Amazing dining experience here from our welcome into the restaurant to the bill everything was amazing. The open kitchen brought life into the room and you can see there’s passion in the kitchen something I’ve wished for years in my own home. Starters or small dishes were great and wished I could have tried everything on that section. The big plates we ordered the fish curry and rice with grilled broccoli with cream cheese and black dhal. Everything was bravo, taste buds were rejoicing, stomach and mind happy. Last nights pre theatre meal the experience was so good we are going back to for lunch.

Average food which is overpriced. Laccha Paratha was soggy and I have had better Laccha Paratha at INR 5 than GBP 5 which they charge.

Another absolutely fantastic meal at Pahli Hill! As always the food was spectacular. A refined take on classics with real attention to details. The dishes taste as good as they look and the staff are perfectly attentive. Overall I think the team behind Pahli Hill really know what they’re doing. Great service (food all arrived quickly and the presentation was excellent), great food and a good atmosphere. We will keep coming back!

I was slightly disappointed after visiting. We had dinner before theatre and when we arrived the place was empty - nothing unusual, we like to have time and book early, it filled up later. We got some advice about dishes from our server and she was helpful and attentive. Food: starters were really good to amazing, absolutely loved the chaat. Mains were however really boring and quite disappointing, highlight was the flaky bread sadly. Panner was nice but the sharing mains just didn’t deliver, both lamb and chicken were bland. I’m not a fan of dessert, so wasn’t really interested in any. Didn’t blow my friends away either after they ordered theirs. Drinks: amazing blood orange margarita, would consider coming back just for that, but I’m a big margarita fan. Very nice dessert wine selection. Service: this is where I was really annoyed, it felt like the kitchen was running low on plates as they were taken the second someone felt a plate was empty (whether it was or wasn’t), our conversation was interrupted over a dozen times during the two courses, and it was not because we were short on space on the table and needed something else served. This was noted by everyone at the table. Plates should be cleared once the course is finished all together to minimise interrupting dinner conversation. All in all, I expected (a lot) more from the mains and service to justify the price. We had a nice time, but I don’t think we’ll repeat the experience.

I have to say that this restaurant is inches away from being a Michelin star restaurant. Top notch service, top notch food. What more do I want? Some meals aren’t just food—they’re an experience. ✨ And Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai delivered one packed with bold flavors, perfect textures, and all the right desi indulgences! Started off with the papdi chaat, a crunchy, tangy delight that set the tone, followed by the rich and flavorful Bombay bhaji, bringing street-style nostalgia to the table. From the tandoor & grill, the stuffed paneer was smoky, soft, and spiced to perfection. But the real magic was in the mains—paneer makhan-walia and black dal, paired with flaky flatbread and tandoori sourdough roti, making every bite indulgent and comforting. And because no good meal is complete without the classics, a side of raw onions and mint chutney tied it all together like a dream. 🌿🧅🔥 Every bite felt like a love letter to Indian flavors, served up with that signature Bandra vibe. Can’t wait to be back for more! Who’s joining me next time? 🍽️

We were v excited to visit the restaurant but the experience doesn’t quite live up to expectations. Service was friendly but occasionally inattentive, with a few long waits between courses. Not enough staff to cater The menu reads well, with a creative take on regional Indian dishes, but the execution was inconsistent. Portion sizes also felt on the smaller side for the price point. Pahli Hill has potential and is enjoyable in parts, but for the price and the hype, it falls short of being memorable. Perhaps not one to rush back to.

Just had one of the best meals in London here. Hands down one of the best Indian meals around; phenomenal service; the chaat, calamari, beef and lamb were epic! The chocolate cake desert was divine. In conclusion, the cost performance is not very good. I ordered a thali lunch that included two vegetables and two meat dishes, but to be honest, I wasn't impressed. The waiter didn't have much knowledge about wine, and the red wine I chose didn't really go well with the curry. The service was neither good nor bad. However, it was quite expensive for lunch, so I was a little disappointed. . By the way, the wine I drank at the vijaya restaurant I visited the day before, which was one-third the price, was three times as delicious.

