Had a takeaway from Leigh Spice for the first time last night. Pre-ordered online during the afternoon. The food arrived on time and was clearly labelled. It looked fantastic, the portions were very good and all of the meat was of decent quality and generous sized pieces. All the family agreed it was an excellent takeaway. Probably one of the best we've had in a while. I went for the Lamb Tikka Korai with Mushroom Rice (see photo). Definitely recommend this takeaway. Go try it - you won't be disappointed...

Not been here for nearly 5 years, so as our usual one is getting more expensive and seems to be less food we looked for an alternative for a take out, easy online order and pay, food was generous sized portions but above all a very good price, got a large amount for 3 people at £28 inc Half a Tandoori Chicken, Balti, Pathia, naan and a large starter, and large salad, our usual would be nearer £40 now, just a takeaway outlet so less overheads, complimentary cut Orange and Popadoms, good food and service, and a very favourable price.

A Takeaway with Restaurant quality. I ordered a vindaloo, jalfazi, nan and onion rice. The vindaloo source was just right, the jalfazi was hot with lots of chilli, onions and peppers.Non of the dishes had a greasy top layer, both dishes were full of flavour and good size portions. Takeaways are a bit hit and miss. This one is definitely a hit.

We'd never tried Leigh Spice before, but thought we'd give it a try, as it had received some good reviews. It didn't disappoint; the delivery was fast, and the food was excellent! Quantities were ample, and the amount of good quality meat in the various dishes was exceptional! We made a couple of special requests to deal with special dietary requirements and preferences, and these were dealt without any issues. Next time we want an Indian takeaway, we'd have no hesitation in ordering from Leigh Spice again.

I’ve been eating Indian since a very young boy, I used to go to the Mitalee from around 1996-2006 then it changed owner ship and went downhill. Since then I have been looking for an Indian restaurant that matches what I ate in my childhood, I’ve found many nice Indians I have used over the years but nothing quite matched what I remembered from my childhood. I was starting to think it couldn’t be matched, but I can say this matched up!! The food was piping hot, the curry sauce was full of rich flavours and a nice thick consistency, chicken was really tender and the onion bhaji were moist on the inside crunchy on outside! I can’t fault the food, 10/10 The takeaway came with mint and mango sauce and an orange to top off the meal for a freshen up after! My new local! Exceeded my expectations.

This is a takeaway/delivery only place in Leigh-on-Sea, and the food is mostly good. The menu is very extensive, with all the usual list of curries that nearly every Indian restaurant in Britain does, but there are also some extras and some really good chef's specials which I would recommend. A Gosht Bhuna curry consisted of lamb in a really delicious sauce with mint as well as onions and herbs and spices. It was excellent, and only very mildly spicy, letting all the flavours come through. A starter of Tandoori chicken though was dry and the chicken a bit undercooked on the bone. Rice was perfectly cooked, and they took the trouble to also send pots of chilli sauce and yoghurt, and a free salad, which most places don't bother to do. Portions are generous in size, and prices very reasonable. And, they don't have a £20 minimum for delivery, which so many places insist on.

I ordered a takeaway on JustEat last month and it was really good and so I wanted to order from here again. JustEat said they rejected my order (And I was charged, but understand I’ll be getting a refund at some point). No call from the restaurant or explain why they rejected it and so I called them. They don’t deliver to SS6 apparently and yet they did so before! And then why does JustEat still list them when I put my postcode in! Poor service. Shame as the food was excellent.

I have forgotten how long I have been a customer here: it has been that long! The food is excellent and whenever we travel both abroad and in the UK, if we decide to eat Indian food the comparison is always to this restaurant (unless we are actually in India which of course sets its own measure). So for us hundreds of meals later this is still the best choice Value for money is outstanding and the range and quality of the dishes (I have tried about 25 mains plus a host of the side dishes, breads and bhajis) is always 1st class.

I have always ordered from the same Indian restaurant in Leigh which on a average was around £40 for 2 the food was good but not as good as Leigh spice, give it a try it’s amazing, best Indian food I have tasted. Plus it’s amazing value around £10 cheaper than my old Indian and food a million times better; don’t get it delivered as it takes a long time

We have been looking for a decent Indian Takeaway that delivers for a very long time, and at last we have found one. Delivery was within the time given both times we have ordered, and each time the food had been hot and delicious. Peshwari naan to die for. Would definitely recommend and will definitely order again.

Use this place now and again and it always seems to be good, even better if you order and collect on the spot as you get 10% off the already very good value menu, certainly very reasonable pricing and generous amount of food/meat, complimentary popadoms/onion salad, cards accepted, has a very good 4 out of 5 Food hygiene rating too, friendly service.

