So expensive for what it is. Would expect top notch for that price but is a bit meh. All a bit bland except for the spicy dishes which taste of raw spice. Better options out there for half the price.

Why did I not look at reviews first. I ordered on deliveroo who highly rated it as 4.8 I paid over 100 for 5 dishes and two were noodles which were disgusting and tasted burnt. Vegetarian sweet and sour only a quarter of a dish out and out robbery. Do not use this restaurant.

This is a takeaway restaurant, don't come here for ambience or setting. Order from your home and know that you are receiving quality Chinese food. Apparently no MSG which is more than can be said for others. Always reliable, always arrives on time and the flavours are the same week in, week out. The reliability, combined with the level of food and quality of dishes is why we order here. Great food

Good food but very expensive for what you get. Whilst the quality is good and the food is very tasty, it's hard to give it 5* when the quantity is much less, and the prices much higher than from peers. I will order again, but only rarely as a treat

A bit on the pricey side but a great option for when you want to spoil yourself! The vegetarian options are great!

I was told this is one of the best Chinese takeaways around (by someone who had been to the one in Esher) so I gave my local branch a try despite the high prices. Ordered with Uber eats spending £100 for four people expecting the food to be a level above your standard takeaway but it was much worse. Crispy duck was nothing exceptional and that’s as good as it got, the fried chicken in chilli sauce was actually just plain wings with lots of sugar and honey poured in and no spice, 4 pieces of prawn toast for a tenner is insane, 7 pounds for egg fried rice with clumped egg and white rice, and the mixed starter was also very hit and miss. We ordered ribs and got something else entirely, and to top it all off the order was over an hour late. Safe to say we won’t be back anytime soon

We try to order here once or twice a month - it’s our favourite treat. The salt & pepper oyster mushrooms are unreal! As are the French beans and the beef dishes.

Always great food and if you call them they are very accommodating with dietary requirement. Very friendly and quick to answer the phone. Will keep ordering weekly from here!

Ordered via deliveroo and for the quality it was not close to being worth the money - £50 for 3 dishes. Definitely would not recommend.

Ordered a take away collection for the first time and everything exceeded our expectations. From the friendly professionalism offered by Tim who took our order over the phone, to the speediness and skilled food preparation of the kitchen staff. This place should not be overlooked if you are looking for top quality fresh and tasty Chinese cuisine. You definitely get what you pay for, high quality food and service.

I ordered the house special fried noodles tonight. They used to be about £11 but are now £14 and I noticed that although they were delicious there were considerably less in the takeaway box to the point that it was noticeably light. Higher price, less food, not happy!

I had ordered prawns and they was undercooked. They literally cooked it within 5mins, I had to dash the food away

I have been going to good earth for many years but unfortunately now I have no choice but to leave this review. It’s pot luck weather your food is nice or not nice. Beef is burnt 70% of the time. The only reason is that it can be resolved with a few phone calls and a credit on the account. But sometimes you just want nice food and not to be complaining all of the time for a expensive Chinese the wuality is not always there

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Ordered from Uber eats, they marked the order as delivered after 5 minutes and then proceeded to say the order won’t be getting delivered as they’re too busy and closing soon. Uber can’t help and it was never delivered.

It seems they have sadly recently changed the protein in the vegetarian meals, which is nowhere near as nice. So we’ll probably be going elsewhere, which is a real shame as what they used to use was delicious!

Excellent Chinese! Really good quality and proper food. Not greasy at all and doesn't sit bad in your stomach like other Chinese takeaways do. We live near by and have been 5/6 times and each time it's been excellent. The starters are big and the mains are great portion sizes too.

Highly disappointing. Probably an extra £20 in cost (coming in at £44 compared to our usual £25-£30 spend on the same stuff) and frankly lacking in flavour. The ribs were the highlight (although not according to my girlfriend!), but both the beef with black bean and sweet and sour prawn were lacking in flavour and that 'wow factor' i thought we'd be getting with the extra spend as a treat. The portions were also pretty small. We won't be ordering again, sorry guys.

