Just tried to order a takeaway, card declined, got more then enough money in my bank as a business owner and the guy rudely wouldn’t try again. Laughing saying ‘ what do you want me to do if you haven’t got the money? It’ll get declined again’ Problem your end not mine. Very rude. Taking my business elsewhere tonight.

Friendly and great service, food was excellent. An enjoyable dinner for sure. I would say though the restaurant is big and modern with dance / chart music playing so if you want that more traditional / intimate / relaxing style it’s not the best choice.

Will not be ordering take away or visiting here ever again. Been loyal customers with my family since it first opened. Horrible experience tonight and cost me £117 . It was empty when we walked in at 8pm,staff looked irritated and annoyed. We were rushed through our meal ,plates taken away to soon by irritable waiter. We were aware that you shut at 22.00, got given bill at 21.30 without asking for it, asked for coffee got told no. Different waiter came over and said he would " allow us " coffee. It was a Birthday meal.Was only 3 of us and one other table. Strange lady at back of restaurant who's always there on laptop shouted " just go home"😡 Deeply disappointing and dreadful treatment/service. Will never return.

Food looked lovely and fresh , Was well presented however it had no flavour what so ever. Me and my partner had 2 completely different dishes however if you closed your eyes and tried them both, you couldn't tell the difference in flavour. Won't be a repeat customer here.

Such a poor curry. Had a chicken makhani and completely flavourless and very watery. Small pieces of chicken. Wouldn’t go back. Friends had lamb and very chewy.

We love this place. Highly recommend. The only negative is that sometimes they do not pay attention to allergens so I have had issues where I’ve been advised something is gluten free when in fact it isn’t..

Absolutely delicious takeout delivered very speedily this evening. Lovely business with wonderful ethics of giving back to the community & supporting local charity for disabled children which is why I started using them after seeing them doing this at woodstreet Jazz concert in the summer. Can't fault this place, down here for the night, work commitments and called in to dine, staff were very friendly and efficient, some of the best customer service I've received, not pushy or overwhelming, food was excellent I had poppadoms for Starters and the Balti Chicken Jalfrezi, well worth a visit if in the area..

One of the worst takeaways ever....its no way close to authentic Indian food and completely lack essence of Indian food I can honestly say that being an Indian and grown up eating authentic Indian food....

We both really enjoyed our food. Generous portions. Staff mainly attentive. Chicken nice. Rice great and a lovely spicy naan bread. Quite noisy as children in restaurant but will definitely return.

Their set meal for four has gone up 20% in price yet you only get two samosas and three small wraps posing as spicy kebab. Very disappointing and poor value for money.

I got the chicken biryani and chicken dupyaza and the chicken was terribly uncooked and the gravy tasted weird. I got terribly sick after eating the food!

I have been here twice, once with my partner and once with a group of 7 friends. Both experiences were good experiences. I had the Prawn Masala both times which was lovely.

A group of 16 curry club members attended The Shahin last Thursday. After booking two weeks ahead as normal, we were met with a friendly smile and a well set out table to accommodate us all together. It’s been a while since the club was last here, and it’s changed a lot; decor, menu, even its name! After being served drinks we chose from the adequate menu, noting a couple of dishes not seen elsewhere in the local area. The service was swift, although members noted the tables were small and once the meals were served, there was some clashing of elbows. One member had to wait some time for a main, it seemingly having been forgotten during the order, but that was rectified. In summary, a newly refurbished restaurant with a nice feel, good staff and tasty food at a reasonable price - it’s worth noting that this venue hasn’t put main meals up in the same way that some other restaurants have recently. It’s likely that we as a group and individual members will be back sooner rather than later - GW.

Food was okay but nothing special. Reasonably priced. Very slow to take our order despite being very quiet. We went there as it's close to the Holroyd pub where we were going to catch a gig. Would eat here again if in the area for a specific reason, but there are many better Indian restaurants if food is the reason for going out.

I ordered food delivery (£53.20) today i.e. 05- March-2022 for family dinner and regret the decision due to following reasons: 1. No receipt / confirmation on email post placing order - when called the reason mentioned by store is internet issue 2. After 50 minutes didn't receive order and called again - reason said by store is internet issue and no sorry. Post saying much promised to deliver in next 10 min and it arrived 3. When food arrived- the quality was worst --- Dal Tarka : no salt and no tarka --- Paneer Chilli Mosolla was too sweet When called later to mention the issues, the person passed the phone to owner and the owner's word to me was 'SO WHAT' in rude language as if he did a charity to me after taking the money. Pathetic service and language I have seen for the first time in UK so far by Shahin Tandoori, Guildford owner (on 01483506120). Request others not to buy from this store and waste their hard earned money. Food was ok. Staff watch you like hawks making you feel like you’ve got to rush. Barley sat down for 2 mins before each member of staff ask if you’re ready to order before you’ve even looked at the menu or taken your coat off.

I love coming down to The Shahin , the staff are so friendly and kind they all make you feel welcome and comfortable. But most importantly they are not rude to you they are all very polite no matter how busy they all are .

