Honestly 10 out 10 meal, it was so delicious I can’t wait to come back. I’ve been to Trishna, Gymkhana, Dishoom, Hoppers, Brigadiers and honestly this meal competes with those well established names. And yet it offers something slightly different and unique I thought. 2 of us shared about 5 dishes, a combination of smaller and bigger plates. Everything was delicious, particularly the chicken curry. Staff were adorable and had good recommendations and also good banter so very thankful for their great service. My only negative point is that I thought it was a touch too expensive given we paid 160£ for two although we had two beers each. For that price I would still rather go to Trishna but wouldn’t take anything away from how tasty this restaurant is. Conclusion: highly recommend and will come back.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant, we did the chef's counter experience for a birthday (for the second time, it's that good) and all the food was incredible, chef Avi is great and explains all the dishes to you and is happy to answer questions and have a chat with you. You get to see him finishing off each dish and checking it before it goes out. It's well worth the money as the amount of food you get is ridiculous, we had to take some home as we couldn't finish it. Every dish was amazing, but my stand outs were probably the crab sukkha, kulcha, dosa and the mussels. The chicken tikka is the best I have eaten anywhere and the lamb is cooked so well - I don't usually even like lamb, but this was delicious. The service from all of the team is attentive but not overbearing, Kamal was great and very funny. I highly recommend this restaurant, probably my favourite Indian I've been to. Thanks to all the team & we will definitely be back.

Absolutely delightful! Pahli Hill’s menu offers a variety of flavours, both in food and drinks. The portion sizes are very generous as well. The Bandra Bhai bar, where we were seated has a great ambience, with friendly staff to top it off. As a vegetarian, it’s often challenging to find a fine dining experience that justifies the price. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fine dining spot in London!

Avoid at all costs!! Restaurant was so incredibly noisy and loud that my ears were ringing after we left. It was impossible to have any meaningful conversation because nobody at our table could hear the person next to them. Had to yell loudly to get service (staff were kind but they simply couldn't hear us.) Cocktails were good. Desserts were way too sweet. Inedible. Rest of the dishes unmemorable. Food was slightly overpriced but this seems to be the norm for whitewashed Indian food.

It’s a real shame that this restaurant experience is ruined by being far too noisy. Had a table for 6 birthday celebration. The food was delicious, friendly and professional staff. But we could not have any group conversations because we literally couldn’t hear each other. Ordering with the staff was frustrating as we’d all have to repeat ourselves as couldn’t hear each other. The general feeling was one of frustration and exhaustion. It just felt like a real downer. This could surely be resolved with sound absorbers on the ceiling, some curtains / wall hangings, and table cloths. I won’t be going back for now.

Firstly for a restaurant of its class, there were several issues. - the restaurant was very noisy, poor liting. We struggled to see what we were eating. - dining experience is enhanced when one can use all their senses. - we waited 15 min for someone to give us the menu and had to ask three times for a wine menu. - The starter (Mangalore bun) was served cold. There should be a better quality check at service. - we waited 45 min between the starter and the main course being served. - Dosa was not crisp and served to the standard an Indian restaurant should be serving - despite highlighting the above to the server, and we told a manager would come and speak to us, he did not come until we settled the bill.( we did not hold back the gratuity) - there should have been some gesture for the poor quality offered. Please avoid, there are better places with better dining and food quality in London.