Oh no it was so terrible. Came because of the high regard on a review from my friend who visited last year. I see good reviews more recently but how is this possible when they don’t have half of items on their drinks menu or the food. I should have realised there is a problem when I see this is a big restaurant that was almost empty. Everything is out of stock and what they do have is not worth the price. Cocktails are so bad it tastes like everything is made with syrup. Food prices £30+ for one curry £7 for a small rice. Chicken tikka is so dry it was painful to eat. One mushroom dish was so slimy maybe it was out of date. From online pictures there was truffle on it but ours had not come with any. Took over half an hour to arrive even through the restaurant was quiet. Menus online very different to in the restaurant. Atmosphere is very awkward. Service is very disappointing. Why is everybody running away from the guests? I see people looking for help including me and everybody wants to hide. Very disappointed. Much better Indian food in London than here. Avoid avoid

We visited Pahli Hill on a Thursday at lunchtime. We chose to have the set menu and thought it was excellent value. We absolutely loved the papadi chaat and the thalis were excellent, with a variety of flavours and textures. The paneer curry on the thali was yummy. I found the homemade lemonade disappointing, but the food made up for it. The restaurant was very, very quiet and I found that strange for a restaurant offering such a good value set menu in London. It was a lot of food, so I recommend not having a late lunch before you go. The spices in each dish were delicately balanced. My wife had the pescetarian option and I went with the regular. Honestly I was quite disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered the chicken curry for my main course and they got my order wrong and gave the fish curry. Also service was really slow even though the restaurant was only 3/4 full, took a long time for our starters and main to come, so long that we missed our plans after dinner. Getting the waitress' attention seem difficult at times. The food was quite nice but extremely expensive, it was £33 for the fish curry alone and to add rice was another £8, so around £41 for a full fish curry, which is insane. Ye i doubt I would go again.

Disappointed with my experience - we booked a table for 9:45, and as soon as we entered we were told the kitchen shuts in 10 (don’t give away tables that late). Ordered appetisers and small plates with cocktails. The plating for two of the small plates was sub-par, was almost like they threw it on the only available plate and served it (don’t go by what you see on instagram). The chicken tikka was bland, the hara bhara kebab lacked oompf, crab sukha was not bad (but the poori was cold), the shikhari kebab wasn’t a seekh but the taste was good (no complaints there, except the shabby plating). Yes the decor is nice, cosy, the cocktails are nice (be careful not to choose a super sweet one). I know the place can do more - maybe it was just bad timing on our part. The photo I’ve added doesn’t include the other averagely plated dishes.

Overall a little disappointing Set menu Friday lunchtime, table for two I booked a couple of weeks in advance, calling to ask if the set menu was suitable for vegans as I wanted to give this a go. The employee kindly confirmed it was and I was very excited to come along and dine, having followed the chef closely since great British menu. Arrived and ask again about options, informed the hara kebab small plate is vegan, and for large the paper dosa or they can do a vegan Thali. I order the Hara Kebab and Thali. I am immediately informed that the kebab is only vegan without the chutney and garnish (so therefore is not vegan) which is fine, I ask if they put anything on instead and they say the tamarind chutney but this is not true as that comes as standard with the dish... No need to lie to me really. My friend orders the kebab with dairy. When they arrive, she comments that the minty lemon chutney makes the dish as it cuts through the strong tamarind and kebab. It was a little disappointing to therefore be sold this as a complete dish when mine clearly lacked this. I felt it was a little bland. I did request some chilli to liven it up, which took a long time to come. I later found they'd charged me £3 for the privilege of the chilli, despite my paying full price for the dish without some elements. On to the main, the Thali arrives and looks lovely. They talk me through what's included, the beetroot poriyal, an okra curry, a dhal and a saag sauce, since they've taken the paneer out and not replaced it with anything (again, I find this odd. Why say the dish is easily vegan and sells it well to me if actually you just take the dairy out and don't replace it with anything. A sauce is not the same as a curry.) it also had a very small amount of lime pickle, a roti, and a papad. I saw no sign of the kofta mentioned on the menu and no one explained where this was. The curries themself nice enough but it was still disappointing not to get the full experience. I would have ordered the other dish had I known. The portion was good at least. Service was attentive and pleasant. Overall the food was good but I felt saddened to miss some things I feel could easily have been provided, especially when I still paid full price. And I do begrudge paying £3 for a some chopped chilli when you saved money on the dairy... Would not return myself knowing this, but may say to dairy and meat eaters to go along 💁🏼♀️ Bit of a shame as I had been excited to eat here for a couple of years and the opportunity finally came only to fall flat.

I visited this place yesterday, on my birthday after reading some raving reviews about the place. We placed the order for starters (Chicken Tikka and Papdi Chat), and a Sholay Martini. The martini was really bad, extremely bitter and the chicken was undercooked. We also felt like we were rushed by the service staff during this process, they were in such a hurry to get to the next thing. Nevertheless we left after the starters and resumed our dinner somewhere else. I am unsure who really thinks this place deserves a Michellen star, or is a hidden gem because there is a reason its not been discovered yet and you haven't actually had Indian food at some of the amazing places that London has.

