Great little Tandoori. Staff really nice and food was spot on.

Sadly despite previous good experiences on this occasion the food was appalling. The curry sauce was supposed to be medium strength but had barely any flavour and was composed mainly of grease. The pilau rice was also slimy with grease. Afraid will not be visiting again

Overpriced and small portions. I was part of a large group. Curry ordered was smaller and Naan bread was half the size of any other Indian restaurant I’ve been to. Maybe prices are acceptable for Guildford but the portion size should match!

So disappointed with meal today. Chicken tikka was tasteless and lamb dry and bland. Tandoori chicken was overcooked and chewy. Totally lacked flavour. Overpriced and when concerns raised staff weren't interested. No attempt at all

This is a fantastic restaurant: the food is delicious, the service excellent and the setting is welcoming. We enjoyed it so much we returned for a repeat experience.

Wednesday night so don’t expect the best atmosphere and food was okay (good sauce/breads, rice), but the servings were small and lamb was tough as old boots. Also had to scratch a bit of old food off my plate which was a bit grim (kinda funny).

We dined here last sunday and had an incredibly disappointing experience. First, I found a hair in my biryani, which was utterly unappetizing and should never happen in a restaurant. But what made it worse was the staff’s reaction — or lack thereof. When I brought it to their attention, they acted as if it was no big deal, without a single apology or attempt to make things right. Their indifferent attitude made it seem as if this was something they deal with regularly, which is frankly disturbing. The food itself was just as disappointing. The curries were bland and tasteless, lacking any of the rich, authentic flavors you’d expect. Overall, a completely underwhelming experience from food quality to customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent meal or respectful service.

What a fantastic restaurant. As soon as we walked through the door we were warmly greeted and the service was faultless throughout. Quick and helpful and recommended different dishes for different tastes. The food was delicious and it was all quite reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend.

The most authentic Indian flavour you can get in Guildford. Great genuine friendly service, comfortable seating. The place is good enough for a special dining night-out yet it’s relaxed enough if you choose to go alone or with a company just to eat and leave. Kingfisher in draughts is a BIG plus. The Tandoori chicken, Lamb shank, Daal and Sizzling Paneer are some of the best dishes I’ve ever had. In fact, almost every dish I had there was good and comes with its authentic flavour. Overall, I can confidently say that this is The Best Restaurant In Guildford. They superbly score solid top-tier five stars.Period.

Went there for a curry on Monday and was very impressed. There was a great selection of food the servers offered to change the dishes based on how much spice we wanted. The service itself was great and welcoming. The food came out fairly quickly. Looking forward to going back and trying some more of their dishes

7pm Saturday night. Chicken Bhuna and Chicken Rogan Josh ordered. Both exactly the same! Same taste. Watery and bland. However a Rogan Josh has an extra tomato..apparently! The paratha had hit the microwave. The best part of the meal was the Argentine Malbec. That they couldn’t ruin! All in all this meal won first prize in the worst curry in Surrey competition.

Over the years, we have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and had takeaways but this will be the last time unfortunately. Yet again the takeaway meal was disappointing and I don’t think it would have been any different if we had eaten in the restaurant. We ordered the king prawn purée as a starter which was good but the pancake was really chewy. The chicken tikka masala was bland and the chicken pathia had a kick but the consistency of each dish was very runny. The standard has really dropped. We were all left disappointed and having spent over £50+ with sides, we won’t be back which is a shame as we feel it’s important to support local businesses.

We were a table of 9 celebrating 2 x 65th birthdays. From the moment we walked in after a most friendly welcome, the service was exemplary and we have never felt more looked after and cared for. The food was out of this world, super tasty, in fact the best I have ever tasted. Hats off to the chefs who are masters in the art of fantastic Indian cuisine. Thank you making our evening so special.

Very disappointed had to send food back Prawn butterfly was cremated and garlic mushrooms were out from a tin and cooked in garlic powder. And the service charge and £5 for a soft drink an expensive mistake .

Always great food and service whenever we go to Maloncho. A definite favourite and offers good value for money.

I have been coming to the Maloncho since it was very first set up nearly thirty years ago and, as this was my first trip back to Guildford in some years, after a few beers it was the obvious place to eat. My friend and I ate relatively early but even so by the time we left it was absolutely heaving and still doing a roaring trade in takeaways and deliveries. That such an long-standing restaurant can maintain such popularity locally is testament to its success. We didn't have starters but between us we ate papadums, chicken karahi, tandoori mixed grill, saag bhaji, brinjal bhaji and some chapati. Everything was excellently cooked and spiced, the service was uniformly excellent despite the fact that pretty much every table was full, and the bill (£65 including a couple of beers and service) astonishing reasonable. Here's to decades more of this.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, and the service was very friendly and the waiters did me a big favour in squeezing us in on a busy night with no reservation. However, the food was distinctly average with little to no flavour, and absolutely zero spiciness. Honestly there is more flavour in a ready meal from Tesco. Perhaps the restaurant has sought to cater too much to Brits complaining their curry is too spicy. Or perhaps given it was a busy night they forgot to add spices to the dishes (although this seems unlikely). A real shame as I wanted to like this place. Get some frozen meals from Mandira's kitchen down the road (excellent food) and stay home instead!

Great curry. I don’t visit Guildford very often, but this is the third time I’ve eaten in here (since about 2011). Five stars.

Definitely a level above your average Indian restaurant and so much better than one we visited previously just down the road. Thank you for a great meal.

I was exited to try this restaurant as I heard good things about it and having been to several cities in India multiple times paired with living in the SF Bay Area, I have had a very good representation of Indian food. THIS WAS NOT ON THE LEVEL. The food was just ohhhkkk… If you like bland food then this is likely for you. The service I experienced was also just ohhhkkkk. Go with low expectations and you will likely enjoy yourself.

Got our first takeaway from this place after several recommendations from friends. All the food was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and great value for money. Will definitely be going back.

Friendly, welcoming staff and good service. Food is always good here and great for takeaway too. Often a mix of large and small tables, including couples and service is always the same standard.

We recently ate at this restaurant. It lacks in taste and flavour and is not authentic Indian food. The base for most dishes appears Bangladeshi - however also lacked any flavour whatsoever. We didn't want to waste the food so had to add Indian spices to the dishes (we essentially remade the food for it to be edible). Save your money and your sanity, don't go here.

Have been several times to this restaurant and we took friends there last night who hadn’t been before. Very pleased to say that we yet again got great food, excellent friendly service and very reasonably priced.

We very much enjoyed our food it was better than many indians in the Godalming / Guildford area. I went with a friend. However the meal was ruined a bit by a very large table of blokes who were incredibly loud next to us. Wouldn’t recommend a Saturday night partly for this reason. Soon after they left another roudy table of men came in and sat next to us. Luckily they weren’t as loud.

Great tasting, freshly made food with proper ingredients. The lovely, friendly and talkative staff made us feel very welcome. I especially like that our son was offered anything on the menu cooked especially for him without chilli. Our third visit here as a family (plus loads of Deliveroos!) and will certainly be back. Make sure you try the ‘red sauce’ (known as ‘hot sauce’ on Deliveroo) with the poppadoms. It is mega hot but tastes amazing.

Maloncho is our go to for curry and cobra night, always the greatest service we go roughly twice a month and would never go anywhere else.

They have really great Indian food for Indians. You need to mention while ordering that you'd like the food to be prepared in Indian way and make it spicy without adding cream.

We wanted a meal before going to GLive to see Fascinating Aida. We were welcomed and made to feel very welcome. We both enjoyed our meal, I had lamb tikka dansac. We will come again when the opportunity presents itself. We were entertained by our waiter.
