Tongham Curry House in Guildford

Really good fresh food. Informed the staff that my husband had allergies gluten and dairy This was catered for and we were informed as to what contained these ingredients.

We love our local Curry house. Often get with guests and they are always happy. Consistently had good food and good service. Nothing bad to say!

A wide selection of authentic dishes. Their Naga lamb was the perfect balance of heat and flavour - truly excellent. Well worth visiting and not far from Hog's Back Hotel if you'd like to walk there.

First time using this takeaway and we had a fantastic meal, delicious top rate food delivered fast and hot Highly recommend

The food tastes good. They are very consistent at getting delivery/collection orders wrong. I honestly can't remember the last time my order had everything correct and contained everything I'd paid for. 🤷‍♂️ Don't leave without checking your items.

been regular customer at have enjoyed your Pasawari naan on several occasions. However, I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent order, Firstly, I ordered the lamb chops, expecting a flavorful and satisfying dish. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with what I received. The portion had consist mostly of lamb fat, giving the appearance of a larger piece but lacking in actual meat content. Additionally, the marinade was overly salty, which detracted from the overall taste experience. I also tried the masala paneer, which had quite heavy in terms of food colorants. While I appreciate the effort to enhance the dish's appearance, it was more like korma and masala. this was my last order as its not worth the money

Staying in town for work for couple of nights. Ordered in some bits and got a delicious lamb patia, ready in twenty minutes from calling. Very good feed, great portion sizes, lasted me the next evening as well!! Will be coming back next time I'm in town. Thanks guys

Dreadful, avoid at all costs. By far THE worst curry ever tasted, bland, watery, awful. Staff are rude, unhelpful and severely lacking in customer service skills. Never again.

We love Tongham Curry House, they are reliable and on time with deliveries. I love being able to place an online order and can specify a desired time in the ‘other information’ section.

This is BY FAR the best curry in the area. We recently moved a 25 minute drive away and we still travel back for our favourite take away. It’s out of this world and I recommend it to everyone I know. If you like spicy, the Lamb Naga is a must!!

Having to change this review from 5 stars three years ago to 1 star. We were celebrating a birthday and we ordered a vegetable chilli masala which was for two vegans, one vegan started eating it and realised there was lamb in it. We rang to ask for it to be swapped, which was fine and they came quickly, however the guy that came then blamed me for not reading the box properly where it did say 'lamb chilli masala' in terrible handwriting (pic attached). I honestly didn't realise it said lamb as the lamb part is extremely hard to read and I assumed it was a vegetable chilli masala by just reading chilli masala as that is what we'd ordered. He then went on to angrily say that he found it hard to believe a vegetarian wouldn't realise it had lamb in it. I told him I didn't expect the order to be wrong and be lamb, which he then stated that the order was made correctly but just went to the wrong person. I would have been happy to just had the dish swapped but he decided he wanted to argue and push the blame onto us for their wrongly delivered item. Lucky this wasn't an allergy issue as could have been pretty serious! The new dish tasted good, but then had a hair in it (pic attached), I'm guessing this was accidental but could have been malicious by the standards of their customer service. The whole interaction was caught on our ring doorbell, it's lucky for them I can't post videos on here.

2nd time using Tongham curry house. 1st meal that I ordered was a prawn curry..Seriously it was like water as the should be thick sauce. 2nd time ordering, the guy was so rude..very abrupt indeed. He did tell me the wait time, once I placed my order, but was going to hang up on me..I had to say look I’m will pay for the meal by card. Eventually, he took my card number then hung up on me… The meal arrived ok, but the quality of the food was disgusting. The onion fritters were so hard that I could not eat them.. The sag aloo was really salty..I think it was from the potatoes…The pompadom was soft.. Worse meal ever & disgusting attitude by the chap who took my order. NEVER AGAIN. 🤬

Amazing Indian Takeaway right in the heart of Tongham.

Take away ordered evening of 12th August 2023. Very poor experience. The chicken tandoori was incredibly dry and inedible. Samosas and pakora soggy and tasted of just oil. Onion bhajis were completely over cooked and very tough. Lamb tikka was ok but cold when it arrived. I won’t be ordering from here again. If you’re reading this, proceed with caution and don’t make the same mistake as I did!!!

Good food but delivery drivers need some common sense. Knocking on my back garden gate wondering why we didn't come. Said he was going to go back to the shop

Since moving to the area we have had dinner from Tongham Curry House on numerous occasions and have enjoyed each one Friendly staff, quick service and good food at a reasonable price. What more can you ask for This is easily our go to Indian for a takeaway

Ordered for the first time, and the curries, rice and naans were perfection. We will be ordering again soon!

Usually we have a high standard of cooking and delivery from this Indian. Sadly tonight both main meals with far too much ghee, at least a 1cm covering on top of my prawn dhansak. The chicken in the chicken tikka jalfrazi was tough, and possibly reheated, certainly not cooked fresh. Such a disappointment as a takeaway is such a treat these days.

