The Windsor Tiffin in Hinckley and Bosworth

I tell you what. In all of my 52 years of living I have never experienced such incredible table service. My friend Charlie accidentally ordered the wrong drink and the waiters mind read him and changed it. Truly incredible. I am in shook. Up the tiffin

Food is consistently great. Dine in is quite expensive but takeaway is dirt cheap for what you're getting. They seem to struggle to make anything actually spicy though, or maybe I'm immune to spice at this point lol

Went as part of a large group. Very attentive, good service, food came out piping hot, very tasty.

Ordered a takeaway and paid for it over the phone to then have the driver call me to tell me he couldn’t find my house which is a common issue where I live. But rather than let me direct him, he just started shouting at me like it was my fault and threatened to take the food back to Hinckley. Really awful experience - unfortunately the food was also really poor so that didn’t even make up for it.

Nice food but extremely expensive: For a curry, rice (extremely small for the price) and nan you're looking at 30 quid or more per person. The staff were nice but felt a bit aggressive/pushy. The curry was nice with good sized pieces of meat but it's not much of an ask when you're paid double the price of most Indians.

Very busy, hadn't booked but got a table. Food and service was very good.

Portions tiny for price. Rip off. BE AWARE 2for1. Not what you think take cheapest meal off. A very expensive night by all. WONT BE GOING BACK

Absolutely loved our meal here. The managers special is a great deal, food was amazing, staff were lovely and when we are back in the area we will revisit 😊

Can’t fault this curry house perfect, parking is a little tight in rear carpark , park outside if there is space

If I am ever asked for a place to go for an Indian Meal, I would straight away suggest the Windsor Tiffin. The place has been going for as long as I can remember and I have never had a bad meal in there. The staff are lovely and the food always good. Certainly a place to try if you fancy a good curry 👍

A nice Indian restaurant with a good selection of meals.

We go here regularly and our daughter chose it for her 18th Birthday celebration. As allways food was delicous and the service great and everyone is so friendly. Lucky to have it nearby.

Visited here for a family celebration. Great food for everyone, very extensive menu, was a bit oily for me but used to our local who cook with very little. Meals were tasty and will be back.

Night out with friends 10 of us in total. Sat upstairs, good service and food. Clean pleasant surroundings and atmosphere. Have eaten here many times and definitely will again in the future.

Takeaway. The best curry ever. Just beautiful

I am currently lying in my hospital bed after eating contaminated chicken which was served in a takeaway. I have been violently ill since early hours of Sat 13th May. Beware Windsor Tiffin i will be coming for you oh yes you will be in the press too but unfortunately not for the right reasons.!!!!

Food was very bland, service was slow, wasn’t even a busy night. Glad this isn’t my local. Waiters didn’t seem interested at all

Lovely Indian restaurant, nice staff and service was nice and quick. Foods definitely nice especially the Garlic Naan Bread. Would definitely coming back and I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to have an Indian dinner.👍

Excellent food and refreshing drinks, chicken Jalfrezi was very nice, all food was piping hot and some dishes were bought out on sizzling hot plates. I think Monday and Tuesday nights are buy 1 get 1 free. Will definitely be returning.😀

A group of seven adults and a 2 yr old visited on 13th Aug 2022 for an evening dinner. We were most impressed with a warm welcome and waiter sat us down politely in a suitable place. We were not rushed at all at any stage and were made most comfortable. Ordering food was very simple and the waiter guided us very well especially with a young baby in group. All the food arrived at the same time as requested correctly spiced and in abundance. Our group was vegetarian and ordered a range of dishes they were perfect.I had a vegetarian thali which was excellent. From booking a table to enjoying our evening out to leaving the restaurant after a nice meal was flawless..I live in London but when I visit the area again I will definitely make a point of visiting restaurant again.

Used to live just round the corner from this place and haven't eaten there in over 5 years. Awesome meal with greats service, hasn't changed a bit!

Lovely food and fast service however the friendliness of the staff let our visit down. When we booked a table over the phone the gentleman came across quite blunt. We gave the restaurant a tip as we thought the food was great and believed it was worth adding a small tip to show our appreciation of this. None of the staff really wanted to build rapport with us and when we tipped, we didn’t even get a thank you. When we left we waved bye to the staff and they didn’t even acknowledge us. It seemed that the restaurant was more bothered about making money and getting people in and out quickly rather than the overall experience for customers.

We have dined in and ordered online both were great experiences. The service is fantastic and the food is brilliant.

Best curry house in hinckley and burbage highly recommended

Just had my first and owww baby. Not only was it delicious the portion sizes were huge. Plenty of meat and all kinds of tasty goodness. Definitely recommend.

This is my second time coming but the food and service is amazing! The first time I had a really spicy curry and this time I had a tikka masala and it was amazing!! Great service, great food, Just amazing!

Really friendly helpful service with a smile, and the takeaway was really tasty too. Good wholesome wholemeal roti with curry was yummy.

Me and my wife first time visiting our local Indian. Loved the decor.... obsessed with that bubble wall and lighting. Drinks were standard as you'd expect. ( expected prices ) Food was of high quality. Taste , textures, hot and came in a timely manner. ( priced as expected) Very polite and hospitable staff too. 100% will return. Cheers guys.

One of the waiters was a bit grumpy the other one was lovely. I would describe the food as average, lacking taste and overcooked chicken.

Visited with family for a birthday celebration. One a vegetarian, one a fussy eater and one with mobility issues. The welcome was warm and genuiine. The covid aware restraunt and clean they sanitised everywhere a table was occupied and could be touched table, chair, sills the lot. The food and drinks were excellent and varied. They were very understanding and patient with the fussy eater who, like us all, was very happy with the meal and service. . Although the main toilets are upstairs the disabled was downstairs - the staff redirected the guest with mobility issues there without asking. Parking available at the rear through an archway on left of business although a bit tight for larger vehicles, eg 4 x 4 but on street parking available nearby. First visit and will not be the last.