Pahli Hill offers an authentic and flavorful Indian dining experience. The menu is unique and offers some really different recipes from the usual indian restaurants. The flaky naan bread really good and the sourdough roti is perfectly soft. The curries are well-balanced with the right amount of heat and spices. The staff is warm and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of vegetarian options or hearty meat dishes, Pahli hill delivers consistent quality in a cozy atmosphere. I recently got very obsessed about the Michelin's Guide list of restaurants in London that have a Bib Gourmand status and that's how I found out about this place as I hadn't seen any foodie influencers promoting it and none of my friends knew this place either. As a massive foodie and a lover of Indian food, I naturally had to come try it out and see what my own verdict would be. I made a reservation in advance with 3 friends for a Thursday night for an early birthday celebration. It's not too busy at 7pm and I absolutely loved the interior design. We got seated downstairs and I fell in love with the vibes instantly. It's got the old school Indian pictures and posters to give a retro vibe but it's also kinda of giving a modern stylish finish at the same time. The staff was super attentive and friendly. When I told them one of my friends had a gluten allergy they immediately went away to scrap off a few items on the menu and clearly flagged to us what we shouldn't order to avoid those dishes. We took some time to decide because the entire menu looked amazing but the staff member never once rushed us. In the end, we went for the summer chaat and the mengalorean bun with crab sukkha as starters, switching out the bun for some gluten free Indian style pancakes. They were absolutely fluffy and soft and the crab sukkha was so flavourful and not seafood-y and got a really good kick to it. The summer chaat was absolutely fantastic, one of my personal biggest highlights of our whole dinner I must say. It's so refreshing with the honey figs and peaches. We also ordered the tandoori chicken tikka which was so juicy and tender and well-marinated. We were off to a great start. For mains, we had the saag paneer and fish curry with lamb biryani and a sourdough roti on the side. Again, everything was absolutely delightful. Didn't know spinach puree could have so much flavour and the fish was so tender it basically melted in my mouth. Curry was rich and not overly spicy and the lamb biryani had a good amount of lamb meat in it. The sourdough roti was flaky and fluffy and well-made, went well with the curries. For dessert, we ordered the signature carrot halwa vanilla ice cream which was the absolute highlight for me in the entire meal. I have never had something quite like this before! It's almost like an elevated carrot mash with crushed pistachios sprinkled all around the vanilla ice cream to give it a nutty flavour and crunchy texture. And the flavours were so pleasant they just all worked so well together it's basically like a symphony in my mouth! My friends and I had the best time in this restaurant thoroughly enjoying our dinner and we all agreed that this was probably one of the best modern Indian restaurants we have ever had in London! I will be sure to come back very soon to try the other menu items :)

We eat in many Indian restaurants across the globe. We were impressed with Chef Avi's creativity and presentation of the dishes. We found it flavourful and interesting. The service by Rosemary was exemplary, Kamal our waiter was charming. We ordered an excellent bottle of red wine 2017 Chateau Hostens-Picant, Saint Foy. Starters were Coorg de Pork shoulder and Pondicherry fried squid with a delicious bread which was delicious and slightly charred for extra flavour. The Pali Hill chicken tikka was succulent and full of flavour. The main dish was Homemade fish curry. It was nice but not our favourite. Aubergine Bharata was truly delicious. The Saffron rice was good. The dishes were a good size, we over-ordered as it was our 1st time in this restaurant we had no idea how large the dishes would be. Chef Avi was amicable. We wish him all the best and we shall return shortly.

Thanks very much for helping put together a large group for my birthday. The space was good for our group though in the middle of the place we may have been noisy for others! The staff handled a group our size very well and I think we ordered about the right amount and range. Food was overall great and every one was talking about it with some interesting and slightly different offers (summer chaat). The price overall was on the high end though with some reasonably priced decent wines, but this was a treat. With that in mind, some dishes were not as great as others. The coorg pork shoulder was my favorite. The cocktail bar was closed for an event so there was a limited cocktail menu but what we had was good. Nice to have a chat with Chef Avi after. A real shame that the greed and lack of ethics of management in attempting to get clientele to pay a service charge twice undermines the excellent food and service. The prices are high - why do you and other restaurants attempt this scam? Is Michelin aware?

There was a 12.5% service charge added to an already elevated bill. When I tried to pay by credit card I was asked for a tip. The waitress tried to explain that the service charge went to other staff and that the tip reflected what I thought of the service. This is a scam and an unacceptable trend in UK restaurants. As a result I withdrew the 12.5 % optional service and I urge other diners to do the same at all restaurants that attempt this scam. Otherwise the food and service was superb.

Even by London standrads, you need to be fairly loaded to enjoy a meal at Pahlihill Bandrabhai Restaurant. The portions are reasonable, but yet, not quite commensurate with the pricing - again, even by London standards. If the price includes the high standrad of friendly, efficient and caring service staff, if it includes the open kitchen system which ensures a very high order of safety in food handling and preparation, well, I am willing to concede, they have a right to charge what they do. May be it is the retiree in me that hurt a bit when the bill came! The atmosphere is nice and cozy, and the place is child- (in my case, grandchild) friendly. They have a cloak room facility, which is very convenient.

