This is the 3rd time we have visited this restaurant and each time on New Year’s Eve, we hadn’t booked but they were so accommodating. The service was exemplary, the food was so fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was just perfect. We highly recommend this z so eatery and look forward to visiting them again soon!

Fab food delivered . We phoned and requested some dishes not on the online menu and got some to be vegan. Very tasty and good sized portions. Generous seafood starter was excellent including salmon and prawns, very good king prawn tikka masala- not too sweet- and naan. I enjoyed vegan veg balti, tarka dhal (a bit salty, large pieces of garlic so tasty but could do with more spices) and chappatti. Delivery was around 40 minutes, lovely guy.

Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. Food was full of great authentic flavour, the service was amazing, very attentive and friendly. Lots of veggie options and chefs completely amenable to changing dishes. The starters were particularly good with the Prawn Puree being the best I've ever had. We visit often and would highly recommend it.

My family & I have been coming to this restaurant for about 6 years. After the covid pandemic, we visited in February this year & had a lovely meal & decided to visit again tonight. I booked a table for the 4 of us. The restaurant only has seating for about 30 people. Upon entering the restaurant, all we 6could hear was people being extremely loud! which turned out to be a table of 10 people, & nobody else in the restaurant at that time. My family & I sat down at a table for 4 people but quickly realised that this was not going to be the usual nice, & reasonably quiet experience as we have enjoyed in the past because of the "clientele" of the table for 10 people. We ordered our drinks & one of the waiters came over to us to basically apologise for the clientele but I asked him, if they were regular customers & if so. did they behave themselves whilst on the premises, & his rely was yes. Therefore my reply was, as long as that was the case then my family & I would stay. However what I did not know at that point was that they didn't really have any intention of eating, they only ordered a couple of starters & main courses between the 10 of them & that basically they'd only come to the restaurant to literally keep on ordering drinks & treat the place like pub much to my family & other customers that arrived ater on in the evening, unaware of the situation, & expecting a nice civilised relaxing meal. I do understand the restaurants predicament, as they obviously do not want to turn away business & the drinks that the table ordered probably came to more than any food order however it was clearly visible in the restaurant this evening that apart from that table of 10, every other customer was thinking exactly the same thing as my family & would probably think twice about coming back if this is the type of clientele the restaurant will encourage & allow, much to the detriment & subsequent loss of other customers. A real shame.

We have been there twice before a few years ago. We ordered two starters. One was the rather more expensive white bait which turned out to be a very small serving. The other, a prawn puri was average size and quite tasty. The main courses, vegetable side dish, pilau rice and keema nan were all reasonable sizes and tasted fine. The nan was however rather thick and hard though. They were quite busy with take away orders and only seven other people eating but the service was a little on the slow side.

What a fabulous restaurant this is , visited here Saturday evening with family. Great food and service , we ordered our food and in a short time it arrived the aromas from the food was amazing and it tasted delicious. During the evening we were never rushed at all and a pleasant time was had by everyone, we will certainly return when next in the area and good value for money.

The worst customer service that I’ve had before - had to wait over 2 hours for the order after they made the mistake of not printing it out, and then when I called to check how long it would be, the man I spoke to was rude, borderline shouting saying that if I wanted it I could come and get it myself (after paying for delivery), or it would be upwards of 45 minutes. Received a half hearted apology, and whilst I understand they may have been busy, I have worked in pubs before and you never speak to customers that way.

Best takeaway we have had for years. Delicious! We had Vegetable Dansack, Tarka Dhall and mixed veg starter. Plus popadums.

This was out 2nd visit to this restaurant - the 1st time we really enjoyed it. Not the case on this occasion. The food was edible and good portion sizes but it was not as delicious as we had the last time. Although the service was good it was a little slow. This was a Saturday so was busy but that should not be an excuse. I may try again in a year or so but not on a Saturday!

India Garden is a relatively small restaurant which has great food. Just off Wanstead High Street, you have to actively look to find it. You can see the lights outside so not too hard to find. The food is obviously Indian and quite superb. I am slowly working my way around their menu and trying new dishes I have been unaware of before. The food is that good, I am fine trying new dishes there. Service is very fast, the staff are attentive and friendly without being in your face. I would recommend the restaurant to everyone. A really nice meal, in a clean, comfortable and good atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

A group of us went last minute and were made to feel very welcome. The food was very good and everyone was happy including fussy people in our group. It took a little while arriving but I am sure that is because it was made properly and to order (tasted like it). We enjoyed chatting and had an excellent dining experience. I can't wait to go again.

