Bangla Nites in Great Yarmouth

What a bloody disappointment this place was. I have never had an Indian in a restaurant that tasted so unbelievably bland and tasteless. Maybe the chef was having an off night, or maybe he or she just can’t cook an Indian. When the food came out all of our food looking like it had been cooked in sauce from a jar, and tasted no different. Chicken was dry and in small pieces. I had heard good things about this place, maybe they were having me on and having a giggle. Waiters grunted at us and I would normally complain about the portion size, but I would not have wanted more of the slop we had. Very disappointed and a waste of money. I shall stick to the Lowestoft Tandoori who know how to cook a proper curry.

The waiting staff are a bit too keen. Don't seem to realise you may wish to spend a bit of time chatting before ordering.

I have been coming here for years and thought I’d finally leave a review. This has to be the best Indian I’ve been to, the service is always superb, atmosphere is excellent and the food is delicious. They offer a big, varied menu with dishes that suit all people. It’s located in Gorleston High Street with parking close by. I also order to deliver to home, always in good time and still very hot. Highly recommend!

The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. The service was outstanding, and the cozy ambiance made our experience even better. We will definitely return for another fantastic meal!

Great food, best Indian around

This is the worst food we ever had. This is no way Indian food tastes. I mean we've had rubbish food B4, but this one tops it all. We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb tikka and garlic rice. All the dishes were so so sweet even my kids who don't eat spicy food could not eat it. My 4 year old daughter said Mummy this food is rubbish n not tasty at all. Please don't put Indian Restaurant on your promos, it's nowhere close to Indian food. We've been to India and have had Indian food. Rubbish, Rubbish, Rubbish food you serve. Even your mint chutney is full of sugar.

Absolutely the best place to eat or takeaway, food is second to none, service is impeccable and the staff are amazing, you'd be a fool not to go here. YUMMY 😋

Worst take away Indian I have ever had, the korma sauce was almost water, the chicken in the korma was red on the inside instead of white like it was a tandoori. My girlfriends chicken tikka was so sweet that she didnt eat any of it, now I have to make more food because these luneys cant cook. Used to be a very good place but now it is rubbish at best.

Here on holiday from north Wales and was recommended to try Bangla Nites and what a fined. The staff were fantastic and made you feel welcome from the off. Food was great and so was the service. They even got us a taxi when we left. Thanks to all of you it was great

Ordered a takeaway from here while staying at a nearby holiday park. Was a bit pricey but food was tasty and piping hot. Not sure why they will not deliver to the caravan like other takeaways do but it wasn't a big deal to meet them at Reception. Driver did try the "I do not have any change" routine but did eventually find some in his car. Will order from again when back in the area.

Went Thursday night on recommendation wow service and staff were superb food was lovely mahmoud (sorry if I misspelled) was not only very helpful and on point he was funny and made our evening only complaint I could have was that I couldn't finish all the lovely food lol prices were good and would highly recommend anyone to try thanks guy's had a lovely evening Paul and Denise

Soft nan, rich and flavoured curries

Unbelievable food and service! Celebrating an England Euros win and friend’s birthday at Bangla. Food and staff were excellent, so good we had to get the chef out for a picture! Even sorted us out with a tray of complimentary shots for our friend’s birthday! Easily the best place for a curry around, cheers guys!

I ordered the chef special lamb shashlik, which was more onion than lamb. The lamb I did manage to find a few pieces which tasted and looked more like sliced pork and beef. Although the assured me us was halal lamb I have my doubts. We were surrounded by particularly obnoxious individuals who were loud and obscene. All in not Great

As a Bangladeshi this restaurant is best in near beach. Food test and quality up to the mark. Anyone can try without any doubt.

While in holiday in Gorleston on Sea, we decided to visit this place for a meal. We were welcomed on arrival and although we didn’t book, we just turned up and the staff were happy to split a table for 6 to allow us to dine in. We were given the menus and ordered drinks ( Glass of Hause Red Wine ) straight away while we decided what to have to eat. We ordered 2 Tandoori Chicken starters, 1 Chicken Tikka Balti, 1 Lamb Tikka Madras, 1 Pilau Rice, I Boiled rice and 1 plain Naan. The starters arrived very quickly and were delicious - the staff cleared the empty plates away once we had finished and it wasn’t long before our main meals arrived. The meals were so nice we cleared the plates and there was a lot to get through, that we couldn’t order pudding as we were so full. The bill came to £44.50 and I asked them to round it up to £50 to include a tip - this was well worth it. The main waiter that dealt with us was Adan - very nice man. I would definitely recommend this place and would go back if we are ever over this way again.

Love everything about this place!

Another fantastic meal and service. We have ate in several Indian restaurants in the area and this still our favourite. Staff are very friendly, food is so tasty and great ambiance.

We had a takeaway, ordered at 5.19 pm told it would be ready in 30 mins, my husband collected order and we sat down to eat at 5.50pm so less than 30 min total, unfortunately although it tasted good the food was cold.

