This had become my go to curry place that I’ve ranted about to others as being the best in the area. Granted I ordered 20 mins before closing time, but the taste was non existent, the chicken was as tough as old boots. Seemed like a real rush job after so many good Currys from here before..

Food from Yak and Yeti has always been good. The delivery driver was very polite and kind. Our food arrived 30 mins earlier than expected so that also was a nice surprise.

Always the best food and service from here, so much flavour and always early. Everything is good but the Jinga Dhal is our favourite 😋

We have tried them all from Leigh on sea down to Thorpe bay...Yak and yeti is by far the best food , not your normal boring food, this you can taste all the ingredients as you eat , each dish has its own unique flavour and comes up served it traditional pots n pans. The staff are very nice polite and friendly and do not ester you at all . I have no problems recommending Yak and Yeti to everyone and all . Give ita go ...you wont regret it ...the lamb Byrani is amazing

First time here. Takeaway which blew your taste buds. This is a really unique taste and absolutely addictive. Delivery was prompt. And to be honest. Best takeaway ever had. The starter I had shadeko lamb ...wow can eat as a main with garlic naan. The yak and yeti mixed grill was so full of meat. Every individual item exquisite. No need to fill up with rice. What more can you say

It's mid-range rather than super budget friendly, but the quality is much much higher than the price. We had a large group and every single dish was absolutely delightful (we all loved our own so much we encouraged sharing with each other to try a range.) I'm no stranger to curries and fairly hard to please, but I loved everything including some of the sweet-savoury foods I usually avoid. The service was also on point and they were very patient with us. The setting is clean and relaxing with a luxurious vibe.

Great selection of vegan and vegetarian main courses. Some really unusual dishes with great flavours! Average spend around £30 for a main course, rice and a couple of drinks.

Had a very nice meal at yak and yeti, service was very good , 2 of our party had the chilli chicken and said it was certainly spicy🥵 My wife had the korma which she said was lovely. Would have given 5 stars but my chicken shaslik was not as good has I have had at other restaurants. All in all a good night

One of the best Nepalese restaurants around. I always go here for my birthday. Been for 2-3 years without fail. Every time I go there I haven’t been disappointed. Everyone should try this place. One of the best. Staff are always friendly and good atmosphere and food is impeccable.

Clean restaurant, good layout and well dressed tables. Staff are friendly and are well dressed. Food is very nice and is well served. The Biryani dish was different to how we expected to be served, thought the meat dish would be served as a dish itself and the rice separate. However very nicely displayed and served. The Bombay Aloo was excellent, the potatoes were cooked fresh (could tell).

Went for a meal with some colleagues. Had a wonderfull time. Food was spot on. Beer was cold. All in all a very nice meal.

I went to this restaurant in March and April with friends. Lovely clean restaurant. Excellent kind staff. Food is excellent!! Staff go out of their way with service and you are not waiting long for service, drinks or food. This is my favourite restaurant in Essex. A really nice meal, I ate too much, this was due to the food being so tasty!

One container of curry obviously didn’t have the its lid on properly when it was put in the bag. As a result most of that dish had spilt all over the other dishes and the inside of the delivery bag (I have pics of required). What was left tasted ok, however the other meal was more or less inedible as it was so salty (to the point where my wife had to throw it away). Normally the food and delivery from Yak and Yeti is excellent but tonight it was just so so poor

I have spoken to the restaurant as the quality of the butter chicken was poor the chicken hard and meat seemed old also it was far too spicy for a butter chicken they have offered to refund but said it needs to be done through you please advise

Having a birthday on a Monday is not a great day but decided to try a new place to eat and am glad to say we did, the food is amazing! Everything was cooked fresh and tasted perfect!!! We even took home a doggy bag as was far to much to eat but will have lunch tomorrow, staff were very friendly but not in your face and can honestly say we will be returning.

Absolutely outstanding food, jam packed with flavour and very hot and fresh. The Hariyali chicken packed a punch, quite spicy and incredibly flavourful. The Jhaneko khukhra was full of flavour, chicken was incredibly tender, a great introduction to nepalese food. Even the special fried rice on its own was very nice. The menu is also well laid out with vivid descriptions of each dish, it really helps with deciding what to order. Highly recommend this place.

Meat and Veggie Thali are well worth trying out. Very tasty and really good value.

Delicious food as always, but waited 2hrs 15mins for it to arrive and had to call restaurant. They did say they would refund us our meal but we didn’t receive a refund. Shame as the food is excellent.

Ordered £30 0f food for delivery and dint get any complimentary poppadoms, would have ordered them but thought this was a complimentary item.

Looked forward to our delivery, turned up fairly hot ok. I love having a lamb biriyani and always finish them. This second time I’ve had one from here tasted soggy, watery and a strange taste Have seen a few other reviews saying it’s butch made, frozen then microwaved. Thus the stickers on top of containers to render what’s been cooked. Not fresh. Only could mange quarter microwave container Think stick to local Indian. Not a place that does three different types of cooking.

Excellent food, we have had takeaways from here for 2 years, always superb food and excellent service.

