Ripley Curry Garden in Guildford

The menu is a little unusual as it doesn’t have the normal madras, korma etc. However our meal was fantastic. The duck curry was the star of the show. Staff were friendly and efficient and the prices reasonable. All in all highly recommend

Restaurant booked by a friend for his birthday meal. We have walked past a few times and it always seems popular. Very attentive staff. However food distinctly average. Over coloured and lacking in any depth of taste. The passanda was a few strips of chicken in an overly yellow very creamy sauce. Above average price and quite noisy with a strange lack of acoustics.

Called in on the off chance on a busy Thursday evening and to our delight, with a bit of reshuffling, they managed to fit us in. The waiter was very patient in explaining the menu to us and recommended the duck jalfrezi for me. (Other half stuck to a tandoori mixed grill) We ordered a couple of side dishes but that wasn't really neccessary as the portions of the mains were generous. The food was absolutely delicious and I can't remember when we we last had such a good Indian meal.

We were staying in Ripley for one night and after a little research decided to go here for dinner. So glad we did, it was very busy for a Wednesday evening which we took as a good sign. Food was superb,fair sized portions and very well presented. Staff were friendly and although it was so busy we did not feel rushed at all. We would recommend this restaurant.

Having had a take away previously I book a table for the good ladies birthday. Reasonable busy for mid week and with an excellent atmosphere we were both treated to an excellent meal. Top, silver service with very attentive friendly staff, this was a truly memorable experience, highly recommended.

I have to say I can’t see why people rave about this restaurant , I’ve had two bad experiences here and have to say I thought the food was awful . Cold , processed and not fresh . I wouldn’t return

I have never felt compelled to write a bad review, however in this case, I feel so strongly. We were so keen to visit the Curry Garden, after being recommended it. We have just had the most awful experience at Curry Garden. We had booked an 8pm sitting, as a treat for my birthday. We were staying in Surrey for a couple of days rest, following my husbands chemotherapy treatment. If you are looking for a relaxed, lovely meal, DO NOT GO HERE. There was an incredibly noisy table, that the staff did nothing to try to control. It was so loud (children screaming, men on phones, men shouting across to the table behind them) that my husband and I could not even hear each other, and we had sat beside each other rather than across. Now, while I understand that the way people behave in a restaurant os not the staff's fault, we were not offered an alternative table away from the noise. To add insult to injury, after 30 minutes, we just could not cope with the noise and we asked for our meal to be put into takeaway cartons, so we could leave. Any establishment that values its customers would have offered some level of apology. Be it a 10% reduction in the bill, taking the one glass of wine we had off the bill, ANYTHING just to show that they actually cared that our night had been cut short and ruined. Nope. We were charged £60 for the pleasure of having our dinner scraped into a takeaway carton and us leaving the place just 35 minutes of walking into it. This is what has upset me the most. The utter disscontempt for their customers. I have never, ever been so disappointed, and of course, the pub in the village that recommended them to us feels let down too. NEVER AGAIN!

I was told by a friend that I would get a good curry here....they were not wrong. A really fantastic meal and excellent value. A lovely welcoming team on arrival, smart and professional, they were very busy but we did not feel rushed. I opted for a duck jalfrazi with a cocnut rice, it was very tasty. The friends that I was with equally enjoyed their choices. We don't live locally but will visit again when in Ripley and highley recommend the Ripley Curry Garden.

Always amazing food and service at this fantastic little restaurant. All the tandoori dishes are fantastic and come out sizzling! Curry is 10/10 very authentic! All the staff are very friendly & welcoming. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Been before and was good but this visit was disappointing. Two ordered Butter chicken which looked an anemic pink. Too much cream and not enough vibrant tomato colour and no spice. On asking, waiter said this was the ‘English version’ 🤔🤔. My Goan fish curry lacked the typical sourness and spice. The mutter paneer side was bland and too creamy. Overall very disappointed with flavours - waiter said we ordered the wrong dishes 😦

What can I say other than the best curry I’ve ever had ! I have been a chef for over 16 years and in my time of cooking and eating out I haven’t ever had the pleasure of eating or tasting anything better friendly staff great all round service highly recommend

Once again the best Indian resturant locally worth a visit but book as very busy. Charming greating on arrival, great service and the food is wonderful. Once again a great meal experiance.

Fancied a curry, found Ripley Curry Garden, local for me, thought we would give them a try as never used them before. Phoned my order in, 35 minute preparation time, upon entering the business it struck me how busy the restaurant was for a Tuesday. Our order was ready on time, 15 minutes later we sat down to an excellent curry, cooked and prepared superbly. A most pleasant experience will use again and may well visit the restaurant and experience the silver service.

I visited the restaurant to purchase a takeaway. I have recently moved away from the West Midlands, the "curry capital of Britain ". The tastes and textures of the meat madras I bought from The Ripley Curry House was better than I have had in almost thirty years in the Midlands. Yes, after my time away I found it more expensive than I was used to, but the food quality and taste far exceeded the extra cost. I will be visiting again when I next visit the area. Please open another restaurant in Powys where I now live.

