Great food and dishes from a Chinese cuisine. Definitely one of the best Chinese takeout options in Sheffield. Customer service also great and helpful staff. 100% recommend

Firstly, the staff here are hugely underwhelming. I'm pretty sure they will be paid to be there, but that isn't reflected in their tone. Ordered from here as our usual Chinese (which is Hong Kong Garden, just up the road at Banner Cross and is much tastier and cheaper!! Plus the staff are friendly) was closed due to holidays. Kind of wish I'd have taken that as a sign to make food at home.... Anyway, the food from here was promptly ready - perhaps the only positive. But, a meal was missing which I only realised once home. The food that we did have was bland (I mean really, really bland). The egg rice was worse than a microwaveable packet, the Prawn toast hadn't been anywhere near any crustaceans but had overly soaked up all the grease from the fryer. Spring rolls were dry and almost double the price from our usual, with less food. If you're looking for a reason to stop ordering Chinese takeaway for a bit, then go ahead and place an order here. The staff will demonstrate their dissappintment when you call too. Otherwise keep browsing for another, you'll thank me later.

Order here before in past, went back recently so good that I went back again night after, not my healthiest option but this place is seriously good quality food

Atrocious, I assume the positive reviews are from before the change in management. Tasteless, thin sauce covering a pale, stodgy batter around a questionable meat. Egg fried rice tasteless and partially cooked. The only positive was that the salt and pepper chips were reasonable.

He usado Zing Vaa nuevo durante más de 30 años, en promedio aproximadamente una vez al mes. Supongo que ha cambiado de manos recientemente y el muchacho se ha ido cuesta abajo. Las costillas solían ser carnosas y cubiertas de una salsa picante y pegajosa. En las últimas dos visitas ha sido como abrir un recipiente lleno de huesos y la salsa era tan delgada y acuosa que ni siquiera cubriría la carne que está allí. El arroz frito también era pobre, solo parcialmente cocinado. Realmente triste que se haya caído tanto.

The food is if restaurant standard and never fails to be tasty, with a large selection of dishes to choose from

We have been customers for many years, occassionally we try other providers but always return to the Zing.You can watch the cooks prepare the fresh food which is always delicious

I was looking forward to CHicken and King Prawn Pad Thai. Being health conscious I did ask if they could leave out the sugar. It's pre-mixed I was told. Ok, go with that. However, ONE King prawn-seriously? Thin shreds of tasteless chicken and NO satay sauce taste whatsoever, just an over-sweet taste. Very disappointing indeed. All for over £6. NOT authentic as I have been to Thailand twice and eaten the street food Pad Thai. I asked for the crispy seaweed without sugar too and it came full of sugar. Horrid.

I'm a vegetarian and gluten intolerant and I always have amazing food from here. Brilliant bean curd the best I've had and lovely people too. Amazing place.

This is a small take away on the far end of Ecclesall Road opposite Bistro Pierre. Ordering is efficient and food delivery if you are waiting for collection is quick. I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. I ordered BBQ spare ribs but these were ultra dry pieces of food that have not been anywhere near a BBQ. At the bottom of the container there was a tiny amount of presumably BBQ sauce but the sauce was grossly disproportionately small for the meat. My second item was pretty tasteless contained 2 prawns and some pieces of tasteless boiled chicken. I am sorry New Zing Vaa but you failed to deliver on taste on my visit.

A bit shocked how poor it was, been going there for years and could always rely on it for being good, it was watery and tasteless very surprising

This is a really tasty chinese but im tired of ordering from here and the food being cold when i get home. i live about 3 mins away by car - the food must be made far too early for collection. think my business will now go elsewhere.

New Zing Vaa is a small Chinese take away in the heart of Sheffield's food and drink centre. You might not notice it, except for the steady stream of customers entering and leaving. Otherwise, there s nothing to distinguish New Zing Vaa from dozens of other similar take-aways. That is, until you taste the food. It is fresh, bursting with flavour and totally memorable. I lived in Sheffield about 14 years ago and New Zing Vaa was my only choice for take-away Chinese food. However, I had not been back since. My husband wished to order his favourite dish from that time but could not remember exactly what it was, only that he loved it. As soon as I stood in front of the counter, the cheerful proprietor recognised me and told me what my husband's favourite dish was. She then told me what mine was and expressed regret that she had sold out that evening. I chose something else I remembered as very good and neither dish disappointed! My husband said the first bite of his shredded chicken with chilli and garlic transported him back across the years! My King prawn and vegetables and starter of salt and pepper squid was equally delicious. Thank you New Zing Vaa for being just as we remembered you when so much in Sheffield had changed since the last time we visited.

We have been going here for years and it never disappoints. Spare ribs with Peking sauce, Singapore vermicelli, crispy chicken with chilli and garlic, kung po chilli chicken, sweet and sour anything, hakf duck with pancakes and hoi sin sauce are all excellent.

Resplandor Vaa ha tenido recientemente una nueva gestión. Tuvimos varias tiendas durante las primeras semanas, me pareció aceptable. Hace dos semanas nos reservamos una mesa para cuatro (familia) y toda la noche fue un éxito. El servicio era de primera clase y la comida. El vino era igual a la ocasión. Habíamos usado el restaurante durante varios años... por lealtad. variaran La nueva dirección es muy atento y el menú es tan agradable. Esto es digno de repetir las visitas y sin duda será!

