While the food was excellent and the rest of the staff were kind, helpful, and attentive, our experience was unfortunately marred by the sommelier’s attitude. His passive-aggressive comments and demeanor felt unnecessarily curt and detracted from what could have been a wonderful evening. It’s a shame, as the rest of the team created such a welcoming atmosphere.

A “fancy” Indian in the city. Menu was good, portion sizes medium, don’t expect the usual portion size for Indian. I enjoyed the food - everything that we ordered was good. Drinks menu also good. It was quite busy so service felt a little slow when clearing tables, or taking drinks order. At the price paid I would expect more attentive service. It’s got a nice atmosphere in the library, nice place for food. Close to all the Westminster sites.

I visited Cinnamon Club in Westminster for an office Christmas lunch in early December. Although they didn’t offer a festive menu at the time, their Indian-inspired menu had an interesting selection of starters, main dishes and desserts. We had the option to choose individual dishes or opt for a three-course set menu, which turned out to be the better value. As a pleasant surprise, we were served a complimentary small finger starter to begin the meal. For my starter, I chose the fish cake, which was flavorful and well-prepared. My main course was the jackfruit stew. While it was a creative dish and generally enjoyable, I found the coconut flavor a bit overpowering for my taste. Nonetheless, the overall quality of the food was great, and everything was served promptly. The ambiance of Cinnamon Club is a comfortable, speakeasy-style setting that adds a unique charm to the dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Pricing felt reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. I had a good experience overall and would return to explore other items on their menu. If you’re looking for a place that serves Indian cuisine with a sophisticated twist, Cinnamon Club is worth a visit.

Went for the Christmas menu @ £125 each. Thought the food was pretty disappointing, some interesting combos that unfortunately just didn't seem to gel. Food was not always hot. Some dishes were better than others but given the price expected a lot more. Had better at local restaurants at a fraction of the price. Service was okay but felt staff could've been more attentive and warmer.

Great Food in a brilliant venue. We had the festive menu - which had partridge and lamb chops as highlights and a brilliant tiger prawn dish aswell. Somebody at my table got the wine pairing which I thought was nice - however I am no connoisseur! Generally the food was fantastic with the exact right level of spice and fantastic flavours overall - the courses were all delicious and the meats were all cooked perfectly - i.e super juicy and fresh. The cocktail at the bar underneath the main hall was great and they delivered me a cake and a card to celebrate my 18th! Service was fantastic of course, as to be expected.

Visited the venue a few years ago and thought I’d do another visit but what a big mistake! Arrived early and had a cocktail (mmm which was very good) however the server wasn’t interested at all - it felt like we were doing him a favor. Bar nuts, no tissues - drinks not coasters. It all felt a little amateur brick lane ish. Moving to the dining room seated at a wobbly table. Stood up to get our servers attention (a common theme throughout the meal) Complementary bites lovely but had to call the server to explain it to us. Our dining room server throughout the meal treated us with quite a lot of contempt. Refused to repeat orders and made the meal difficult. At the moment of writing we are waiting for our starters and I’d better end this review now before I go into more details.

We booked the Cinnamon Club to celebrate a special event on Sunday 22 December. My husband made a special visit there a week or so before the event to check it and spoke to the manager. He explained we would be coming after a concert and was assured that the timing was fine. On the night, only a few hours before we were due to get there the restaurant rang and cancelled the booking, saying they were closing early. It was then too late to find anywhere else and our evening was ruined. This is very poor unprofessional conduct and I would certainly not risk booking here again.

For most of my life, I have had an attraction to India and Indian food in all its forms. Whilst I can equally enjoy the cuisine of our local Indian and the trendy Indian “fusion” restaurants, my heart lies with the food from the Country of India itself. Whilst all our familiar high street restaurants produce some wonderful cuisine, many of them tend to emanate from Bangladesh and Pakistan. In my experience, the minority come from India itself. It is a big country with and wide cultural and culinary experience and yet, there is something about this country that makes their food different to their neighbours and our familiar high street experiences. The Cinnamon kitchen seems to encapsulate all things Indian and I was mightily impressed with the dishes on offer in their menu. There are elements of fusion in the menu but tradition is at the heart of the food and it is delicious. All the familiar spices can be discerned even though they are presented in innovative ways and combinations. The setting is a little bizarre being an old library and your bill comes in a book! It works though, and with the friendly and helpful staff, it all adds up to a really nice experience. It comes at a price though and it is expensive at every level. If I have a minor issue, it was that the service was not attentive enough. The food came out of the kitchen quick enough, so no complaints there, but we were left alone for long periods when we needed some service. In fact, for long periods there were no servers in the restaurant at all that I could see. Notwithstanding, these were not matters that spoiled my experience and I enjoyed my visit very much indeed.