Well, well, well! What a delightful & exciting new restaurant in St John’s, Woking of all places! From the very warm welcome as we walked in the front door to the moment they waved us goodbye the experience was genuinely 5 stars! A unique take on Mumbai Street food yet also with some familiar ‘Indian/English’ themes coming through makes it fresh and new but keeps us connected with the great dishes we grew up with. The ingredients were clearly well sourced as everything was A-Grade in flavour, freshness & tenderness. The little complimentary touches at the start and end illustrate an attention to detail often only experienced at posh A Lister venues in London/New York/LA. Quality over quantity was also very welcomed as it enabled us to try a few different dishes off the well constructed menu. We had 2 lamb dishes (one mild one extra spicy), king prawns in a sweeter coconutty blend and the fluffy white breads and rice. Head chef came out for a genuinely friendly and insightful chat about his creations and the stories behind them. What a gem! I rarely give 5 stars but if we could give 6 this would definitely be the restaurant that gets them! Please go and see for yourself. Stunning.

Honestly 10 out 10 meal, it was so delicious I can’t wait to come back. I’ve been to Trishna, Gymkhana, Dishoom, Hoppers, Brigadiers and honestly this meal competes with those well established names. And yet it offers something slightly different and unique I thought. 2 of us shared about 5 dishes, a combination of smaller and bigger plates. Everything was delicious, particularly the chicken curry. Staff were adorable and had good recommendations and also good banter so very thankful for their great service. My only negative point is that I thought it was a touch too expensive given we paid 160£ for two although we had two beers each. For that price I would still rather go to Trishna but wouldn’t take anything away from how tasty this restaurant is. Conclusion: highly recommend and will come back.

You get to see him finishing off each dish and checking it before it goes out. It's well worth the money as the amount of food you get is ridiculous, we had to take some home as we couldn't finish it. Every dish was amazing, but my stand outs were probably the crab sukkha, kulcha, dosa and the mussels. The chicken tikka is the best I have eaten anywhere and the lamb is cooked so well - I don't usually even like lamb, but this was delicious. Torneremo!

A wonderful restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, yet the decor is refined and elegant. The food was excellent, and the service was warm and attentive—our server was especially kind.

The Chef’s Table at Pahli Hill is a sensational treat. Chef Avi’s talent for innovative cuisine is matched by his storytelling gifts. Gluten-free and vegetarian options were seamless and no problem. The vibe was festive and high. Passionate sommelier and attentive servers. We’ll be back.

Avoid at all costs!! Restaurant was so incredibly noisy and loud that my ears were ringing after we left. It was impossible to have any meaningful conversation because nobody at our table could hear the person next to them. Had to yell loudly to get service (staff were kind but they simply couldn't hear us.) Cocktails were good. Desserts were way too sweet. Inedible. Rest of the dishes unmemorable. Food was slightly overpriced but this seems to be the norm for whitewashed Indian food.

Pahli Hill offers an authentic and flavorful Indian dining experience. The menu is unique and offers some really different recipes from the usual indian restaurants. The flaky naan bread really good and the sourdough roti is perfectly soft. The curries are well-balanced with the right amount of heat and spices. The staff is warm and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of vegetarian options or hearty meat dishes, Pahli hill delivers consistent quality in a cozy atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone craving genuine Indian cuisine!

It’s a real shame that this restaurant experience is ruined by being far too noisy. Had a table for 6 birthday celebration. The food was delicious, friendly and professional staff. But we could not have any group conversations because we literally couldn’t hear each other. Ordering with the staff was frustrating as we’d all have to repeat ourselves as couldn’t hear each other. The general feeling was one of frustration and exhaustion. It just felt like a real downer. This could surely be resolved with sound absorbers on the ceiling, some curtains / wall hangings, and table cloths. I won’t be going back for now.

Firstly for a restaurant of its class, there were several issues. - the restaurant was very noisy, poor liting. We struggled to see what we were eating. - dining experience is enhanced when one can use all their senses. - we waited 15 min for someone to give us the menu and had to ask three times for a wine menu. - The starter (Mangalore bun) was served cold. There should be a better quality check at service. - we waited 45 min between the starter and the main course being served. - Dosa was not crisp and served to the standard an Indian restaurant should be serving - despite highlighting the above to the server, and we told a manager would come and speak to us, he did not come until we settled the bill.( we did not hold back the gratuity) - there should have been some gesture for the poor quality offered. Please avoid, there are better places with better dining and food quality in London.

