Spice Of India in Guildford

Went on a Tuesday night for the banquet meal at £12.95. I would suggest booking on that night but as there were only 2 of us we were lucky to be a walk in. The food was pleasant and plentiful. They automatically bring out pots to take what you have not had home with you and a bag. Great that nothing is wasted or you are made to feel awkward asking to take it home. It is a small restaurant and I did find it noisy. They seem to cater well for larger groups. Let’s face it - where can you eat so well locally for that price. Yes there are a few things they could change but for the price I have no complaints. I would think a purpose built wheel chair would struggle to get through the doorway but NHS chairs would manage. It is very accessible for people other than that.

I ordered again after a previous positive experience. Tonight the Order took 1hr 40 minutes… arrived 20 minutes after they’d marked it as delivered and had obviously been sat in the bag for a while as it was tepid.

Great food as usual but let down by the onion bhajis. They have almost halved in size with no price reduction to reflect this. On this occasion they were also soggy and undercooked as all you could taste was the flour. Not to the usual standard.

This experience was perfect. Food was outstanding.

The restaurant did call to say it was running late which I really appreciated. Unfortunately it was a decent bit later than I originally thought as was told 10 or so mins and it was 40. The food itself is great tasting but it arrived cold and missing part of the order. I called to let them know as it’s not the end of the world but a thermal transport bag could have helped a lot. Missing item is being refunded so sad we have no samosas but I’ll get over it. Staff were so polite so I’ll be back.

Delivered early which was good as I was hungry. One item was not available and they called and offered an alternative. Excellent quality food as ever.

Another amazing meal tonight! Everything was hot, delicious and as great as ever! 10/10 every time I order! Thank you for always coming up trumps. Also, I’d just like to say, your delivery drivers are always lovely, courteous and read the instructions in the notes to not ring the door bell and wake up our sleeping child. They’re a credit to you. And that combined with the delicious food, you are my favourite takeaway! X

first restaurant choice when I opened the app. ordered via the app at 7.50pm. food arrived at 9.10pm. chicken was dry, naan was brunt and the whole meal wasn't hot, just luke warm! Will not be using this restaurant again.

Originally supposed to arrived around 19.55 but gor there at 2045...

The curry was perfect as always & tasted great. The 4 naan bread we ordered were ok on one side but completely black on the other side.

Piping hot, fresh, big portions, great prices! what's not to love? so much better then the one in tongham and the one by ash vale station 👌👌👌

It's always tasty, but tonight was simply superb! I think one of the best Indians in the area! Everything was so full of flavour. :-)

can't go wrong with the curries at spice of India. superb quality and great delivery service. highly recommend the Kosht Kala Masala, lamb is out of this world, like butter.

Ordered here today, got a chicken saag, butter chicken, bombay aloo, pilau rice and a keema naan. It’s my most local so decided to give it a chance but I wish I didn’t! The pros were the saag tasted decent, and free poppadoms came with the order. It also came early. However all the food was cold, which was bizarre as it was in foil containers. The butter chicken was the worst I’ve ever tasted, was nothing like a curry just a pale sauce with absolutely no flavour and was honestly just disgusting. The Bombay aloo was boring compared to most others I’ve had with a thin sauce, and the naan was stone-cold and all wet and floppy in the bag. I found a piece of tandoori chicken in my saag, all the other pieces were regular so maybe they are dumping old chicken in it as I have no idea how that could happen. Will never order here again and I’d not recommend this place to anyone.

10/10 again. Quick delivery and absolutely amazing food. I’ve been trying new dishes lately and everything I have tried is delicious and cooked to perfection. Thank you so much also for the extras you sent with our meal, such a lovely gesture and makes us feel so valued! Can’t wait for my next order. Best takeaway around! ♥️

1st time ive orfered from here.. very disappointed with the curry - no taste and no taste of tikka and curry was sweet.. prawn cocktail was so over covered with sauce couldn't taste the prawns.. don't think I'd order again..

Very disappointed with the quality/taste of the chicken and saag paneer. There were more potatoes in chicken gravy than chicken. Also spices/flavour weren't there at all. In saag paneer, paneer want fresh.

food time was changed. 30mins late and chips and rice was cold and other food just warm. phoned restaurant to say I was not happy. They said they wold sort something out but not heard heard anything from them.

The worst delivery order ever!! Chicken tikka masala and chicken korma both were so bland!! Worst chicken curries I have ever tried. I have tried these from so many restaurants nearby but this was the worst experience. I would not recommend this to anyone. We completely wasted our money

THE BEST INDIAN AROUND! The most gorgeous cooked food and tasted amazing. Food was lovely and hot when arrived the only thing that was a little cool was the nanbread but that was an easy fix in the microwave for 5 seconds. Would highly recommended to anyone!

Another amazing take away on Wednesday evening! Delivered quick and hot as always! The extra dips and naan were such a nice touch and tasted unbelievable. Will continue to use spice of India because the food and service is just 👌. Looking forward to our next meal, you never let us down and everything is consistently perfect.

Buttered chicken was amazing vindaloo did not blow your head off you could taste what it was made out of Wasn’t just pure heat so proper vindaloo in my experience only criticism is prawns could be a bit bigger amazing food

Unfortunately not a good one, no salad and mint sauce to go with my tandoori starter and main, small portions, lots of onion in my paneer, no tomato or peppers. Such a shame as 9 times out of 10 it is lovely. We order alot from this place so really, we should be looked after

Naan bread and curry was really bad

Food was lovely, it came earlier than expected as well which was a nice surprise. The drink was missing from the order however a quick call to restaurant and they had it delivered separately without any issues.

I have been ordering the same (Tandoori chicken Biryani) for more than 2 years now, at least once a week. Lately the food standard went down drastically, the food does not have the same aroma, I feel like some of the ingredients are not freshly made or reused, last order smelled sour, the food went bad before it got to my door, the rice was so overcooked that it was like paste. I am sorry to say but that was the last time when I ordered from Spice of India. On the plus side good delivery time.

Ordered from deliverooo chicken biryani and chana chat chick peas,food was terrible,i felt sorry for them beacuse i made them wait abit more around 5-7 min i was sorry for that but the food was horrible avoid avoid food from here.Raw taste of turmeric in biryani which made my taste horrible after a long hour shift from my work i decided to have dinner and chooosed this resturant but the biryani was worst birayani of my life.Few of my work mate aslo had food from here and they said me the same review of the food.So please try making food with passion and love not for the the benefit of profit.

Does not even deserve 1star i ordered chicken biryani from this resturant and the taste was awfull very awwfull,raw taste of turmeric in biryani,looks like chef was very careless.I didnt like it what i paid for is not worth it.As a biryani lover this is the worst biryani i have ever had.I would recommend not to eat or takeaway from this resturant is the worst.

Normally good food during week, weekends are not so good. Popadoms were shop bought and chips were stone cold, curry not up to usual standard either. Shame

The online system showed it was out for delivery at 20:20. We are less than a ten minute drive. I called up at 9:00pm to be told they couldn't get hold of driver however I could here them in the back ground and someone was told to do our order and low and behold it turned up 10 minutes after I called up. Wasn't hot but warm

Food was cold when it arrived and not do fresh! waited almost an hour for delivery to then be disappointed. I will not order here again.

Food was okay but nothing special. More importantly half the order was missing. We were told our order was in two bags and the driver only picked up one bag. Such a shame as this was for a special birthday dinner. Unfortunately, wouldn’t order again.