Order for the first time via deliveroo. I wish in hindsight I looked explicitly and some of the reviews as meal was subpar. Chicken and sweetcorn soup - lacked flavour, I had to add a condiment or two for some oomph. Additionally it had an excessive amount of fat/slime which may understandably be to give flavour/body to the soup but giving the huge quantities of gloop it was just off-putting. The Egg Fried rice - for such an easy dish, I can not fathom any suitable reason for using rancid eggs in the dish. Beef in blackbean - pretty typical/standard dish to get from the Chinese place. Not my favourite but was playing it safe. Taste nothing like traditional blackbean sauce sorry. There is a flavour to it that I'm just not keen on at ALL. Very disappointing as it was a decent portion but don't see myself eating another plate. I ordered their chilli sauce. What a joke. Straight in the bin. Not authentic, looked like something from the chippies. In summary the only saving grace of my order was the aromatic duck but I love duck and was even underwhelmed. I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. I paid a pretty penny and for the price there are way better options.

It's alright. The vegan chicken is nice but nothing amazing which you would expect for the price. Seaweed/cabbage is almost £7 which is crazy. They have ok vegan options but nothing exceptional. Maybe I'll try the wandsworth common one next time

Over priced bland pink chicken

Generally fantastic, chow mein is a bit disappointing, menu needs to be larger and change occasionally. I'd go for the butterfly prawns, hot n sour soup and monkfish with rice and mixed veg on the side. I tried the pad Thai and they haven't quite got it right, doubt they have a Thai chef there but it's ok anyway. Delivery can take a while because it's popular.

The vegetarian chicken is so good. If your a veggie and looking for a non greasy Chinese with very good mock chicken this is the place! A little expensive but a great treat. :) more veggie chicken dishes please would be so great! :)

We find the portion sizes leave us satisfied and the quality far, far better than average in terms of freshness and quality of ingredients. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite and paying that bit extra seems fair for such a great product and service in our opinion.

Overpriced and overrated. Double the price of other Chinese places in the area and portions are very small, thought 2 mains between 3 would be enough (as it usually is with Chinese takeaway) but it wasn't. The itself food is OK, marginally better than average Chinese food, but doesn't warrant the price.

La comida para llevar de Good Earth el viernes pasado (02/082019) la noche de esta calle de la sucursal de John's Hill fue terrible, la mayor parte fue directamente a la basura porque mi familia no podía comerla. The food was absolutely lovely, one of the best chinese I ever had. But! I was really upset about the portions, its not what you paying for, its literally kids portion. :( Also the staff wasn't much aware what is in vegetarian dishes, had to explain that tofu and soya is something completely different.

Echoing a previous comment, the aromatic duck is fabulous... but that's about it. I bought their seaweed which was no where near crispy. They sell canned drinks for a ridiculous £2.10 (it didn't indicate the size, so i assumed for that price it was a 1.25 ltr bottle). Once i find a better Chinese takeaway that can offer the same quality aromatic duck with pancakes, i'll switch. I find them over-priced for no reason.

I had take-away from this place, being attracted by the claim in the window that this was voted the best Chinese in London. No idea how that happened. The food is average at best, very bland and non-descriptant. At the same time, it's rather expensive for Chinese take-out. Would not recommend.

Very difficult to get a Chinese meal delivered that is actually worth eating. This place is expensive, takes awhile to deliver but the food is the closest restaurant quality you will find. Until I find anywhere better I will stick with this place

One of the better Chinese takeaways I've had. Aromatic Duck was decent. Don't often do Chinese takeaways as not had many good ones but this was good.

We have eaten from here, all takeaways,a few times and it is by far the best Chinese takeaway around. However, we ordered out usual yesterday and was not up to the usual standards as before. Maybe a new chef? Would love to see the standards return.

For some reason the food isn't as good as the restaurant chain, yet you are still paying premium take away prices. There are better take away Chinese. It;'s always popular because of the brand, but wouldn't bother again. Tried twice

Tasty takeaway food, but on the expensive side. Quick service, very efficient. Always feel very thirsty afterwards, so suspect too much salt or MSG, but hard to resist the chilli squid!

we've been getting takeaway from here for over 10 years, maybe 10-20 times a year. Food and service has been a bit up and down but generally better food than most of the local Chinese, albeit at a price. Last Friday we got a delivery and paid cash. In the middle of eating got a call saying could we pay, so my wife explained we had paid cash and they said ok. A couple of hours later the doorbell went and there was a different delivery driver demanding payment. I said we had paid, which he disputed so I told him to get lost. My wife called Good Earth and asked for the manager, they hung up on her. I called back and got the manager (I guess didn't recognise my number) and complained about what had happened, in particular a man in a motorcycle helmet turning up on my doorstep at night demanding money. Instead of apologising the manager again disputed that we had paid, so I told him where to go. About 15 minutes later he called my wife to apologise as he could now see we had paid but there had been 'a mix up with the tickets' - fine, but sort it out don't repeatedly accuse a good customer of being a liar and send people round to their house unannounced. Goes without saying they will never get another order from me and whoever at Good Earth appointed this joker to manage the St Johns Hill branch had better rethink before they lose all their customers.

