We booked as a party of 11 which is quite big for a restaurant of this size though they coped admirably. It was hard to chose from the menu as so many of the dishes sounded so good. All the food was very tasty and obviously freshly cooked and nicely spiced. If we hadn’t been travelling through all of us would have been very happy to come again.

Food and service was very good. Not the best I’ve ever had. But very good, and fairly priced. The building is quite cramped, and if you’re much taller than about 5”10 then you’ll run out of leg space fairly promptly. That’s not a complaint. It’s just what it is, and a small thing I noticed.

The Zaika Inn offers the best value for money and the most delicious Indian cuisine in Marlborough. Since its reopening after the floods, I've visited several times and am impressed by the team's resilience. The renovations are excellent, and the food remains consistently tasty. When dining in, I recommend the sizzling tandoori dishes—they're impressive and fragrant, sure to attract envious glances from other diners. The restaurant also provides a fantastic takeaway menu. The atmosphere is vibrant on weekends and more relaxed during the week, making it suitable for any preference. The staff are lovely, the food is superb, and we always feel warmly welcomed.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I came away with mixed feelings. The food was good, tasty and well priced. However the service was poor. The owner was on a telephone call to his broadband provider arguing for virtually the full duration of my meal. Surely take this call out of the way of paying customers who don’t want to hear it. Poor service.

One of the tastiest Indian restaurants that I have ever eaten in! The food was delicously spiced and of high quality, both in the restaurant and take away. There were also some interesting and different dishes that didn't disappoint. We even took an order back for the next day! For instance, the Dal Makhani, which takes a long cook and care, and hence is rare to find, was rich, buttery and moreish. Definitely goes in my death row meal top 5!

I have to say, one of the best Indian meals I have had in a long time. Staff were exceptionally friendly, and the food was incredible. Nowadays most Indian restaurants I have been to are what I would deem completely average, no thrills, and they don’t make me want to rush back. We stumbled across this restaurant when away for work and never have I felt so compelled to leave a positive review. The food was honestly leagues above your typical Indian restaurant, even down to the naan bread. I’d highly recommend visiting if you are planning a trip to Marlborough!

I recently made a visit to Marlborough from Ireland for a family reunion. The evening spent having dinner The Zaika Inn was a highlight of the trip. Modest in appearance from the outside, we were greeted warmly on arrival. The restaurant manager was the epitome of charm and courtesy, and met with some demanding requests from us with great aplomb. It was clear that the restaurant can accommodate varying dietary and taste requirements, and does so without drama or delay. The flexibility and kindness shown by the staff was greatly appreciated by all of us. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. The next time I visit Marlborough I shall definitely be booking a table again at The Zaika Inn.

If you complain you get banned. I ate with my friend Thursday the 26th of October. We shared our meal which was simple and not spicy. We were both ill all day Friday. I visited the restaurant at 6 o’clock when there were no customers so as not create a scene and to inform the owner that we were both ill just in case others had so he could investigate any health issues. The owner did not take on board what I was saying. He did not accept it was his restaurant. Neither myself of my friend have any intolerances and are used to spicy curry’s even though this was mild. The owner credited me for the meal which I hadn’t gone to the restaurant for but as he was so indignant I accepted his offer to credit me. I couldn’t believe my ears when I was told that customers like me are not welcome to come back, even though I have been to the restaurant many times before. I was polite and wanted to inform the owner in the interests of all customers. I told him crediting me was correct behaviour but to refuse my custom was incorrect and disgraceful. So if you want to eat there the do so but if you’re I’ll and complain your banned. Needless to say I will never spend my tax paid money to this establishment.

Was looking for an Indian style evening meal & came across The Zaika Inn. From it other reviews sound the place to visit. As we visited it on the off chance & its quite small, we arrived just in time, before it got busy & it ran out of tables. It was good here while we waited for our meals, the owner talking to other guests, who must visit regular, not only talking about the restaurant but each others family & how they doing. When our food arrived we're not disappointed with the presentation & taste. We would happily eat here again, the next time we're in Malborough, but we just may ring ahead & book a table to make sure we can get a table.

