Ashuka Tandoori in Guildford

Absolutely amazing delicious food, excellent service, and beautiful atmosphere all together recommend for everyone.

I ordered a king prawn Madras and a sag aloo and damn it was good.

What a lovely welcome. Super service. The tandoori prawns were delicious. We also enjoyed the Sunday buffet. I would like to most of all commend the delightful waiter who served us on two different days with charm and grace. He was so attentive, thoughtful, swift and forward-thinking. Positive and full of energy. If you are lucky he will also look after you. His nane is Ahmed. Thank you Ahmed for two delightful dining experiences at Ashuka in Guildford.

We had s takeaway. A lamb biriyani and a chicken tikka biriyani with onion bahji s. The meat in my chicken dish was not nice the accompanying veg curry was liquid runny.the onion bhaji very dried up and hard. Was very disappointed as several months ago I had the same experience with chicken korma where sauce was like water and I thought we'd try again. Shame.....won't go again

Gave some fantastic food to the Beavers of 1st Merrow. All the kids loved the food and gave them an opportunity to try something new!

What can I say. My husband and I love the food there. Today they catered for our beaver colony in merrow and they service was fantastic. They put al into boxes so it was easy for 20 children to try. Packed beautifully. They food was so fantastic with the adults and the little people. I don’t normally like onion bhaji but theirs was crispy and the batter was divine. All I can say, Try it and judge for yourselves. This is Ashoka in Guildford.

I haven’t been to Ashuka for a few years and fancied a family take out treat! The prawn puri was excellent but two of the main curries (tikka masala, muli) were very runny, large chunks of chicken and a lot of sweet flavour. Pathia was good. The onion bajees unfortunately were hard and inedible. Will try again but wonder if it was a one off or just how they make it these days. Service and packaging was good and food on time.

Had a delivery. Was delivered fast, hot and incredibly tasty! Highly recommend the chicken tikka..I've had a lot in many places but this is the best so far!

Absolutely beautiful and lovely food. We bought our well behaved son and they were very complimentary about his behaviour and willingness to try spicy foods. We went on a Thursday night without reservation, got a table and was perfectly busy (not too loud not too quiet). Staff (and we think, owners) were all lovely too. Would definitely recommend over the other locally acclaimed curry garden.

Ashuka is by far my favourite Indian restaurant. My partner and I try to go there every other week and we are never disappointed, even took family there when they came visit us. I’d recommend Ashuka for all the ages and groups, from a date night to a night out with friends. It’s just delicious! The staff is always attentive and kind, the food is always exquisite, so I definitely recommend a visit.

Good value buffet lunch on Sundays (eat all you can), air conditioned comfort and good service. Reasonable choice of food, usually at least 3 different curries. Bright and airy restaurant, easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Update March 2020: much the same but looks to be under new management with new staff. Update July 2022: as good as ever, family do to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday and they surprised her with a small desert with sparkler fountain thing at the end. Very pleased, and looking forward to the next visit. Update March 2023: we've been back a few times over the past 11 months and it's still as good as ever. Update June 2023: as per March 2023

I thought I'd come out and say this ... tonight we had a takeaway from ashuka, since I have left my restaurant restaurant (The Rose Valley used to be in town) I can't remember the last time I have enjoyed a indian takeaway as much as tonight.. well done guys the food was very nice. thank you. Ps> I'm not saying it because I know the people personally, but genuinely it was good !!

Always been great before..a bit shocked for my sons {both 10} were charged for adult. apparently over 7 is classed as adult!! Sunday buffet..not great options..£90 for two adults & 2 kids..!!!

As an Indian, I have to say the food flavour here was far from authentic. The first to last bite we were really dissatisfied and surprised how anyone would like the food if they knew what Indian food should taste like. Also annoyed that a few things we wanted were not available that day! Trying to be balanced here, great that they have cobra and kingfisher on tap and the naans were decent too. Will certainly not be visiting again, much rather have a pizza and stay in!

I met a lovely man who served me (Nabib) he was very professional and the food was very nice I have not seen him since thought the staff are great

The food is usually good. However, on this occasion I called up to enquire about trying the Sunday buffet at 1.30 and was told it closes at 2.30 as it says on the website. I travel 30 minutes, arrive at 2pm and am told it it closing so they refuse to seat me. Unbelievable. I spectacular way to p*ss off your customers.