My first time at the yuck and yeti. My biriani was well presented on a lovely gold plater with a potion of veg curry. However, my biriani, which is usually my favourite dish, was over salted and wet. I fail to see why the waiter asked if everything is ok when not prepared to do anything about it if you complain. My complaint was ignored. I paid full price but didn’t enjoy my meal. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you like lots of salt on your food.

Ordered from this restaurant many times over the past year or so and tried many different dishes. The food is just simply fantastic. If don’t want a ordinary ‘run-of-the-mill’ curry then I highly recommend Yak & Yeti.

Been meaning to go here for years and glad I did. Everything was great. The staff were very very helpful. We had to wait for friend who was late and they kept the buffet open for us. I will be going back as soon as I can.

Another nice buffet meal this weekend. Plenty of choice and fresh things being brought out all the time. Good value for money. We always say it these guys need to smile and show some warmth to their customers. It goes a long way.

Came for a lady raising money for charity. All seated ready for buffet. All paid upfront. Popadoms were brought to the table with the sauces etc. Approx 15 mins later a waiter just slapped a receipt plate on table and said £10 for popadoms we were all shocked as usually popadoms come with a meal. So the restaurant made an extra £100 on popadoms from our tables Terrible still cannot believe it

Never had a bad meal from Yak and Yeti. Their food is really tasty, always hot and very consistent.

The order came earlier than expected, not a huge issue but I was putting the kids to bed when it arrived. The food was pretty decent, the achari gosht isn't as good as has been previously and my chilli and garlic rice had no chilli which was a bit disappointing. The naan was fine, not as good as used to be but still decent enough. My wife and her mate enjoyed their meals.

Friday 6th October ....Thought we would try the Yak again after not going for a couple of years due to very poor food/takeaways. What a mistake!! Really bad food AGAIN. Onion bhaji was so hard and dry, had it been re heated many times??? Poppadoms soft and bendy, chicken biryani had a very strange taste and a lot of mint in it unpleasant, chicken in our chicken tika was not edible, very strange texture/unpleasant. The only thing we could eat was a cold garlic nann !!!! very very poor again !

I’d thought l would give this curry house a try, it sounded like a slight variation on what is a normal curry and wasn’t disappointed. Quite rich and strong ( vindaloo with veg rice) and generous in size. The sag aloo was very good, largish spinach leaves instead of the usual minced leaves normally found made for a very pleasant experience. Will definitely order from them again. Thank you

Food arrived hot and at time requested. Food was tasty, but popadoms were a little stale and wasn’t too keen on the samosas but that’s personal preference. Wasn’t the best curry I’ve had but was still nice.

Went to the Yak and Yeti this evening with my wife, and the food was up to its usual high standard. We find the Nepalese food much less greasy than traditional Indian food. The staff are always friendly and have a great rapport with their customers. Would highly recommend this restaurant, its a cut above the average, and deserves its high rating.

This Sunday evening, we decided to go to Yak and Yeti for their weekly buffet special. We have been customers since the early start of this year and this was our 3rd visit. The first time we went, we had the a La carte menu and the second time we had their buffet. Each occasion we went, we could not fault the food, although our only complaint was the prices of their popadoms which are normally complimentary at other restaurants. However, this occasion, when we decided to have their buffet again, it was a completely different experience for the worst. Firstly, we noticed the furnishings and decor were not up to previous cleanliness standards. There were dirt marks over the walls, the nails were sticking out of the woodwork and the ceiling was a yellow/brown colour where there clearly was a ceiling leak before. Secondly, we found the waiting staff to be clumsy, dropping our knives and forks on the floor. Lastly, our biggest concern was the quality of the food. The food at the buffet was cold, the chicken was chewy, some of the chicken was slightly pink and other bits of the chicken had blood spots where this had not been removed from the chicken properly. Our last and biggest issue with the food was that the freshly cooked food was being mixed in with the cold foods they were meant to be replacing which is a huge health and safety concern. When we asked for the bill, the manager came over and asked if anything was wrong with the food. We didn’t want to cause a big fuss so we tried to say there wasn’t anything to complain about. However, the manager kept pushing due the the foods left on our plates which made us quite uncomfortable. Then he started complaining about us leaving so much food to then be thrown away. Because of this, we explained our reasons for leaving the food but he became defensive, making it feel like we were at fault. We don’t like confrontation and we were not planning on writing this review but due the manager’s conduct, we felt it was necessary and wanted to share our bad experience.

Dreadful Indian. If you’re ordering a delivery my advice is to repeat how much they are charging in numbers rather than the price as we ended up paying £5 more than we were told on the phone. It wouldn’t have been too bad if we had ordered a meal instead of a few side dishes to enhance a curry we had cooked. What arrived did nothing to enhance the meal and was less than average. Sag aloo with a few huge chunks of potato chucked in what appeared to be an afterthought, beige tasteless mushroom bhaji and a peshwari nann that was devoid of sultanas. We won’t be ordering from here again, just dreadful!

Missing items not rectified by Just Eat or the restaurant. Ordered a Birayni at a whopping £14, arrived with no vegetable side. Checked menu to confirm it should come with a veg side. Contact JE - useless. They can’t investigate the issue as I don’t have a photograph… tried to explain that it’s really not possible to take a photograph of a missing item but they don’t seem to understand that. Unfortunately won’t be ordering here again.
