Came first time and ordered chicken dosa … we were given another dish and on discussing with the owner we were told “you ordered this “ Second time came and we were never given a place saying it’s all full. Third time ordered idli sambar were given a different dish and on discussing was told “you ordered this “. It shows different behaviour towards different sectors of people. The priority of any restaurant is to ensure equality and make sure the customer is treated right. But we don’t see this happening here.

Amazing food, traveled from London and the standard of the food, especially the dosas were above and beyond! Cant fault it, the service was good as well. Fairly priced menu. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the local area.

Enjoyed very pleasant evening here Cinamom Garden. Food was very authentic South India, Sri lankan cuisine.if you like spicy food with a regional twist it's well worth a visit.

Everything basically tasted the same, somehow under seasoned yet over spiced all at the same time. Highly disappointed

The food is decent, that's about it. The dosa there has gluten in it which as a South Indian feels odd. Dosa is usually rice based and it is one of the best gluten free foods I've had in South India. The taste of the chicken pepper fry was average, not great. In fact taste and quantity wise, it's their rice dishes which shine. I have taken the take outs of Schezwan chicken fried rice, tomato rice, lemon rice and tamarind rice; all these i recommend. I will order these dishes again but not dosa or biriyani.

Visited several times and easily my favourite Indian restaurant in Plymouth. Great dosas, friendly staff, can't fault it and will certainly visit again.

I love this place. Incredible value, superb food and a welcoming atmosphere. Fantastic dosas, a whole range of South Indian meals and some of the most thoughtful service I have ever had. One of my favourite places in Plymouth, well worth a visit.

I just came back from Sri Lanka where the food was mind-blowingly good and the people were so so lovely, friendly and kind. Cinnamon Garden was like being in a little Sri Lanka in the UK. Such nice people and AMAZING food. The Dosas are the best I've had in UK outside of London 👌

I had an exceptional dining experience at Cinnamon Garden. From the moment I walked in, the lady who owns the restaurant greeted me warmly and made me feel right at home. Her genuine care for customers was evident throughout my meal. Not only was the customer service top-notch, but the food was also absolutely delicious. Every dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, and the flavors were simply exquisite. I highly recommend Cinnamon Garden to anyone looking for fantastic authentic Sri Lankan and South Indian dining experience with exceptional customer service.

Horrible experience. Reserved table online. The lady at reception not sure owner or manager had no sense of courtesy on how to talk to customers. Even after showing email of reservation confirmation, all she could say is "sorry its not showing on system and we cannot help". The rude behaviour was not just limited to us, but to a series of guests one after another. Such behaviour towards customer itself gives an impression how wrong we were to choose this restaurant and Thank God we walked out and got to another one right next to it "Pahuna". Must try. An ambience far far better than Cinnamon. Can't compare food as we did not eat at Cinnamon, but each item was extremely well prepared and we were touched by the amazing courtesy from each staff.. will definitely recommend any time over Cinnamon Garden.

😡😡😡😡 Here's an honest review of Cinnamon restaurant located on Vauxhall Street in Plymouth. My experience there was a complete disaster and nothing short of a nightmare. I had made a reservation for dinner at 8pm through their online booking system and received a confirmation email. Upon arriving right on time, the lady at the reception (presumably the owner) greeted us with incredibly rude behavior. She lacked basic courtesy and manners when speaking to customers. Initially, she denied our booking, claiming she couldn't find us on her list. After checking with her team, she returned to inform us that she still couldn't see our reservation. Despite showing her our confirmation email with the reservation ID, she made minimal effort to recheck or engage with us. Instead, she repeatedly ignored us and turned her back, refusing to listen to our explanations. When I questioned the significance of receiving an email confirmation if they couldn't provide us with a table, she once again ignored me. Unfortunately, this disrespectful behavior seemed to be a pattern, not just towards us but towards several other customers as well. Although I ultimately didn't dine in, the ambiance appeared equally dismal. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant. ZERO STARS TO THEM😡😡

Great food. The dosa wasn't as expected as the ones I've had before are wrapped, pancake roll style, as these were flat but the flavours were great. Would have got 5 stars if I could have got a cup of tea. Loved it and will be going back.

The lady in saree i don't know what's she called. But she has got an attitude for Indian customers. She behaves like she's the one paying for our food. She is extremely rude and mannerless. I am never recommending this place to anyone anymore. It was my last visit to this place.

Came all the way from Looe to try the chettinad crab curry and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, every dish we ordered was so delicious - I don’t think we’ve ever had such a delicious meal despite having frequented lots of south Asian restaurants living in London. The Nilgiri lamb was also exquisite, and being Indian ourselves we could see that each dish had been carefully prepared from scratch and the taste was authentic! Dosa was super crispy. For starters we had the prawn, devilled lamb and chukka dry chicken - which were all super tasty Hats off to the chef as the food is worth travelling even from London for! They also allowed us to have our quiet dog in as it wasn’t busy. I read the reviews and noted the customer service comments - we didn’t experience that during our meal as everyone was lovely but honestly, this place is still worth trying for the food!

