Excellent food. Reallly tasty.

There was an insect in my food. It was not alive and looks like it had been fried. I can never order from this place again despite loving the food previously. Incredibly disappointed.

Lovely tandoori salmon, will definitely buy again!

We ordered a takeaway tonight, the food was of good flavour but it turned up cold and the portions were tiny! my partner and I were hungry after finishing our food! We had to cook something after as we were still hungry! Waste of £35 tbh we may as well of cooked something instead of ordering as we ended up doing that anyway, the naan was small, the popadom pickles were tiny for 80p each and hardly enough for one portion! My chicken was tough, can’t fault the flavour but portion size was ridiculous

Terrible Experience - Feels Like a Scam I recently ordered food from this restaurant, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. I ordered a paneer chili and a chicken chili, and I must say, I've never encountered such poor quality in my life. It felt like I had ordered from a scam restaurant. Firstly, the paneer chili was a joke. There were just four or five tiny pieces of paneer surrounded by onions and capsicum, all sautéed in butter. It was something I could have easily made better at home. And to charge £11 for that measly portion? Outrageous. As for the chicken chili, it was all gravy with just two or three pieces of chicken in it. Again, the quality was abysmal. It felt like another scam, and the taste was terrible. To make matters worse, I had specifically requested cutlery as I was staying in a hotel and needed it since it was around 9:30-10:00 PM and stores were closed. They didn't send any cutlery, and when I called to ask why, they rudely responded that they didn't have any. Overall, this place doesn't deserve to be called a restaurant. It's a complete scam. Save your money and order from somewhere else.

Great food - lovely prawn madras

I wish there was an option to give more stars for the service as we were treated like royalty! We went as a family of 4 and they were happy to alter dishes to suit all palates (including our 8 year old). We all loved the dishes and the chicken was so fresh! It was a real treat night out. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you

We spent £60+ on a takeaway. We had 3 onion bhaji starters but were only sent 2 salads and raitas. . The Persian Byriani was essentially just Pilau Rice with little flavour and no fruit and nut topping. The Tandoori Chicken was moist and well flavoured but the Lamb Chop Tandoori disappointing with thin dried out chops. Would not order again.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times over the years, as I grew up living around the corner. My most recent visit was for a charity fundraising meal, and I’ve never been disappointed! On a previous visit with family I was keen to try something new beyond the more popular things I was already familiar with, so after discussing what I did and didn’t like, I was brought the most delicious dish - it was getting on for 10 years ago now so can’t recall exactly what it was, and I’m not even 100% sure it was something on the regular menu, but that’s the kind of attention and care taken - always such warm service and willingness to help people (the family are big supporters of the local community and charities). Every other dish I’ve had is tasty and well executed, with tender meat, lots of flavour and never too oily. Personally I’ve never found anything too spicy, though I’m reliably informed by relatives that their hot curries are appropriately eye watering when requested to be. What stood out to me in particular this time was their naan bread - it’s absolutely divine, buttery and with a slight crispness where the dough bubbles cook, but delightfully pillowy and light to bite into. The food for the charity night was served platter style for each table, with plenty to go around - including the naan, which I wish I could have finished off but I was too full! I don’t think I’ve ever managed to leave enough room to try a dessert so can’t comment on that but perhaps that needs to be my mission next time… Thank you to the team for a great night and I hope The Polash remains a Shoeburyness institution for years to come.

Finding Parking was a bit tricky but that’s not the restaurants fault… This was our first visit here. We were warmly welcomed and looked after the whole evening, good service and the food was delicious. We will definitely return. Thank you

Always perfect from the polash

Lovely, definitely found my new Indian. The food was perfectly spiced. Big portions and nicely presented. Food was hot when arrived. Free salad was fresh.

Fantastic food, will he ordering again

I have eaten in the restaurant twice now and both times I was very happy with the food and service. The restaurant has a lovely traditional decor and the food is top notch. The owner is very welcoming and is attentive to all aspects of the running of the restaurant.

Dansak was lovely, Shashlick was disappointing, little peppers or onions. Sag aloo, too many potatoes. Still a quality meal and will order again in the future.

I'm sorry to say but possibly the worst Indian takeaway we've ever had. Prices were at the higher end, portions extremely stingey, we both ordered dishes which are traditionally hot but both had zero heat to them, and despite being completely different curries, the sauce seemed to be exactly the same. Chilli paneer had no taste of chilli at all and there were 4 tiny pieces in a portion. I rarely review anything but I thought this was particularly worthy of criticism. Definitely won't go back.

Had Christmas day lunch there in 2017 and returned last month for dinner. Still excellent.

Sheikhk Khalifa's team provided a fantastic meal of curries rice and samosas for my party of 28 relatives. Everything was tasty hot and delivered on time. We've been going to this restaurant for over 40 years and the friendliness of all the staff and the quality of the food keeps us coming back.

All of the currys were bland and rest of the dishes were not worth the money. First time we have ordered from here, don't think I would order from here again.

I have eaten in the Polash many times. This was the poorest in terms of food quality by a long way. The food was unpleasantly sweet and unappetising to look at because of the use of food colouring. It will be some time before I risk using them again. It may seem harsh to give a poor rating for time but15 minutes is a big margin.

Absolutely brilliant curries as always, had the Moricha which was spicy and fresh. Only down side was onion bhajis were missing but everyone makes mistakes. This is a brilliant restaurant.

Food was very nice and good service

The food I found very poor, made from cheap ingredients, the dessert was a simple tin of fruit cocktail you have as a kid. Unfortunately a waste of money.

The butter chicken curry was £12 which is very expensive, there was maybe 5 small pieces of chicken. I ordered a daal, they barely filled the container to half. Waste of money, not happy at all. Won’t be going back.

As usual had a lovely meal,nothing is to much trouble given advice on contents of food, a really nice evening.
