The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Had a “date night” about a week ago. Beautiful food as always and the atmosphere is brilliant. Service was instant even though it was packed! I would recommend to anyone

Once again fantastic food, great service, one of the best Indian we have been to. Sarg, one of the owners, one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Always pay them a visit every time in Exmouth 😁

The food was absolutely fine. Lovely decor, nice people. However, very disappointed with being prompted to pay a service charge at the bar. A living wage is paid by law, tips are optional and putting people on the spot, in a public space is not acceptable. Especially when they have already left their tip on their table. We paid a further £7 on top of the bill as well as the tip we left, out of embarrassment. For that reason, and that reason alone, we will not return.

December 2024 update - please to say the quality and value for money are still as good as ever. Have not eaten in, but certainly recommend for home delivery, food is top notch! Home delivery review. Food turned up wonderfully presented and hot. A couple of free poppadoms included, which is always appreciated! All very tasty and will certainly use again.

Excellent experience at this Very Good, Indian Restaurant. We had a takeaway and it was plentiful and piping hot. 10/10

In regards to the lamb curry, no complaints re the taste! However I've ordered many times and each time the portion is getting smaller and smaller last time I counted 4 small cubes of lamb! It wouldn't fill a toddler up! Come on folks for the price I'm paying you can do a lot better? Or maybe a case of shrinkflation. I believe in supporting local businesses, but you're testing me here. It's a shame because the food tastes awesome.

Tamarind is such a fabulous restaurant, the food is always delicious, perfectly cooked - fresh and packed with flavour. Making it even better is the wonderful team that and beautiful interior. It always feels like a treat and in my opinion a step up on the alternatives. Thank you x

Really enjoyed the welcoming and lively atmosphere at the Ganges as soon as I came in. This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. Loved the lamb and chicken curry, as well as the tarka daal and aloo saag, everything was great and affordable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming again with friends and family!

Tried the biryani and it was great for its price. Serving was quick also.
