Agra in Wiltshire

It’s the first time for years that I’ve been for a meal at The Agra. It was always good previously but I was blown away by the experience tonight. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and the decor had been updated and was elegant. The food was absolutely delicious. I had sweet chilli chicken with rice which was wonderful. I was in a group of 4 adults and a child and we all chose a different main course after sharing a selection of starters. Each dish was amazing and only my grandson could manage a dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will look forward to going back.

We came here as a family and even though the restaurant was nearly fully booked they prepared a table for us in 2 minutes. The waiters are friendly and the food was flavourful and delicious. The value for money was also great. We would recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Indian food.

We have used the Agra many times in the past and have always had excellent food and service. Unfortunately, last nights meal was a wash out. Chicken Tikka Biriani was Luke warm and tasted old, like it had been made earlier and then reheated. Chicken chat was cold and the puri was chewy. Bombay spuds were cold but tasty. Service was up to usual standard, so no complaints there. I do believe that, since the original owners have retired, the standards had dropped considerably and need to be addressed. This is not a “sour grapes” complaint, but merely an observation. I look forward to the changes that need to be made and hope that this is only a temporary glitch .

Excellent, the best Indian restaurant in Warminster and local area

I recently visited Agra Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by their delicious Indian cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a variety of dishes, from flavorful curries to aromatic biryanis, and each dish was prepared with the perfect blend of spices and ingredients. I highly recommend trying the Tandoori king Prawn, Butter Chicken, Tiger By the Sea, Cheese Chicken, which was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth with every bite. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food served. The service was friendly and attentive, ensuring our meal was enjoyable from start to finish. If you're looking for a taste of authentic Indian flavors, look no further than Agra Restaurant. I can't wait to return for another memorable meal!

They nailed it i was not expecting this much taste was confused it was first time trying their food but was impressive

We booked this restaurant as it's local, we were in shock/amazement when we arrived and expecting a drink, - it's not licensed! No mention of this, - when we walked in there were drinks on peoples tables, obviously they brought their own.... so we had warm lemonade with one ice cube... The food was equally disappointing very bland & no specific taste, the poppadoms weren't as light as one would expect. The restaurant itself is very dated and the staff weren't that attentive except when brining the bill followed by the card machine... - not one for us.

20 of us in one party, all served with hot tasty food by a very attentive staff. Thank you Agra for a very enjoyable evening. Will certainly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely awful, both dishes tasted the same, the sauce is mostly big chunks of onions, tasted like a pataks jar. Agra used to be the best around but this was truly rank.

As always, the food is fantastic and the service is 1st class.

The boss always give great advice , and makes ingredient adjustments to dishes. Lovely people !

Top quality food, excellent service, family had a great time

Service was OK and food was OK but spice levels are lower than you expect and I should have asked for hotter/spicer food. The drinks bill was a surprise, tap water was not an option and at £6 for bottled water I think they got it wrong but in fairness I did not bother challenging it

Food was really good and friendly staff

Nan very dry. Chicken tasted weird like it had been from a can. Disappointing since the base curry was tasty. Samosa was deffo frozen like from a supermarket bag.

Very unremarkable, chicken was watery with no flavour, rice was poor .. naan was nice

The food as always was great, however the potion sizes are rather small compared to the amount that you get whilst dining in the restaurant. The nan bread has also shrunk in size.

Staff were friendly but the food on the other hand was abysmal. The Korma was bland, the chicken tasted off and mushy. The onion Bhaji were disgusting and finally the rice was also mush and tasteless. Don't think I will consider ordering from here again.

Delicious food, hot and decent portions.

This is the first time we have ever had a bad meal from the Agra. Normally, the food is fantastic, but today is was not great at all. Didn't taste anything like ut usually did. Was very disappointed as it does cost a lot to treat yourself to a take away and just Didn't feel worth it this time. Like i said, every other time it has been fantastic.

We had a delivery to Longleat centre parc. Great food, great service. Will definitely use them again when we come back.

Food tastes awful, was so bad, I threw it away. Rang restaurant and all they would do is give me free meal next time. The chief should be ashamed and very unlikely I'll go back.

What a lucky find. 3 of us, old old friends, met here after lockdown for a much needed catch up. I chose it because it was equidistant between us. Luckily it served great food! Fab friendly service, too. Worth noting it's BYO. Shame it's not closer to me or I'd not hesitate to come back! Have been back here 5 or more times since my original review. Owner recognises us and is very welcoming & fun. Food still great, will be back again soon!

Rice was watery the curry was tasteless the chicken pakoras were not chicken pakoras the meat samosas we’re not handmade they were more like packet samosas not a authentic curry experience and not worth the price we paid delivery time was quick and the delivery person seemed nice but the food wasn’t was meant to have 20% off but got 5%

The curries were all watery. Not the usual standards of Agra at all.

Ordered Roti and Biryani. Roti was badly burnt and Biryani is no where taste like a Biryani. When I phone them, they did send Roti again.

Moved to the area six months ago and tried all the Indian restaurants in Warminster. Agra's friendly staff and great food won us over and we've had a takeaway from them almost every week since then.

Excellent delivery; 10 minutes early! However the garlic naan bread was almost stone cold - we warmed it up in the microwave but did expect it to be hot. Tapeli and chicken tikka bhuna was amazing 👍🏻

I highly rate this place. If your after top Indian food.. this is it. Not struck on the decor when I walked in but straight away looked after & shown to table. You bring your own drinks here & immediately asked what glasses we would like. Questions about the menu where answered immediately & we ended “off piste” with our dishes being created down to our tastes! Now that’s unreal service . Food arrived & was amazing. Nann bread is proper tandoor fired. We even had a free extra tasting meal! Value for money... 5 of us eat well with starters mains & accompaniments for £70. I was a lovely night & we took a doggy bag home for my breakfast😈 So refreshing too find a gem like this.

We had a call to say, they where full this eve, but we could eat there at 5.30 and have the table until 7.30, and as always we had a 10/10 meal! Thank you 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Great meal from very attentive staff.

Ordering was easy and collection bang on time. The rice was not what I ordered though, I asked for pilau and was given plain which I don’t like. The naan bread has shrunk in size these days and I had the chicken makhani which was tasteless. The onion bhajis were the best part. Disappointing for over £45!

Lovely food, but not as hot (temperature) as it could have been.

Food came very quickly on a Saturday night (50 minutes after ordering!). Everyone enjoyed their meal. What would really help with both the online ordering and the printed takeaway menu is a description of the dishes especially if they are a bit unusual or different to the standard takeaway dishes. I think it would really help with choosing from the menu.

Just had the best Indian takeaway ever! Ingredients 💯 taste 💯 freshness 💯 melt in the mouth everything This is my favourite restaurant for Indian food anywhere I’ve ever eaten Indian food!! Try it If you haven’t, it’s other level quality!

Homely-aura with a feeling which scratches the Southeastern Asia niche. Food - from what we ordered - was decent with a surprising lack of spice. Classic meals from India, such as the Chicken Tikka Biryani, tasted sublime, but other items such as the King Prawns, lacked the substance required for a subpar meal. Chicken overall was spliced well with spices and seasonings, but as aforementioned, I wished there had been a more spicy taste. In conclusion, definitely go here if your looking for a taste of Indian delicacies at a fairly-priced menu.

Always enjoy going to the agra great food, well priced and service is great, always ontime or early and always hot.

I'm not one to ever complain but this order was terrible. The seekh kebabs were stone cold in the middle, both chicken tikka masalas were luke warm and extremely bland, the madras was poor, both rotis were cold and like crisps. The lamb tikka was very nice though.