Probar este para llevar, es genial, la comida es deliciosa y un buen servicio rápido. Puedes llamar a tu orden recto y listo cuando llegues.

Rudo y brusco, mujer que en lugar de decir que tengo que pagar extra por pagar con tarjeta sólo grumped, señaló el cargo luego cogimos la máquina de tarjeta. La comida aquí es simplemente superior. Para mí es el de comida para llevar china. Waitrose La comida es fresca y sabrosa y el personal es genial. No hay opción de entrega. Usted teléfono y dar un tiempo cuando usted recoge su pedido.

No puedo hablar por toda la de Sheffield, pero yo diría que este es sin duda el mejor para llevar chino en la zona ecclesall. Nunca tuve un plato mal y variar lo que cada vez, ya que es delicioso! Como que vas a ver...

Really great takeaway. They are super accommodating, making special provision for allergies. The food is really fresh and you can watch them cook. Friendly and tasty!

Truly delicious food made very skilfully from the best and freshest ingredients. The food really is superb and we buy food from here regularly to eat at home in preference to going to out to a Chinese restaurant. They are consistently top class.

Always top value; never had a poor or substandard meal there over many years. Crispy shredded duck; spare ribs Peking style; shredded chicken/beef with chilli; Singapore vermicelli. All of these regularly ordered over time...all excellent.

I have used this take Away only as a second choice over recent years and last night re enforced the reasons why. I used the Zing Vaa as my regular place was closed I rang an order in for me to call and collect and I was told 20 mins I walked round to collect and was still waiting an hour later. The staff didn't seem bothered about keeping people waiting so long. The shop was full and they continued to take phone orders telling the callers their orders would be ready in 20 minutes. The food was only average a best I WONT be using this shop again as I am always disappointed when ever I do. SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

I have gone to this take away Chinese restaurant for over 10 years occasionally going to others when it is closed. The food is excellent and we must have had over 500 carry-outs over the years. The food is always fresh and I have never had a bad meal. I would recommend without reservation. The staff are very friendly also and you can watch the chefs cooking if you wish. I always order and collect and this works very well.

Usual takeaway. Had a pad Thai which was very bland and quite tasteless. Ground nuts add little to the taste. Peking sauce spare ribs are historic!!

The reviews on Trip Advisor are impressive, so I thought I'd have a go, despite New Zing Vaa being 2 miles away.Accepting debit cards is impressive, and I was pleased to see tofu on the menu.However, the food is whilst not awful, disappointing. I had tofu in kung po chilli sauce, which was bland and the sauce dull. It was generic and indistinguishable from many other take away dishes. Unfortunately, I won't be going back.

I decided to try this Chinese this week and was extremely disappointed. The restaurant has an open window which you can watch the chef cook your food. Needless to say I was absolutely disgusted to see the male chef regularly licking his fingers and putting them back into people's food without so much as a wash. I understand that it's important to test the food for flavour but in future please use a spoon as this goes against all health and safety and I do not know where you hands have been or what you are doing with them. Secondly, I ordered and chow mein and was very disappointed. Perfect place for a chow mein if you want hardly any noodles...A box full of veg and a runny watery gravy sauce poured all over it. Worst £17 spent in my life and will not be going back! There are other Chinese takeaways in the area that are a lot better...I recommend yum yum!

I have been coming to this takeaway for years and years, travelling half way across the city to do so. Though I can only comment on the vegetarian meals, my experience is that these are always fresh and very tasty. Also, given the quality, the prices are extremely reasonable. Highly recommended!

The quality of the food here is second to none and is better that main chinese restaurants in Sheffield.Good service and very welcoming.Only drawback is that they do not deliver and you have to collect. But still the only Chinese takeaway we will go to.

We regularly order take out Chinese from here I would recommend the spare ribs!! So tender and meaty!! Every time we order, we ask to make our dishes without onions and they do so every time without hesitation. Everything is freshly made to order.A********

First of all I am not a great fan of takeout food but on this occasion I was assured by a friend that this chinese/thai takeaway was excellent - she was right! The service, staff and quality of the food was excellent.I have been converted and will be back.

Can't fault the food, it was stunning. I did feel though, for the money, that the portions were small and there was only just enough to fill us - even though two of us were young children - but what we did order was cooked to a great quality. Ready on time, and you can see them cook it.

As the title suggests this is not my first visit, whenever I return to Sheffield I always try and pop in here for a take away! Food is always prepared fresh so be prepared to wait (it is always busy!) The food is always great, the special fried rice, crispy lemon chicken, crispy beef with chilli are all favourites. Definite recommendation if you are in the area.

As I chinese person, I highly rate this takeaway and always order from there. Best one around without a doubt!

We are never usually waiting more than 15 minutes (and that's from just turning up and ordering)The staff are always very pleasant and you can see them cooking through a little window (which I always think is a nice feature)Only thing is they don't deliver (this is never a problem for us though as it is just down the road)
