I had an unforgettable dining experience at The Cinnamon Club in London, hosted in their elegant private room. The evening was made even more special by the presence of founder Vivek Singh and his incredible team, who provided exceptional service throughout. The standout dish for me was the Bengali mustard and rice pop salmon ceviche — a beautiful blend of authentic, nostalgic flavors that instantly brought back memories of my grandmother’s kitchen in Bangladesh. The complexity and depth of the dishes were remarkable, each bite bursting with layers of spices and tradition. Truly a celebration of modern Indian cuisine with soulful, familiar notes.

Do not bother if you want to have good Indian food. Very nice location and great interior atmosphere. Aubergine starter (Spiced aubergine steak, pumpkin chutney, masala peanut and moutabal) is so overcooked and parchef. Knife couldn't get through skin and took forever to chew Lamb main course (Clove smoked saddle of Romney Marsh lamb, corn and yoghurt sauce, keema saag) was chewy. Sauce is salty Is this cooked by a chef? A novice can do a better job.

Definitely gone downhill since the last visit. weighting staff were great, but food bland. Was very rushed on a Saturday evening. Main course came out 37mins after sitting down at the table. It first came out while eating the starters. It needs a bit of a refurb as the walls and lights need a clean and touch-up. Empty Bar at 7pm and still had to go and find the bar tender to service us after waiting an age to be served. Not surprised it no longer has a Michelin star. That seems light years away.

We dined at the Cinnamon Club this afternoon and opted for the 3 course Jazz Lunch Menu. From the minute we stepped in every staff member was attentive, and the service was high quality start to finish. The portion sizes were good and the £45 per head menu had plenty of options and each packed a punch with their flavours. Special thanks for our server Akaba who explained each of the dishes with good knowledge, and took the time to talk about the history of the restaurant. Deffo be back again. To add to that the ambience and style of the venue has its own special weighting.

A shame to see what was once a great dining experience deteriorated. The food remains excellent, a unique presentation of Indian dishes but there have been changes which are very disappointing. We were very rushed throughout our meal, for example while our starters were being cleared the waiter was already at our table with our main courses. No time to relax and digest the first course. The wine pricing is now outrageous, £120 for a mediocre red is not acceptable. Finally the lavatory was dirty and had not be cleaned for some time. We will not be returning.

A bit average for prices charged. Booked to have a drink in the downstairs bar, but on arrival, told it was reserved for a party so we were seated in the sidebar which basically looks like a library and has no vibe at all. The service and cocktails were excellent. The starters came and they were merely luke warm so we requested for food to be hot for the main course. The meat Eaters were happier with their courses, but the vegetarian and seafood food was fairly blande. Service was attentive. It is fairly peaceful, thankfully no loud music, but later in the evening as it got fuller, it got louder. On the way out we noted only one or two Asian faces - definitely a place more for the western palate. Overall, all agreed it was a bit average and not really worth the price premium when for a similar price you can go to Jamavar or Amaya which are sensational in terms of food, ambience, and service.

a "tasting menu" experience largely ruined by 2 waitresses clearly not interested in their task despite a restaurant far from being full. the courses come out of the kitchen and return there because you are still in the middle of the previous one, a forgotten but well needed spoon to bring the butter chicken to your plate, a laconic "your dessert" while placing a plate on the table before fleeing, disappearance of all forms of courtesy once your £250 has been cashed. add in toilets (and their sign "report problems encountered here") which absolutely do not smell fresh. MORE AT TheFork

Sequestered in the former home of the old Westminster Library, just around the corner from Parliament and the Abbey, the Cinnamon Club isn’t all that easy to find (there is no exterior sign pinpointing the restaurant’s location). However, if you enjoy fine Indian cuisine, it is definitely worth the effort. Enthusiastically endorsed by several friends who had previously dined here, it seemed the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch following our visit to Westminster Abbey. As you may observe from the photograph, evidences of the previous occupant are very much in evidence – which only added to our enjoyment – but it was the outstanding quality and presentation of the cuisine that clearly placed this restaurant in a class by itself. We both decided upon the three-course menu priced at 35 pounds per person (plus beverages, tax & gratuity). My dining partner began with the Masala Corn Kebabs, Corn and Ginger Soup (pictured); I opted for the Chicken Seekh Tawa Masala (minced chicken in a spicy sauce) with Sheermal Bread (saffron-flavored traditional flatbread). Entrées presented us with several intriguing possibilities… The Chettinadu-Style Duck Leg Curry with Pilau Rice (characterized by a variety of dark spices) sounded very interesting - especially to my dining partner who always enjoys this particular fowl – but was ultimately dismissed as a bit too over-the-top for lunch. We both were quite tempted by the Pan-Seared Pollock Fillet (similar to cod), Yellow Lentils with Coconut, Bitter Melon Chutney, but somehow just weren’t in the mood for fish. The Kadhai Vegetables (made in a kadai, Indian wok, this dish is a medley of onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other assorted vegetables combined with spices and cream) certainly appealed to me, but… The bottom line: We both choose the Cauliflower & Berkswell Cheese Parcel (similar in flavor to Pecorino & Manchego), Tomato Fenugreek Sauce (pictured), which was absolutely delicious. Desserts, which are generally not given a second thought in most Indian restaurants, were just as up to the mark as their predecessors. My dining partner’s Royal Malai Kulfi presented with caramelized quinoa and raspberry crisp, for example, was excellent. Malai Kulfi is basically considered Indian ice cream, although it is somewhat denser in texture, similar to that of frozen custard. But even better, in my opinion, was the extraordinarily delicious – and photogenic – Mango Meringue Tart with spiced puffed rice and smoked berry sorbet (pictured).