Ordered butter chicken, what I got was not butter chicken, it was chicken korma. Bhaji’s are dry and rock hard. Got a cheese naan and the cheese was literally burger cheese inside. Also ordered a TIKKA madras and it was definitely not tikka, just normal chicken, chewy too. Disappointed as the reviews looked good but won’t be ordering again 🤷🏼‍♀️

Very disappointed with the food I got. Food was not very warm onion bajis were very hard and the korma and tikka massala were really sweet Such a shame as ordered from here before and was nice

There simply are no words to how good the curries we had from this take away were! Absolutely fabulous! Tasty, rich and felt homemade! Quantity for the prices paid also very very good! The gentleman on the till, helped us choose 2 veggie curries without fuss! Very helpful. We will go back again and again and again!

Awful experience. The dish gave me food poisoning. There was a bone in a piece of chicken breast and the delivery time was terrible. Think twice before ordering

2 vegetable dhansaaks, two lemon pilau rice, one peshwari naan, delivered bang on the time I requested. All delicious. Piping hot.

Amazing food, best curry I have had in a while!

The worst curry we have ever had. Rock had onion bhajis, tough chicken and plain Bombay aloo. Really a poor show. Called to complain and offered free bhajis next time. No thank you. Manager said he had never received a complaint, it would appear online that others think other wise. Perhaps they should listen to constructive criticism, I tried to explain but they were not interested. Curzon in Ash is far better.

I wasn't sure how it would be after reading the reviews but the vegetable curry was crowded with varied veggies the tikki balti was tasty the keema rice was specially good the mint sauce and salad good.

First time trying food from here. The food was excellent tonight really happy with it there was sooo much food it was piping hot when it arrived I have no complaints!!!

Really good food. Not your normal after pub curry. Delivery of any takeaway is always hit and miss in my experience and I always go and pick up and it's always been ready at the time they say. I've eaten from here half a dozen times since it opened and not been disappointed. I understand others have different expectations and mine are high. I would definitely recommend

The best curry we have had in a long time! By far the best curry house around!!

This is the 8th time I have had a takeaway from Tongham. Whether collected or delivered by them it is reliably hot food which is appreciated. This time I ordered their lemon pilau rice. So delicious! It is zingy and light and really compliments the meat dishes. Will be returning again and again.

Ordered at 5.55pm and it's now 7.50, Spoke to shop to be told it's on its way. Spoke again with them 40 mins later and they became rude and abusive on phone. Will never use again!

Burnt naans, taste so sweet as if you are eating tandoori naan made from brioche dough. £2.50 for 1 naan is rip off compare to London standard indian takeaway. Spoiled our meal. Think twice before you order takeaway from here

how bad of this indian take away being supposably great service and great food yet very Aggressive at the fact that we complained over the chicken being very cold and The Onion bhajis not resembling onion bhaji but a fritter, to be then told that the so called manager is from LONDON DONT MESS WITH HIM AS HE KNOWS WHERE WE LIVE Lol our cctv and RING DOORBELL Recorded EVERYTHING

Best Indian takeaway we’ve had . Arrived within 20 mins on a Friday evening . Piping hot and very fresh and well cooked .

We have often ordered from here and the food in the past has been excellent. But lately it has not been good and the wait is always longer for delivery than they say, with poor customer service. Shame, we will look elsewhere in the future.

The food here was excellent, I could not find any fault with anything we ordered.... Not that I wanted too! The the order was hot when it arrived and didn't take too long to arrive either. The delivery driver was very friendly and was very polite about me only having 50p for a tip as we paid by card for the order. I now only order from shops that don't use just eat as you get a much better service. I am 100% sure I will order here again.

Stayed at a hotel near by and ordered from this place at the weekend, everything I ordered was to a high standard will defo come back to this place if im ever in the area again food arrived hot and was great 👍

Just like to say stopped having currys for a while from 2 places. As food never the same quality and taste. Tonight ordered from Tongham and it was lovely. Food hot- pathia plenty of sauce-all the chicken was tender in all currys and dansak sauce was lovely. Thankyou for finaly having a brilliant curry ☆☆☆☆

Tried for the first time. New favourite. Reasonably priced and tastes great.

Absolutely disgusting! Firstly it was half hour late . The king prawn tikka masalla only had 3 king prawns In it costing £11.50 just for the curry which tasted like there was about 10 heap spoons of sugar . It's the worst curry I've ever had . Your farnborough shop knocks spots off the tongham shop . Will never order from here again .

I ordered chicken chat purée main which when arrived they actually sent 2 starters, the chicken was rock hard and burnt, this was very upsetting as my husband had it a few weeks ago and it was delicious so why couldn’t they have served it how I ordered it and so that it was edible, they also charged me for two starters rather than a main which I requested, I have heard from several people that the food quality has gone down hill but thought I would give it a go still never again

We had a take away the food very good but the Keema Nan was not very nice and very little meat and did not taste very good plus the Papadum tasted like old fat But the rest of the meal was good

Have always enjoyed food from here, today ordered chicken tikka masala if you like syrup this is this dish for no flavour just sweet, no spices just sweet. And when I complained they said that was what chicken tikka masala is sweet, no it’s not but thanks.