Ordered chicken 65,chicken fried rice and tandoori…really tasty…would recommend to everyone

My recent dining experience with my family was a complete disaster. We ordered a couple of dishes with seafood fried rice, but unfortunately, the seafood fried was spoiled. I immediately informed the staff and returned the food, but to my surprise, they did not apologized the dish. Instead, they simply said that "sometimes it happens." I couldn't believe how they could serve spoiled food and showed no remorse for their actions. A lady at the cashier witnessed my frustration, and I explained that I had come with my wife and two small children. Luckily, we had only taken a few bites before realizing the food was bad, and my children were spared from the experience. However, both my wife and I had to deal with stomach issues and diarrhea. I called the restaurant to inform them of the situation, but the lady at the cashier dismissively replied that it was not their problem and I could do whatever I wanted. It was a terrible experience and left us feeling unsatisfied and unhappy. It's unacceptable for a restaurant to treat its customers in such a manner.

Dirty. Poor service and the curry was just ok. Won't be coming back.

The lady (Amma) is extremely rude. I don't understand her mindset when dealing with customers, especially Indian ones. Despite being a regular customer, she speaks rudely and acts as if delivering food is some sort of social work. It's important to be humble, lady. This is my last order from this restaurant.

Came last Wednesday lunchtime and admittedly didn't book, thought a Wednesday lunch at the end of January would be fine....had checked opening hours 2 days before.......to find you closed and without an explanation.......so sad to miss the beautiful dosa that I had set my heart on 😭 ...Will try again soon, hope all is OK x

The king fish curry with tamarind rice was fabulous, spicy with lots of flavours. My partner and friend had a biryani which they said was quite dry.

Absolutely amazing experience, the food was delicious, the staff so friendly and the place makes you feel very immersed in the Indian/ Sri Lankan culture. They even added prawns to my curry even though it didn’t originally have it.

We had a very great experience in the restaurant. Though we didn't reserve table, they have provided table for us as soon as we walked in. We had masala dosa, parotta, crab chettinad masala and fried rice. Dosa and parotta was excellent with authentic taste. Definitely will go there again

We had a very bad experience 2 times . Their customer service is really bad. The receptionist's attitude was like she don't want us to eat in both times. First time, there was 1 hour left to close the shop but they told us we won't finish at time. Nxt time we went early but they asked us to finish in a fixed time ...which was not enough. It was one of my first experience from a restaurant....atleast she could have told us kindly.

I just feel really bad about this place, I went there twice with my friend, both the time the lady working there behave the worst. We visited the first time, before an hour left to close, but she doesn’t allow us to eat as she wanna close the shop early. And the second time we went there early but she behave like she doesn’t want us to dine in there and offered food on a condition of having the food asap and leave the place or taking the food home. Anyway the customer service is really bad as I haven’t had any other experience from anywhere else, felt like she was the worst in Plymouth. I’m a South Indian and felt discriminated from this place itself, anyway they could have employed a nicer person, who knows how to talk to people.

Would never go to this restaurant again due to rude and inhumane behaviour of the staff. My 4 year son did vomit as felt sick after finishing food but rather than asking for help or showing compassion for my poor son the owner were just kept standing and asking to clean it before we leave without giving us right stuff to clean. On asking antibacterial wipes they declined stating they don’t have it. I can’t imagine how do they clean their table and kitchen without antibacterial spray/wipes. Extremely disappointing behaviour. I normally do not giv reviews but the way they treated us as customer, won’t recommend this place at all.

It was our first outing date on end of nov and we searched for a south indian restaurant in plymouth...that ended up in cinnamom garden...The food was really nice which was a great relief and that too was nostalgic and made us to feel back home .All the staffs were soo good and their service was great .Will really visit again and again.Thank you..

Best south Indian food we've had! Eaten south Indian food across the UK, so lovely to find somewhere so good in the South West! One of our group is planning on coming down from Bristol again purely to come here!

I and my friends decided to visit this place to have some decent Indian food lately but turns out this was our worst decision so far in Plymouth, the meal was extremely taste less and the service is extremely slow. Would rank it negative or 0 if the option was available. Would never recommend a place like this to anyone. Highly disappointed.

Beautiful setting with some of the very best food I’ve ever tasted. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful and they seemed genuinely happy to work there & help. Definitely not a place to miss. Best meal out I’ve had in years.

Dosa is all time love for me and the mysore dosa is the best thing to order on the menu with falooda. Waiting time can be varied depending on the rush but overall the best experience always.

Totally delicious and definite wow factor with the the dishes we ordered (portions of rice a little too large but good for sharing) service very attentive friendly and helpful definitely worth eating here.