Proper old school curry house. Great food, buzzing atmosphere, hot towels and attentive staff. A must visit if coming to Great Yarmouth!

Okay Indian, worth the money. Food was quite good, service better. Decor let it down, plus the constant thud of the service shutting was quite irritating. Overall, 6/10, would go again.

Ordered a takeaway, chips awful, prawns rubbery and poppadoms were missing. Avoid on a Saturday night they are too busy and really not their best food or service.

Overwhelming and uncomfortable conversations from server. When 4 female friends are just trying to have a nice meal out, stayed too long at our table and made one of our group very very uncomfortable, so much so she changed seats to avoid him!

I was looking forward to the Chicken Malabar, which was not bad, but it seemed chef had used slightly more oil than previously. Service was not bad, but the restaurant was quite busy, so less attentive than usual.

The service was awful waited one hour 15mins for food some was cold the side dishes came out when we had nearly finished our good followed by the breads we had nearly finished our dinner needs to really look at the service and good times

We ordered byriani which is supposed to be mild as i am unable to have spice due to medication. I took 1 spoonfull and my mouth was on fire ( that was the biryani not the curry). I rang up to complain, i was asked why had i put the food on a plate? Rice not spicy, so why is it yellow and my husband said it was very spicy. VERY ANGRY WILL NEVER RETURN GOOD LUCK TO WHO DOES

Takeaway - food turned up cold, no flavour & extremely poor portions, the chicken poore did not even fill the bottom of the small foil tray & chicken dansak was half oil and with about 3 bits of chicken in it. I gave this restaurant another go after not using it for a while due to the awfully long wait times and food turning up cold, it’s safe to say it hasn’t changed …if anything it has got worse! You shouldn’t have to microwave your takeaway when it arrives.

Welcoming friendly staff, seated quickly and service was great on a busy evening. Waiter took the time to help my wife and explain heat/flavour of the dishes to ensure she'd get a meal she'd enjoy. Our meals and all the sides were fantastic, loads of flavour and good portion sizes at reasonable prices. Looking forward to our next visit.

Tried Bangla Nites for the first time tonight... it will definitely not be the last!! Fantastic flavours, really well spiced, authentic taste of how a proper curry house should be. Bangla Nites is now my default takeaway!

Turned up out of the blue with six friends. Staff did not bat an eye. Very polite and helpful, service was top notch. All of us were very happy with the food which arrived before we had finished the poppadoms. The overall atmosphere is very calming and pleasant. Prices were very good too. Really cannot fault a single aspect of the experience. Recommended to all.

Fab night spent at Bangla Nites for a 50th Birthday with friends. The staff were very welcoming, agreed for us to go in early to decorate the table ready for the evening. Food was lovely and good value

My first time using this restaurant, the service appeared to be good and the meals came out quickly (although it was a Sunday and wasn’t very busy so I guess you would somewhat expect that). My partner had a chicken Malayan which he very much enjoyed & I had the King Prawn Jalfrezi. We had a great date night until I was woken by extreme nausea at 4am and was completely throwing my guts up. Safe to say I spent the remainder of the night / morning with my head over a toilet on the bathroom floor and had to call in sick to work the next day. It’s the first time I’ve ever been met with food poisoning and based on the sickness I’ve been given, and the fact I have now been put off two of my favourite things - Jalfrezi and Prawns.. I will certainly not be coming back to this place.

Friendly helpful staff with great food

Been many times. We are always looked after so well. The food is consistently good and the service is wonderful. Took my parents and every waiter stood to see us out, shaking our hands and checking we enjoyed ourselves. Legends.

Orderd a take away while staying in the local haven hopton, delivery was on time and driver phoned when outside the quality of the curry was very good perfect temperature and just the right amount of spice great portion size well worth the money the only negative was the nan was slightly over cooked

This is not an easy review. The food tastes lovely but why oh why does everything have to be drowned with food colouring which makes every dish look the same- bright lobster red! Im not a fan of this and the visual aspect of food is so important for complete enjoyment. It tasted really good but i wish they would take a bit of notice to its presentation

So looking forward to a local Indian with good reviews however whist some of the food rice popadoms and korma was great the Lamb Madras was enedible it was soo hot hotter than a vindaloo or a phall. The restaurant was unapologetic and said it is a hot curry ridiculous I am not a curry novice at 58 years old

Had a takeaway from here on sunday night whilst stopping at the local haven site for the weekend. On arrival the aroma was great. They are very welcoming and attentive. 1 of the tastiest indian takeaways I have had for quite a while and large servings......if I'm in the area again this will definitely be my first port of call for food.

Small Restaurant. Food was good. You may need to remind waiter a few times when you order more drinks or ask for desert menu. Also when clearing plates etc, one waiter just stood and pointed at things he wanted to pick up. No polite request, just pointed and waited.

I am on holiday and read the reviews on this place I’m married to a Asian man who is a amazing cook so very fussy.the staff were very polite and went out of their way to accommodate me as my dish was not on the menu food was absolutely amazing and apna style which is what I asked for will definitely order when I visit my sister again. 😀