Always excellent food . I had a friend visiting a little while ago she said it was the best curry she has ever had . So glad we have this curry house in the village

Always great food. We ordered online for collection, but then unfortunately my husband got caught in traffic so was unable to collect in time. I called them and asked if I could change to delivery instead. This was no problem for them and our food arrived hot and delicious as always 20 mins later. Great service Thank you!

Favourites again on Mothering Sunday evening. Delivered within an hour which was very good. Chicken Rezella, chicken shashlik, peshwari naan, pilau rice, saag aloo, cucumber raita. All delicious.

Just been to Tongham Curry house. Person taking orders completely ignored me in favour of taking telephone orders that came after my arrival in this place. Staff member did not care that I gave waited good15minutes before being served!!!!! And for someone who never seen me before to say ok Mate??i find disrespectful-big time. I am sorry for long wait due to my inconpetence would be nice but Not in this place!!!never again Tongham Curry House!!

Food is always delicious. My kids loved it and will always visit the Tongham curry house. Highly recommend for local people and visitors

I ordered food yesterday very first time but surprised that the foods was delicious. Our family enjoyed the foods. My daughter stated that dad can you order again. She likes their food so much. Best Curry we've found in months. All our local go to's from JustEat have been very poor during this 2nd/3rd lockdown. Especially loved the lamb Naga. Tender, flavoursome and spicy!

I've tried multiple places in the area and this is by FAR the best establishment! You will not be disappointed.

We've been using this takeaway since it opened and never had a bad meal. Their full tandoori chicken is beautiful. Always friendly and helpful (we wave through the window when I walk by now!). With this and the excellent Orient fish and chip shop next door but one, we are well served in Tongham.

We had chicken rezalla and chicken masala on New Years Eve. The chicken cubes were dry and tough and very disappointing as of batch processed. I can’t believe that the other reviews are so positive ?

Food is exceptionally tasty, one of the best places for a local curry. Staff are always so humble, polite and radiate a caring attitude to their business. So clean too! The waiting area was so tidy and I had no issues with waiting as they attended to me straight away. Would recommend!

Food very bland no spice wot so ever bombay potatoes were hard and no spice lamb madras very chewy will not order again from here and got 8 poppadoms 1 pot of mint sauce realy

We ordered a takeaway after reading reviews on the local facebook group. The food was absolutely delicious and one of the best currys we have had in a long time. We had a king prawn madras and a vegetable pathia with rice, bread and spinach plus 2 poppodoms. Seriously good food and also all under 30 quid so great value. We recommend this place and will be using it again!

Food turned up in time and the rice was really well cooked! Normal orders for the tikka and korma was nice! Jalfrazi that I ordered was horrid! If you want something decent to tast with spice don’t use this place!

Four of us had a curry from Tongham Curry House last night, credit where credit is due it was one of the nicest curries I have ever had and I've had few in my 50 years!! I had a lamb biryani and it was absolutely superb, please pass on our compliments to the chef!

Came across this curry house a couple of weeks ago whilst out on a walk with my wife.We both thought it looked good so took a menu from outside. Order a takeaway on the Friday night and needless to say it was lovely,normally use a takeaway in Aldershot but not any more

With most takeaways closed due to the virus, it was a welcome relief to have Tongham Curry House open. We used it via their website which was very straightforward. Came in reasonable time and the food was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend the onion bhaji, chicken Rogan Josh and chicken Tikka Balti. We will use them again for sure.

The food has been consistently excellent since we moved here 6 months ago. We always collect so I can't comment on deliveries, but the service is excellent and they're very friendly

Well I have dairy and coriander which I’m allergic too.... Get told on every order WE place about this. My son picked the order up for himself and me came to about £35 THE chicken madras when opened found it had “coriander” so I could not eat my order / dinner..... and they won’t make two garlic chapati (flour water garlic) and the chef refuses to make them for me as nann has yogurt in so I can’t have it..... I’m very ill when I eat dairy or coriander but they don’t seem to care they’ve got your money.....

certainly rate as the worst Indian eating experiences we have had, After 1.5 hours of making a call for a takeaway, we had a call saying they had run out of the the pecan nut ice cream. About 15 minutes later the order arrived: The chicken pakora _ tasteless chicken in soft batter, onion bargee absolutely horrible _ binned. The 3 curries masses of sauce, tasted like it contained more sugar than one would normally eat in a month, certainly not much of the tasteless chicken, if that lot wasn't bad enough the 'ice cream' came in tiny cone shaped pots with some strange tasting stuff in, certainly nothing like the Indian ice cream i had been used to eating. We are very annoyed and disappointed having spent a lot of money, could have got far far better at supermarket for a fraction of the cost, had to apologise to the family