If you’re looking for a special treat and you’re in the mood for some southern Indian cuisine, then you gotta come here! We had one day left in London before flying home to Los Angeles and my daughter had a craving and suggested we try this place! On short notice, we were able to grab a late seating at 7:45pm and this place was still hopping with locals having a grand old time! Kamal was our server and he was quite knowledgeable of the dishes and had some wonderful recommendations that we were lucky enough to have followed. We were hungry and adventurous so we tried a little bit of everything. Of all the items we tried and loved, a few items really stuck out! You MUST order these! 1. The Summer Chat is a must as it was a refreshing salad with delicious tomatoes, burrata cheese and cantaloupe! 2. The Flaky Flat Bread-Hot & Delicious 3. The Grilled Asparagus-Very Flavorful 4. The Mangalore Bun & Crab Sukkha (Be sure to tear the bun and stuff crab in it to experience ultimate “Boss Level” taste! 5. Lamb Rump-Cooked to Perfection! 6. The Pahli Hill Chicken Tikka-Yummy! 7. Saag Paneer-Ties Everything Together 8. For Dessert: Carrot Cake “Halwa” with Ice Cream 9. Also for dessert: Mango Cheesecake Kamal was a great server. He was quick, efficient and with a sharp sense of humor. I feel that without his suggestions and honest opinion, we wouldn’t have chosen some of the dishes….we would have completely missed out! We will definitely be coming back here again next year when we’re back in London and will look for Kamal again! Thank you Kamal & Pahli Hill!

Mango cheesecake was perfect, delectable!!I must add for me personally, when we sat down the server asked us - if we wanted water on our tables (never in London I have been asked this) he also got ice cubes and lemon slices. A wonderful Tasting Menu experience enjoyed Saturday 6th April. I appreciated a phone call beforehand to ask about allergies and totally forgot to mention we had a gluten free and one pregnant dietary requirement. This was politely and professionally handled when we arrrived by Francis, and the meal including all the substitutions were absolutely amazing. We all enjoyed a flavoursome cocktail. For those not drinking it wasn’t any loss; the cocktails were flavoursome and enjoyable. We all had 2 each! It was some of the best indian cuisine we had all eaten! We had dishes such as asparagus with yoghurt, spicy pork, a hearty chicken curry, beautifully cooked lamb and beef slivers with sauce and the desserts! Normally overly sweet, we mere presented with the lightest and fluffiest cheesecake, mango sorbet and carrot halwa. By the end of the meal we were full of praise at the pace, size of portions, attentive staff and overall experience. I think I’ve just found my favourite Indian in London. Incredible food, very pleasant and helpful staff. The atmosphere is unpretentious and the food absolutely amazing. Best Indian food I have had in years!! Very reasonable prices too! What more can you ask from a restaurant???

A fabulous meal, each dish was delicious. Particularly, the Kulcha with mushroom & truffle was spectacular, perfectly balanced with a kick from the Birds Eye chilli. The Bottle Gourd Kofta had a lovely saffron flavour, and was paired well with the flaky parota and spongy sourdough roti. Will come again!

Don’t normally write reviews but for the price you paying to eat there the food is absolutely nothing exciting. £32 for a curry and they say to share but there is not enough meat for sharing. All meat and fish portions are small but put on big plates with big piles of veg so it looks like there’s more. Servers dont know the dishes and couldn’t tell us what was being given to our table. 2 of our starters never arrived manager told us he will give us something free yet we got charged for the starters and nothing complimentary. Overall bad experience. Cocktails are very good and only thing that kept us there for the duration. When we left they took 15 minutes to find our jackets. Would recommend the bar downstairs for drinks only.