We visited early on a Sunday evening with our three children (9,9 and 12 years old). The service was great, the ambience good despite it being quiet as we went earlier than most. The food was outstanding. We had a mixed platter to start which was recommended. It was delicious, especially the scallops and lamb. The main courses were equally good, (my chicken shashlik was 10/10!) It was one of the best Indian meals we’ve had. I would highly recommend a visit, a bit of a gem, we can’t wait to go again! Reasonably priced too, it worked out at approx £30 a head including 2 drinks each and the usual naans and superb mushroom rice.

This place is not your average High Street Indian. Tucked just off of the main road and quite small it doesn't look the part but the food makes it worth seeking out. My brother started with the pan fried scallops and pronounced them the best he'd ever eaten. Prone to exaggeration, he wasn't in this case as he spared me a morsel and it was succulent and sweet and tasted of the sea with an Indian tinge - it was quite delicious. I had the prawn patia puri which was also first rate with juicy prawns wrapped in the puri with a delicate sauce. My brother then had the mixed sea food and for me the chicken chettinad, again both superb as was the accompanying dhal. Only slight disappointment was the naan which was OK but I like them a bit burnt and this was unexceptional. All in a a great mean and I'll certainly be back when in the vicinity.

I used to love Zaika. The quality and quantity of food was outstanding and the service was excellent and always with a smile. My last 4 experiences were polar opposite. The owner is utterly rude and misogynistic towards the women in our party, treating them like underlings. Unacceptable. Where the quantities of food were quite good, my last bhindi bhaji contained 7 okra for £5.95 and the same went for the mains. The quantity did not reach a 1/2 line in any of the containers. When trying to talk to them about this, it was met with hostility and we were aske to eat elsewhere in the future. Such a shame.

Nice food, friendly and helpful staff who were very good with vegetarian options, BUT I have dropped 2 stars because of their unacceptable practice .... They leave a bottle of still water on each table which we assumed (perhaps in naivety) that this was complimentary. What a find. New to the area, I was desperate to find a good Indian restaurant. I'm used to the 'British' Indian takeaway experience of overly rich, sugary sauces and was intrigued by previous reviews speaking of the authentically Indian food. I booked a table and wasn't disappointed. Small restaurant, full to the brim (which is a good sign) friendly and attentive staff, and absolutely delicious food. My wife and I had a starter of mixed meat and seafood, which came served with a selection of tasty sauces. Followed by the 'Zaika Special' which was a creamy, relatively mild curry full of flavor. All in all the cost was also incredibly reasonable. I will absolutely be back and look forward to tasting more from the extensive menu.

Well I was convinced by all the good reviews but after visiting on Friday evening I just can't understand the hype. I visited with a group of 5 and although the service was pretty good and the restaurant quite nice this was by far the most bland, flavourless curry I have ever tasted. Not one dish was worth the visit, the price was also a lot more than I pay living in London. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for an Indian restaurant.

I phoned and order it during the afternoon service for a 7pm pick up. The order was ready on time and the bags double checked by the wonderfully helpful staff. this was the best curry I've had in a long time. Really tasty, aromatic and expertly cooked. Would absolutely order from there again.

First takeaway from Namaste. Disappointed. Will stick with Tale Of Spice as nicer tasting butter Chicken and Bombay Aloo and more free accompaniments.

Firstly I’d like to say I have eaten here a few times and normally the food and service are fabulous, however I recently went with quite a number of friends for a Christmas meal and was very disappointed. We arrived at 7pm having pre ordered and paid. 18 of us were crammed into a back area where we were so closely packed in, it was difficult to move. The food arrived at 8.30, mine had a skin on it and was cold. I had no plate and no rice to accompany the dish, I requested the food was heated up while I waited on the rest. It was returned heated but still no rice or plate, by the time they came, it had cooled down again. As I said there were quite a few people around 50, they were clearly struggling to deal with that number of people, surely it would’ve been advisable not to take a large booking if it was a problem. Then on top of that we were later told the price some of us had prepaid was the take out price and more was asked for. I will certainly be thinking twice before going again.

They advertise that they have a delivery service. I called as soon as it opened to place an order, I'm local. The man who answered the phone told me they weren't delivering tonight. Either they deliver or they don't. I am extremely disappointed and will not bother in future!
