Absolute joke… over £60 of food ordered and was laughed at when I phoned to ask where it was. Food turned up 2+ hours after we ordered & it was stone cold by the time it got here. Avoid at all costs, utterly gutted on a family get together

Incorrect dish delivered but replaced fairly quickly.

Bit of a wait for delivery but when it did arrive food was delicious and piping hot. Lamb was so tender and all was really tasty.

Over rated and overpriced will not ever use again as there are plenty of Indian takeaways so much better than this place

Food arrived early which was ideal. Unfortunately the dishes we ordered were not as good as expecting. The lamb in the lamb curry was tougher than a leather boot. The vegetable pathia had mostly cauliflower and 1 tiny potato. The side dish of tarka dhal was very ok and the spicy potatos all 5 small ones was average. Shame as this restaurant was one of the top 3 in plymouth. 2nd bad experience. Will not be returning.

Somewhat disappointed. Went after reading it had been a recent award winner but not really impressed with their offering or the restaurant itself. Have been to quite a few indian/Nepalese restaurants in Plymouth with much better food, ambience and service. Glad we tried it but won't be back!

We are quite a way from the restaurant so not surprised it took a while and wasnt super hot, but that is acceptable based on the distance. The food seemed of good quality, the meat was succulent. I was hoping for a much hotter taste being a naga, but it was very mild. I enjoyed the taste but prefer a bit of a challenge so will make it clear on future orders to not hold back on the spice.

absolutely fantastic delicious food probably the best bhuna I've had in a while and wife's lamb korma was also delicious delivered piping hot and was even early which was a bonus. we would highly recommend if you want a delicious hot and fantastic Indian 5*

Grt place 🏼 to hangout with friends 👨‍👩‍👧👫and family. Very good 👌🏼atmosphere around. Food Quality (In some dish) and quantity is on top 💯. Every dish 🍖🥩🥓🥐🥒 🥗was delicious 🔥 do visit the place 🗣️🗣️. Very good staffs👨🏿‍🍳👨🏿‍🍳🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳 and management 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 feeling of a full stomach even on the limited food that is provided. So you tend to come back to the same restaurant as you feel full.

Food arrived on time but was cold. Portions all quite small, curries were low on chicken and sauce v thin. A bit disappointing.

DO NOT USE. Order over an hour late, no communication regarding this. I asked where it would be twice and after 9pm it eventually arrived. I asked for some money back which I don't think was unreasonable and the restaurant refused to refund any money and blamed the delay on the weather???? Disagree with that statement, would have collected but no option to do this and the restaurant kept saying it wouldn't be much longer...

I ordered for delivery on New Years Eve. £50 on two curry’s, two sides, two rice, chips, poppadoms and naan. Delivery only took an hour, however… it was cold upon arrival, the onion bhagi’s were dripping in grease, the mixed meat starter was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted, the chips were stale, the lamb curry was chewy and the poppadoms inedible. Really disappointed

You didn’t get much for the order and also it gave 2 prices for the meal for 2 one said 29-99 and other 34-99 and also only got one rice

booked for 7.30. ten of us. had the drinks and nibbles. ordered our mains. nobody cleared our table- so we did! the actual meal arrived at 9.40. minus a couple of peshwari naans. we only went as the first time it was all good. will not be going again. very disappointed we were !

This was meant to be a celebratory meal and we thought with the great reviews this restaurant would be a solid choice. We were seated in the window area next to a very busy table which made it impossible for us to have a nice bit of dinner chat. They'll offer you poppadoms straight away as you sit down and we then found them added to the bill without being told. The food really wasn't great and it seems really expensive for what it was. Sorry to say we won't be back to this restaurant

I have been a regular customer of Cafe Indya for 14 years and have not had a bad meal until recently. My last meal was dry, cold and by far the worst I've tasted. I have noticed a decline over the past couple of years. Time to try pastures new.

