The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

First time visiting, a relaxed and chilled under ground level restaurant. Food was nice and hot, well seasoned and delicious! Nice and quiet place to enjoy some peace and the company you take with you.

Turned up at the Red Rose on Friday night and had not made a reservation, the place was busy and I can see why as the food is amazing, the professionalism of the staff and the service is wonderful. After trying to work out if the could accomodate us they actually carried in an extra small table so they could seat us. Thank you for a lovely memorable evening.

Edit 1/12/2024 Really shocked by some of the recent reviews that were really concerning so I ordered a takeaway to see if the quality of the food was as was described in other reviews. Ordered a lamb biriani which came with a vegetable curry side dish. Ordered a stuffed parata as extra and need not have been concerned. Plenty of lamb in the dish and super tasty as usual. Roll on Christmas day and looking forward to our reservation at Huthwaite Tandoori. Edit 13/04/2024 Nothing has changed here. Perfect food and great hospitality from owner and all of his staff. And such attentive staff with brilliant manager. Thank you all for such a wonderful evening and my family and I will see you very soon. Update 06/04/21 The restaurant is still doing takeaways and a delivery within 5 miles. I live 7 miles away, but when I got home the food was actually still sizzling when I opened the containers up. I kid you not! And the food was just divine. Lamb biriani, vegatable curry, bombay aloo and a porata x 2 Thanks to the friendly staff that cooked it all up

Visited with Wife and Grandaughter First visit after the Resturant had been flooded last winter. We had the lobster tail Changri three tail perfectly cooked sauce to die for pilau rice Beautifully fresh nannsa pashwariand a garlic one Nothing has changed Everything A1 A must on my visits to the area from Wales Grandaughter had butter chicken curry again A1 lots of beautifully cooked chicken All reasonably priced Thanks All

I've always used Bollywood, on and off over the last few years and always found the food to be good. On Wednesday I had a takeway (and never quite expect them to be as good as sitting down in the restaurant).....but it was absolutely excellent. I don't know if they have a new chef who's really on his/her game or if this is the standard but everything was fabulous...highly recommend the chicken Methi, King Prawn Khari and the mushroom rice .....cracking. Keep it up.

Food is okay okay, but the rice is overcooked and broken. It's supposed to be long-grain rice. And once we finished the main course, just about to leave, then suddenly the harabhara kebab arrived, which we ordered as a starter.

Best curry in Okehampton and run by a really nice family. If you're in the area thus is a must.

Had one of the best if not the best mixed grill here today, Sal provided excellent service from start to finish, can’t recommend enough!

Severe food poisoning.undercooked meat .lost 7 lbs in weight in 3 days .ended up having a heart attack and in cardiac unit treliske hospital for 5 days never again

My girlfriend and I visited the beautifully decorated Tamarind in Mayfair recently and were incredibly impressed by both the food and the service....

All take away meals I have had, have been enjoyable I would highly recommend, set menu £14.95 Keep up the good work!

Very disappointed after reading the previous reviews. Good service but a poor quality meal. Over cooked starter and lukewarm main course.

Went a engagement party here......absolutely spot on food fantastic. Service bang on.will definitely come again.....thanks for a brilliant night..and looking after kids .....
