Thank you Station Cafe for a devine dinner! Had a fantastic meal once again, the individual dishes I had were a delight and cooked just perfect for my palet. Looking forward to next time. Delivery was punctual, well within the given time frame and no issues. Highly Recommended! ☆☆☆☆☆

Smashing Chinese. Incredibly consistent quality. Dishes the same great quality every time. As far as I can see, many of the poor reviews are relating to delivery time. Sadly an amazing takeaway like this gets very busy at peak times. I make sure to order good and early!! Good luck to the rest of you. :) I’ve tried all establishments in Hemel that serve Chinese food and this family are ace!

Not only was I overcharged compared to their published prices but the food was cold. The egg fried rice had no egg and the chicken was cold. Prawn toast also cold.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best Chinese food in town. I tried the Cantonese ribs for the 1st time with my order and I'm hooked. Very good portions, great value for money and the best customer service. Thankyou guys for amazing all round takeaway.

We placed a delivery and was told 1 hour and a half delivery. It had been 1 hour 45 minutes so we phoned and asked where it was and was told it was out for delivery. We live a 15 min drive max and it then reached over 2 hours and phoned once again to be told they couldn’t get hold of the driver but he was out for delivery. We were told we would get a phone call back but never did so we then had to phone again as clearly it was a lie and there was no delivery out. The woman we spoke to was incredibly rude and just spoke over us saying ‘do you want to cancel then?’ Over and over. There is no way they would happily cancel such a big order. So they had totally forgotten about an order that was over £60 and could not care less that they had just left us waiting for over 2 hours for food. We weren’t even offered a discount and then was left hungry and having to go elsewhere. We have ordered from them before and the wait time has always been awful but we have never experienced such disgusting customer service. I wouldn’t recommend unless you want to be left hungry and spoken to with no respect.

They told us it would be a 1 hour 10 minute wait for food to be delivered, which we were happy with and understood it’s Friday night so would be busy - but over 2 hours later and still no sign of the food despite calling for an update. It was well past time for dinner and we had already paid upfront so no opportunity to cancel. No compensation offered either. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking to eat something on the same day you order it, might take a while to actually arrive.

Just ordered from our favourite Chinese to collect and when I got my order I was surprised to see an Easter egg. What an absolutely lovely gesture. The food was lovely as it always is and pudding was lovely. Thank you station cafe and happy Easter to you all.

really covid careful staff with genuinely helpful menu advise. had several takeaways from here and were all excellent, hot and tasty

As a meat-eater I like this place, but tonight I was reminded why we use it so infrequently. For the vegetarians of my family it is terrible. Watery, tasteless sauces and dishes loaded with sloppy beansprouts. Other than a few slithers of carrot and some chunks of green pepper, the mixed vegetable stir-fry is just onion and beansprout. The Tofu dish was no better. We love eating out in Chinese restaurants, which can be fantastic for vegetarians, but I'm afraid Station Cafe falls far short of providing anything enjoyable for vegetarians. And with tofu, green beans, pak choi, broccoli there is so much that can be done so easily. I now have a grumpy family and we won't be getting Chinese takeaway for another four years!

Never had a bad meal. Always hot and tasty. Very friendly and have recommended it to many people who still go there. Great menu, reasonable prices, great portion sizes

So I found this amazing takeaway in April after my normal was shut due to lockdown, and wow what a great job I did, food is always hot, even though I live the others side of town, food tastes great, delivery drivers are friendly and very covid safe. My normal takeaway is now open but I'm not going back station cafe is so much better , had a delivery at least once a week in the last 7 months and never disappointed.

Had a takeaway last night with my family. Its definitely isn't the best Chinese in Hemel but not the worst. Ribs were horrible little fatty pieces and we didn't know the difference between the crispy chilli beef and crispy chilli chicken, both looked the same and tasted the same, which makes me wonder what meat it actually was. I will probably only order from here again if nowhere else is open.

We've tried a few Chinese takeaways in Hemel Hempstead & this is easily the best & now our favourite. Tasty hot food, friendly staff both on the phone and the delivery guys.

Got takeaway today having heard that this is the in Hemel. Well if this is best I’d rather not try other. The hot and sour soup was so sour that it was thrown away. It also sweet and tasted funny. The rest was just average.

