Everest Spice in Plymouth

First time visiting, a relaxed and chilled under ground level restaurant. Food was nice and hot, well seasoned and delicious! Nice and quiet place to enjoy some peace and the company you take with you.

Excellent service, the food was tasty and hot. A great selection to opt for from their menu, with an additional drinks menu. Good pricing ranges through their whole menu. We didn't book in advance and they still happily accommodated us.

Compulsory consumption. We were very disappointed. He said that it was not allowed to have only drinks and appetizers. This is not a bar~

The food at Everest Spice is absolute quality and tastes incredible. A nice, pleasant atmosphere with traditional Nepalese music humming in the background really set the tone for the evening. The service was spectacular and the overall experience was amazing. I would definitely go again!

Lovely visit to Everest Spice, whilst staying for a weekend in Plymouth. The welcome was warm and the food excellent, particularly the wonderful Everest Chilli Chicken. The manager even took time to tell us a little about Nepal. Would highly recommend this great restaurant!

The food was very tasty, there was a diverse selection of Indian and Nepalese dishes on the menu. Inconspicuous from the outside but a real insider tip. We liked and enjoyed it.

Visited here after dropping my son to uni , visited at 9.30pm which was late and they still made us feel very welcome ! Food was tasty lots flavour , definitely recommend garlic chilli chicken got a kick! Rice fluffy and lots of flavour. Staff attentive but not over the top . Old fashioned but feels authentic, will be a regular visit when I'm back in Plymouth. 💫

Overall really nice Indian meal. Decor could do with modernisation, but the food and service were really good with us having both mild and spicy dishes between us. Naan particularly nice, would recommend.

We stayed in Plymouth for 6 nights and visited this restaurant three times. Don't judge a book by its cover! Very, very tasty. We ate something different every time we visited, there was plenty to choose from! The staff is very friendly and helpful. On our first two visits we were surprised why it was so quiet. On the third visit all the tables were occupied!!! If we ever come back to Plymouth we will eat there again.

Disappointed dinner!!! We recently visited this restaurant for dinner and were unfortunately disappointed with several aspects of our experience. First, the ambience was lacking. Being located in a basement with poor hygiene definitely impacted the overall dining experience. Additionally, the portion sizes for the Chilli Paneer and Egg Fried Rice were small compared to the price, and the taste of the food wasn't what we expected. Furthermore, the service wasn't attentive. We felt the waiters struggled to understand our requests and weren't very responsive to our needs. Overall, our visit fell short of our expectations.

First time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was lovely all freshly cooked and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Try the Everest starter/platter very nice. Also they can down the chilli if you dont like it too hot. I am looking forward to our next visit well worth a trip

Tried this restaurant last night, it was lovely the food was freshly cooked. Service was spot on and the staff really friendly. They will cater to your spice needs, if like my wife, you dont like the food too spicy. Need to try the Everest starter/plater very nice. Well worth a visit. We will be going there again

A quiet restaurant serving good Nepalese and Indian food. Prompt and friendly service. Our first night I had the sample starter plate and garlic naan. It was all good, so we returned the next evening and I had the lamb tikki masala, with rice and naan. Everest Spice is just two blocks from The Hoe. Recommended.

Nice little restaurant we discovered whilst staying at a nearby hotel. We ordered Napalese Butter Chicken, Chicken Bhuna, mushroom rice & garlic nan. Quick service and wonderful food. Highly recommended, friendly restaurant. 5 stars.

We booked ahead and the service and food was great, nice Nepalese variations as well as the usual favourites.

We traveled 300 miles for work, ordered a takeaway on JustEat, Unfortunately they did not deliver, the restaurant were amazing in helping me get my refund, reordered the food and it was wonderful, we visited twice in 3 nights! Looking forward to coming again 👍👍 Craig Lincoln.

We were looking for a place eat close to where we were staying and went to Everest Spice. It was very good, good food and great staff.