Low quality food - kofta tasted as if made with chemicals. Very average food but priced like a Michelin star restaurant. Atmosphere was like that of a fast food chain. Avoid

The store manager seems very friendly, but during desserts, he accidentally brought three desserts out instead of one, and when we told him about it, he said if we don’t like them, he’ll not charge them and he ended up charging them even if we didn’t touch two of them. Also consider that we had already made a £400 bill for a party of

Staff were too attentive, to the point it was annoying as they were coming to our table every 5-7 minutes for no reason. Food was overpriced, £7 for the Khakhra which was basically one poppadom broken up into 4/5 pieces. £32 for a chicken curry which wasn’t even enough for one person and had 3 small pieces of thigh meat in it. There are a lot better high end Indian restaurants nearby!

We finally got to experience Pahli Hill. Everything was first rate starting with the level of service from all of the staff, then moving onto the food which was perfectly presented and packed with flavour. The personal food suggestions from the staff were all spot on. I’ve already recommended Pahli Hill to quite a few people. A new personal favourite.

I was so excited to try Pahli Hill- unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. Starting with the good, the mango and apple cocktails were excellent (I would return for these) and our starters were rather good (pork shoulder and crab). Service was okay- some servers were better than others and there were times it took a while for anyone to come check on us. Sadly, the mains were disappointing. We had the dosa and the monkfish— the dosa was more like a starter than a main and the flavours were only okay, the monkfish tasted and smelled EXTREMELY fishy in a way I’ve never experienced monkfish taste. We were very sad because the meal did start off strong but at the high price point, it certainly wasn’t worth it for the average to below average mains.

The food was fantastic - really interesting flavours, cooked to perfection. We went for the Chef’s menu with paired wines, and the quality of the wine pairings was also exceptional. Huge thanks!

We visited on Saturday and sat at the Chefs table with the tasting menu. Absolutely perfect night. The food was incredible, and there was plenty! Avi gave us an overview of each dish as they arrived, and he was really friendly. The service was second to none, everyone was great. We also opted for the wine pairing which I'd recommend, the sommelier talked us through each pairing. Would definitely recommend.

Right, here we go ! Review of another Indian restaurant in the highly competitive central London area where there are already hundreds of restaurants serving good top Indian cuisine. Just keeping in mind that Gymkhana has recently been awarded 2 Michelin stars. So came here with very high expectations. I have to say overall I was disappointed. I come from New Delhi and hence the food has to be very good for me to really enjoy and like it. We ordered the squid to start and then followed it with Dal Makhni / Aubergine / Chargrilled Lamb / chicken curry. Everything was decent bearing in mind that chicken curry was £32/- and Lamb dish was £30/- plus. These are pretty expensive prices keeping in mind Dishoom serves a chicken curry for £16 and Dal for £8.90/- Overall the food is decent but in my opinion not as good as the other competitors serving Indian food in Mayfair area. I don’t want to name individual restaurants better than Pali Hill. The carrot Halwa with ice cream In desserts and as quite good and I enjoyed that. Meal for 2 was £169/- ( with 1 beer and 1 glass of wine ) Verdict - 4/5

Service was very nice, however food was very overpriced. Mango cocktail: 5/5 refreshing drink! Papadi Chaat: 3/5 very flavourful but nothing special Truffle kulcha: 1/5 greasy and too spicy, cannot taste the truffle at all and the dish didn’t really bring out the flavour of mushrooms… major disappointment Steamed seabass: 3/5 portion is SUPER small for a 32£ dish… it tasted good but it really wasn’t worth it Dosa: 2/5 again, 21£ is insanely overpriced for an ordinary dosa… there really was nothing special about it that makes it worth the price

Akash is South Asian food as it should be. A very knowledge co-owner both on food and cricket. Our go to place.

We arranged an early dinner. We were not greeted even though we had booked. A younger gentleman, not dressed in uniform He seemed to act as though he was above that., He delivered food with irritation and on payment. He rolled his eyes because my car briefly tapped in the wrong place. We were made to feel very unwelcome and the food with mediocre at best. I will not recommend this restaurant. Even though its location is very convenient and after business dinner

Absolut gutes indisches Essen.

Superb food and friendly staff, some of whom feel like family. We've been going for years and it's our go-to, always incredible dine-in/takeaway. We"re blessed that this gem of a restaurant is part of our community. Make it part of yours, too!
