The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

The last time we were here was back in October 2023. Food was an acceptable standard. One dish we ordered was Beef HoFun. Unfortunately, rehydrated HoFun was used, which wasn't an issue. But on this occasion, the HoFun wasnt properly rehydrated, as a result, it was soft on the outside and hard on inside, like under cooked rice. Every eatery deserves a chance so we thought it was just an oversight. We visited again today for lunch. Big disappointment is an understatement. Food was of very poor standard. Egg tarts appeared to be from yesterday's (Chinese New Year) shift.. Oil used to deep fry the dim sum dishes we ordered definitely was old/tainted oil, which had been used to fry lobster/prawns. The roast pork belly again was most likely from yesterday's shift. The rice texture gave me the feeling it was microwave reheated. Certain steamed dim sum had the appearance/taste of frozen ready made fare from Chinese supermarkets. The service was poor and attention to detail was non existent. A waiter brought back a refilled teapot. Spilled an amount on the table and walked off. Leaving us to deal with the mess. Not a big deal, but to not acknowledge the accident wasn't very professional. Overall, it was a poor show at best. Waiting staff definitely need training, as for the food, I can only say that they need to raise their game.

Best in the area. Great portion sizes. Originally started to use the Welcome Inn when we found out the previous owners of the Evergreen at Fram were here, they have since retired but the food is still great. Recommended

Normally I am quite a positive person and my reviews normally match that but, in this instance, f I could give zero stars I would!! This is by far the worst Chinese I have ever eaten or ordered from. The food was late (took almost two hours in the end to arrive) and when I phoned to query the first time (over an hour since ordering) it was quite obvious that they hadn’t even started the order. Twenty minutes later I phoned again and was told that as I wasn’t a regular customer I couldn’t expect any prioritisation. No, I wasn’t expecting to be prioritised, just to get my food when it was supposed to turn up!! When the food finally arrived it was inedible!! The sweet and sour sauce just tasted of vinegar, the lamb was actually beef, the Foo Yung was dry and tasteless! Such a disappointment after waiting so long… With such rude service and awful food, there is no chance of us becoming regular customers. We will not be returning! Avoid at all costs!!

Best Chinese takeout round here and I live local the food is never disappointing and the service always comes with a smile so just give it go even if your visiting

I had the same experience regarding the cash only issue. They clearly are playing the system as they used to take credit cards and now they dont. I'll use somewhere else in future.

Golden Sun has been good to our family for over 2 Decades!! The food has always been amazing, definitely a hidden gem. If you’re in Manchester and fancy a Chinese, this place is the one. If you call in advance, there are never any wait times like the other reviews mention..

take away was appauling in bin took chicken satay skewers back they were raw not cooked attitude of staff appauling took bag out back messed about untill chef said give refund will never use u again so much salt in rest of meal appaulingh attitude will be reporting this to health and safety if a kid ate this i dont like to think your chef needs re training used for years worst its ever been nearly £30 in bin

Ordered tea here for the first time. Food was lovely and good size portions. However the young girl behind let my experience now as soon as I walk through door she wanted to know what I wanted before I was allowed to browse menu then she spent most of the time playing or talking on her phone ignoring customers

Our first chinese takeaway since moving here from Wales and the only one that seemed to be open on Tuesday. The salt and pepper chicken wings were excellent as well as the Hot & spicy Singapore Vermicelli. Will definitely use here again. The girl serving is also very pretty😊

The best Chinese takeaway food around and reasonably priced too. We’ve been buying from here nearly every week for nigh on 35 years and the quality has been consistent for the whole time. I can’t recommend it enough.

Poor food. My husband and I ordered a duck and chicken chow mein as main dish and only a minute amount of chicken/duck in each. However, not the chief concen colour of cow main was dark red/black so amount of dye in soy sauce excessive. Never in my life have I had a chow main that colour before I felt sick to the stomach. 2nd dish salt and pepper & chilli prawns. Enough chilli to make u run to the cold water tap. I have ordered these from other venues and never with this outcome. Obviously novice chef just sprinkling loads of chilli over top ad lib!!! 3rd dish ribs - ver good thank goodness as I would have starved!!

On our recent visit to London, we were staying in a hotel which was close to Tooting, that's when we crossed this market. I am very fond of visiting local markets and I'm so happy i went in this time as well. There are multiple small restaurants which have many meal deals and food offers with seating arrangements. There are even shops selling vegetables, meat, clothes, flowers, artifacts, salons and many more. A must visit place.

My order tonight was very bad not cooked the chicken was raw and smells like bad eggs I would like my money back please so bad the food so bad and last week my husband had someone teeth in the food
