We struggled to get a reservation but the place was deserted the whole time we were there. Decor is tired. Service was casual to be generous. TV blaring in the background was out of place and unnecessary. Food was very average, bland, but lots of meat. Chicken was amazingly tender but tasteless. Pop Adams were not crisp, almost chewy. And no mention of no alcohol license which isn’t a problem if informed before arrival. Such a shame. We really looked forward to our visit and went home very disappointed Maybe they concentrate more on the takeaway business

Ordered meal online, asked for delivery as we were staying in our caravan locally. The meal arrived as per request and the food was very very good,all in all no complaints

My sister in law is coeliac and they were excellent at dealing with this. Allergens and the information about them was displayed on the menu and in the restaurant. The staff were knowledgeable and careful about this too. The food and service were very good and all 8 of us had a brilliant meal in a busy restaurant. We were super impressed.

Ordered for dine in, customer service very bad, there is one person standing on till talking very rude while asking about foods,telling that somebody ordered the food and didn’t given money”somebody done like this before”, judging customers while seeing, very bad experience from man who is standing on till, i just asked for owner number for saying this, he told he is the owner and tell to him, then he told that the owner comes later, very worst and bad experience that happened this year

Food great we dined in, can be a bit noisy if a large party in.

2 x Pathia, 2 x Keeman Nan, 1 Onion Nan, were very good and no complaints from the 2 that ate them. The score marked low for the following reasons, often you get complimentory poppadom in Birmingham, but here you didn't, I am not so bothered about that as its a business and nothing is free rule applies, so for those reading the review take note when ordering. The starter Reshmee Kebab was VERY dry came with no salad or sauce very unusual. Egg Pilau - was not egg pilau delivery was wrong. Naga (Lamb) @£10.75 - whilst the sauce was very nice what was served WAS NOT LAMB, It was either Beef or Mutton, I am debating with myself if I should call trading standards about this, as if it was advertised as MEAT Naga then you take the risk and you eat what you get beef, mutton or what ever. This was clearly ordered and advertised as Lamb but it wasn;t. Such a shame as the flavours of all the curries were very nice. ruined by the minor issues and the major meat issue. I wouldn't say avoid this place, but I would say avoid the "LAMB"

Oh my goodness. My husband and I were on holiday with our little girl this week and fancied a curry. I can without doubt say that this was genuinely one of the best curries I have eaten in my life and we are from the midlands where there are plenty of Asian restaurants to chose from! I can’t comment on the restaurant itself or the ambience as it was a takeaway but the food was incredible! I am just gutted I have found such a wonderful curry so far from where I live!

Staying nearby at a caravan park - delighted to find such a gem on our doorstep! Quality food at very reasonable prices, excellent service delivered to the entrance of the park, will definitely order again on our next trip

Extremely rude service from the man who served me when I went back in and questioned the fact that something was missing from my order. Hair in two out of the three dishes. Bang average taste of the food.

Loved the meal. Me and my friends 4 diners went in last minute and was hosted by the staff who were friendly and polite. Was helpful with our menu and there was an excellent selection to choose from. We all had something different and they catered to our needs. Atmosphere was very relaxing and had a great time. Highly recommend and will be visiting again soon. 😀

Food was bland, both had lamb dishes with different sauces. (Madras,Mysha) Each only had about 6 small strips of lamb in which were tough and overcooked and swamped in very runny sauces. Mushroom Rice ok but smaller portions than your average takeaway. Ordered chilli and garlic Naan, barely any garlic and definitely no chilli. They also wouldn't honour the 10% discount for collection either. Onion bhaji was good. All in all, paid over the odds for below par food. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back.

Absolutely disgusted paid £38 for soggy poppadoms,cold chips and chicken that was diced within an inch of it's life. The satay chicken was a joke all in all a very unsatisfactory experience never to be repeated and I can guarantee it won't. Owners should be ashamed to send food to paying customers. NO EXCUSES will ever excuse this abomination of food. Authentic Indian cuisine is a joke and an insult.

Fantastic takeaway dinner we ordered 30 minutes before collecting. The waiting times can be longer. They also have free delivery over £15. The interior looked clean and cosy.

Dropped in for a takeaway last night and wow what a treat we had, lamb vindaloo and Chicken and mushroom Dhansak mopped up with a plain naan bread each which was probably one of the best naans I’ve ever had. Great service and well priced. See you again very soon.

Food was fantastic, service was good.