I went along for a meal with an old friend. Initially the service was prompt and beers and pompadoms were served quickly. We ordered our meal and had to wait for over 45mins for it to arrive. The food was good and enjoyable. The restaurant was busy dealing with take away customers, so maybe this explained the delay in getting out meal.

Visited here late on a Sunday evening and sadly we were the only people there. This is not unusual for a Sunday as most people will eat earlier however we had been busy. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had a fish special and paneer. Both dishes were very tasty and the sauces freshly made. The naan bread was fluffy and flavoursome. Washed down with a bottle of house red which was also good. Now our favourite local Indian restaurant. We did not feel rushed despite it being late and us being the only customers there.

El personal entretuvo a nuestros niños y fue muy agradable. . . Fue una experiencia muy agradable y sabrosa. Lo recomendaría altamente y volveremos pronto.

Buscando un lugar para cenar un viernes por la noche con mi familia (2 adultos y 2 niños) nos encontramos con este encantador restaurante. El propietario nos recibió fuera y era muy acogedor. Fueron muy amables y amigables con nuestros hijos. La comida era muy sabrosa y nos quedamos impresionados con la selección. Algunos de nosotros somos veganos y no veganos y estuvimos extremadamente contentos con la selección. A mi hijo le encantó su primer plato de salmón, y me sorprendió ver los platos principales de quorn y paneer. Mi esposo estaba contento con su selección de no verduras y disfrutó los platos de verduras también. Todo fue una experiencia encantadora y seguramente volveremos.

Habíamos reservado una mesa en India Garden para un sábado por la noche y estábamos ansiosos por nuestra comida, pero desafortunadamente no se materializó. Al llegar, el único camarero de turno estaba en el proceso de tomar un pedido por teléfono, así que tuvimos que esperar hasta que se bajara el teléfono antes de sentarse. Cuando llegó el momento de mostrarnos a nuestra mesa, otra fiesta había aparecido y estaba claro por la compensación que eran regulares. Tuvimos tiempo suficiente para examinar el menú y habíamos decidido lo que queríamos, pero desafortunadamente el camarero tomó el pedido de la otra parte antes que el nuestro y cuando finalmente se acercó a nosotros, solo pudimos pedir algunos poppadoms y bebidas. Me hubiera parecido más eficiente tomar todo nuestro pedido y entregarlo al personal de la cocina que tal vez no haya estado bajo tanta presión como él claramente estaba. Sintió la necesidad de repartir algunos comentarios narky también que pensé que era innecesario, ya que no era culpa nuestra que estuviera haciendo el trabajo de dos o tres personas. Nos hicieron sentir como una irritación y una carga, así que decidimos que este no era el lugar para gastar nuestro dinero y nos marchamos. Hubiera sido agradable si nos hubiera explicado la situación y se hubiera disculpado o nos hubiera ofrecido algunos poppadoms complementarios como un pequeño gesto para compensar el servicio más lento de lo normal, pero en cambio nos pusimos groseros y resentidos. Así que, después de gastar un taxi en un viaje que nos llevó de Essex, nos subimos al metro y condescendimos en un restaurante indio en Leytonstone, por lo que no tuvimos que perder la noche.

Paid a visit to this restaurant for the first time yesterday evening. So impressed. Not only is the food exceptional but unbelievable value. My mutton main course was to die for. Nicely seasoned, tender and so enjoyable. Nice atmosphere, not overly crowded but clearly have their regulars. Very good service.

This is by far the WORST restaurant I have ever eaten in. Awful décor, lighting, a brick holds the door open! Food bland, tasteless and starter swimming in oil. Staff are scruffy and rude

We love the India Garden. small intimate and friendly great food and plenty of it. Staff always polite and we are always offered a free drink at the end of the evening. They do a fantastic offer on Wednesdays, its a bargain.Great value friendly place to go. Well worth a try

I came here with a friend in the evening and just another table was taken. I have driven past this place many times and it is normally empty, but anyway, we decided to give it a go.

