Happy Cook in Wiltshire

Normally I am quite a positive person and my reviews normally match that but, in this instance, f I could give zero stars I would!! This is by far the worst Chinese I have ever eaten or ordered from. The food was late (took almost two hours in the end to arrive) and when I phoned to query the first time (over an hour since ordering) it was quite obvious that they hadn’t even started the order. Twenty minutes later I phoned again and was told that as I wasn’t a regular customer I couldn’t expect any prioritisation. No, I wasn’t expecting to be prioritised, just to get my food when it was supposed to turn up!! When the food finally arrived it was inedible!! The sweet and sour sauce just tasted of vinegar, the lamb was actually beef, the Foo Yung was dry and tasteless! Such a disappointment after waiting so long… With such rude service and awful food, there is no chance of us becoming regular customers. We will not be returning! Avoid at all costs!!

Ordered a takeaway for 18.30 online which I have done many times before .Order came at one hour before ,we were not in ,at the pub.Phonedcto say you have got the time wrong and the lovely Cindy lied to me saying that there was no delivery time given ,which was a load of rubbish .Spoilt our evening and to top it all the food was awful Don't mind if it was a genuine mistake with the time of delivery but she lied to me outright ,will NEVER be using this place again. Very,very poor customer service and food ,well it made me sick

First time using this takeaway. Two hours after ordering still hadn't arrived. I called and said I'd collect. Still made to wait when I got there and the lady taking orders was shouting a lot at the cooks (who were cooking in their overcoats). Very expensive and food was the worst chinese I've ever had. Maybe even the worst takeaway. No idea how this had such good ratings - maybe those people hate themselves and have no tastebuds. Avoid this place at all costs.

Ordered home delivery at 19:40.. It was delivered (after a few irate phone calls!) at 21:40…. Slightly tepid!!! Such a shame, always rated this takeaway before but won’t be using them again!

Ordered three dishes for delivery at 19:30 on a Saturday night, delivery time was estimated at 21:21. Rang them at 21:22 wondering where the delivery got to. Spoke to a very stressed and very fast talking lady suggesting they were extremely busy and my delivery would be at least another 30 minutes. No apology but at least they did agree to cancel and refund my order.

Helpful lady on the phone, who didn't mind me making a change to a dish, and remembers what I like when I go back. The food was delicious.

Great team, fabulous service, very good quality meal. Ready for collection right on time. Very Covid friendly. Recommended by a neighbour and a very good recommendation.

Disappointing. Asked for egg fried rice and plain chow mein. Received plain fried rice and plain noodles. The taste was not to our liking. Won't be returning as not to our taste.

Pushed for time one evening, we ordered a set meal for two from the Happy Cook. Ready in a staggering ten minutes and very generous portions. Delicious sweet and sour pork and beef in a black beean sauce formed the main part oof the meal with excellent fried rice. There is a very large menu to choose from, with just about every option covered. Run by a friendly young couple, well worth a visit.

This is our 2nd time ordering from Happy Cook and the food is as good as our 1st. Their menu offers a good selection of Chinese dishes as well as vegetable dishes. Plus they deliver locally for only £1 extra and always on time if not earlier than stated when ordering online.Food is piping hot and the delivery chap very pilot.Highly recommend.

Holidaying 4 miles from Royal Wooton Bassett, so rang our order through to save time, then found that we could have a home delivery, great, and it only cost us £1 on top of our bill. Food was very hot on arrival and tasty too. Excellent service, strongly recommended.

New to Royal Wootton Bassett a great menu and great taste for a great price. Free fortune cookies to boot.

Lovely cheap meals here. Lovely staff and quick service. Have ordered a few times now and have never been disappointed.

We have just had a lovely takeaway delivered ( on time ) All piping hot and fresh tasting, lots of meat and vegetables - we had a starter platter, chicken chow mein, red Thai curry and Kung po chicken and egg fried rice .Generous portions, well seasoned and delicious.Will definitely order again- Thankyou x

Had a takeaway from here tonight after our regular Chinese was shut and it was a lovely meal and would definately go back again.

Working from home and could not be bothered to cook so decided to get a takeaway. Happy cook seems to have the best online ordering in RWB and since I had a good experience before decided to give it another go.It arrived in literally 20 minutes which although I live only 2 miles away was very quick. Food was really nice though, piping hot and proper tasty.Plenty of good food for a good price and delivered very quickly is all you can ask for.

Had a simple menu. Chicken fried rice, special fried rice and pork chow main. All bland and tasteless. The s and s chicken was OK. However £20 badly spent. Never again.

A recent addition to the town, taking the place of a much loved tapas bar, reasonably priced Chinese food, good range of dishes, but nothing out of the ordinary. Local delivery, good staple stuff. Quality is good too, but we'd have been happier if it had been Thai or something we don't already have. Worth a go, particularly for value!

Nice people good food , huge menu with all the usual plus a few chef special. It's right next to the fab bike shop Bassett Bikes.

First visit to this CHINESE Takeaway the food was amazing, service was a fantastic. Reasonably Priced will be definitely using this Chinese again

If you are looking for a decent Chinese takeaway in Royal Wootton Bassett you are spoilt for choice. We have at least 5 excellent takeaways. Happy Cook is new so I decided to give it a go.

As this was new we thought we would give it a try.. And we are glad we did! The food was excellent, even better than where we usually go (but shh don't tell them). Will be back for sure. Also may add the service was fantastic and the lady who served us was very polite and welcoming.

So we decided to give these guys a try and boy very glad we did.