From the moment you walk in, the staff are attentive and friendly. Always busy and it's always worth giving them a ring and booking a table so you don't miss out. The quality of food is brilliant and the range of dishes is a good size. When our group went there once, we have ended up going back every month since. It's now a firm favorite.

We’ve been visiting here for a few years. The food top quality. The Waiting staff are friendly, smiling, caring. Shaking hands with people to welcome them in. The atmosphere is friendly and the lighting and decor is lovely & relaxing. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. How lucky you are if you live nearby. We look forward to visiting again when we are in the area.

After dining here I'm no longer a rich man, however I could pass through the eye of a needle. In fact I would say biblical would be the right term.

Go here for our Curry Club once or twice a year and always a fabulous experience (particularly when Paul Weller pops in for a takeaway) but this week their first poor showing. I ordered a slightly spicy curry with ginger but was served my mate’s Naga in error which was VERY hot. The owner guy said oh that would have a kick after I’d eaten a few mouthfuls but no apology whatsoever and not just a burning mouth (naga peppers are VERY hot) but I woke at 3am with a burning mouth after some reflux I guess and literally could not breathe!! A fairly nasty morning after too if you catch my drift

I’ve visited this establishment on many occasions, friends family and it’s always five star. This particular occasion my friend from Dartford joined me and we opted for duck dishes as these are rare amongst curry houses. The Duck cashew a unique dish I’ve never seen anywhere else. It’s quite simply one the best mains I’ve ever had from a curry house. My mate have never tried anything like it and he was of the same opinion. During our evening out we sampled a couple of the bottles red, which were a great accompaniment to our main and also great value. Would never hesitate to come back and will be soon

Have been with friends and family on several occasions. Love the fact the staff recognise you and are so friendly. The food here! It’s not your standard curry house. I’m a bore and often opt for a mixed grill which is exemplary. However, the duck cashew probs one the best curries I’ve tasted. Whoever I’ve been with has loved it! It’s maybe a tad more expensive than other curry houses but my god it’s worth it for the whole experience. 5/5 Should open another one

I've never got a biryani from anywhere and managed to finish it one go... today I ate a subway but then my mum wanted to try this Ripley Curry Garden so I ordered us a couple of biryanis... I planned to just eat a bit of mine and keep the rest in the fridge till tomorrow. It didn't go to plan. I finished all my lamb tikka biryani! Not being people that use takeaways normally, during lockdown we have gone to two Indian restaurants in East Horsley as the Ripley Curry Garden was closed. Checking back on the website regularly it was a delight to spot it had restarted take aways. That delight was matched when we ate it.There is no doubt at all that the food is superior to what we have had over the last 6 weeks and we not going back anywhere else now. Korma, Pasanda, Tikka, Madras, Bombay Aloo and Peshwari Naan all excellent. The chicken so much more flavoursome.They are taking the virus very seriously, ensuring the collection is able to be done without being close to anyone and they are offering a delivery service.When we can return to eating in the restaurant we will, but until then, our weeks will have the delight of a very good Indian in front of the TV.

We went for a second time, after a good previous experience, so we wanted to give it another go with our Son and his Wife.We got a nice seat by the Window and had a fantastic meal with a lovely bottle of Chianti.There are many facets that define your experience with the quality and presentation of the Food being high on your rating scale but other ingredients matter such as Service and Value are very important.On both of these Ripley Curry Garden scored very well with attentive and charming Service which made us all laugh!We will definitely return at some point!

This is a favourite venue of ours, establiushed for years and winners of numerous accolades for their service and food - and justfiably so.I booked 20 of us for my birthday and agreed to send in advance people's choices, easily done by sending a link to their online menu. Tables were really nicely decorated, they had put banners up too and a team of their staff took coats and welcomed us all.Thanks to the advance order, it really went so smoothly, everyone got their right dishes quickly, we ate together and not one dish was commented on as anything other than superb.Thanks to you all - loved it and recommend your great restaurant to anyone..

Everything about this restaurant is perfect. The service, food choices and ambience. We ordered monk fish tikka and duck curries which we have never had before and they were delicious.

We had heard good things before visiting this place. A lot of the time, when going somewhere with already high expectations, you can be left with a disappointed feeling. Not because you have received bad food, or had a bad experience, but because you were expecting to be blown away. I have to say, this place does not fall within that bracket. Everything from the moment we walked through the door was fantastic!

Visited the curry house on a Sunday lunchtime with my family of 10. One of which was vegan, another was gluten free and they were happy to accommodate our culinary needs.

First went here with friends in the summer after looking for a good Indian restaurant online. The staff are very friendly and welcoming which other reviewers have mentioned so that is not just a one off. We all had delicious food, so much so, that my wife and I revisited and our great experience was repeated. You really need to book tables here as the restaurant is constantly busy!

We’ve been coming here for a while because it is the best Indian in the Woking area, the food is very tasty, ambiance is great, the owners recognise regulars (ie just about everyone) and treat you as friends.

Ate here tonight (Wed 23 Oct 2019). We live 4 miles away so eaten here many times. It was very disappointing tonight. The chicken in the main course tasted very old... very hard to eat/bite.
