As by my self , I visited here for lunch this day . As usual I was Not Disappointed by my choice of food . Their home made ( by one of the owners ) Shepherds Pie is , I am tempted to say outstanding . The Minced Lamb therein was cooked just right , with a small amount of diced vegetables and gravy . The Mashed Potatoes on the top were soft and buttery . It comes with ( proper ) green cabbage and carrots , but I declined the Carrots . Plus a jug of thickish tasty gravy , that complimented the whole dish ! Although very busy this lunchtime , I did not have to wait too long for the freshly cooked to order food . Both the proprietors are friendly and make you feel welcome in their establishment . Well Recommended !!

We have been here a few times and the standard is always the same, excellent. The café is run by one couple. Ordered an all day breakfast which was well cooked, well presented and hot. The couple who run it are always, without fail, polite and very accommodating, and the prices are very reasonable too. They have a good menu and from what I saw on another table, they appear to be licensed. Will we go back? Absolutely. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. A small café bistro with that extra touch. Give it a try.

Deborah and Kevin were amazingly accommodating when I asked them to do a Sunday roast for 13 on my 60th birthday weekend which happened to be the same day as Mother’s Day! Nothing was too much trouble. I put the spanner in the works further on the morning of the lunch and asked them to add 2 people as my sister and son had surprised me from Bangkok! So there we were amongst all the Mother’s Day tea parties going on and we had an absolutely lovely time. The staff were wonderful. Deborah had even gone to the trouble of buying extra pepper grinders for us. One of my friends was coeliac and they went out of their was for a GF roast for her. The roasts were amazing and it was just the vibe I’d wanted for a post big party lunch. Thank you! Go and have breakfast or lunch or even a special afternoon tea. It’s a very unique place!

We visited here today to take my partner’s Mother out for a Mother’s Day Meal. It was most excellent ! The food was freshly cooked and the portions generous . The proprietor and His Wife always go the extra mile , as far as their customers are concerned . I had Roast Beef with all the trimmings etc . Special mention for the excellently cooked Beef and the Roast Potatoes were good to eat. A lovely family meal was enjoyed by the three of us .

As we often do we visited this lovely restaurant for our lunch , on a cold and damp winter’s day I had their Winter ( Beef ) Stew with Homemade Suet Dumplings….. Exceptional good quality , plenty of Beef with lots of vegetables and two Dumplings . The Gravy was rich with a meaty taste . My partner choose a Baguette with Grated Cheese and chopped Red onions , served with a side salad . Again exceptional good ! The proprietors are friendly and make you feel “at home “ Plus I had a piece of the home made Bread Pudding , and Julie had a home made cake . To take away for later today

Very happy to add this cafe for one that provides tasty food with excellent service especially as it's the first we reach on walks into town. The cafe is welcoming with a range of display artefacts, some available for purchase I think. I was too busy looking at the menu and Specials board. Sunday roasts went down well it appeared. I had the jacket with pulled beef, jacket potato and salad. My wife has the chicken with mayo lemon. All freshly prepared with a proper salad. All tasty, especially the proper jacket potato and beef. My coffee was extra hot as requested.

Visited today for brunch after seeing the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. We were warmly welcomed and picked a table. I had the triple cheese and bacon toastie and my partner had the meaty cooked breakfast. Both were beautifully presented and very delicious. The coffee was very good. The staff were very friendly and engaged in conversation. I look forward to trying something different next time.

Best Nando’s meal I’ve had and the best service in any restaurant for some time. Shout to the guy that served me — ended my day on a good note!

6 of us ladies of leisure had breakfast in here this morning. Have been here a few times and they never disappoint. Food and service is consistently good. Run by a lovely friendly family. We all opted for omelettes ( different fillings) and they were perfect. Good coffee as well. Will be making this a more regular haunt . Can’t recommend enough
