I found Meiwei on Deliveroo. Was completely blown away by how authentic some of the dishes were and am now a devoted fan. Yes, it is expensive, but what a treat to have authentic China as close as Putney. Ignore the miserable reviews on here and order yourself a delivery. We stopped going to Meiwei after a bad takeaway that tasted like petrol a few years back, but gave it another try several months ago. We have dined in and had takeaways a few times since. Cannot fault the food, very tasty. The restaurant has been done up since we last went a few years ago - not exactly high end but nice enough and better than it was. The service is excellent both on site and ordering on the phone, they read your order back to you to confirm it, which a lot of places don't bother with any more. One downside is their website. Its not very easy to use, you get all the way to the point of confining your order only for it to tell you that they can't take online orders - it has been this way for several months now. Also the prices online are not up to date. Our latest takeaway ended up being about £20 more when we went through the receipt than the website prices suggested. Really needs updating.

A member of staff at the restaurant was very rude and didn’t make me feel welcome or wanted at all. Very disappointing

This restaurant uses the roof as a driving range, smashes local windows, lack of control, danger alert! Please watch out for flying balls from the Chinese restaurant - they are dangerous, this could have hurt someone!

My friend ordered a delivery for our team in Barnes. Not only did the food arrive on time, and piping hot, but the restaurant phoned beforehand to say it had been despatched, and phoned afterwards to make sure it had arrived ok. We had quite a selection of meat and vegetarian food and all of us scored it as excellent.

The duck is delicious. Also the first sum is tasty. My favourite is the cashew chicken. The menu is enormous and there are so many lovely dishes.

Delicious food, ordered half a Peking duck and mapo tofu, both were delicious. Would definitely order again.

We ordered fried beef noodle, lamb, westlake beef soup, wunton soup, special fried rice and two dimsums on 18 August. The beef and lamb are not fresh and very chewey. The fried rice look very different from their picture of menu, taste funny like overnight rice. They charged 12% more service charge on top of their price which is almost double that in Chinatown. The only waiter who worked there said the service charge is for their boss. Horrible tastes and unreasonable charge.

Meiwei is our local Chinese restaurant and We are lucky to have them . Went with a large multi generation family group for a Chinese New Year lunch and had an excellent experience as usual despite it being very busy Every dish we ordered was served promptly , was piping hot and delicious Service was charming and with a smile and it was great to see the full house as for our last visit , they were very quiet I’m sure they get a lot of local take away and delivery business but far nicer to visit an airy elegant and well lit room We stuck to the more obvious dishes but they cater for those with more adventurous tastes and prices are very reasonable for the quality

We often go up to Chinatown for a xmas dinner, but the trains restricted us, so we went to Meiwei instead. Really plsd we did because the meal was just as good as any we have had in Chinatown. Nice clean, well lit restaurant, with varied menu. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - we asked for some xmas back ground music which the very kind staff sorted out for us. Don't miss the Peking duck, a classic. This is just the type of restuarant we need to make successful.

I’ve been to this restaurant with my partner and we both loved it. We had brilliant service and the food was delicious. I’ve also ordered plenty of times from here (definitely order on their website not delivery sites) and it’s been amazing. Even if you have a special request on delivery they make sure to complete it and are always happy to help. Phone them and they are lovely! One of the best Asian restaurants in London Worth a visit with couples, big groups or just yourself!

Had a home delivery which was superb so had to come for lunch!! Fabulous restaurant, great decor, gorgeous food, good size portions and reasonable cost. The best thing though was the service - so so nice and very attentive. Will definitely be back !!

I have been to this restaurant twice now and the first time was fine, average but fine. So we where there on the 19/09/2019 and we ordered a variety of dishes the pork belly being the one in question here, it came out burnt and super dry as you would imagine. We sent that one back asking for another and they did just that, took around 3 minutes to get a new one out which to me means its not very fresh. That aside it came and we had about 4 pieces of that and it was also just as dry as the last. So we said to the person serving which i assume is the manager or owner that is was not good and we will not eat that. They brought the bill and the dish was on the bill, we asked for it to be removed as we hardly had anything out of the 2 portions that came out. He would not remove it as his response was "cause you asked for the same dish again, you need to pay for it" So what he is saying here is even though it was not good its not their issue cause we ordered a second dish. This was very poor customer service as you would not be expected to pay for poor quality food especially if they couldnt get it right the second time. Very disappointed with the service.

Most authentic, tasty and friendly Chinese restaurant in SW London. I go here all the time. Very reasonable prices too. Can only recommend.

The food was on the whole good, though I have to say I was surprised when my Lemon Chicken had no sauce. The Lemon sauce was brought out separately, ultimately it was drier than it could have been. The service was good, thought the waiter was distracted with dealing with deliveries, and problems he was having with the kitchen. This didn’t really help the ambiance, when you could hear the arguments in the kitchen. I seen some reviews about it being unclean, I didn’t see any evidence of that, i did however note areas were a bit untidy, like where the keep the tablecloths and behind the counter etc.