We get all our Indian take-aways from here, probably one a month. It has a standard Indian restaurant menu, nothing out of the ordinary, but the meat is always good quality, they are happy to adjust dishes slightly for your own taste and will deliver free within a certain radius.

Just got a take away for the first time from Leigh Spice on the London Rd near Thames Drive (not to be confused with Leigh-on-Spice near Belfairs Park) and it was excellent. Super food, delivered at the time they said - and with little extras like extra chutney for the popadoms and slices of orange for after!! Highly recommended.

Ordered a takeaway on New Year's Day evening, the first time we have used Leigh Spice. Delivery was at the time specified, delivery guy was friendly and the food was tasty with good sized portions. It could have done with being a little hotter (temperature, not spice-wise!) but we enjoyed the meal and will definitely order from here again. Recommended.

We were impressed. We had a take-away for four (about £47) on a Saturday evening (they were busy) and all the dishes were substantial and tasty. The chickpea bhaji for example almost filling the foil container. The vegetables had retained both taste and texture too. Ample extra free poppadoms, sauces and fresh orange slices (a nice surprise) came with our dinner. We will go back. A good high standard of food at a good 'par for the course' price amongst a lot of local competition. This TA listing street address is the take away (not restaurant) on the London Road at the SW corner of the junction with Thames Drive/ Sutherland Boulevard. I think that one reviewer may have been reviewing the old Pipasha Restaurant which is near the Woodcutters.

So much publicity in local press about how great the take away is from Zafrans opposite Chalkwell Prk, yes agree it is fabulous but when it comes to an Indian Take Away to compete and beat then Leigh Spice is it. Tucked away jus by the junction at Thames Drive (A13) this place really does serve up the most exquisit, freshly produced Indian food. Their menu is extensive and includes their own specialities.Too many to mention but when you view their menu the price and variation are first class. What sets this take away apart from others is the additional touches, if you order a couple of popudoms then you always get this doubled at no extra price, dips (selection of 3) are always included as too is a nice side salard. Meals delivered are always meg hot and people who deliver most welcoming. So if you are thinking of a Friday / Saturday Indian takeaway then can I please recommend Leigh Spice to really deliver on quality, price and service.

Our family and my group of friends have been frequenting this restaurant for years, and in the last year or so it has been dropping off in every respect so when we heard that it had changed hands, a few friends and I decided to give it a try a few weeks ago. How glad we were that we did! we had always started the evening with a beer at a pub, then adjourned to this restaurant for a buffet on a weekday - good value and very edible food. The new management had taken down the pictures to decorate (they're coming back shortly) and the first obvious change was just how friendly everyone was - they make an effort and not because they have to, but it seems they're just friendly people.Today, our family fancied a curry and it had been decided to use a different place as we were getting tired of the Pipash, but I explained how it had changed hands and so we gave it a go and booked for seven of us.What a difference. We have eaten in many Indian (Bangladeshi) restaurants over the years but this was a big step up from any we have tried, especially locally. The attentive staff were so friendly and it wasn't put on - they seem as if they are just naturally like that, it made the evening, especially hearing Naz explain all his recipes. (and I mean ALL of them!)The place is owned by the three chefs and they produced the most amazing food. Naz even gave us a complimentary special that he was particularly proud of and it was just outstanding. The cost was no different than before but the food was on a different level altogether. The flavours were intense, unusual, I can't think of a better way to describe it, and it's all freshly made. I had the Salmon Tikka and it was cooked perfectly, God alone knows what spices they used but it was just so delicious. They'll tune the heat to what you fancy and it seems that nothing is too much trouble. The usual pre-made sweet course menus arrived and as with all restaurants, we let that go. Frankly, it would have devalued the flavours we'd just enjoyed!I know it's a small thing, but even the coffee was exceptional - free refills too, complete with fresh cream!I think what really impressed me was the way the owner took Mum's arm to help her out to the car. He didn't have to do that, his Nan is 100 and his Mum 75, I think he just has that respect for older people and it was nice to see.The quirky bits are the new name of the restaurant, I would have chosen something Bangladeshi, a bit more authentic, and the menus needed a bit of proof-reading, but this only adds to the character of the place.Do yourself a favour, go and try it. If all you want is the friendly service - have the buffet, apparently they're going to add to the selection as the weeks pass. Better still, choose from the specials on the menu and let Naz advise you - his enthusiasm is infectious, and he is a clearly passionate about his dishes. What a lovely place to spend the evening, and the staff made it perfect, even when they're trying to sign you up to their Gold Card.