The food was delivered fast and decent but I had 1 issue , The keema rice from is not good , keema rice is meant to be fried on a pan with oil , peas , lamb mince , garlic , onions and 7 different spices and is very tasty ! What i just got from here was pilau rice mixed with peas and lamb mince in a microwave and was very dry with no effort , The chefs who cooked this need to taste how the spice merchants do it or google how to do it properly , Thanks and I hope you change how to cook this dish

Ordered food from Cafe Indiya for the first time on Friday. The Garlic Chicken Balti was ok but the Crab Malabar was awful. Never have I tasted the like. It was like eating desiccated coconut covered in a bag of sugar. And I was totally unable to taste any crab. I ended up throwing the whole starter dish away as it was disgustingly sweet. I complained about the starter and was told by the person I spoke to that they would get the owner to call me. Well guess what….7 days on and still no phone call e en though I phoned up twice for an update and to speak to the owner. Not a great first experience of Cafe Indiya especially as I waited 2 hours for delivery of the food. What a let down. I don’t think I’ll bother ordering from there again. Plenty of other Indian restaurants in Plymouth to try I guess because they really don’t seem bothered at Cafe Indiya 1/5 🙁.

The food is fantastic, the staff are lovely but a bit slow. The atmosphere is a bit loud, same music on repeat and very awkward how close the tables are to each other.

Good was really good, not really oily like Indian can be; was hot and on time, highly recommend.

We ordered a takeaway at 8pm was told delivery approximately 55mins, I called the restaurant at 9.30pm they looked for my order and said they would need to contact the driver and call me back, no phone call, so called again at 9.45pm, was told delivery has just left, no explanation to what had happened, no apology. The food was very nice but I didn't enjoy it as it was gone 10pm. If they do not want to do deliveries then they shouldn't advertise, unfortunately I will not be ordering from them again.

I have eaten in this restaurant a number of times and the food has always been very good. But tonight I ordered a takeaway of 2 chicken curry baltis two plain naan, pilau rice and a chicken tikka starter. With delivery £33.50. Now I have no complaints about the food it was delicious as usual, fresh hot naan, delicious tender chicken, lovely spicy sauce. Great. The disappointing bit, why were all the containers only half full. I paid for a full portion of everything, both curries half full, the rice even though very fluffed up still 1/4 of an inch from the top. It may seem petty to some but times are hard and a treat these days is hard to justify. So please cafe indiya don’t spoil an excellent meal by offering small portions at normal prices. But again, I must say a delicious meal.

Didn’t enjoy the food at all no taste

We ordered from here because of the great reviews, we were told it would be delivered in 45 mins ended up being 90 mins so was not a good start when food arrived looked very nice but the 3 different meals we ordered all lacked much flavour and were disappointing considering the reviews, hopefully this was a one off but we won’t be ordering from here again☹️

Second time I have been there now there wear fourteen of us and the food and service was great had a really great time will definitely be going there again

The food was like warm and the tikka curry was very thick as was the korma like paste thought i would try some where else and we'll I'm starving and won't be returning £35 wasted

Our regular Indian takeaway was shut for a Monday night so decided to try out Cafe Indiya. When i collected the food, the Restaurant appeared clean and tidy and staff seemed friendly. However the portions of curry /rice we were given seemed quite small considering the amount of money they charge. It may be that we are comparing it to our regular Indian takeaway that offer decent portions, however the rice tubs were quite small, and the curry in the tubs were about 50% full. I will say though that their onion bhajis were delicious.