We dined in last night with our 9 year old daughter as a table of 3, and we cannot recommend this place enough. The moment we opened the door we were greeted by the biggest smiles and can honestly say some of the best customer service we've experienced. The lady serving us was just so lovely. We ordered 6 different dishes off the broad menu, and every one was absolutely delicious! We were so full but couldn't stop eating because it was all so good. They do have a "Kids Corner" on the menu, with nuggets and fish etc, which our daughter would normally opt for, but even she really enjoyed the Sri Lanken food. I can highly recommend the Sheek Kebab, the Dosa and the Biryani. It was all great but these stood out. There is an extensive drinks menu, a lovely atmosphere and we will definitely be going back for more!

My wife and I decided to spoil ourselves and order some food. Not only did we get the full order, but we spent an entire hour dealing with these goons. I first called to let them know we did not get our main meal. We were at this point told we'd get a call back within 2 minutes. 10-15 minutes pass and no phone call. I called, explained the problem again and am offered some humble apologies by a very kind woman. Still, no solutions. Later I am told that they will not be refunding us and that we should deal with Deliveroo. Whilst discussing this, they hang up on me. By no means am I a 'Karen', in fact I'm quite reasonable, but these guys are absolute cowboys. I would recommend never purchasing from these people. Save your money and get a Co-op Indian meal deal. At least you know what you're getting. By all means, if you wish to be scammed, go ahead and order.

The food was delicious. The rose milk is our new favourite drink! The place has a calm atmosphere with good service. We definitely recommend.

Extremely bad experience. I would give in a negative if option provided. The food was pathetic and the owner was extremely rude. They were not even accommodating for 3 years old and simply saying 'No' to everything. We went through 'Star Tours' so it was a buffet. They were not even covering the food hence everything got cold quickly. Post that all the chapatis become papad soon, we asked for the kid if they can prepare a chapati fresh since he will not be able to chew but the simple answer was 'No'. Food was finished in a BUFFET and the answer was NO. It's finished..!!! It felt like they didn't want to serve customers. I won't recommend anybody to try it ever

We got the chance to try out this as part of our Cornwall trip via Kandala Travels The dinner experience at Cinnamon Gardens in Plymouth was undeniably one of the most disappointing aspects of our trip. To put it mildly, it was a debacle. Firstly, we were met with a shocking level of rudeness from the restaurant staff. Their behavior was far from accommodating, making us feel unwelcome from the moment we stepped in. This was in stark contrast to the treatment provided to another group, the supposedly prestigious "Star Tour" group, who were received with politeness and humility. The quality of the food itself left much to be desired. It was not only of poor quality but also excessively oily, leaving us feeling quite unsatisfied and unimpressed. Moreover, the distinction between vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes was nonexistent, causing confusion and frustration among our group. Adding to our dining woes, the utensils provided were far from clean, and we had to repeatedly request basic items such as spoons and tissues. This lack of attention to detail and cleanliness further contributed to our overall negative experience. To add insult to injury, the manager of the restaurant imposed a strict 30-minute time limit on our dinner, essentially rushing us through the meal. This abrupt approach was justified by the impending arrival of the "Star Tour" group, but it only made us feel like second-class citizens or, worse yet, beggars. In summary, the dinner at Cinnamon Gardens was not only a culinary disappointment but also a deeply uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. It was a stark contrast to the courteous treatment observed towards another group, leaving us with a sour taste in our mouths, both figuratively and literally.

Probably the most authentic Indian in Plymouth. The masala dosa is very authentic, sambar vada, puri masala and Gobi Manchurian all also top notch! Hope these guys do well cos I think it's the best Indian in town.

My wife and I went specifically for masala dosas and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The dosa was great, and so was the sambar and the chutneys. The decor is slightly tired and basic but the restaurant offers great value for money. We will definitely return for more and recommend eating at this place.

Excellent ambience as well as excellent food and service

Amazing place. The food was incredible. As good if not better than some of the finest food I’ve eaten in Sri Lanka. The staff are amazing. They looked after my every need and were so friendly. The atmosphere and vibe in the whole place was perfect. They even sell one of my favourite beers, Lion Stout. I highly recommend and will definitely be back next time I’m in Plymouth. Thank you so much.

Terribly poor service and communication from a restaurant I was really looking forward to trying. I placed an order at 5pm and had to hasten the restaurant 1hr 30mins later to check it had been despatched. The order had not even been prepared. I was told the order would be prepared and delivered by 8pm. Over three hours later from placing the original order I had to call them again, only to be told the delivery drivers car had broken down and that I could expect a call from the manager within 10mins. 15 minutes later I called the restaurant again, only to be told they could deliver my order by 9pm once the already previously prepared meal had been prepared and cooked. I declined and requested a refund, being told that they would call me back straight away to complete the refund. I’m still awaiting that call…..extremely disappointing. The worst service I’ve received from a restaurant in our area - avoid at all costs.