This was our first experience of Spicy Poppadom, recommended by a friend, we were not disappointed. We ordered and paid via the ‘Eat Out’ app, this was very easy. We arrived to pick up at the exact time, our order was handed to me within a few minutes. We found the food to be absolutely delicious and will most certainly be ordering again. Highly recommended.

Food wasn't ready at collection time given by the restaurant. When I arrived home the order was incomplete. Phoned the restaurant and they had no way to refund the missing item. Suggested I went in for a cash refund or free item next time I order. As I was on holiday in the area there wasn't a chance to go back in so never received the refund. TBH the food was only a 5/10 score so wouldn't go back anyway.

The food was so nice. Served nice and hot. Staff are so pleasant and friendly and the resteraunt is spotless. An amazing place. I'd highly recommend a visit. Prices are good too. Service is excellent. We will definitely be coming back.

Great Restaurant, Staff are very accommodating. Interesting variety of dishes cooked to perfection, would highly recommend. Kept the kitchen open after hours for my friends birthday on a sunday, cant thank you enough! Bring a bottle ;)

Over the years I’ve been fortunate to have visited some great restaurants around the world Im always looking for the WOW factor. Who would have thought the Spicy Papadum in little old caister would deliver. Tucked away in a side street. Small clean and friendly service Sensational Indian food at affordable prices. Super fresh nan and papadums and tasty well spiced curries. BYO alcohol which always helps control the price and they deliver! Best curry shop I have visited in years. If you are visiting Caister this gem is a must on your wish list. Will be back very soon and often.

5 of us went last night having never been before. Was very impressed. Nice and friendly staff and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. Food was excellent, we all ordered different mains and we were all very happy with our choices. Price is excellent too and you can take your own alcohol as they don’t sell it. We will definitely be back in the caravan season - March to November ❤️👍

The first dish is a keema vinaldoo. The dish was not spicy in the slightest and had a deep red colour which I have never seen before in vindaloo. As a keen BIR home cook the base gravy in the result dish was too watery and flavourless. It seemed like none of the base had caramelised at all. Maybe my dish was confused and they made me a keema masala 🤷🏻‍♂️. Shame because of the good reviews. The bhajis and garlic naan was excellent though. Afraid it's enough to put me off when we next visit Caister

Discusting avoid, terrible service the place has really done down hill, food took forever and by the time it had come no one wanted it 2 hours for main from when we had the starter we were the only people in the restaurant. Avoid if you like cheap shop bought processed food that was suppose to be fresh 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very intimate, probably only 6 tables, so best to book. Excellent value, great service and really tasty food. Soft drinks are available to buy but if you want wine/beers you can bring your own.

The food was just divine! The naan bread was cooked fresh and to perfection. The chicken was tender and super tasty. Service was slow but you could see Imran, at front of house, was faced with a very busy night for a Tuesday and we really didn't mind. We're on holiday but when we return next year, we will most definitely return to this little gem. If you like good food then you must visit.

Ordered twice for delivery from here now and both times food has been nearly cold, the chips and onion bhaji hard and inedible. Thought it may be a one off so tried again but obviously not.

Greatest curry ever especially the darjeeling

My daughter and I placed an order through just eat as a guest for a meal for my birthday .We ordered at about 6.45 pm and they advised an hour for delivering our order at 8.15 pm my daughter received a call from a delivery man who was shouting at her down the phone and said she would have to go and meet him as he couldn't find us to deliver despite my daughter adding clear instructions of through the green gates and go left and property number. When she walked to meet him he was not there she had to wait for him when he arrived he continued shouting at her and said we had given him the wrong address he was very loud and angry and said he had been driving around for a long time, by the time my daughter walked back to our place it was now 8.30 we had waited for nearly 2 hours and it was nearly an hour late.When we opened the food it was very cold, the bhajis were burnt and dry the popodoms were limp and chewy the nans were chewy and cold along with the rest of the order. We tried to call them about 12 times with no answer or engaged eventually when they answered I told the man what had happened he didn't offer to replace or rectify the problem so I told him as we could not wait another two hours and our food was so awful we could not just re heat it along with my daughter being abused I'd like my money back all of a sudden he became difficult to understand and all of a sudden claimed he could not hear when I said I'd leave feed back he agreed to refund the money immediately he even said he was pressing the button then .Tonight we called again to ask where our refund was only to be told another story and hung up on.

we had a takeaway which was a chicken bhuna, chicken korma, poppadoms, garlic naan and boiled rice , everything was delicious, generous portions and good friendly service, food was ready to collect at the time we arranged to collect and we enjoyed every last bit!