We were a party of 4 and arrived at 5.15 prior to an event we were attending at 7 nearby. A very warm welcome and attentive service from the outset. We had heard about the awards Cafe Indiya had received so tried it for the first time. The ambience and service was great and the food was a different level to any where else in Plymouth and we’ve visited many that claim to be the best. We arrived early so marked down one star on atmosphere but it was our choice to arrive early. The food is presented so well and differently from other Indian Restaurants which will delight any new visitor to Cafe Indiya. Cannot rate this place high enough for the best Indian meal and service in Plymouth

I don't even know where to start with this. I don't usually leave a poor review, especially if I can see some things to recommend a place, but truly people need to be aware of how terrible and overpriced the food here is. We ordered vegetable Bhuna, paneer koftas, Peshawari naan, paratha and onion bajee. The paneer koftas were inexplicable. Absolutely textureless balls of and unidentifiable paste covered in what I can only assume was ketchup and cream. The Bhuna looked and tasted like a supermarket microwave meal, ditto the rice. The bajees were cooked in oil so cold you could safely rest your hands in it and came out as a flaccid ball of grease, the Peshawari naan was one of the sweetest things I've ever encountered - a bounty bar would have made a more savory alternative and the paratha was both undercooked and excessively oily. When asked whether we enjoyed our meal, we replied that honestly no we hadn't (the barely touched plates were a clue). The response was to tells us we should have told them (we just did) and to charge us the full whack regardless. It's no exaggeration to say this was the worst curry I've ever been close to. They proudly display the "curry of the year award 2021" on the wall and I can only assume they stole it from another restaurant far far away.

One of the best curry houses in Plymouth!

I have ordered from here many times over the years. It has always been hit or miss with quality. When it’s good, it’s the best. Unfortunately, when it’s bad, it’s awful. This time it was completely tasteless and the last few orders were not much better. Time to find a new go to, unfortunately.

Text to say on its way at time requested for delivery. Just eat said delivered at time ordered for 25mminutes later still not arrived. Called and then arrived 5 minutes later but only warm. Food is good but delivery times poor.

Going by the reviews we ordered from this specific Indian in plymouth although the food was OK we went to collect and it wasn't till we got home and seen there was only 1 of our dishes we ordered in the bag. As you can imagine we wasnt happy and we were quite far away to just go and collect it. We rang up and told them, in return they will deliver it with extras to apologise pickles and that. When it arrived it came with half a broken papdom. Thanks cafe Indiya probs won't be back

We had a large group of us order a takeaway, a wide variety of main dishes and sides, plus the added complication that all the side dishes needed to be vegan. Absolutely delicious food, the chef even called us back to check whether the rice dishes also needed to be vegan. Really attentive, great customer service, prompt delivery, lovely food. Highly recommended.

Incredible food, the best Indian meal we have ever had! Staff were lovely, we weren't rushed through our meal and even asked if we were ready for our mains which i really like. Will definitely be back!

We had a fabulous meal, which was well spicy and very tasty. The service was outstanding and it was a great evening.

Although we had a table booked there appeared to be no expectation of our arrival as we were shown to our seats. Starters of onion bhaji, meat samosa and ‘green chicken’ were all very tasty and relatively quick to be served. Main courses of Railway Chicken and Garlic Chicken were also excellent, as were the side dishes of Bombay Aloo, Peshwari Naan, Pilau and Lemon Rice although the Tarka Dahl lacked a bit of flavour. Overall a really good meal but it was about 50% more than the takeaway menu online which made it quite a bit more expensive than expected.

My wife Debbie and I decided to visit cafe indiya on the spur of the moment. On arrival at 5.30 on a Friday evening we were pleasantly surprised at the lovely feeling inside, ample seating, friendly staff and nice decor. We were seated and immediately offered popadoms and 4 dips, so fresh and all very tasty. We had cobra beer on tap, loved the temperature of it and ordered our main meal of buttered garlic chicken balti with mushrooms, pilau rice, saag aloo side and the most delicious light naan breads we’ve eaten in many years. The chicken balti was stunningly tasty and the chicken so moist and tender. A very pleasant and very filling meal. The staff were very nice and very attentive. I Would not hesitate to recommend this place. Prices were not too bad either. £55 for a very pleasant meal and drinks. Thank you cafe indiya