Tasty food but most of it was lukewarm. If you only offer a few side dishes then you need to make sure they are available always, having items unavailable on such a small menu isn’t acceptable. The service was not up to the standard of such an establishment either. We won’t be rushing back that’s for sure.

The Cinnamon Club is a true gem in London’s dining scene, offering an exceptional culinary experience that blends Indian flavors with fine dining finesse. Our recent visit was nothing short of outstanding, and it has solidified its place as a regular family favorite. The setting is elegant yet welcoming, with its unique location in a former library adding an extra touch of charm. The menu is thoughtfully curated, showcasing a range of innovative dishes that stay true to their Indian roots while incorporating modern techniques. A special mention goes to Shakel, our waiter for the evening, who truly elevated our experience. His attentive service, warm demeanor, and in-depth knowledge of the menu made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the meal. He went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, from recommending dishes to accommodating our preferences seamlessly. The food itself was nothing short of spectacular. The Cinnamon Club: A Love Letter to an Institution Walking into The Cinnamon Club after a decade-long hiatus felt like reconnecting with an old friend who has only grown wiser and more refined over the years. Nestled in the dignified grandeur of the former Westminster Library, this iconic institution remains a beacon of sophistication and innovation in Indian cuisine—a testament to the vision of Iqbal Wahhab and the culinary brilliance of Vivek Singh. It is impossible to overstate the role Iqbal played in shaping The Cinnamon Club. Without his bold vision, there would be no Cinnamon Club to speak of, and perhaps no movement to elevate Indian cuisine to the heights of fine dining. When it first opened its doors in 2001, it was a revolutionary concept: an Indian restaurant that fused culinary excellence with the elegance of a library steeped in history. Iqbal’s entrepreneurial spirit and fearless ambition provided the foundation for what would become a landmark institution, paving the way for Indian food to claim its rightful place among the world’s great cuisines. Iqbal later went on to innovate elsewhere, most notably with the creation of Roast in Borough Market, but his original vision laid the groundwork for The Cinnamon Club’s success. Meanwhile, Vivek Singh, who has remained at the helm, has ensured that the restaurant continues to thrive, evolve, and inspire. Vivek has taken Iqbal’s dream and turned it into a lasting legacy. With his unparalleled skill and dedication, Vivek has transformed the idea of “curry,” elevating it to a culinary art form. His menus are masterpieces, marrying tradition with creativity in ways that continue to surprise and delight. The location itself is part of its magic. The lofty ceilings, oak-paneled walls, and rows of leather-bound books create an atmosphere of hushed reverence—a perfect marriage of history and modernity. Dining here feels like stepping into a parallel world where time slows down, and every bite is an invitation to reflect on the alchemy of flavor and tradition. And then there’s the service—a masterpiece in its own right. The staff at The Cinnamon Club seem to embody the same philosophy as the cuisine: warm, deeply knowledgeable, and effortlessly refined. There’s a love for their craft that shines in every interaction, from the thoughtful wine pairings to the way they describe each dish with reverence and precision. They are hosts in the truest sense of the word, and their care turns every meal into a celebration of hospitality. Returning after a decade, I feared time might have dulled its edge or that my memory had romanticized the experience. But I was wrong. The Cinnamon Club remains as vital and vibrant as ever, a cultural touchstone in a city that moves relentlessly forward. It is not just a restaurant; it is a chronicle of how Indian cuisine has been embraced and reimagined in the heart of London. Under Vivek Singh’s enduring leadership, The Cinnamon Club continues to inspire not just diners but also chefs and restaurateurs who seek to follow its pioneering spirit. It is more than a meal—it’s a reminder of what happens when tradition and innovation meet with boundless ambition. London’s culinary capital owes much to this beloved institution, and so do I.