Great service, amazing food but it is my opinion that the restaurant should’ve put some music as you could hear every conversation on each table at once, the room had too much white light and could’ve done with a red/amber lighting to help the ambiance. The quantity of tables as well made the beautiful large room seem cramped and not well used, we were pushed against a column, I would’ve reduced the number of tables by 1/4 and spaced them out. I’m purely sharing just to voice my opinion but I am nitpicking. This restaurant is amazing and I strongly suggest it to everyone.

MORE AT TheFork

We were recommended this restaurant by an acquaintance of one of the owners. The service was embarrassingly bad. I gave it two stars as the food was good. It started off with one of the oddest service encounters I have ever had dinning out. Our reservations were 7:00. We arrived at 6:55. We were told that our reservations were at 8:00 and we would have to wait in the bar. As my wife started pulling up our open table reservations, they sent us an email stating that they changed our reservations were 8:00. This is documented in emails. We decided to wait in front. The hostesses were snotty about it and sat us in ten minutes. We got the wobbly table in the corner. This table should have been removed and is not suitable even in a coffee shop. The waiter was condescending in what my wife ordered. He tried to up sell her in the specials, and she pointed out that she does not eat what he suggested. He was not happy about it. When I asked what kind of alcohol was in a house drink, he did not know. He did come back with a bottle later to show me. At one point the table on our left and the three other tables to our right were all trying to get anyone to come over. Both tables next to us were done with no food and could not get a bill. Another table a few over had the bill and started tapping his credit card on a glass trying to get a waiter. Both our table and the one just over had no water, the other table was trying to get a chiller for his wine and water. It was brutal trying to get anyone over. Then there were other small items. We had naan bread. It was crispy so there were crumbs all over from eating, not a big deal, they did not clean up until we were about to leave. At one point my wife was bumped in the back very hard by one of the servers while they started setting up the table next to us. Nothing was said by the server. As said in other reviews the waiter was very pushy for a tip. We did leave one. My wife was surprised at how low the bill was. Then I reminded her that we were going to order another starter, another drink and more water. About 60 pounds more in orders that were could not get in due to the poor service. At least this place will be memorable from our trip. The person that recommended it asked the next day how it was and was mortified about our experience. At least it was worth a laugh. We went there for my mum's celebrations of her graduation, and we were treated absolutely impeccable. The food was great, drinks were good, and the whole experience was high quality. It was truly a great time and the venue is so beautiful as well. 10/10

We went to the Cinnamon Club for my husband's birthday. We did the Jazz Brunch. It was a beautiful brunch, and each dish was phenomenal. We both were most impressed with our two starters, which included one jackfruit and the other okra. Our waiter didn't miss a beat! I highly recommend it.

Yes, it is an Indian food restaurant. No, it is not the typical one. It is a fusion restaurant with great level of surprises. All I can say, it was fantastic! The Tanduri chicken was probably the best I've ever had. The location is in an old library. You won't regret it!

Food was delicious and worth the price. The only thing that was missing was the service since they left us waiting at some points to be attended.

One of the most charming and delicious Indian restaurants at which I've eaten. It's located in an old library but it's anything but stuffy. There's even a gin and tonic cart that comes around to make you a drink if you want. Might be a little creepy colonial or a unique novelty depending on your perspective. I chose a beer instead but they have an exhaustive wine list. Service is on point and professional as befits a restaurant of this caliber. I had a delicious spicy chicken breast for my main but the tandoori bread basket was the star. Don't miss that. The place is a little hard to find on a quiet street with no obvious signage (a plaque with the name is hidden on the side of the door) so use Google maps. It's a bit of a walk from nearest tube.

This place is so cool and not overrated. Service was great. The shahi paneer was one of the most delicious bites of food I’ve ever had. The vibe was cool in an old library.

I have always wanted to visit this restaurant as Vivek Singh is one of my culinary hero's. It did not disappoint, the food was delicious. It made for a very memorable 71st birthday. The restaurant is in the old Westminster Library. So has a unique interior and ambiance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is an excellent wine list and they had a couple of craft beers as well.

Rude and repulsive maitre. 5 starters and 3 mains tasted just equally hot and mediocre. Impersonal staff. Hygiene below average.

Dishoom Covent Garden proved to be an amazing experience. I celebrated my birthday with family and friends, and I can't think of a better choice of restaurants. The service was light hearted and friendly, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable.

Candlelight atmosphere. Service was ok. The menu is short but extensive. Every dish was well prepared, flavourful and tasty. Wine glasses should perhaps be updated and the spicy dishes pointed out on the menu.
