I went for lunch with my Mum, brother and sister. We had excellent service from Lindsey and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend this cafe.
We visited on the basis of TA reviews and found the place to be a good chippy. The team are certainly friendly and focussed on all their customers, which is smashing. As well as the traditional fish n chip fayre, the menu has some specials which all sounded tasty...we'll try some of those on our next visit.
My haddock and chips were fine, not a big portion but enough. Everybody else reported their meals were tasty too.
Prices are reasonable and service is quick (and friendly)!
Lovely independent cafe a short distance from the pier. Showcases local art and interesting glass artwork, all reasonably priced. Super cappuccino and tea, I thoroughly recommend the delicious fruitcake. Also serves light lunches.
Visited for a Sunday lunch. Beautiful Tradition Roast dinner perfectly cooked and served by wonderful friendly welcoming staff. Pudding was a must! We will be back :) 5^
My go do for anything from a take away coffee to a lunch out. Their sandwiches are great and there’s a nice range for all the family and vegan and gluten feee options too.
Ps: The homemade tiramisu is a must ❤️
I organised a day out on the broads for my partners birthday, after booking the boat, I was recommended Vic @ The Steam Room to arrange a picnic basket. Well what a recommendation that was. Vic was very helpful over the phone organising it all and explaining the numerous choices we could have. On the day, he was very friendly and swiftly prepared our feast and provided everything we had ordered for our day ahead. Homemade sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls (may I state some of the best I’ve ever had), fresh fruit, fresh donuts, crisps and finally some cold drinks. All within a loaned picnic basket to keep cool. 10/10 service, 10/10 quality of food. If you’re wanting food for your day out, or just a spot of lunch, here’s the place you should visit.
We had a cream tea ,two doggie ice creams in the courtyard delicious. Also purchased a couple of bits and pieces in the sale, make up bag and door stop. Such good value. Popped into deli tea shop further down the road more expensive but I don’t think any better. Very dog friendly could do with fresh water in the courtyard tiny niggle. I’m use they would have replaced the water if I’d asked. Love the place think it’s great would call again if ever in the area.
Definitely visit this restaurant!
We had a lovely mix of food. Don't be put off by the small menu, the dishes are authentic and delicious. Wonderful atmosphere, run by lovely folks.
Give it a go for something different to the usual chain restaurants. Will be going again soon and recommending it to friends.
What a truly fabulous old fashioned pub with very welcoming landlady Anni and her customers, especially Janet and Peter, when we joined in Quingo yesterday afternoon. It was thrilling to win the picture quiz. The room was warm and cosy due to its great wood burner stove. The complimentary sandwiches were an added bonus! Thank you so much for the welcome and will join you all again in the New Year.
We were looking for somewhere in Flamstead where we could meet some friends before walking to Markyate and back. We spotted this coffee shop and were very pleased to have found it. It is obviously enjoyed by locals but we were also made very welcome. The various coffees we had were of excellent quality and flavour. The biscuits we had (including gluten-free for one of our party) were very good. The cakes looked delicious. The lady running it was very friendly. We'll be happy to return.
Gracias.
