Far and away the worst curry house I have ever been too. Myself and my family waited over 2 hours for food once it arrived, several of the currys were that of a standard you would get for your microwave, warm, watery and flavourless. The staffs attitude and behaviour was disrespectful, rude and had a complete lack of integrity for the poor service. This place should be shut down let alone be able to still recieve reviews. Avoid at all costs and get yourself a microwave curry, it would be to a better standard.

We came across this restaurant by accident really, we needed some food fairly quickly, it was nearby to where we were staying in Sutton Marina. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but soon filled up. We were welcomed warmly and given the menu, it looked pretty good - as it was getting late we decided not to have a ‘big blow out’ session, I had the king prawn biriani and my husband a lamb dish and rice - both were superb and of highly quality. We had a lovely chat with the waiter afterwards. As a previous review says, this is a hidden gem of a restaurant which we will be most definitely visiting again when we come back to Plymouth.

I’ve lived in Plymouth for years but never been here until this month as it looks a bit shabby from the outside and there are plenty of Indian restaurants in the city. I am so glad I visited though as the inside is lovely, the staff are fantastic and the food is amazing. Their poppadoms are the best I have ever had, and I’m over 50. If you fancy a curry then consider coming here, you won’t be disappointed and it’s very close to the bars of the Barbican and City Centre.

GO INSIDE! from the outside this restaurant does not look anything special. However, we overlooked this and we are very glad that we did. Everything about this restaurant was excellent, the service from the waiting staff was friendly but not intrusive and the food was absolutely amazing, tasty and of a high standard. Extremely good value for money. A lovely end to a day spent in Plymouth, we would definitely come here again when visiting the city.

Had a fantastic takeaway meal here. I love Indian food, but the owner suggested I try a Nepalese dish. I told him that my favorite Indian dish is Madras and he chose something he thought I would like. It was superb and probably one of the best Asian meals I have had. I just wish I could remember the name of the dish.

Couple of times I have ordered food online (Home delivery) and liked the taste so wanted to explore dine in and experience it which happend Yesterday. 1. Ambiance of the Restaurant is very decent 2. Hospitality is great ( Ajay was the one who has helped us and he's very polite friendly and he understands what customers need) 3. Plenty of options in the menu as I am a vegetarian I had Limited option but the food was lip-smacking. 4. Very Resonable & competitive rates. 5. A great option for Asians especially Indians/Pakistanis/ bangaladeshi/Nepalese & Srilankans. it's hardly 10 mins walk from Drake Circus and if your travelling by car, there's a paid parking too. overall the experience was great and I would recommend this hotel for sure.

Bit of a mixed bag tonight. I travel around the country and enjoy visiting a wide range of Indian restaurants almost every week. I've been enjoying the cuisine for over 30 years so maybe I'm a bit spoilt but here goes. The "spicy popadoms" were OK taste-wise but not warm, and exactly the same size, shape and texture as what you'd get from a pack of 6 or 8 in the supermarket from Sharwood's / Pataks (other brands available). I would suggest they were. Not a good start. I enjoy a "keema paratha" with my main course, although I'm yet to find an Indian restaurant to match "Laxmi" from Birmingham, and latterly Huddersfield, and whilst not on the printed menu, I've always asked and been served with reasonable attempts. To be given a flat "no" to this request worried me even more - do / can they actually cook anything here ?? The mixed starter was just that - the shish and chicken kebabs were as moist and tender as I've had, but the chicken kebab was bland and the lamb kebab a little tough. Despite the lack of paratha, the Chicken Achari saved the day. Presented on the same plate as the pillau rice (saves washing up a bit I guess), the meat was really tender, plenty of it, in a really rich and tasty sauce - the meat / sauce / rice ratio was pretty much spot on. Service was friendly and efficient but with so many better experiences overall to compare with it's a 5/10 from me.

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I was left very disappointed. The Korma, was watery and lacked the classic coconut and cashew flavour. Chicken Sagg, was okay (not the best ived had). Again very watery, more flavour than the korma, but not that much. The chicken in both of these curries were dry and chewy. The portion sizes were good for the curries. I can’t say the same for the rice and the chips though.

However if you want excellent quality food then the wait is so worth it. We had poppadoms and pickles whilst we waited for our mains. Seven of us made our fist visit here for a curry night with friends. The menu has so many options that it took us a while to decide what to order. We all had something different. I had the staff lamb curry which was excellent - one of the best lamb curries I ever had. Another of us had the chow mein which he polished off and clearly enjoyed, one thought his chicken was a bit hot but the staff were happy to bring extra yoghurt which did the trick for him. The dumplings looked great and we had a good evening. I'll be going back - there's so much to try and with so many combinations of spices, another experience waiting to be had.

