The Shanghai Restaurant

Hoole, Cheshire West and Chester
27/05/2020: I have eaten Chinese food all over the world ,this place is a hidden gem , Kim the owner and staff are wounderful, thankyou sue & jane
13/04/2020: My name is Collin Wilson and I went there with my family on the 17th January and I found dog hair in my meal which I brought up with the owner and they said that’s how it’s served which was vile and the customer service was atrocious and the carpet smelled like rotten fish so definitely don’t go here!

Mr Chong

Disley, Cheshire East
10/05/2020: Love dining at the restaurant, and equally love the takeaway service, too!We have treated ourselves to a Mr Chong’s takeaway twice now since lockdown and both times the food has been outstanding! The staff are so friendly and have continued to be polite and welcoming even when just nipping in to get a takeaway.Thank you Mr Chongs for continuing to serve your customers and giving us even the slightest sense of normality.A really lovely treat amidst these horrible times.
26/04/2020: We always use Mr Chongs and have done since he first opened in the village. Food is always to the highest quality whether you are dining in or getting a takeaway. Under the current situation where the restaurant can’t be open for dining in the team are doing such a good job keeping up with the huge demand for takeaway. We ordered last night and had to wait a little longer than usual but this was to be expected. Massive thanks to al the staff for continuing to work during these hard times 5*

The Maple Tree

Marple North, Stockport, <20£
15/03/2020: Had a takeaway from the Maple Tree last night (Saturday 14th) absolutely beautiful food, so lovely to be able to have such high quality food in the restaurant, but also as a take out menu.
14/03/2020: Following the reviews here, we phoned for a takeaway today and oh my goodness, we were not disappointed. What a gem! Delicious starters, generous duck portion & yummy mains from the set menu. Only downside is that sadly we aren't local so can't order more frequently.

Sampans Oriental Restaurant

Woodhouse Park, Manchester
26/05/2020: My friend and I have eaten here a few times, and have always enjoyed the delicious food! During our most recent visit, we had the "Sampans" set menu, and I'd definitely recommend it.
15/03/2020: Ate here Saturday 14th of March. Got really mixed messages about the quality of food and the size of portions after reading some of the reviews. For us, the quantity is more than enough. Quality is excellent across soup, starter and main. Yes, at first glance and compared to take-a-way prices it may seem expensive, hbut you need to consider other issues. 1) nearest competition for Far Eastern food, is the pot noodle rack in the spar shop in T1 (cannot confirm quality or the cost). 2) has anyone considered how much the concessions are at the Crowne Plaza? (No).

The Zen Restaurant

Central, Fylde, <20£
04/07/2020: We had a take away, delivered for £2. Food was lovely. We had the mock duck as a starter which was very good.
29/02/2020: We booked Zen for our date night evening meal and decided to dodge the banquet in favour of our favourite dishes. After starter of steamed dumplings and prawn toast we had an excellent quarter duck with pancakes the for main we had crispy beef yung chow rice and roast pork in seasonal vegetables which means the freshest veg they have. It came to £55 including a pint and a half of sun lik beer absolutely brilliant food and service and price.

Michael Wan's Mandarin Cantonese Restaurant

Talbot, Blackpool, <20£
23/03/2020: We thoroughly enjoyed our first ever Mandarin takeout to celebrate Mother's Day! The order process was simple, the food was piping hot and ready for our delivery time. Thank you to the staff for a warm greeting and for the thoughtful Mother's Day gift! The food was delicious as always! We wish you all the very best during your temporary closure and we are already looking forward to our next Mandarin experience! Thank you and take care!
20/03/2020: Came here on a random stop and i was not disappointed. Service and food was excellent and the place is very well decorated and clean too. Would highly recommend and will definatley be coming again in the future

Mr Lau's Dim Sum Bar + Restaurant

Bewsey and Whitecross, Warrington, 45-60£
16/03/2020: Fantastic restaurant hidden away in warrington. Well worth a visit or 10 Great is very good value and beautiful.
15/03/2020: Mr laus is one of the best Chinese places I’ve ever been, the food is outstanding the selection of drinks is amazing and the staff are amazing they’re so helpful . Plus the atmosphere is amazing and cultural

The Rice Bowl

City Centre, Manchester
13/03/2020: I love the rice bowl, I think it might actually be my favourite restaurant in Manchester. The veggie selection is absolutely fantastic, the mock duck is probably the best one I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot) and the curry sauce is really interesting and unusual but delicious. It’s reasonably priced and has great staff and is overall a brilliant place to go!
09/03/2020: We're both rather fussy eaters and love all Asian Cuisine. The rice bowl definitely lived up to expectation, Prawn Siu Mai, Scallop Gyoza were amazing, vietnamese spring rolls nice but not exceptional. Mains we had sizzling Char siu and Chilli Beef and fried noodles, couldn't fault any, we cleared the lot. And the jasmine tea comes in a big pot so you don't have to keep asking for a topup.

