Great Wall in Sheffield

I would normally rate 5*, but recently we have found food to be no so good, changes to some products, that fall short of usual standard...such a shame as previously been our first choice for a takeaway.

When I'm off work I normally come here for my glorious salt and pepper munch box absolutely love it.

Very disappointed. Noodles were dripping in sauce. When asked, they said this is how it is. I never ate noodles this wet before. Wings and other items were ordered spicy but they were sweet.. ended up in bin

Ordered from here tonight, chicken chow mein was inedible, chicken balls awful, chips hard. Food ended up in bin. 100 percent will not be ordering from here again

Everything was dry and overcooked one of the worse meals we've ever had the order was wrong items were missing then was told we had to pay another 2:50 delivery if we wanted the missing items so glad we declined what a waste of money everything finished in the bin

Amazing food. My go to place for Chinese food. Quick service too, even when delivering! Always comes quicker then the quoted time 😋😋

Complained about re fried food then gave them another chance, delivery was twice as long as usuall and was at best warm. Been good in past for years I’ve been a customer but will not be ordering again. What a shame their going downhill

Great curry sauce and chips shame about the special fried rice it was full of vegetables and not much rice chunks of meat must be low on rice tonight.Avoiding the chicken a bit sloppy looking.

Me and my boyfriend thought we treat ourselves to a night in and a takeaway Saturday night and ordered from here we got a large egg fried rice and I got crispy shredded beef and he got a Thai chicken curry. I ate nothing for breakfast that day and felt fine all week. It started about midnight I felt sick and had an upset stomach. I was up 5 times in the night going back and forth being violently sick. My boyfriend started feeling ill Sunday afternoon and shortly after started with sickness and diarrhoea . We’ve only just started feeling better. Very very disappointed. Either things are not being cleaned properly in the kitchen or food is being cross contaminated. Been put off this which is a shame.

Tried this for the first time as our usual takeaway had changed hands. We now have found our new usual

Love buying the 'special box meals' displayed on the window before entering, as you can get a good amount of food in a box for about £5

We ordered a few weeks ago and everything was really nice. We returned this weekend and it seemed alright until later on and a food poisoning for all of us. Needles to say we will never use that venue again!!!

Good food, reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Food tastes great. We love the dry or Bbq ribs, curry dishes good as is the chow mein and the fried rice dishes. If you spend enough they give freebies.

I had to let you all know how highly I rate this place always constantly good! Good fresh tasting food always! They always send extra food or drinks FOC I’m glad I found this place! Also open on Tuesday night It’s a must try.

Very reliable and consistent Chinese. Absolutely adore this place, it's good value and it's great quality. Since moving to Sheffield I struggled to find a good Chinese takeaway untill I stumbled across Great wall. Since moving to the area tried the other two in the area and both are poor quality compared. Today when I ordered my total was £23.80 for three main meals they sent spring rolls for free and two drinks. It shows they look after customers in their area. Definitely the best in Woodhouse if not Sheffield!

Can't give 5 stars as that's just unrealistic. We often order from here and have never regretted it. Fast service good food, plenty of freebies if your order meets the criteria. The chrispy pork with pancakes, spring onions, cucumber and hoi sin sauce is particularly great. Highly recommend this place.

Used takeaway regularly, not any more waiting time awful phoned to check said on it's way waited another hour still no order phoned any they said that there wasn't any order. No apology won't be using again.

I ordered food on the 18th jan 2019 like I have done many times spending close to £30 each time had a couple of issues but nothing to really complain about but yesterday one of the dishes was half filled and the gravy had leaked out. I phoned the shop to be told that they would give the same dish for free next time I ordered but this was our tea and asked if they could bring a new one out that night, I couldn’t believe the response I got which was to return all the food and they would refund me but never to return to that shop but whilst having this conversation she kept on putting the phone down on the counter at least 4 times and talking to the costumers in the shop eventually after saying that I would give a bad review they did send another one out. Today I phoned the shop again to tell the manager and she told me that it was normal to put the phone down on the counter as Friday nights are busy which is ridiculous I’m a paying customer just like them in the shop so why treat me any different. The staff are appalling they’re alright taking your money but god forbid if there’s anything wrong on there part. Honestly they are so DISGUSTING to there customers. People be aware when ordering from this place. They are RUDE. VILE PEOPLE they should not be in this type of business if they don’t have good customer skills will NOT be ordering again. PEOPLE TRY JEWEL CITY AT HANDSWORTH a little more expensive but definitely tastier and the staff are lovely I only know this as ordered when Great Wall was closed

A little humble family activity, however if they are always busy there is a GOOD reason. It is our local supplier of chinese and tai food anytime we need it. :)

We love our food from here you have to ask them to make things to your taste which they do not mind doing we always order special chop seuy in oyster sauce strong and special satay strong have never let us down once . Even better they do children's pots of sauce ie,sweet n sour because my daughter would not have full size x service is quick and reliable x

We have generally been happy with the food here but on our last order it was a struggle when ordering, the vegetarian tofu dish came with pork, they had to resend the right dish back out minus any fresh rice. This is marked as vegetarian on the menu but had a strong taste of fish in the Szechuan sauce, I called to question but they said it was vegetarian. It tasted horrible and went in the bin along with my cold rice.

Disappointing and won’t be ordering again, was recommended this place so ordered thanking it would be nice but it wasn’t, it was very oily and the crispy chicken was that over cooked it was inedible

Always order from Great Wall, the best Chinese in my area in my opinion. However the egg fried rice was extremely salty this time round!

food arrived cold and it seemed it was under cooked, lack of flavour and rushed . which is not normal from this place. but has put me off now. unable to eat the food.

Regular customer for 3'years never had an issue ith food or service until tonight food was extremely salty (twice as much as usual like extra amouts of sakt had been tipped in) and when I rang to query why my order was still not delivered an hour ad half after ordering just 3 basic things the staff was extremely rude ... if this is what this takeaway is now time for a change ... if I could give a zero for this order I would!!!

After being disappointed with our regular Chinese after they changed hands, then tried another but just didn't enjoy the food, it was great to find this place as the food was delicious. Some more rice/wheat noodles dishes would be fab though!

Pedimos a través del servicio online de hambre y me dijeron que la entrega de la casa sería en un tiempo de horas. Les dimos el beneficio de la duda que era sábado después de todo. Llamó después de una hora y media y me pidieron la dirección que tuve que repetir varias veces. He oído a la chica grita teléfono a alguien podemos hacer el pedido siguiente. Cuando me preguntaron que tenía incluso que ella comenzó a cocinar no contestar la pregunta y dijo que será de 10 minutos. No hay disculpa ni nada. Creo que quizás necesitan verificar con más frecuencia sus pedidos en línea. La comida estaba bien, pero sugiero que si quieres conseguir comida en un tiempo razonable ir al restaurante en sí. Sería mucho más rápida.