As the name suggests the Station Cafe (Takeaway) is located just outside the Hemel Hempstead train station. It is ideal for those long days where picking up a takeaway on the way home is the way to finish off a tiring day. Service is prompt and preparation of the food is almost at the speed so that the food can be ordered, and then be ready by the time you have collected your car from the station carpark. Although as with anywhere Friday evenings can be busy. I have ordered a takeaway from here quite often now and it has been always good. My only slight gripe is that the menu states "All major credit cards accepted", but in reality it is Cash only below a certain limit ! .

It was my wife’s birthday last week and was recommended to try here for a change and as a avid trip advisor reporter and good reviews thought we would try it. Was very disappointed as lacking taste and everything looked the same colour. Crispy duck chow mein was soggy not crispy, the ribs were very fatty and all the dishes were very poor and tasteless. Was so looking forward to a great meal but was very disappointed and let down.Sorry guys not good......!!

We gave this takeaway a go after reading good reviews but we were really disappointed. The sweet and sour chicken balls were not fully cooked and the chow mien didn’t taste of anything. We wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Definitely the best Chinese takeaway in Hemel. Cooked fresh to order and always perfect! So fed up of bad Chinese takeaways and hadn’t been here for years but so glad we’ve rediscovered this amazing place.

Best Chinese in Hemel at moment I am fed up with the rest saying a time for delivery then turn up a hour late with no explanation

I have got to say that I do not think there is a better Chinese takeaway in Hemel. Every time we have ordered for home delivery the food has been excellent, always hot and we do not have to wait too long for it to arrive. We would recommend to anyone

Matey told us delivery was 75 mins so no problem with that but actually turned up nearer 2 hours. Food was lukewarm so had probs been in the car for a while. The dish with crab we ordered was merely crab sticks. Other dishes were average .Will not reorder from here.

I havent reviewed the Station Cafe for a while, ive used lots of takeaways for Chinese food, but i always come back to this one

Told it was going to be arriving within 1hr 15 mins. Finally arrived over 1hr 45 mins later. Cold aand some dishes swimming in grease. "Specials" are overpriced. Special dish described as king prawns with crabmeat, mushrooms and sauce turned out to be 2 king prawns, cheap crab sticks and greasy, slimy omelette- absolutely disgusting.When phoned to complain was told "that's how it comes". Infact, thoroughly tasteless. Disgusting- most gone in the bin. You live and learn!

nothing amazing, but edible. Would probably go there again, prices are reasonable but we felt we had eaten better at the Chesham Cottage for example.

Food ratings for this place are very good, Station Cafe has no Web site which only real down side and if having a delivery it's cash only. The meal I recived was very well worth the hour wait for food to come, it arrived hot and portion sizes was okay except for the half duck for £14 quid. Friendly service over the phone and delivery person.

Ordered a Chinese takeaway from the cafe at Hemel Station. The meal was great. If you haven’t tried it then order the combination starter. It was a meal in itself. Highly recommended.

An excellent place, probably the best in Hemel. Good range of dishes, great tasting, good value. Great variety, all the usuals and they will cook anything for you if it’s not on the menu.

We went at lunch time . Food hot . Tea hot . Very tasty . Only got half a portion of chips though compared to takeaway . Was expensive.

Hemel is rather short on the Chinese front in my opinion. Its cheap and easy this place - But they always seem to bulk out meals with vegs so you don't get a lot of chicken.

I saw a review below stating there’s not a menu that can be found and I had the same problem. I couldn’t find a website or online menu so I called the restaurant and they confirmed they don’t have either and asked me roughly what I wanted.

Food excellent and hygiene 5 stars. The quantities are generous. It is some time since having a meal from there and I was impressed. The lemon chicken was superb with lots of lovely lemon sauce and there was so much rice it could have served three. I'll certainly be going again soon.

Food was hot and fresh. tasty with ample portions at a reasonable price. They provide a good choice of Tofu dishes for vegetarians.

We were going to order a takeaway for me to collect on my way home from work on Friday night, both my husband and I found it impossible to find a menu online. Had to take our custom elsewhere. Surely an online menu for somewhere that is solely a takeaway is a must??? Very disappointed

We ordered two different dishes, the ingredients were fresh and the food was hot, however, it was almost completely tasteless. No salt at all had been used in the preparation and so it was very bland.

Quick and easy to order. Fast delivery. Prices that are affordable for the most amazing food. No oily or over cooked food. Would without hesitation eat from here again.

