we will not be using them again

Brilliant food, service and price for excellent food.

Fantastic food! Seasoning is great and very light on the spiciness. Service was good. Visited today, me and my husband loved it and will definitely be returning again. Pricing is really good especially for the quality of food.

I ate here for the first time last night with my son. Was very impressed with the service, the waiter suggested a Paneer tikka starter which wasn't on the menu, i had vegetarian vindaloo and asked for hot!.......it certainly was but without losing any of its flavour. Will go here again soon.

The mix jolori is a bomb, if you like spicy then this is the one to go for.

We have just left the Indian diner. The staff where so good. I asked for a dish not on the menu and the waiter spoke to the kitchen and made it happen but not only that it was one of the best curry’s I have had. Service was 5 star. The staff even had time to talk to my young son how had a great time. Well done to the whole of the team 👍

Ordered food for four people. Told one hour but took two hours to arrive. Called twice to ask where the order was and lied too twice that it is on its way. First time we have ordered from them and the last. The bag had obviously been sitting around for ages as the breads were all sweaty and cold. The onion bhajees were undercooked and doughy. Unacceptable.

Had a takeaway delivery last night and the food was very good. Real chicken (not that rubbery frozen stuff we’ve been getting from other places) and it tasted like it was freshly cooked. Only reason it doesn’t get five stars is we waited about an hour and a quarter for it to arrive, I was told 45 to an hour so not terrible but started to worry when it hadn’t turned up by ten past. Would definitely recommend trying this place.

It was real tasty but they forgot to add the rice we ordered.

I have been using Indian dinner for several year's, over that time never had a real issue, tonight waited hour and a Half called to be told out for delivery was cold called Back fobbed off very disappointed

This is the best Indian restaurant around. The staff do their best to look after you whilst you're there, but the best part is the food quality! Everything is cooked really well, meat is soft and tender, prawns are really exceptional and any meat is well marinated and seasoned. These guys deserve their high rating for their quality and brilliant attitude to customers.

Ordered on the website. Food was ready for the time I said I would collect. Meals were excellent.

First time dinners new in the area local barber recommended me and wife walked down on way bumped into my daughter and grandson told them to come with us I ordered my wife ordered my daughter said not really hungry bought a round of drinks my daughter said she would share what we ordered waiters said no sharing not allowed she had to order main dish or leave we got up walked out best to avoid unless you like rude manors

Had a mixed Biriani, Keema Nan, totally beautiful.. as a complimentary when I got home was 2 poppadoms, onion salad (my favourite) and a yogurt dip, this is a new favourite restaurant..

40+ years I avoided the foul glue that is okra. I love Indian Diner food, so tried it, unwillingly, for my health. I'm outraged All these years I've missed, it was gorgeous, really delicious. Thank goodness for this place, I trust the chef and was duly repaid handsomely.Never had a poor meal - always takeaway or delivery - so why go elsewhere? I highly recommend the restaurant

Best best Indian! Blown away this evening with the best takeaway I’ve had in a long time, already excited for next weeks takeaway!!

Experienced first takaway and recieved by delivery. Absolutely delicious and on time, aswell as hot on arrival. Couldn't fault any of the meals. Meats were tender and everything cooked really nicely. The man taking the order was clear and polite and the delivery driver was polite and professional towards my partner. Definitely will be returning and looking forward to it again. I have eaten in the restaurant a few times, I normally have chicken tikka masala to madras strength, with mushrooms rice, it is the best I have eaten in the area even the rice tastes fresh you can taste every spice. I would highly recommend it, service is good polite. Give it a try I know you will be happy.

This is THE best Indian restaurant that l have visited for quite a while. Four of us ate in there on Sat 29th August and were treated with amazing food and fantastic service. Prices are very reasonable for both food and drink. The restaurant is very clean and covid compliant. Highly recommended

Restaurant warm, inviting and great welcome from all the staff, ignored the couple of negative reviews and am delighted, food piping hot and really very tasty, the hot lamb dish I had was one of the most tender meat I have ever eaten, looking forward to my second visit,!

My friends and I dined in on 2/8/20, having not visited for a year. The food was good however unlike other restaurants we have visited no one took our names and phone numbers in case of a corona infection! no one wearing gloves or any ppe, no disposable or online menus to view. I saw two hand sanitiser pumps available and tables distanced but it seems they are not taking the virus and customer safety seriously; its business as normal for them. Additionally, They have registered on the eat out for less website, but we were charged the full amount even though we dined in. Have they pocketed the government handout? Untrustworthy, dangerous and not keen on going again.