Still my favourite restaurant in Plymouth. Come here at least once every couple of weeks. Never had a bad curry and, yes, it appears a little tired and the steps are a thing, but don’t be fooled. The food is great and the guys are quiet but friendly. Highly recommended.

Great venue, great food and reasonable. One of the best Indian meals I have had in Plymouth. The service is good with friendly staff and the restaurant is cosy. The only downside is access down steep, narrow, red tiled steps to the basement. It access very difficult for anyone who is elderly or has difficulty walking or going down steps. It’s a shame as I would love to be able to take my father here to sample the cuisine.

Found this small restaurant on Google, looking for an easy evening meal whilst staying at a hotel nearby. It is in a basement down some steps. Limited phone signal, but they offer free WiFi. Very nice chicken tikka and sag aloo.

Best curry I’ve had in Plymouth. May sound a bit of a bold statement, but I’ve tried an awful lot of curry houses and this is the best in terms of the food. No it’s not wheelchair friendly (it’s down a flight of steps), yes the toilets are a bit rustic, ok the portions aren’t the biggest, but if it’s flavour and quality you’re after, you simply can’t beat it. Also very friendly and attentive service. Looking forward to going again soon!

Some of the food served to us tonight was cold and had to be returned to be heated. No pudding a available other then ice cream. (They are missing a trick there as they would have potentially made another £80 out of our group) Food was tasty but service not very attentive. Wouldn't go again 😔

Lovely out of the way restaurant where we were made very welcome. Cosy interior, excellent food and definitely worth a trip away from the City Centre to find this place. Would have given a *5* but as mentioned previously the portions were on the small side.

Been here a couple of times now with friend’s and it is hands down the tastiest Indian / Nepalese I’ve ever had couldn’t recommend more. Only problem is it is quite expensive for the portion sizes.

Over priced and small portions. Momo was good, prawn biriyani only had 3 prawns in it and was half the portion sized I expected considering it was £15.

I dont normally do reviews but I felt I must share share my experience at this place. To start with such a lovely setting and just nicely off the main road through plymouth. Staff so friendly and attentive even though it was busy. Food was piping hot and the curries were amazing. Cant wait to go back there.

Have been to a lot of Nepalese / Indian restaurants and this one is average at best. The service we received was awful. We had to remind the waiters on multiple occasions that we were still waiting for our drinks. Think the waiters were going to bring the poppadoms with the main meal… had to request the poppadoms to be delivered to the table. Not the best experience. Never seen a green daal… but there’s always a first and wasn’t very tasty either. Overall, a poor experience.

Booked a table on their online site for 10.15pm. They claim to be open until 11pm!!! Just survived a 12 hour journey after burying my mother. Pouring with rain!! I'm on crutches. We hobbled there from our hotel, post traumatic coach journey to find it in darkness!! We knocked & were told, "We're closed"!!! Left in tears!! Honest opinion, Don't bother!!!! :(

Nice little place serving a reasonably good curry. Dahl was good and Aloo was made with fresh spinach. All was nicely seasoned. Only negative was the Naan served cut up into neat triangles, I like mine served whole so I can tear off what I want!

Unfortunately I never got the chance. Filled out the online booking also called them 6 times. Left voice call 3 times but to no avail. They did not call back or acknowledge my online booking. It was our wedding anniversary and really wanted to go here but they couldn't be bothered to reply. I'm sure it's a great restaurant with great food as friend of mine recommended itbut it didn't work out. Maybe something they should work on. Shame.

Excellent quality food at reasonable prices.

Another review, last reviewed back in May 2017 and I rated it 5 Stars then and I won't be changing it now, this time a went for the Chicken Shashlik with Mushroom Rice and Garlic Nann, service was quick, staff friendly. Don't let the dated 1970s decor put you off, it might not look the part from outside nor inside but trust me you'll enjoy the food.. Highly recommended if in Plymouth..

Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. We were lucky, only 5 min walk from our hotel and we pre-booked. It was at capacity but the service was still exvellent. This was probably the best meal I've ever had. Lamb Choila was divine as a starter. Can't recommend enough.