Called me an hour before we were meant to eat at our reservation time saying that they didn’t have the table as they had overbooked. On a Saturday night which is very inconvenient. No apology offered.

The seabass is a favourite - I drop by whenever I’m in London just for the seabass. This time, I brought my wife and a friend. We ALL ordered the seabass - thankfully it was as great as ever and we all enjoyed it tremendously.

Best Dosa and Thali Fish in London. Portion is humongous and ingredients are superb. Fish is wild halibut, and those who know quality should appreciate hallibut.

the food was pretty good, the lamb biryani was very nice, super tender and flavorful. the chicken tikka masala was a little too salty & the chicken curry was a little bland. though the free starter they gave was very delicious. however, the service did not feel very friendly at all and we felt very rushed. wouldn’t really recommend it as the food is very pricey but not worth it.

I recently got very obsessed about the Michelin's Guide list of restaurants in London that have a Bib Gourmand status and that's how I found out about this place as I hadn't seen any foodie influencers promoting it and none of my friends knew this place either. As a massive foodie and a lover of Indian food, I naturally had to come try it out and see what my own verdict would be. I made a reservation in advance with 3 friends for a Thursday night for an early birthday celebration. It's not too busy at 7pm and I absolutely loved the interior design. We got seated downstairs and I fell in love with the vibes instantly. It's got the old school Indian pictures and posters to give a retro vibe but it's also kinda of giving a modern stylish finish at the same time. The staff was super attentive and friendly. When I told them one of my friends had a gluten allergy they immediately went away to scrap off a few items on the menu and clearly flagged to us what we shouldn't order to avoid those dishes. We took some time to decide because the entire menu looked amazing but the staff member never once rushed us. In the end, we went for the summer chaat and the mengalorean bun with crab sukkha as starters, switching out the bun for some gluten free Indian style pancakes. They were absolutely fluffy and soft and the crab sukkha was so flavourful and not seafood-y and got a really good kick to it. The summer chaat was absolutely fantastic, one of my personal biggest highlights of our whole dinner I must say. It's so refreshing with the honey figs and peaches. We also ordered the tandoori chicken tikka which was so juicy and tender and well-marinated. We were off to a great start. For mains, we had the saag paneer and fish curry with lamb biryani and a sourdough roti on the side. Again, everything was absolutely delightful. Didn't know spinach puree could have so much flavour and the fish was so tender it basically melted in my mouth. Curry was rich and not overly spicy and the lamb biryani had a good amount of lamb meat in it. The sourdough roti was flaky and fluffy and well-made, went well with the curries. For dessert, we ordered the signature carrot halwa vanilla ice cream which was the absolute highlight for me in the entire meal. I have never had something quite like this before! It's almost like an elevated carrot mash with crushed pistachios sprinkled all around the vanilla ice cream to give it a nutty flavour and crunchy texture. And the flavours were so pleasant they just all worked so well together it's basically like a symphony in my mouth! My friends and I had the best time in this restaurant thoroughly enjoying our dinner and we all agreed that this was probably one of the best modern Indian restaurants we have ever had in London! I will be sure to come back very soon to try the other menu items :)

Thanks very much for helping put together a large group for my birthday. The space was good for our group though in the middle of the place we may have been noisy for others! The staff handled a group our size very well and I think we ordered about the right amount and range. Food was overall great and every one was talking about it with some interesting and slightly different offers (summer chaat). The price overall was on the high end though with some reasonably priced decent wines, but this was a treat. With that in mind, some dishes were not as great as others. The coorg pork shoulder was my favorite. The cocktail bar was closed for an event so there was a limited cocktail menu but what we had was good. Nice to have a chat with Chef Avi after. Will be back with others for the counter menu!

We recently celebrated our anniversary on our trip to London and stopped in for a 2:30 reservation. This meal was one of the highlights of our vacation from the US and we will remember the food for many years to come! Our server Shakel took very attentive care of our table. The food was so delicious and creative and plated esquisitely. Bursting with flavor and the perfect spice level. Great value for the Spring tasting Menu! Look forward to coming back on future trips. The ambiance is so sophisticated set in a library in such a historic place. Takes you back in time with modern decor and amenities.

I was dining alone and opted for the pre-theatre menu at £29 plus £5 extra for dessert. The service was flawless from start to finish and was paced really well so I never felt rushed. The food was fantastic. It began with well presented starter which was full of colour, flavour and texture. The main course was lovely with a selection of four tasty dishes accompanied by rice and naan bread. I tried the Kala Jamun dessert which was sweet and sticky and perfectly complemented with ice cream. The pre-theatre menu is fantastic value and I look forward to returning soon.