Have had a couple of takeaways this month, each one has been delivered within 40 minutes and has, as always, been delicious! The restaurant is good too, although sometimes a bit of a wait-but won’t stop us going or getting takeaway s!

It was a very quiet Monday evening but we we still served a great curry. Nice restaurant, very clean and the food was very tasty. The waiting staff were friendly and chatty. We were staying in the Travelodge literally 5 - 10 mins walk. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We found this place a little out of the centre, and after seeing on Trip adviser it was closed Mondays, but open on Google we took a risk. We found it further up the road from the Wooden Bridge pub. The interior was smartly decorated, and though not very busy, there were other guests in and the waiters attentive. Alcoholic drinks were available. The food was lovely and we would definitely go again.

Have been coming to the Shanin for over 20 years, food superb. The team are professional and helpful, if you need help choosing from the vast menu the team are very knowledgeable and can help. We come here with our family and friends and can honestly say we have never had a bad service and are lucky to have such a great restaurant near by

I’ve been coming here since I was young, it’s an amazing place to eat as all the staff are so amazing and they will help you with the menu always. The staff are very friendly and helpful too , the prices are great here cause they don’t over charge no one. The staff are also very respectful and polite always, so of you want a great place to eat with all the staff polite come down to the Shahin.

Avoid this restaurant at all costs!!!!! Staff are rude and inappropriate, making sexist and unnecessary comments about young women.

Recommendation from a friend as we decided on a takeaway which is not that common for us. Quick and easy to order on line, food arrived sooner than anticipated and was absolutely gorgeous! I am rarely impressed with takeaway meals but this one was well worth it. We had the set meal plus a few extra dishes so we tasted food we would not ordinarily order. Will order again, thanks Shahin.

The curry I had was pretty watery and tasteless. The poppadoms were also really bad, they had a bitter taste to them, I would say that they are the really cheap ones that contain cotton oil. Shame, the place was good last year.

Food was ok, there were some dirt marks on our plate, so I asked them to replace. The waiter just wiped them in front of us and gave us back the same plate. PATHETIC!

Food was not good. Felt stale. Chapati were so uncooked and I didn't understand the need to serve chapati in the plastic bag. Staff served me food in unclean dish and on asking him to change the plate he simply wiped it and placed it back on my table. So disappointing. Food and staff altogether were a bad experience.

Chicken Madras & mushroom rice (takeaway): 5-star food - I didn't find the staff particularly friendly hence 4-star overall rating. Nonetheless, I would definitely return here and therefore I recommend this establishment 👍

Visited Guildford recently and wanted somewhere for a quick meal on a Saturday evening. Really glad I went here. Plenty of vegan options, well cooked, great flavour, lovely service from friendly waiters and good value.

Have tried many Indian restaurants in and around Guildford and always end up coming back here for not just the excellent food but the amazing service. All the staff are super friendly and welcoming. The food is equally excellent. Will continue to be my number 1 recommendation.

Have been to this restaurant alot as local last Thursday 13th was the last. asked to order a bottle of wine advised again that the 4 more reasonable white wine where out of stock again waiting for a delivery!! Wanted us to have a expensive wine £20 to £30 not what you want ! So just ordered a glass. food was very bland will never return much better food and service elsewhere

We didn't expect great service after we read other ratings and it is indeed not the friendliest personnel in town. However, the food was good and tasty.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was 12 years old. The food it so amazing here and the staff are always polite and so very friendly. They all treat me as part of there family and they always look after me. If you are not sure what you want to eat ask them for advice and they will help you always. The prices here are very reasonable too, but most of all they always make you feel welcome and comfortable all the time.

Service atrocious even when trying to pay!

Okay - I wouldn’t normally do this but I’m going to be accused of madness (doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results) if not! I have eaten here 4 times - every time I have suffered next morning with ‘loose bowels’. Coincidence? I think not, so I will stop eating here.

Large restaurant with good decor and pleasant ambiance. The service was very good but the food was rather average. The onion bhaji lacked flavour and the Jalfrezi was a little bland and the lamb somewhat tough. The aloo gobi was however pleasant. Wish I could have scored this place higher as made to feel welcome but the spicing and rather tough meat let the food down and therefore only an average rating from me.

Ok Indian restaurant. Not very busy when I visited but the staff were friendly and the food was OK.

Had a Meal delivered today, it was very nice, good portions and hot, it did take a little time to get here but we are right at the extent of the free delivery zone. way better than the more local (to us) places.

Polite staff, food nice. Parking can be difficult,. Meal deals would be good and buffet opened a bit longer on Sundays but that small issues.

I went in to the Shahin to grab some dinner before a gig at the Boiler Room. There was a party of two and a party of four sat in an otherwise empty large room. I asked for a table for ONE. The waiter looked at me, hesitated and turned to his friend and then said “sorry we have a private party in here, not possible to do a table for one”. Sorry but that’s not cool.

Went with friends on a quiet Wednesday & enjoyed the food we ordered. Service was good and food arrived on time.

My wife and I were with friends staying nearby and decided to give this place a go which was recommended to us.

First visit in several years for a prebirthday meal. Services was excellent and food was great. Very tasty, good portion sizes, meal was a great way to celebrate my birthday in a lovely atmosphere.