Pickle tray was incomplete - only 2 of 4 flavours supplied in 3 pots - 2 mint + 1 other (not sure it is was lime/onion/mango) . Both were too spiced. Onion bhajis burnt on outside and raw paste in middle. No yoghurt mint sauce supplied with bhajis - mint sauce in pickle tray was not nice either. Chicken jalfrezi dish only 3/4 full, tasted OK but sauce very thin. Chicken Masala - chicken pieces too spiced and sauce not tasting much of cream and almond. Hey food lovers and flavor chasers! 🍴 Took a tasty trip down to this Nepali spot in Plymouth Barbican with my better half, and let me tell ya, it was a flavor ride worth every bite! If you've never had Nepali cuisine, or even if you're a seasoned vet, this place is a must-try. We dove into the Sheesh Kabab and the staff chicken curry. Oh boy, talk about a flavor explosion. Every bite felt like it was crafted with love and had that authentic Nepali local taste. It's not every day you find a place that gets it so spot on. Chilling with my wife, soaking in the vibes, and munching on some top-tier food - it was one of those evenings that just felt right. The whole place has this warm, welcoming aura, making it the perfect spot for date night or just a casual meal. The food was okay, it wasn’t anything special, but the portion size was quite small for the price. The Nepali spicy potatoes were the best thing we ordered. These were really good, but again portion size small for £6 something. The veggie momo wasn’t great, especially at £8 something for what is essentially some dumplings. The curry we ordered was pretty tasteless and the rice was average. The potato and onion naan was nice, but nothing amazing. Overall, we wouldn’t order or visit here again.

I recently dined at Pahuna Indian & Nepalese Cuisine, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointed. Several aspects of the visit left me quite disappointed and questioning the restaurant's quality and value. Firstly, the portion size of the main dishes was shockingly small, to the point where they resembled children's portions rather than a satisfying meal for adults. It was disheartening to see such meagre servings on the plates, especially considering the high prices charged by the restaurant. Speaking of prices, the cost of the meal was exorbitant. For the portion sizes offered, the prices were significantly inflated, leaving me feeling like I paid more for less. The combination of the miniature portions and the steep bill left me regretting my decision to dine there. Furthermore, the customer service was lacking, and the owner of the restaurant seemed eager to shift the blame onto the patrons if any misunderstanding arose. This atmosphere made me feel like I was walking on eggshells while ordering, fearing any potential mistakes that could lead to unwarranted blame from the staff. The meal's most disappointing aspect was the poor quality of both the food and the drink. I encountered the unsettling experience of finding some pieces of chicken in my order to be undercooked, and the drink was tasteless and awful. Overall, my visit to Pahuna Indian & Nepalese Cuisine was a letdown. The inadequate portion sizes, high costs, and lack of attentive customer service made me feel like I had made a poor choice in selecting this restaurant.

Best curry I've had in a while. Top notch cuisine in middle of Plymouth and at good price

The korma is medium spice, lovely but might not work for kids. Service was really fast when we were in early dinner time before cinema trip

We had a lovely meal here, the food was fantastic. There was a mixup with my order, however the restaurant handled it very well and they went above and beyond to sort it out. The wait staff were very polite and well mannered. The only down side is that they were pushing us to submit a review before we finished dessert which isn't nice when you're trying to relax. BUT other than that it was very good- shout out to Mrunal who was very attentive and made us feel very welcome.

Disaster! I rarely write reviews but please don’t come here. I wish I could award 0 stars. I was so looking forward to a night out and my husband took me here for my birthday - it was truly awful. After waiting for an hour the waiter told us my meal would be late as it was still frozen!! My husband had a bland dish of chicken while I watched him eat. I did have the garlic naan which has to rate as the worst ever. The service was appalling as the place is run by teenagers who are quite obviously useless. When we left we were told that the kitchen lost our order which couldn’t be true as my husband had his meal. Fortunately I got a delicious takeaway on the way home. We will never come here again in fact it is now top of our worst ever nights out as I have never gone out for dinner just to watch my husband eat! Added to this the whole place is shabby and grubby with terrible lighting. This is definitely a place to avoid.

Nice food, tasty curry & naans. Asked for a herb to be left of my dish but it had been put all over which did detract from my overall enjoyment.

Ordered our first takeaway this evening and delighted with our order. Very tasty and value for money, will definitely order again. The Murgh Makani and Beef Rezala were delicious. - Andy
