Excellent food lovely people served. Loved the service, warmth and food.

Waited nearly 2 hours for food and when trying to call and find out where food is was having calls ignored. When it did turn up the driver laugh at how long it took and told us we’re lucky to even get food. Told him to return the food

Cannot fault the food, quality, nor flavour of the dishes I've ordered. Rarely find Chinese that actually has nice 'curry' and not a tasteless gravy. Enjoy the satay chow mein too, very nice. Overall, a place that I can give my business.

Lovely Chinese, however the delivery driver was the rudest women I have ever met !!

Just finished my last ever takeaway from the Hong Kong Chef as its Sam and Pauline's last day today after serving great Chinese fare for the last 41 years in Braunton. Years ago, I used to work at a take away pizza and Italian place. Whenever we would get a new customer, the boss would make sure they got the best food (plus a few extras) and service they could possibly get from us. He'd want to wow them and hopefully they'd be pleased and come back. White Rose Chinese obviously doesn't have the same ethos. First thing I noticed, the set meal for 4 (£54)was a lot more expensive than actually buying a load of separate dishes... That isn't normal, right? So I ordered my 6 or 7 dishes (6 people) and waited for the delivery.. Which was prompt and pleasant. The food on the other hand... Now either they'd ran out of ingredients, we're skimping to the extreme, or perhaps both. Not a single beansprout, water chestnut, peppers, spring onions, baby corn... A few mangy bamboo shoots, slices of carrot and onions. Swimming in sauces with a bit of meat. Hey, at least they still charged me full price. Well done. The lack of vegetables, and in particular beansprouts, was at its most notible when we cut into our large spring roll.. Or cabbage roll, as the White Rose served us. Horrible! Tiny portion of chips, large noodles and fried rice were far from large (remember when dishes came with rice or chips as standard?) and the sesame prawn toast wasn't exactly generous with the prawns. I've had thicker marmite. Disappointing. Ah well, they must have loads of customers as they obviously don't want me to return.

Unimpressed! Tells you to speak to staff regarding allergies. Asked for something to be made without soy. Only to be told that they don't do that! Wtfeck?!

Tried em once, never again. Not only because they are inflexible accepting only cash, but ordered beef bamboo had to be chucked away due to awful taste and very odd smell like from the chemistry lab.

Possibly the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. Came here as our usual place to go were on holiday. The staff were rude, the shop was grubby and the food just had no flavour to it. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.

Tasty food and reasonable prices.

Very disappointed with the Salt and Chilli squid. Cut in thin pieces and was very dry and rubbery. Only ate 2 pieces before binning. Shame as has been very nice before.

Friendly staff, quick preparation and very tasty food!

So disappointed. First time and the rice wasn't cooked properly, the sweet and sour sauce was watery and not like anything ive had in other establishments. Its a shame because the chicken in the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken peices were really tender. Will not buy again.
