Indian restaurant in Chippenham that's exciting. Menu is interesting. I haven't tried most of the dishes, but it was very well managed. One hour street parking is available nearby.

Very friendly staff went above and beyond and a great meal, thank you for everything.

Highly recommend if you’re in the area. The South Indian dishes are specially the best on the menu. Will rightly remind you of the South Indian taste if you’re missing South Indian cuisine. The service is also good.

Myself , my mother and my partner went for dinner, we ordered 2 Chicken Korma curries and my partner had a lamb madras. The korma curries were nothing like expected, I have eaten chicken korma on countless occasions and from my experience they are quite creamy and sweet with coconut and almond, very mild. At the Akash this was not the case , it was orange in color not creamy and very peppery. It made both my mum and myself cough and i had an allergic reaction to it. (this has never happened with a korma previously) I even asked the waiter if perhaps we had been served the wrong curry but he said we had not and when i said from my experience they are sweet , creamy with taste of coconut. I explained that the curry we had been served was not creamy and didn't seem to have any coconut in it, he responded by saying they used coconut powder....Obvs not the same at all. As we unable to eat our curry we asked for the bill and asked that the 2 korma curries be removed. Our server said they could only remove 1 of the korma's. So in conclusion we paid £50 for a meal including sundries that we couldn't/didn't eat so I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who has experience eating and enjoying a korma or fair customer service in my opinion at least.

ordered 2 chicken korma curries , korma from all I've eaten and ready about is a creamy , sweet curry , very coconutty. This WAS NOT it didn't taste of coconut at all , it wasn't creamy at all it was just orange and very peppery. It made both my mother and myself cough and I had a fairly severe allergy to it. (had to to take an antihistamine) I have eaten korma curries on countless occasions and never had a reaction. I even asked the waiter if he was certain we had been served korma as it was not like any korma either my mum or I had tasted. he assured my that it was and was made with powdered coconut milk?! needless to say we couldn't eat them and asked for the bill , requesting that the korma be removed , he said they would only removed one. So I paid £50 for curry and sundries we didn't eat and received the bare minimum of apologies nor offer of something else. Won't be going back. it's a shame as years and years ago it was an excellent place to got for a meal but now it in my opinion is terrible.

A hidden gem in Chippenham. One of the best Indian meals we have eaten in a long time. The service was good, the quality and heat of the food was excellent. Overall a lovely and reasonably priced meal. We will be back again soon.

4 of us had a takeaway from here. Onion bhajis and vegetable samosas to start then 3 chicken and 1 vegetable dish. The food was very well flavoured and didn't leave the usual takeaway grease on your plate. Staff were very friendly and the takeaway was ready at the time it said. Would highly recommend this place

We dropped in for a quick meal while at the Chippenham Folk Festival. The food was good (dosa and tandoori paneer) and the staff were friendly.

Dinner at Akash was incredibly good! We had poppadoms, a lamb curry which was probably one of the best I have ever had, a mix tandoori, which had perfectly cooked and spiced meats and two rices which were super fluffy and fragrant. We also had a side of brinjal Baji, super delicious! We shall come back here very often!

Akash is by far my favourite Indian in Chippenham, especially because they do delicious masala dosas and they have a great vegetarian selection. I took my parents yesterday and we had a great meal and the staff were lovely and couldn’t do more to help. They were happy to make my dad’s favourite curry even though it wasn’t on the menu, and all of the dishes I tried were full of flavour. My dad is hard of hearing and the lack of music was an added bonus as we could easily chat.

I often go here with family, work or order for takeaway. This is by far the best Indian restaurant and takeaway in Chippenham. I'd highly recommend visiting Akash to anyone who enjoys a good curry.

The food was really delicious. Had fresh tilapia curry and coconut rice.

Easy to order online & pick a collection time that suits. Generous portion size with each dish. A nice touch that a couple of poppadoms were included at no charge. Will definitely be ordering again.

the nan bread was stale and dry. very little curry sauce to go with the biriani. But the poppadoms were OK. Will not be using them again.

I wanted to cancel the order after realizing I'd ordered from a shop 200miles away. and even after ringing theyve completed the order and I have been charged.

My friend and I dined here this evening, on a brief visit to Chippenham. The food and service was first-class, and the menu had plenty of choice. I have a cashew nut allergy, and our waiter handled this perfectly, reassuring me that my meal would be cashew nut free. Similarly, the menu had a clear “N” sign for dishes which contained nuts, so I knew in advance which to avoid. Excellent pricing, good portion sizes, tasty food, and quality service - I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a really delicious meal and my first experience of a take away from Akash has been wonderful. Polite and helpful conversation over the phone (I have a dairy intolerance) and then good service with a freshly cooked meal.. got it home and I am now stuffed but very happy! Onion Bhaji to start which was light and tasty.. Lamb Rogan with Saag Aloo for main and 2 huge chapatis .. honestly one of the nicest Indian meals I have had for a long time! I will be going back..

Cannot rate this highly enough. Food was superb, the dosa one of the best I’ve eaten, full of flavour, well cooked and beautifully presented. Main meal really good too, chicken spicy and sizzling. Excellent choice of sides. Staff attentive and professional. Very reasonable price.

My brother visited this place with some expectations from these reviews. He ordered a Paneer curry. The curry was bland with no taste whatsoever. It felt like they have just take some masala out from the frozen, put some veg/Paneer and quickly given it out. It was a quite night with no other guests yesterday when he visited, yet the food was very disappointing.