I had an unforgettable dining experience at The Cinnamon Club in London, hosted in their elegant private room. The evening was made even more special by the presence of founder Vivek Singh and his incredible team, who provided exceptional service throughout. The standout dish for me was the Bengali mustard and rice pop salmon ceviche — a beautiful blend of authentic, nostalgic flavors that instantly brought back memories of my grandmother’s kitchen in Bangladesh. Aubergine starter (Spiced aubergine steak, pumpkin chutney, masala peanut and moutabal) is so overcooked and parchef. It first came out while eating the starters. It needs a bit of a refurb as the walls and lights need a clean and touch-up. Empty Bar at 7pm and still had to go and find the bar tender to service us after waiting an age to be served. Not surprised it no longer has a Michelin star. That seems light years away.

A shame to see what was once a great dining experience deteriorated. The food remains excellent, a unique presentation of Indian dishes but there have been changes which are very disappointing. We were very rushed throughout our meal, for example while our starters were being cleared the waiter was already at our table with our main courses. No time to relax and digest the first course. The wine pricing is now outrageous, £120 for a mediocre red is not acceptable. Finally the lavatory was dirty and had not be cleaned for some time. We will not be returning.

It’s a lovely space, and our waitress was kind and attentive (unlike the sommelier, who looked like she’d rather be anywhere else on earth). But the food was perfunctory - the quality has dropped sadly over time (it used to be genuinely innovative) - and the ‘wine pairing’ was an arbitrary selection from the wines-by-the-glass list, selected for price, not connection with the food. The ‘ambience’ is truly appalling: if you want to sit next to tables of obnoxious rich people getting drunk loudly and consciously intruding on their neighbours, this is the place for you. It’s a real pity, because if you wind back seven or eight years it was all very different. Now the place just wants your money. Avoid.

A bit average for prices charged. Booked to have a drink in the downstairs bar, but on arrival, told it was reserved for a party so we were seated in the sidebar which basically looks like a library and has no vibe at all. The service and cocktails were excellent. The starters came and they were merely luke warm so we requested for food to be hot for the main course. The meat Eaters were happier with their courses, but the vegetarian and seafood food was fairly blande. Service was attentive. It is fairly peaceful, thankfully no loud music, but later in the evening as it got fuller, it got louder. On the way out we noted only one or two Asian faces - definitely a place more for the western palate. Overall, all agreed it was a bit average and not really worth the price premium when for a similar price you can go to Jamavar or Amaya which are sensational in terms of food, ambience, and service.

The food was very innovative and tasty. Service was excellent. I brought my father who said the food was better than you can get in India itself.

Exceptional food and service! Interesting location in the Old Westminster Library (the door can be easy to miss). High end Indian cuisine that was unique, inventive, and well-executed.

The most incredible food with delicate yet epic flavours. Nothing compares to the ambience and quality of everything they serve. A must do if you love Indian food in a wonderful traditional restaurant.

Good food specially the jackfruit and lotus stem cutlets. However, an Indian restaurant using the wrong map of India is glaring error. Hopefully, it was a mistake not malice driving this

I’m sorry but it was truly dreadful. My prawns and noodles were way too salty. My friend’s pork belly was inedible. It’s very expensive . It took an hour and a half for main course to arrive . They have taken European food and tried to slap an Indian twist to it . It doesn’t work . So disappointing.

A delicious lunch. Thoughtful service and a great room. I hadn’t been for a few years. I’m now regretting the absence.

Amazing setting in the old Westminster Library, the food was layered with flavours, with plenty of attentive staff. The food was good value, however the wine was overpriced and looking around many tables weren't drinking it...

This is the 3rd time we have visited this restaurant and each time on New Year’s Eve, we hadn’t booked but they were so accommodating. The service was exemplary, the food was so fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was just perfect. We highly recommend this z so eatery and look forward to visiting them again soon!

I don't want to give bad reviews to this restaurant but i went yesterday 13/11/2025 I ordered 4 chicken tikka roll and 1 shami kebaab roll but they gave me 3 chicken tikka roll and 2 shami kebaab roll and moreover in chicken tikka roll packet they specified it (they wrote) that there is chicken tikka roll inside but I received from that packet 1 chicken roll and 1 shami kebaab roll that was really unexpected..they should deliver the order carefully