Have had take away from here so many times over the years but tonight, for the second time, was almost inedible. I had hoped that last time was a one off but clearly not. All of it cold or lukewarm at best, soggy squid (is usually crispy)and nothing like the quality we have had before. Reluctantly will have to stop ordering from here as it isn't cheap either

We placed an order and was told it would be 70 minutes,which is not unusual for a weekend. It arrived within half an hour,very cold ,not our complete order,chunks of fat in the lamb and basically very disappointing,been using it for years,

Very pricey been ginger there for a very long time we initially loved the food etc but now there are so many other choices so we don't crave doe it that badly

Have ate at another Good Earth which was very good so was a bit nervous ordering from this site as i had no experience, the food is DELICIOUS, the service is EXCELLENT, two key components to having food delivered!

Solía ser un regular en buenos restaurantes tierra pero he tenido algunas malas experiencias un tiempo atrás, así que pensé que le daría un Express y ver si eran mejor. El servicio de recepción/era en el mejor de los casos, intuyendo, pero estaba realmente sorprendido por la mala calidad de los platos sencillos. En primer lugar están llenos con tapas de barata de celofán sellado, así que los platos estaban fríos POR EL TIEMPO QUE ME DIERON ellos a casa (15). La carne en salsa de frijol negro fue de esos tipos antipáticos, empalagosas, un lodo amargo con re-rebanadas de carne cocinada barato, duro. Su cerdo dulce y agria era un gloopy, cieno vinegary con cerdo demasiado maltratada. Donde yo vivo tengo la dicha de tener numerosas de buena calidad para llevar, y este no se acercan a cualquiera de ellos. Y todavía. £9. 40 por plato! ! Casi el doble de precio. Tienes que tener más dinero que el sabor a molestar en ir a estos lugares. Simplemente horrible. Evitar.

Siguiendo mi mala experiencia de un caro pero enormemente decepcionante para llevar de Battersea nos invitaron a asistir a el restaurante wandsworth common. El director escribió preguntando qué había ido mal anteriormente y parecía interesada para poner las cosas bien. He tenido buena anteriormente comprada la rama wimbledon que eran buenos, como el restaurante en Esher.

Muy sorprendido con el pad thai, que era crudo pollo independientes en el medio. Además de esto también nos quedamos muy impactados con la reacción del gerente en la tierra buena que decía que no era solucionar y tuvimos que contactar nuestra empresa entrega a solucionar el problema. He tenido muy buena comida en la sucursal wimbledon antes. Pero esta noche he tenido más de 70 libras de comida para 3 que estaba hurrendous. La carne de las costillas era apreciado por Lucy, nuestro amigo de cuatro patas. El principal campo de probado recalentadas.

Good food, beware that at peak times you will be waiting a good while

Tried to order from this takeaway so many times and it never seemed to work. The restaurant appears on a few food apps and the order never submits through to the restaurant. An error appears on screen saying the restaurant is closed when it is open. For the price you don't get the service.

Tenía una buena colección de tierra para llevar el último fin de semana y lo disfrutamos más. El niño pequeño era la mejor que hemos comido jamás! También teníamos un plato de verduras realmente delicioso fresco y algunas hojas de lechuga pollo servido en. El pollo frito arroz fue decepcionante y bastante arroz cocido con algunos anémicos buscando pollo mezclados.

Nunca probé hasta ayer. La calidad de los ingredientes era obvio. Pasamos los langostinos, cerdo, fideos y arroz, y cada uno estaba perfectamente cocinado, experimentados y presentada. No es barato, pero ese no es el punto si quieres algo saludable y bien preparada. Los fideos Singapur son los mejores que he comido, y he vivido en HK por algún tiempo.

Very consistent good take away Chinese food. Of course food's always going to be better / fresher in a restaurant but this is probably the best Chinese take away in the area. Recommended.

Best ever never go anywhere else

Took 2 hours to arrive, got the order wrong and tried to charge us more than were quoted.