I dined at your restaurant on new years eve And I am writing to inform you that I was so disappointed with the food that it has made me write an email, which is something that I never normally do I always eat the same order in any Indian restaurant Tandoori chicken starter Tandoori mixed grill. Ashuka platter Something I have had at the Ashuka 3 times before This time the meat certainly was below par even the starter which was over salty and not well cooked When my main arrived I couldn't believe it the chicken was a small thigh that had bones and a couple of thin small pieces. The lamb was two pieces of thin sliced meat none of which had seen the inside of a Tandoori oven no char at all It resembled a home cooked effort certainly no skewer marks On reporting this to the waiter a senior waiter arrived when I explained that the chicken was either small and limp or boney he proceeded to take a knife and fork to my plate and started cutting the chicken to find I was right, how rude this was. My wife had ordered the same dish and hers in comparison looked slightly better I pointed this out and was told I was wrong I had to reorder a different dish, chicken madras And believe I was not charged for this was also shocked in this event to see a service charge of 13.50 on the total bill. I understand that service charge may be automatically be added but as our entire evening had been spoilt I thought this was a cheek If you like I can forward you a picture of a Tandoori mixed grill from the Internet to show your chef In these times of adversity I think that dropping standards in any business is probably not a good thing Paul

Food is really nice but had to wait another 20 minutes (on top of the 40…) for a take away.

Really not impressed anymore. Cold food, they gave free onion salad and yogurt dip with the takeaway previously but not anymore! I think it’s time to try a new one as we haven’t been impressed for a while now

I have been visiting Ashuka Tandoori for past 6 month. The food tastes awesome. Excellent service, polite, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The owner is a gentleman, very polite , courteous & down to earth. A must visit place in Guildford to enjoy delicious cuisine.

We ordered takeaway and the food was disgusting. The meat was so old and dry (really tough) for a lamb shank, we had to put it in the garbage. As a matter of fact, we had a chicken tikka dansak, which was the same. Vapid and very bland. I thought we were eating this week's leftovers. Please don't waste your money, even the manager wasn't interested in our phone/complaint review and we were told whether you don't like it, don't come back here. Not very professional with an attitude. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Good food and friendly service. Cobra and Kingfisher on tap, and a range of good wines. The Lamb Biryani and plain nan were botb good, and the portion sizes generous for all the dishes on our table

The food was excellent quality and good portion sizes. We were extremely well looked after by Murshed who from the beginning went out of his way to make it a great birthday experience. He was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. When he found out it was my birthday he insisted on getting a pudding with a sparkler in it to celebrate! We will definitely be returning!

We went to Ashuka Tandoori when visiting the area and it was the best Indian we have ever eaten, and we have tried a few over the years. Amazing food, the service was exceptional and it made our trip worth it.

We went for the all you can eat Sunday lunch buffet and loved it! Friendly service, good selection of curry classics, and it was super yummy. The daal was a little salty, but everything else was spot on. There was a certain Christmas carol that was on repeat in the background for half an hour, but once we mentioned it the staff changed it straight away :D

I had an excellent buffet meal at Ashuka last Sunday. They had a lovely variety of curries; including vegetable, lamb, Aloo Saag, Dahl and more than one chicken curry. Their selection of starters was good too, with Samosas, onion rings and battered potato slices among them. The quality of the food was great too and it was very good value for money. I should also add that I go to Ashuka for their Sunday Buffet very often and this review is representative of at least ten occasions when I have been there during the past four years!

very poor took ages to get served and then got the bill wrong and made a seen after we had paid and walked out will not be recommding or visiting again shame as food was really good

A family run Indian restaurant which also does takeaway.. The service is well organised and the food delish! Well worth going... Tonight the Chef went out of his way to cook one of my favourite Dishes.. and the service!!!

I order a delivery and it came an hour late despite me chasing all the time. They told me they would call me back but never did. The food is good albeit arrived cold.

When we moved into the area we had been trying to find a a decent takeaway for a while with not much luck. Finally found ashuka, fantastic food, great service and always a couple of extras thrown in. Defintiley recommend

Lunch buffet offered on Sundays is excellent. Had a good family eatout. Naan and lamb gosht were my favourites. Children also get ice-cream. Price for buffet was quite reasonable. All items were fresh and warm and served with good service.

Went with a group of 14 people, and the guys at Ashuka REALLY looked after us. Excellent food, fantastic service. If I had a complaint, it would be that I was too full for dessert, but that’s really on me.

We recently visited the Ashuka restaurant and were blown away by the service, the food and the restaurant. With plenty of parking right outside there’s a wide choice of amazing dishes and it’s perfect for young families exceptional service!

The family meal was ordered on line for delivery 1 hour later. After 90 minutes nothing had arrived. I phoned and was told that the meal was now on its way, no apology for leaving 30 mins late. We are 3 miles from the restaurant. Another 40 minutes later the meal arrived, cold and no apology.

The food was ok, except we were all given the wrong dishes. When we questioned their mistake we were disappointed with the lack of empathy. What a shame

Amazing food! We went on a Sunday for the buffet. I love a hot chicken tikka masala which isn’t on the buffet but they made me one specially. It was lovely and very HOT!!’

Food was very good with frequent replacement with the buffet, great music to add to the atmosphere, throughly enjoyed it.