Food was great but place was packed changed my reservation to takeaway

Expensive for what you got, dated decor and old worn out cutlery, the staff were quite unpleasant a couldn't be bothered attitude I had prawns or that is what I ordered £12.95 the prawns were mangled and didn't look Ike prawns and as chewy as chewing gum. Not an enjoyable experience and £105.00 later we won't be returning. Very disappointed.

We decided to order a takeaway from here as we haven't tried this place previously. It took about 30 minutes for the food to be delivered. For the starter i had the chicken tikka chat, and we had some poppadoms with the dips. I had the chicken tikka masala, coconut rice and keema cheese naan for the main. The poppadoms were ok, the dips were ok but not the best ones i have had. The chicken tikka chat was good but not the best, might have been better in the restaurant. The chicken tikka masala and coconut rice was good along with the keema cheese naan i would recommend them. As for my partners food it was a complete let down and ended up cooking there own meal as what was ordered couldn't be eaten. The prawns in the starter weren't what was expected but the rest of the starter was ok. As for the main it wasn't what was ordered, expected or have had at other establishments for the exact same meal. It was poor and wouldn't recommend. A ready meal would have been better quality and more accurate to the food description. Overall the food seemed ok for certain dishes others should be avoided. The delivery was what was expected. I would recommended the chicken tikka chat, chicken tikka masala, coconut rice and keema cheese naan.

***** FIVE STARS hands down My girl and I just moved to Burbage a few weeks back and walked to The Windsor Triffin after having an evening coffee at Sycamore Pub. We are both very well travelled and “foreigners” ourselves so Indian Cuisine is not new to us. Therefore Our expectations are higher and we literally only just finished our Windsor Tiffin meal. I had to come onto Tripadvisor to explosively big up this absolute marvel of an Indians. The Staff, atmosphere, meeting a few Locals and tasting food I could only pray is served at my Wake are all of what made tonight really special. THANK YOU

Ate here before about 6 weeks ago. Service was awful, we got our starters before our drinks, in total waited 3 hours for starters, mains and drinks. Decided to give it another go this evening, wasn’t too busy when we arrived, seated and drinks rather quickly. Starters in a timely manner however the onion bhaji was awful, tasted hard and like it had barely been cooked, meat samosa wasn’t much better. Mains came and the chicken in my rogan josh was also dreadful, others said their chicken curry’s were poor too, chicken barely cooked, all meals including rice and naan was cold. Will certainly not be visiting anytime soon.

Poor restaurant and poor management, you book a table for 15 and get told you can’t order you meal when you get there, trying to make you sit on another table without your work colleagues. Rudest manager i have come across

Sorry. Vegetarian Korma under cooked. 1 waiter no mask and no explanation. Wished I had asked before, too late now. Makes you uncomfortable to ask or complain without disturbing the evening. All other Covid precautions fine. Service was fine.

We usually eat in the restaurant on a regular basis. However, during these difficult times, we’ve been ordering takeaways. Same excellent food, perfectly spiced and flavoured. I do miss popping to the Sycamores for a drink and then over to the Windsor Tiffin for a curry!

Have ordered from here for the past couple of weeks and been really impressed by the food compared to our usual Indian takeaway in Hinckley. The staff are polite and considerate- no issues with either the food or service. Thanks so much especially in these difficult times.

Went on a Tuesday night whilst in the area with colleagues, it was quite busy, may be down to two for one offer. The service was very slow, usual poppadoms were fresh and dips ok. Variety of Tandoori mixed stater, tikka, Onion bhaji we’re very average, lacking that fresh spice hit you get. Different main courses were severed in white ceramic dinner bowls, a first for me, they all looked similar in colour, the base gravy was so thick and way too much tomato paste, non descriptive flavour other than chill powder, everyone agreed very boring and disappointing curry, rice edible but small portionsWon’t be returning as there are others to try

Visited here yesterday with 6 friends for a birthday. Service was slow but we were patient. Food was slow to come out but we were all catching up with each other so not really a problem. Food came out and the order was correct. Now for the problem.. the attitude of the member of staff who took our payment was not acceptable. He was rude telling us that we couldn't split the bill how we wanted (some people drank alcohol others didn't so unfair to equally split the bill). We had already ensured that the whole bill would be covered with people rounding up to include a tip. He was demanding, rude and even shouted at one guest when he did not hear her reply. Safe to say we did not leave a tip. I asked to speak to a manager at the time - but unfortunately that was him! Hence me posting on here rather than resolving the issue on the night. I wish the staff well that work under him. They deserve a medal.

Went for a mid week meal with some friends. Serve was a little slow but we were patient. Starter of prawn puri was okay but nothing special. Then came the main, Chicken Pathia. Well what can I say, it was very poor indeed. Basically chicken in the thickest, plainest tomato purée you can imagine. More Italian than indian. So after asking my colleagues views, I reluctantly called over the staff to explain the situation. I was asked what I wanted to happen. I explained that it was their restaurant and they could sort it. 5 minutes later, they returned with the same dish, garnished with a sprinkling of coriander. Not impressed. I shan’t be going back.

Met up with friends here over the Christmas break for a meal. The food was nice but drinks service was slow. We must have waited nearly 10mins for drinks after being seated. Then on ordering additional drinks they took ages to come. I had to remind them of mine as I ordered another for my wife, and my friends never turned up. It didn't seem that busy either. There was plenty of empty tables. So I don't think that the staff were rushed off there feet.