Went here with some friends after coming all the way from West London. I am a lover of Chinese food and this is the best takeaway that I have been to so far. The place is clean and well situated and the staff were really friendly. If only I could rate this 10 stars! The only improvement, get some sweet chilli sauce!

We often have a takeaway which I order in person. Never had to wait more than 10/15minutes and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. Not experienced anywhere better locally. What makes it excellent is the amount of meat in the dishes. Far too many Chinese takeaways seem to reduce the meat in their dishes, not so at the Station Cafe.

As someone who enjoys Chinese food, this is by far the best Chinesr takeaway i have ever come across. We headed there on 30.4.16 for a takeway and it was, as i expected, fabulous. They are even happy to accommodate our request for no added MSG, which one of our party has to be careful about. i cannot recommend this enough to lovers of Chinesr food. i will be going back, as i have many tines before. Their ribs are great and i love their roast pork chow mein.

Used many times, food always good. Service always good. Prices are reasonable. Have tried the delivery service and at weekends can be a bit slow - but hey ho not really a problem

Always use the station café for Chinese takeaway, handy for coming off the train at Hemel station. I recommend the crispy duck and pancakes.

The best Chinese take out I've had. The BBQ sauce is to die for, I buy extra, freeze it and add it to my own cooking.

Stop to pick up a take away. So nice food, I had orange chicken, wow factor! Went back Next night and got more, now our local takeaway. Excellent!

Very convenient for the railway station. Not bad quality for the price (quite cheap). Open quite long hours and never had to wait long for an order.

We stop here reasonably regularly for Chinese and it's what you'd expect. It's a handy location being next to the station so good for a quick stop to pick up a takeaway on the way home and the food is alright! Better than many of the Chinese takeaways in the Hemel area.

Very convenient for grabbing a takeaway when arriving back at Hemel Station but not one I would use as a regular takeaway establishment. The place is clean and tidy and the take away meals were quite good. Found the prawn crackers to be very stale. So many restaurants prepare these in advance and have them piled up. Very friendly and polite,I would use them again if using the station but not otherwise.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. They are also flexible about food orders. The food is cooked to perfection.It's uninspiring, but that's probably just my opinion of Chinese food.I thought cafe meant you can eat in? Not here!

Sat waiting two hours after making an order. They claimed to be busy and would be 80 mins. Called 20 mins ago and was told food was on the way. Now it will be another 10 mins and has apparently just left. They are liars and not interested in regular customers. Hope the food isn't cold when/if it arrives...

The food here was awful, I ordered foo yong which came warm and dis-coloured and the beef chow mein was like water with bean sprouts and chewy off beef... I actually didn't even eat it. The Crispy duck was burn! I would never order from here again, I was so disappointed after being recommended it... And it's wasn't cheap. :-(

Always had good food from here, easy parking outside, yes they're double yellows but only just, friendly staff who recommend other dishes you might like that are not on the menu too. It all tastes fresh and light, not greasy and stodgy.

Been using Station Cafe for years and we have never had a bad meal. Prices are average, portions are large, menu is extensive. Parking is an issue as it is in the main Hemel Hempstead railway station so I always take someone with me to jump out and pick up the food while I wait on the yellow line. This is the only downside but they do deliver.

I have been using this take away for many years and have never had a poor meal. Great choice and very fresh, never any feeling of things being cooked in old oil. A very friendly family run business. Good value for money and well worth a try.

I have lived in Hemel for 40 years (since I was born) I also used to work for many years near China Town in Soho. If there is a better chinese takeaway in Hemel I have yet to find it and its better than many in China Town. The food is very good and not greasy muck. I always pick up so don't know about delivery times, however, I just read another reviewer on here complaining that their delivery would take an hour "although it was 7.30 Saturday"...... Just about the most busy time of the week??? Of course it's not going to be there in ten minutes! I phone through and go to collect; 15 minutes later the food is always there ready and waiting. Prices are good, food excellent, what more do you want.

a nice chinese takeaway that can also deliver locally, a good selection on the menu which you can alter, add as you wish, i have found them very obliging and helpful.

We ordered a take away and collected as delivery was expected to be 1 1/2 hours although it was 7:30 in a sat. Sweet and sour pork (Cantonese style) was ok, pork a little fatty but sauce tasted nice. Pancake roll was not the best, a little bland and not much meat but the salt baked chilli king prawns were good. Overall the food was very average, ok and fills a whole but was a tiny bit disappointed as I was hoping for a little more.