Have ordered from here a handfuls of times. Using the adjective express is disengenuous, it takes at least an hour to turn up and is lukewarm when it does although it is nice. Last night we ordered and 1hr45mins later it had not left the shop. Over priced and with a high opinion of itself. When we dined in the Wandsworth common branch one time the waiter essentially required as to how much money we made by asking our professions - pompous and overpriced, don't feed their egos any further by putting trade their way.

1h 30m delivery time. Bland, expensive food.

I have eaten at the Good Earth restaurant in Esher which was fantastic. This is the first time I have tried Express and it was completely underwhelming. Most of the dishes were average, with the lemon chicken having a lemon sauce that tasted artificial to our tastes. The ribs were tough and dry and most of them went in the bin!The prices are high compared to other outlets and definitely not worth the premium. We would not order from Express again.Had we tried Express first we would never have bothered to try the Esher restaurant. My advice is to avoid the Express but definitely try one of the restaurants.

I've eaten in Good Earth restaurants (mainly Esher) for 25+ years and have loved the food. This was the first time I've tried an Express and it will be the last because the food was average in absolute terms and poor given the price point they're in. If they'd delivered the food that Good Earth restaurants usually deliver, it would have been a different story. The food was forgettable. The sesame prawn toast was generous in size but didnt come with any soja sauce which is how they'd serve it in house. Why not? The kung po chicken was heavy on a vegetable (leek? Wasnt really identifiable). The fried rice was uninspiring and frankly light on its ingredients (I've had much tastier, less dry, fried rice with more veggies, meat and seafood for less from other places). The pak choi was drowned in some gloop (never seen pak choi served anything other than with a very light sauce before, this wasn't light at all). I would have given it an average if the prices weren't at the premium end of take aways. This was a disservice to the brand. Skip it.

Good Chinese food slightly more expensive than your average take away but well worth it as they use good quality fresh ingredients and cook them well.

This place has to be the best Chinese take away in London. The food is amazing. It's about a third more expensive than normal Chinese take away, but worth every penny. The sweet and sour prawns are giant and to die for as is the crispy seaweed.

Don't bother with this place. They have automatically declined my online order twice without any explanation, and when you try and contact them on the phone about it they are constantly engaged. Rubbish service

I am always a bit dubious about Chinese takeaway food - visions of sugar coated greasy meat based in sauce so thick it can actually be described as 'gloop'.The Good Earth Express in Clapham is the best takeaway I have every had. It is really fresh, clean, really tasty, and you don't feel dirty after you've eaten it! It is a little more pricey than most...probably because they don't sell the afore mentioned gloop.

Really tasty food, but small portions, expensive and I would advise going to collect rather than having it delivered as it can take hours to arrive and countless phonecalls to chase up

We have ordered from here in the past, the food is always good and the delivery has always taken a while, most of the time about an hour, which is ok, just need to plan ahead. However our last order took over 2 hours. When we called and placed the order we were told our order would be about 45 minutes. I had to call them 3 times to find out where our food was and at one point they said the driver had left with our food, 30 mins later still no food.Whilst the food is good the service is not. In this case we were given our order for free but we shall not be ordering from here ever again. The delivery times are just not worth the wait for what can only be described as over priced food. Yes dishes cost over £30.00, too pricey in our books.

Always sceptical when it comes to a Chinese take out only place opened late.However not any more. Had the duck pancakes and the duck was very moist yet still crispy. Excellent and at last they give you enough hoi sin sauce.Then also had chow mein, chicken black bean, noodles, egg fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken. All very good and I know it's not, but seemed healthy as not your usual grease.Everything was fresh and highly recommend giving it a try.I feel sad saying this but I do enjoy sweet and sour chicken balls but this place doesn't do them as they are more up market I'm told. Oh well I guess I will have to move on.Will def be back.

We had an excellent chinese takeaway from here whilst staying in London for a few days. It is very busy, which is always a good sign. The quality of the food was more like that in a restaurant than the normal quality you would expect of a chinese takeaway. We enjoyed it so much, we ordered another meal a few nights later. The food is a bit more expensive than we would normally pay for a chinese, but you do get what you pay for and it is well worth the extra expense.

Don't understand the review about the service. Been here five or six times and it's always been friendly and very prompt. It is, however, expensive. Basic boring dishes are fine, but uninspiring. More interesting dishes don't quite work well enough in my opinion to be worth the premium. It's all perfectly nice, but don't expect to come away thinking you've had good value for money.