This is the longest Indian meal I have ever had! The service was appalling - it took an hour and a half to be served the main courses during which time there were numerous home deliveries being made!We had chosen the restaurant because of trip advisor recommendations but should have taken more notice of the comments about long waits.Do not visit if you want to eat within a reasonable time scale in a pleasant atmosphere.The waiters were surly and unhelpful, only one smiled during our time there and ,to be honest, we felt like we were being a nuisance for wanting to eat.Very disappointing. It even took ages to pay!The food was fine but we had gone past the stage of enjoying it by the time the meal arrived.

I ordered a takeaway here midweek for 3 people and I can honestly say that the food was very below par. I ordered a pathia and it was honestly full of water, my rice was swimming in the water it was that bad. Almost as if it had been frozen, defrosted and then cooked. I have no idea how so much water can exist in a pathia? I dont know how a chef could honestly put that in a container and sell it??? The keena naan had hardly any meat in it, It was just a coupe of small spoonfulls and that was it. I struggled to find it, it was all chewy bread and hardly any meat. I have ordered many indian takeways over the last 20 years and this place is the worst Ive tried! Honestly Ive had much better microwave Indian stlye meals! Sorry guys but you really let your customer down here!

Ordered a takeaway which took 1 1/2 hours to come! Meals were Delicious. Delivery man was really good and polite. Will certainly have another one soon. Highly recommend but make sure you order in time. Worth the wait..

Ordered from here during our family holiday due to a general lack of takeaway options local to Caister-on-Sea and was incredibly surprised! Food took a while to arrive but once it did it was piping hot, tasty and delicious!

Currently staying at Haven, Caister-on-Sea and visited Spicy Popadom for dinner, about a 20 min walk into the village.Don't be put off by negative reviews as we honestly couldn't fault the food.We had popodoms to startOnion bhaji & Rashmee Kebab for starters.Chicken Tikka Pathia, Chicken Korma, Sizzling Lamb Tikka & Chicken Tikka Byriani for mains - all amazing!Peshawari & Garlic NaanBill was £55 for 4 of us........bonus you can take your own beer/wine but soft drinks have to be purchased in the restaurant.Very pleasant/welcoming staff

The best garlic chilli chicken in the east.

Small bit perfectly formed little restaurant went here on a recommendation and I have to say it was stunning. Reasonably priced meal was hot fresh and very tasty. Only has six tables so you need to book it. Would recommend this little Gem of a place. Five stars from me and my friend.

First time visiting really enjoyed it till the next time

We pre ordered our food. When it arrived it was cold. The onion bajis were dried up as if they had been held in a heater for a long time. The curries had hardly any chicken and were tasteless. I had to microwave them before I could eat them. The only nice thing were the poppadoms and nann bread.

Ordered from here whilst on a caravan holiday. We ordered mixed kebab starter, chicken tikka massala, lamb tikka karahi, bhindi curry, chapatis, pilau, egg pilau, poppadoms for an eye watering £53. I am English, my wife and my wife's friend that were staying with me are Indian. We asked for it to be made Indian/Apna/Desi style. I didn't expect it to be truly authentic but I did expect it to be atleast slightly tasty take away style food. But it came flavourless, filled out with onions and not much meat. Hardly any salt or spice, watery sauce. Just an insult to give us it really. Try somewhere else, trust us. I don't understand how they achieve such high reviews. Ready meals are far better than this.

Not great, average at best. It was warm and delivered on time which was nice. If they were operating in Bedfordshire or Midlands they wouldnt last 5 minutes. Not much competition round her by the look of things.

I only gave one star because I didn't have the option to select less. Food due between 9.10pm and 9.30pm, called at 9.55pm was told food was ready and waiting for delivery driver to collect and several calls promising its was on its way at 10.45pm we got annoyed so told them to stop lying to us so they hung up on us. Now won't answer our calls. £57 later and no food. Disgusting service. DO NOT ORDER DISPITE WHAT OTHER REVIEWS SAY.

Do not order from this place still waiting for food and its over an hour late. Constantly lied to by the restaurant about arrival time every time I ring. Absolutely disgusting.

I have had takeaway food 3 times at Spicy Papadum, each time the food has been very nice and we all enjoyed our food, especially the Onion Bhajis which are the best we have ever had. The portions are really good and the price very reasonable. I highly recommend and look forward to coming back again soon.