Estábamos en camino a otro local India en la víspera de domingo cuando, para mi sorpresa, había bastante gente en el lugar, ya que pasamos. Me dijo que tenía algunas críticas recientes, había cambiado de manos, y dos chicos que iban en dicho que era genial, así que decidimos probarlo.

Mi esposa e hijos adultos comimos aquí ayer (sábado), y me complace ver que cada mesa estaba ocupada, que es testimonio de la excelente comida de calidad, siempre amable y cortés, y a precios razonables. Es nuestro favorito en el área de South Woodford Wanstead/. La comida es exactamente cómo debería ser Comida india gustos cada plato de los demás y realmente dieron una buena gama de sabores de compartir un Jalfrezi, Pollo Korma y ajo. Las raciones son buenas y nuestra noche fue rematado con una cortesía Bailey's y después de ochos. Si no has estado y que viven en la zona asegúrate de darle una oportunidad, está justo al lado de Wanstead High Street.

I cannot believe i have not gone in there all these years i live around the area. My partner one day decided that we should try this place in Jan 2018 and it has only been one and a half month since the first time, we have been there about 3 times already.

We randomly tried this place out as we have eaten in most of the restaurants in this area and...we fancied a curry. It was a real joy to discover this restaurant in one of the quieter streets of Wanstead High St. We had a fantastic greeting by the charming manager (this place exchanged hands two years ago and he was the perfect host). But it was the food that was a real surprise. Some lovely new additions including one chicken dish with beautifully battered potatoes which was a new one on me. I always am pleasantly suprised when the pickles tray has some new additions - and the tamarind sauce plus their corriander pickle was a joy. But the dishes in general were terrific and this will now become a regular haunt for us. Definitely to be recommended.

Ya que estábamos pasando la noche en el jardín de la India cerca de Unicorn pub estaba perfectamente situado a 50 metros de distancia.

Decidimos probar algo nuevo en Wanstead así vine aquí. El personal era muy amable y la comida era deliciosa. Tuve salmón chile con arroz verde - el arroz era delicioso. También tuve un naan peshwari.

En una calle tranquila, al lado de High Street, la India Wanstead Garden es un lugar nuevo merece la pena! Es un restaurante muy acogedor, con un personal amable, estrecha para sentarse y ropa de mesa de calidad en las mesas. El menú incluye platos estándar para restaurantes indios, además de una gran variedad de pescado, pollo y hígado inusual opciones vegetarianas. En mi experiencia, el thali vegetariano es ser totalmente recomendado (aunque las raciones eran demasiado - proporcionando una comida en casa al día siguiente! ).

This was not the first visit to here.The food selection really is imaginative. Drinks and top up drinks were served quickly but after the starters things slowed down a bit but it was still a nice visit.The starters were particularly good with prawn puree being the best I have had.Some of the mains I had never seen on a menu before so I had one of those and I was not disappointed. This is a nice restaurant with nice staff and I will go back.

I ordered a takeaway took 45 mins as they said good arrived hot and fresh I ordered tandoori king prawns and I was disappointed to be honest because there was one big one that had been cut up into small pieces well normally they come up in one big king prawn and you get 2 or 3 as for the rest of the food chicken tikka was flavoursome nann bread over done barjhi was good masala sauce good I'd go back definitely and give it another go

Food here was excellent, lots of choice and well made food in large portions. My partner and I are vegetarian and there was plenty of choices for us, not just boring vegetable curries as can sometimes be the case. Service was quick, attentive and friendly and the prices were very reasonable.

We have been going to this restaurant for a number of years (30 !) and have always have had a great welcome and eaten great food: The restaurant has recently been taken over by 'new management' which has not affected the warm welcome and great food we have always enjoyed - we highly recommend the Indian Garden for a really excellent experience, both in terms of the food and the staff. We have eaten at this restaurant before, but this time decided to order to delivered takeaway.The quality of the food was excellent, as previously when dining in.The main dishes are imaginative uses of ingredients, with the emphasis being on offering different blends of herbs, spices and vegetables and fruit. Lime features in some of the mains. They are also healthy tasting, and not starchy or leaving you bloated. If you like a curry with a kick, try the Naga range.The service is warm and friendly. Had the Chicken Jalfrezi and it was great. Hot, spicy and rich in texture. Highly recommended! Service was terrific also, friendly staff.