Big Bowl Noodle Bar

Riverside, Liverpool
21/06/2020: High quality. Consistently excellent...with speed. Very good prices.I've been, literally, hundreds of times over eight years... and will go again hundreds more.Would give a 6 out of 5 rating if I could. Big bowl noodle soup is the best in the world. Get chill oil as well to to spice it up. Real home cooked food, you'd be a fool to not get on it.
18/06/2020: We ordered a take away with high expectations. We had some starter items and soup, which were great and put it in good mood for the rest of the meal. However the main was boring and bland. One of the sauce dishes just tastes like gravy. We were charged extra to have noodles with our meal which were massively overcooked, burnt and clumped. Considering this cost £30 for not a lot of food I am very disappointed and won't be planning on ordering here again.

City Centre, Manchester
19/04/2020: Been here with my partner, I must say it was a great experience, loved it. Will be visiting soon with a group.
18/04/2020: Really enjoyed our visit to tattoo, has a real contemporary feel both with the food and design of the restaurant....

The Coco Tree

Farndon, Cheshire West and Chester
16/09/2019: First time here - offputting glass & steel 80s flat office block set back (almost hidden) from the road, ground floor, but a charming space inside - little details like the large round bowl with fresh flower heads floating on the coffee table near the entrance. Absolutely lovely staff, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful & kind. We didn’t have a reservation but it wasn’t overly busy on a Monday night, we were offered a choice of table & chose one for 4 - good choice as there were a lot of plates. The food was absolutely delicious - the best onion bhajis, gorgeous tuna balls, good chicken tikka tandoori, all served with dressings and salad; lamb & Kerala fish curries with naan & lemon rice - everything was light and very well cooked: you could taste the salmon in the curry and it was beautifully cooked. Delicious chilli naan. Nicely chilled Chenin Blanc, decent Indian IBA and a killer mango martini. Puddings, no! Couple of tables of braying men, bit of swearing, not nice but not the restaurants fault & we didn’t raise it with the staff, near station & town centre so to be expected unfortunately I suppose. And the staff sat us as far away from them as poss. Lovely place, will be going back - perfect temp, low music, nicely set out in white with dividers, v clean, parking on road nearby or just outside if ur v lucky. Next time will be going for dhosa - giant things we saw going to another table, staff v kindly explained to us what they were. Really enjoyed it & happy to recommend. About £35 pp inc drinks
12/09/2019: We ate here on a busy Friday evening, and cannot find fault. All of our dishes were excellent, and the friendly efficiency of the staff added to our enjoyment. It is certainly not a bog standard curry house, more of a curry restaurant - I know that may sound a bit pretentious, but it really is worth visiting.

Dragon Palace

Reddish North, Stockport
29/06/2020: Simply the nicest Chinese food I have eaten. Always fresh and piping hot, sometimes a wait but you know it’s from fresh of that is the case ! Can’t wait for you to open again
27/02/2020: This is a nice and frendly place. Fast serving food. I would highly reccomend this place. I alway go for the happy hour. I give this place a 5 star raiting.

Phoenix Palace

Tuebrook and Stoneycroft, Liverpool, <20£
23/02/2020: Yet another gorgeous meal here. Staff are all lovely and food is amazing. We eat here regularly as a family and all agree it’s one of our favourite restaurants
08/12/2019: Food extremely good as always and excellent value , one of the best restaurants in Liverpool but one issue which is not good , the downstairs disabled toilet has no electric hand drier only a small towel to dry your hands which gets used and ends up wet , disgusting and unhygenic , perhaps new drier should be fitted same as one n upstairs toilet or maybe supply disposable paper towels

Hunan Restaurant

City Centre, Manchester
01/03/2020: Another great meal at this authentic and value Chinese restaurant. The set lunch is great value and served until about 5pm.
08/02/2020: Extensive menu reasonably priced, veven tbe drinks. Excellent food. Service a little quick but staff pleasant and helpful.

Hoya's Cantonese Restaurant

North Heywood, Rochdale
05/03/2020: I’m new to the area and it’s safe to say I have already found my go-to chinese restaurant. I have received great food and service every single time. Great selection of dishes on their menu - the salt and pepper chicken wings and Szechuan beef are my favourites. The staff are very welcoming and friendly - you will always leave the place with a happy face. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend it!
29/02/2020: Eaten here many times and always delicious. Lin and all her staff are very friendly and approachable. The food is exceptional and we always have a great night. We are usually the last to leave as we enjoy it so much and can’t wait for our next visit. Highly recommend.