I’ve had a lot of Indian takeaways but this is my favourite.

We have been getting takeaways from here for years and the food is consistently excellent, although we rarely get the chance to eat in - until recently. The food was just as good as we expected, but obviously that little bit nicer given that it was fresher than usual. The popadoms were so much nicer as they were still warm and the Nan bread was superb! The Tandoori King Prawn Jalfrezi was amazing and everyone finished their meals. There service was very friendly and they kept our 11-year old son entertained with jokes throughout.

Went on the spur of the moment as fancied curry prior to the football next door in the Oakwood. Not having booked was surprised to see a full booking in the diary for a mid week night when we walked in but a table was found but we had to be out by 8. No problem that's kick off next door!! Sat down to great tasting food, excellent service and a clean environment. Enjoyed it so much we went back three days later for more!

Having enjoyed the quality and cooking of the food for several years, our takeaway last night was very disappointing. We nearly always order lamb tikka biryani amongst other dishes. The meat had not been near a tandoori oven, just lamb fried with rice. Having paid the price for tikka, l felt very cheated. Presumably Sunday night didn't warrant putting the oven on. If you can't offer it on the night, say so. I feel so strongly about it that they have lost my favour and custom. Shame.

Really good food went for the Tuesday night £12.95 special starter,main,breads and sides anything from the menu so great choices management and staff were excellent you will not be disappointed

This was our first visit to the Indian Diner and given the good reviews and comments from our friends we were looking forward to it. Our table was booked for 7 - our friends like to eat early and as the service was so slow it was a good job we did arrive early. We sat down straight away menu and drinks were served but it was 35 minutes before anyone took our order and gone 8 before our starters arrived. We waited another hour for our main courses. The main issue here is that resturant orders are competing with take away orders and obviously the kitchen can’t cope. I hoped that the food would make up for all the waiting - it didn’t. I could tell just by looking at the food that the sauces has not been made in the traditonal way. Most of the dishes were almost tasteless and everything tasted the same. The resturant is small cramped and people are constantly in and out collecting take away food.. It was like sitting in a railway station. The staff were surly, unhelpful and rude. Would I recommend - definately not. Would I go there again - NO!

We were lucky enough to be introduced to the Indian Diner by friends who had eaten here previously. As they advised the staff were indeed very friendly and welcoming and the food was tasty and plentiful.One of the more enjoyable Indian meals we have had in the area for a long while.

I had been to the Indian Diner before and decided to take my wife there on our most recent visit to Essex from California. The meal was very very tasty and despite us being the only diners late that night, we still received great service. We shares the chicken and kheema Balti special along with the coconut rice and garlic naan. Really nice combo and great portions.

Its been a while since our last visit here. I have to say we all really enjoyed the food and the service was good. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies and there was some left but it was all delicious. Best sag paneer any of us had eaten.

Really good Indian Restaurant with a fantastic midweek offer every Tuesday well worth booking in advance on Tuesdays and excellent value.

Very small place, seating arrangements not great. Sat towards the front near door. There was a large party sat in the middle of the room, who were noisy, disruptive, messy and their kids were obnoxious. They kept getting up in groups to go outside to smoke, kids were left to run riot throwing food around (floor/walls/chairs). Not a pleasant experience.

Went last night with friends for their Tuesday special. Such good value for money! We all had a good mixture of dishes and everything was cooked fresh and to perfection. This really is a great Indian restaurant and for it to be local to us is a real bonus.

My sister and her husband were up to visit us from Devon. I booked a table for 4 and was glad I did as it got quite busy. The food was definitely 5 star quality. Will definitely be visiting again.

Staying near Rayleigh, I wanted an Indian takeaway and settled on getting it from the Indian Diner in Eastwood. Food was ready quickly, it was plentiful and tasted really good. The chef knows what he is doing, as every aspect of the food was cooked to perfection. I only wish this place was closer to my own Home.

We visited this diner many times, it's the best tasting food around here by far! Great atmosphere, great service, great food, reasonable prices, if you've never been here give it a try! I promise you that you won't be disappointed!