Apparently under new management in the last year ,we have visited twice recently and on both occasions rated it the best in the area. My partner is an exacting judge and was more than pleased with his chicken dish. I loved my dansak and there are some adventurous veg dishes available. Just off the main drag of Wanstead high street nasty neon sign outside but worth the detour. So pleased to have this locally - please keep up the high standards guys!

We were told this curry house was under new management and we thought that we would give it a try. The service was friendly and very welcoming.All of the dishes we ordered were excellent my wife particularly loved the chilli salmon dish. Very child friendly. We will be returning in the new year.

Myself and my partner visited this restaurant on NYE for a quiet meal as we were both under the weather but wanted to make the most of celebrating the New Year and absolutely everything about it was perfect. The food was fresh and beautiful, and the service was impeccable. We were both full to bursting and with alcohol it came to a very impressive £30. We will definitely be going back very soon.

Decided to try this place a few nights ago and we were very impressed. On Wednesday night they do a deal with a starter, main, side, rice or naan for around £10. We had mostly vegetarian options of which there were plenty - vegetable samosas, vegetable thali, jalfrezi, bombay potatoes, daal masala. It was all delicious and the only problem was that we could not eat it all - however, the waiter was very obliging in carefully packing all the leftovers so that we could have it for lunch the next day. All in all our meals and 2 drinks (a large beer and one wine) came to just under £30 - excellent value. We plan to return soon and would recommend.

We have been going to this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed- the previous owner has gone 'back home to India' and the place had been taken over by somebody who actually worked there 25 years ago - small world. The food has got better and the new owner is really making an effort to make a difference - sometimes it's busy sometimes not ( which is to do with the location) so don't let that put you off; you're be pleasantly surprised!

When called said they would try to locate the delivery. but failed to do so They did return the cost of the meal after a compliant and managed to get this to us in 30 minutes

We noticed this restaurant one week and thought that it might be nice to try it since we would be in the area for a few weeks. The restaurant was very quiet though, and we took that as a bad sign. We were wrong. The next week we went in and had a very delicious meal there.The restaurant was laid out nicely so that you aren't too close to other diners, however the tables are a little small so two of us in excess go six feet tall and as broad found there was clashing of elbows.The staff were friendly and smart and gave us plenty of time to ponder the menu which was rather refreshing as it included dishes I had not seen before. The menu also gave a description of the dish which is helpful. The dishes arrived hot and with plenty of meat for the carnivores among us, the portions were just right too. Enough is as good as a feast. I thought that my curry was delicious, one of my friends was a little disappointed saying that he thought it tasted burned, though I tasted it and had no objection to its flavour. Our third was happy with her vegetarian meal.I can't say what the desserts were like, because we were full enough to forego them - perhaps on our next visit. When the bill came we were nicely surprised at the cost. The meal was very good value for money. Though I believe we have been given a discount, so the normal price per head would in my estimation be about £20-£25 per head.Our visit cost us in the region of £15 per head.The restaurant was nicely decorated and looked clean and cared for. The linen looked news and was spotless. We are looking forward to going back.

The delivery time was ridiculous. I had to get into my car and look for the delivery driver who was apparently lost, when he was just a turning away. And apparently his tomtom didnt recognise three road names i gave him. Food went cold. Absolutely bland and tasteless. He even forgot to give the bottle of coke. Never order from here ever!

Order'd from here only a few days ago and the food was decent.. WOW what has gone wrong?! The lamb in the lamb madras was extremley tough and slimey?! the garlic chilli chicken lacked so much flavour & the chicken was tough. the tarka dhall was salty? very dissapointed, Won't be using again

Very good curry, decent portion sizes, couple of free poppodoms which is always a nice bonus, Only issue I have which is minor was some of the onion bhajies where slightly over cooked which made them abit dry, Other than that was a very enjoyable meal. Will use again.

lamb madras was lovely, no fat, and very tasty, rice was very nice as was the spicy naan. Would definitely order again. Delivery was 10 minutes early which was a bonus.

Delivery was on time if not early, delivery girl was friendly and polite and the food was delicious. One of the best indian takeaways I have come across.