I have been here a few times and the food has always been tasty and well-cooked. I've had their dosas as well as curry dishes. Most recent visit I had the madras and it was delicious; had a decent amount of heat but you could taste all the other flavours. Loads of veggie options too.

Lamb was over cooked and barley recognisable as lamb, more like a tough leather boot worn by a soldier with trench foot in the Second World War. Service was good tho, very kind man but he needs to find better cooks. They aren’t doing him any favours.

Used to be good, in fact finger licking until recently.,unsure what changed chef and/or whole management. Avoid if you can, no dish tastes what's it supposed to. Not friendly staff

Never had a bad meal from here. Can only comment on mild creamy curries however, such as korma and butter chicken. Lots of sauce, wish there was a bit more meat for the price.

Delicious food, delivered hot and early

Best Indian food I've ever had, the lamb vindaloo was just excellent. Spice level had me sweating, deep flavor, perfect naan. The owner is also super nice, our service was excellent. Hope to be back one day

A Lackluster Indian Takeaway Experience at Akash I feel compelled to share my experience with Akash Indian Takeaway, especially considering my wife's Indian background and our high hopes for a satisfying meal for her parents, who were visiting from Delhi. While we understood that we couldn't expect an authentic gourmet Indian feast in Wiltshire, we were still left disappointed by the overall lack of spice, flavour, and seasoning in the food. It seemed as if the restaurant missed the memo on the essence of Indian cuisine. We ordered a variety of dishes, hoping for an enjoyable culinary journey. However, each one fell short of expectations. The lack of understanding of spice and seasoning was evident in every bite. The food seemed uninspired and failed to capture the vibrant flavors that make Indian cuisine so beloved. It was disheartening to discover that even with our low expectations, Akash couldn't deliver a satisfying taste experience. To emphasise the disappointment, my father-in-law took matters into his own hands and cooked a curry at our AirBNB using the few scraps we had around the house and next to no spices. Surprisingly, his homemade creation surpassed the flavors and richness of the entire meal we ordered from Akash. I assure you, I'm not saying this just to earn brownie points—it genuinely highlights the stark contrast in taste and quality. To be fair, there were a couple of positives in this experience. The food arrived promptly, still hot, and the prices were relatively affordable. These factors, however, pale in comparison to the overall lack of flavour and authenticity that we had hoped for in an Indian takeaway. In conclusion, if you're seeking a lackluster Indian-inspired soup experience, Akash may meet your expectations. However, if you're in search of a truly flavorsome culinary adventure with the taste and texture that Indian cuisine is renowned for, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Akash left us wanting more, and we were ultimately left unsatisfied with the overall quality of the food.

An authentic Indian restaurant that most Indians would enjoy eating at. Unlike some of the restaurants in the country, this restaurant is owned, managed by Indians, and the chefs are also native Indians. The flavours give a homely effect PS: Owner is a Malayali from Kerala.

We regularly have dinner at Akash and we totally love it! All dishes are pretty authentic, cooked with fresh ingredients, delicious taste. The menu makes everyone happy offering plenty of options for vegans / vegetarian or meat lovers. Good size portions 😊. The service is great, all waiters are super kind!

Food was later than said and it was warm not hot. Meal was OK but will probably not order again. Not a brilliant service all round.

I ordered a takeaway this even got myself and my daughter. 15 minutes after the estimated delivery time I called the shop but no answer. The driver then called me to ask my address as he was out delivery food (!) and the restaurant didn’t have it. I don’t know how as I have screen shots of the order placed online. The absolute worst is when I called the shop to explain and complain our food was cold I was told it wasn’t cold (?!?) then that she didn’t understand me and THEN I was hung up on. Speechless

Really feeling sad to write a negative review after writing multiple positive reviews and ordering from this restaurant appx once in a week for the last 6 months. Today my orders I received were partially cooked and not hot. Biriyani rice is almost like real rice, not even soaked properly,. ☹️ Chicken pieces are not even coated with any masala. I hope the chef will look into this immediately. Thanks

Food was very tasty Portion sizes not so good. Prawn shashlik was very underwhelming 4 prawns as a main meal was very disappointing.

Food was ok but it was so late! I called to chase it after 30 mins after they said it had already been delivered and got completely dismissed. The guy said it would be here in 10 mins but didn’t even ask for the address or the order number then hung up on me. Abysmal customer service! They should at least let you know they are busy rather than saying it’s been delivered when it hasn’t!

Best indian food in Chippenham, by far!

A fantastic Indian restaurant. We have been using them for years, and the quality hasn't slipped once.

This is the second visit to Akash since it re-opened, and both times we received excellent service from Alfred, and the food it delicious. I love the Masala dosa, we then shared the Kerala fish curry and the veggie dhal and spinach curry with lemon rice and cheese and chilli Nan - yum! Highly recommended, reasonable price and you can BYO!

Delivery was super fast but the food was the worst Indian Iv ever had, tasted like a microwave meal, to watery and chicken was tough.

Best Indian food in Chippenham by far. We have visited twice recently during a lunch time and the service and food were amazing. Try it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Food would have been 6/6 had it not taken 90 minutes to arrive, never experienced this before, but if you can't get the food out, you've got to stop taking orders - having a driver arrive 50 minutes after they've already told Just Eat they've delivered it is abysmal service - eaten in house and great, had many other orders here before and also great, tonight is the first failure and I hope it never repeats, would be a shame to have to give up on a great restaurant because it's gonna arrive a little over 2 hours after placing the order to arrive.

Although the food tasted excellent and plenty of it it arrived 45 minutes later than when they said it would after leaving the restaurant so was Luke warm at best so in all food excellent delivery absolute rubbish
